She didn't want to break, not infringe of him because it would make him feel like shit. She looks at him, tears in her eyes, "just give me a moment. She walks out and down the hall until she found what looked like a closet. Emotions come rushing at her. She felt like she couldn't breathe, it took her two months until she broke, new record for her. She sits there thinking about going back but she just lost it and she was ashamed she broke so easily.

Hearing some crying he began feeling slightly upset. Jake heard sobs coming from the hall "Kate...Can you please come out?" he asked quietly. One night and one day to make a lasting memory through this death game.

She but her lip thinking he would just go away if she stayed silent but he stayed. She didn't want to make him feel like crap, she was stronger than this. She got up and wiped away her tears but her eyes were still puffy. She opened the door. She sniffles slightly and then puts on a fake smile. "Hey, let's head back the room." She says her voice cracking slightly. She starts to walk towards the room.

Jake follows her back to the room, a frown on his face the whole time. When they got back he just stood at the door, slowly closing it, and put his hands in his pockets "I'm not leaving until after the boss raid. I wish I could stay with you but I'm going to be gone a long while and I might not see you for a while. . ." he explained to her.

"Why?" She asks not looking at him. She lays down on her stomach and grips a pillow. She knew in the back of her head she had a thought about leaving. She just keeps her head turned to the side, looking away from him.

Jake sighed, well no sense lying to her, "I'm going to be out on the harder boss rooms up in mountains and risky places. That's why I'm telling you now. I'm going to be going at it alone, I just want to spend my last moments along side you because I'm afraid I won't see you again" said Jake, looking down at the ground the entire time he spoke. She'd at least have more fun in this game than him, if he didn't make it.

"Take me with you" she says softly at first. "Take me with you" she says a little louder sitting up and staring at him. "Help me become a great swordsman. Let me come with you and if you say no I will follow you" she says not taking no for an answer.

"What if you get killed? What'll happen if I'm unable to protect you? What am I supposed to do then?" asked Jake, to worried for her protection. He knew she could protect herself but there was always the constant thought something might go wrong. Jake just stared at the ground, externally upset, internally sad as hell.

She gets up and walks towards him. She puts two fingers under his chin, forcing him to look at her. "Let me come with you." She says her eyes pleading.

There are things I need to set straight myself. As soon as I can I'll find you and I promise it'll be the last time I leave" he said tried to explain, giving her a small reassuring smile.

Shirou realizes that he misread the message and that the girl was the attack team . He hurry back to her wanting to talk strategy with her. He hated teaming up but he knew attacking a boss on his own was suicide. "Sorry guess you were the person I was suppose to meet" says shirou as he puts his right arm behind his head and laughs.

" Well people tend to forget me , you would be surprised, well at least you aren't like my friend who never wants to hang out she always has work" Cardinal said sounding a lot like the child she looked to be. It made a little bit of sense that she would be childish as her mind was younger than anyone else in the game and well she likely looked younger due to the age cut off on the system.

Shirou feeling sorry for cardinal. " let's be friends from now on. i never forget about you and i come whenever you need me" shirou with a passion in his voice. He never expected to feel this way. His only goal was to beat the game and save everyone. Maybe it time to think of the long term effects of being alone.

Cardinal was happy and it showed finally another friend, one that wouldn't treat her as some kind of thing and not a person like she wanted. While most might delete such a mean friend, mean as far as cardinal was concerned at least, but it might be nice to have an info broker too blame all her knowledge on. Still cardinal was excited enough to send the request without actually opening any of the tabs she normally should have had to.

" Yeah yeah, don't worry about that i hear that window will actually be widened by just a little " Cardinal said, though by just a little she meant tenths of a second.


" Though my attacks are mostly from minions and spells, i have a book if i really need to hit it " She explained holding up the book that looked like it would hurt if she hit someone with it's edge or any of the metal parts.

" well i have a number of custom sword skills i created. In addition to the regular sword skills we acquired. We should be fine but if there any danger use a teleport crystal and escape. I dont want anyone dieing." Floor bosses are different and even beta testers dont have a huge advantage. Akihiko Kayaba had a way to screw with them and the rest of the players by changing things on them. Kayaba didnt care if he killed everyone in sao or atleast that what shirou thought.

" Oh i will be fine" Cardinal said she didn't say why but even if everyone else died she would be just fine. though why she woudl she didn't say " You would be surprised by the magic generation system after the games merged " She said though that was just an excuse but most people wouldn't have bothered with magic after the merging.

She almost wanted to say the words, but that would just make things ten times harder. She looked at him keeping a smile on her face, just to keep the tears from falling. "One day, okay" she says.

Anyway you have any information on the boss, rare items, minions" Shirou says to cardinal. Shirou miss his chance at a rare item during the first floor boss. He not going to miss it this time.

" Yeah having an info broker for a friend does have its benefits, though really anyone could make magic they just don't because swords " Cardinal said the part abotu the friend was a lie the rest however was true as there were fewer magic users than peopel who just ran up and hit others, there were also next to no gun users, must have been a slow day on gun gale.


" i am fairly sure this boss will also give a last hit item, though i don't see the point in that reward, i mean that just encourages the party to turn on whoever gets it afterwards, they should have done something like challenges for extra loot\" Cardinal said wondering how that would go over.
