Futuristic Cyberpunk Criminals

[The Jackal]

Rain shrugged. "Good to know" He murmured before glancing over his shoulder again. "God knows" He said said, yawning as he stretched slightly. He was bored currently, which was unusual for him as he rarely ever got bored when there was a chance to annoy Neon to absolute shit.


Wilhelm dropped from the wire and then rolled to soften his fall before continuing on his run to the location, jumping up onto a large air conditioner and then over an electrified fence. Once again coming to a stop when he reached his location, a strange building. After a moment of planning Wilhelm dropped down to the street below and banged on the thick door before drawing his pistol and placing it over the door knob which was open and instantly shot through, killing the man on the other side.

Neon noticed his unusual behavior, but decided against saying anything about it. It was probably nothing....probably. A few minutes later Neon jumped watching the guy fall to the ground. Whatever this turned out to be, Neon wasn't planning on sticking around to see. She grabbed Rain's hand and dragged him to a back door not too terribly far away but not very close either. She dashed out of the door with Rain and continued running.

(Wilhelm, who has ties with the police, would most likely have been given info on the fugitives current location, where the hell roman is xD )

(Don't worry... Also I'm making a CS in the background so I may ask if you don't constantly reply if I don't reply in a certain amount of time, not hating I just have the equivalent of OCD and must check my alerts (Even in the middle of a CS)

(I don't mean to spam but...I have one last stupid question...How did the police force even know what Rain and Neon looked like behind the masks? Yes, I did consider that they were watching them, but as Wilhelm was told, they were last seen fleeing the city...but how would they even know that they were fugitives leaving the city then? They had their masks off at that point...and the police only knew their masked appearance, based on what they told Wilhelm...or did they just say, "Oh, also we know how they look behind the masks, but let's not tell Wilhelm for some reason!"...((I have just now become cinema sins xD )))

Wilhelm took a step through the door and instantly fired another round at someone nearby before glancing around "Mercury, there are millions of people here how do I know who's the target ?" He asked through his comm only for Mercury to reply "Simple, shoot or stun anything that runs" She said. Wilhelm sighed before looking at Neon and Rain as they ran, they were running. He quickly drew his stun baton and downed two more people before taking chase to the two people running.

Neon had her mind set on not looking back...but of course curiosity got the best of her. She turned her head for a split second only to see someone chasing them. He at least seemed to be a cop, but she couldn't really tell...she didn't see them for long enough. "Shit..." Neon murmured under her breath. She continued running and dragged Rain around the corner.

Rain shook his hand from Neon's grasp and began running "It's one of the runners, we're in trouble" He said to her, glancing back at the runner as it dodged underneath a punch and then dug his stun baton into the attackers arm pit before shoving him aside, slipping his Interceptor 45. into it's holster and then giving chase to them.


Wilhelm shoved the now unconscious figure aside and turned his attention to the runners, two teens by the looks of it. He slowly picked up his speed, sliding and kicking a man in the groin before standing and clothes lining him. He slowly slipped his Interceptor into it's holster and then began running at full speed at the two runners, they were as good as dead.

Neon growled upon hearing that they were being chased by a runner. She huffed before getting an idea. Just because he was a runner, that didn't mean that he could be in two places at once. Neon smirked and leaned closer to Rain "Let's split up. You go right, I'll go left." She mumbled in hopes Rain actually heard her, despite all the anarchy happening all at once.

Rain nodded at Neon's suggestion before turning and firing a few shots at the runner who quickly grabbed the body of someone and then used his as a human shield. He winced before slamming through the door and splitting off from Neon "Regroup" He yelled cryptically before the runner burst through the door and looked between the two as they split up, smirking at their intelligence. It will do them no good.


Wilhelm glanced between the two before settling on the girl, she looked like the leader of the two so she was probably most important. He quickly turned and ran after the girl with the pink hair, swerving between obstacles that littered the streets as they ran.

Neon glanced behind her only to find the runner. She growled keeping her hand close to her jacket. Her hand was hovering over where her pistol was placed. She started knocking over bins, people, and basically anything in her way, trying to stump the runner, despite knowing how well runners generally avoid obstacles.

The runner simply shrugged the obstacles aside by either shoving the person aside, jumping over the trash can or simply swerving out of anything else. He quickly reached up to his comm unit and turned it on "Mercury, I'm in pursuit with the leader of the two, I think" He said to Mercury who replied "Stay with her, I'm sending reinforcements" Wilhelm nodded before tapping his comm off and increasing his speed.

Neon just continued to dash away. She turned around the corner and hid behind a nearby warehouse to catch her breath and stall for a bit, but it was mainly to get ahold of Rain. She took her comm out of her pocket and spoke quietly. "Rain, where are you right now?" She asked before sprinting away once again.

Rain stopped running and turned to look at the empty street behind him, relaxing slightly at the thought that the runner hadn't pursued him. He was brought back to reality by Neon's voice through his comm, taking it from his pocket and then placing it to his ear. "Uh" He glanced around at his surroundings before returning to the comm. "Somewhere, there's a bar, a... Strip club and what looks like a nuclear bunker" He said. "Where are you ?" He added non-nonchalantly.

"Uh.... Running..." She replied looking behind her seeing the runner. "Just try to stay there for a bit...I have another idea" She said still talking somewhat quietly as to keep the runner from hearing her. She then stuck her comm in her pocket and kept running.

Rain nodded before shutting the comm unit off and then slipping it back into his pocket, turning