Fandom DC Universe: Age of Heroes (Rebooted)

Alright, both Wonder Woman and Shazam are accepted by me. Just wait on BMan's approval before you move them over, but good job guys!

Dangit, someone took the Flash before I finished my app...I don't have any other characters I want to use and actually know well...
There are plenty of other DC heroes that are interesting left out there.

...I just had an idea. Making new app.

Character: Green Lantern of Sector 2814(Hal Jordan)/Lantern(his current canon name, due to him not deciding to use the Green Lantern Corps' name yet. Hasn't become how he is in the comics just yet)

Age: 18

Appearance:

Green-Lantern-film-1-1940x934.jpg

Powers/Abilities: Flight, can blast beams from his ring, can create constructs(though he doesn't have enough Willpower to do so just yet), sense Willpower through ring(again, not enough Willpower to do so), can explore space without a helmet safely as long as he has his ring.

Weaknesses: Fear, which, in turn, is weak to Willpower. This should be self-explanatory. You need Willpower to overcome Fear, and Fear can be used to overcome someone else's Willpower. He also generally hates Yellow, which is the color of Fear.

Backstory/orgins: Hal is a childhood friend of army man John Diggle, who convinced Hal to become a test pilot. From there, Hal crashed a plane, right into the current Green Lantern of Sector 2814, who's name is currently unknown. The alien he hit asked Hal to come close. Sensing that it's current master was about to die, the Ring chose Hal, the alien noting and giving Hal the ring. Hal was then told more about the Green Lantern Corps, and the capabilities of the Ring, before the current Green Lantern died, telling Hal to become the new guardian of Sector 2814. Hal obeys, putting on the ring, which projected the suit and mask onto him. He then became Lantern, a vigilante positioned in Coast City.

Arc ideas:

Brightest Day:

Hal Jordan heads to Oa for the first time and meets the Guardians of the Universe, along with his mentor, Thaal Sinestro, and trains under Thaal's tutelage. Things take a dark turn when Sinestro is figured out to be using Fear to keep his Sector under control. Lantern has to make a decision between his good friend and mentor, or the rules of the Corps. After deciding on the Corps' laws, Hal heads towards Oa, only to be confronted and attacked by Thaal.

Rageful Rumble:

Lantern, on patrol of Oa, sights a being in the distance, coming towards Oa, best described as "big, red and angry." Hal reports back to the Guardians of the Universe to find out about it. The first thing Hal was told was it's name; Atrocitus. The being was the leader of the Red Lanterns, and was ALWAYS angry. Hal heads out to ask the being of it's plans, only to be met with a blast to the face in response. The fight then started, Lantern facing off against Atrocitus.

Sinestro Strikes:

Sinestro, during all this, was on the planet Qward, having the Weaponers shape him a ring. And it's finally done. A yellow, glowing power ring that presents the power of Fear to the wearer. Sinestro begins wearing it, with a Yellow Lantern Corps outfit, and attacks Earth, knowing that Earth is the home of Hal Jordan. Lantern fights him back, getting the usual response of people yelling at him to "get out of Coast City" and to "get lost." He ignores this, battling Sinestro.

Okay so you need to expand on your sheet some more. We need a little more beefy backstory and some expansion on powers and weaknesses.

I'm working on my Black Canary CS. I know you want to start soon, but I don't know if I can get it up tonight. :\

Age: 18

Appearance:

Green-Lantern-film-1-1940x934.jpg

Powers/Abilities:

1. Flight and Space Defense

When wearing the ring of the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, among his other powers, gains the ability to fly. He also gains a "forcefield" of his ring's energies, allowing him to breathe in space. This effect, however, does not protect him from attacks.

2. Create Constructs

He doesn't know how to yet, but when the Lantern has his ring, he can create hard-light objects, whether they are small or large depends on how much Willpower he has at the time. To do so also requires his Ring be charged at the Corps' core.

3. Sense Willpower and Light Projection

His ring glows when it's nearby someone other than the wearer who has a great deal of Willpower. This allows Lantern to light up the dark, if required.

4. Lantern Beam

Using the energies for Willpower, Hal Jordan can fire a beam of energy from the Emotional Spectrum, out of his ring. For them to reach past 2 feet, it requires his Ring to be charged. It's the only non-lethal form of the Lantern Beams, due to the "no-kill" rules set by the Guardians of the Universe.

5. Fighting Skills

Hal Jordan is a master of many fighting styles, due to his time in the U.S. Navy.

Weaknesses:

1. Yellow

As pathetic as it is, Hal Jordan and other Green Lanterns cannot effect yellow, mostly due to it's orientation of the Emotional Spectrum being for Fear. However, Green is not the Yellow Lantern's weakness, meaning it's important that he comes across another, less-hostile color.

Backstory/orgins: Hal Jordan is a man who used to work for the U.S. Navy. His friend from the Navy, John Diggle, convinced him to follow in his father's footsteps and become a test pilot after Hal Jordan was relieved of his duties. Hal did so, leaving the Navy base, back towards Coast City. When he got home, he got the job easily, signing up for his father's old slot.

One year later, he crashed a plane, and and hit someone during his descent, if that. Getting out, holding his head(which now had a very large bruise, but luckily, didn't break open), he looked to see who he hit. What he saw wasn't human. He saw a creature in a green and black outfit, with the logo you should all be familiar with as the crest of the suit. It introduced itself as Abin Sur, Green Lantern of Sector 2814. The creature then saw its Ring glowing, both sensing Willpower in Hal Jordan, and knowing that its master was about to die. Abin gave the ring to Hal, and, sensing his time was up, simply told him to "Wear the ring...Feel it's power...And head to Oa..."

The creature then died. Hal Jordan, not even knowing what an Oa is(yes that's a joke part), just put on the ring and hoped it would guide him. All at once, his normal clothing was replaced with the Green Lantern attire, and a mask was placed on his face. Having no idea where to go, he saw something fall out of Abin Sur's pocket; A map of Sector 2814, and how to get from the current Sector to Oa. He then wonders how the heck he'll get into space. Figuring something involving the ring, Hal Jordan raises his ring into the air, and, indeed, the ring allowed him to fly. Smiling, he took off towards Oa, keeping the map in one hand and using the ring in the other.

At Oa, he talked to the Masters of the Universe, gaining knowledge of the Emotional Spectrum, the roles of the Green Lanterns, and other information regarding the Green Lantern Corps. He then decided to, for the safety of everyone, keep the Ring. He then became the Lantern, hero of Sector 2814, particularly Earth, and his hometown in Coast City.

Arc ideas:

Brightest Day:

Hal Jordan heads to Oa for the second time(he was mostly trying to learn how flying works) and meets his mentor, Thaal Sinestro. He trains under Thaal's tutelage. Things take a dark turn when Sinestro is figured out to be using Fear to keep his Sector under control. Lantern has to make a decision between his good friend and mentor, or the rules of the Corps. Canary passes for me, good job Possum!

Lantern, I don't know. I think it just needs a little work. He's 18 but worked for the navy for at least a year? I dont know of anyone being in any armed forces for that short amount of time anyway. Powers are good, maybe add another weakness.

Although both of my judgements might be overturned by Vandy, he's ultimately in charge.

Working on THIRD VERSION, a repost because of an adware glitch that I personally hate.

2. Normal

Apart from the occasional ability of using a Construct to block an attack, he's vulnerable to everything a human can die from.

3. Depowering

He literally cannot use his powers if you take away the Power Battery before he finishes charging his ring. The only things that work are flight(but only at a hover) and constructs(also limited, larger things cannot be built)

Backstory/orgins: Hal Jordan is a man who used to work for the U.S. Navy, until last year, when he was relieved of his duties, due to an argument with Eilling resulting in a man down. His friend from the Navy, John Diggle, convinced him to follow in his father's footsteps and become a test pilot after Hal Jordan was relieved of his duties. Alright, so I posted my first IC post which means we are launching! If it looks familiar to my old players, it is. I am reusing an old story because I never finished it in a way that satisfied me.

Lantern looks fine to me now.

I did the same with my Batman post. For similar reasons. Let's just go ahead and post those first two... uh posts. That way we can get it out there early.

Also, Lantern is fine if Vandy thinks so. I know he's a big GL fan so if he says you're good to go, I guess you're good to go.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and copy that second post over. You can do that with Batman too.

Posted in the Apps thread, I assume I can make an IC post now?

((Just to be clear, Lantern's thoughts and speech text will be in green, and Thaal's will be in a dark yellow, but only once we actually get to him being the leader of the Sinestro Corps.))

Yep, go ahead and make an IC post. Take your time with it, I promise those posts we just put up took awhile to write. Make sure we can see that dark yellow, make it DARK.

Anyways, I'll get to work on Dawn of Batman III.

And I shall work on Mob Wars part 3, introducing Lex Luthor! A very young Lex, with hair!

Diamond655[/URL], now I have a mental image of Wayne with Iron Man facial hair. Thank you.
T'was a pleasure. xD

I like colored text myself. Lex actually has hair in a few versions but loses it due to Kryptonite poisoning. Basically always carrying the stuff gave him cancer.

BOOM! Superfanned!
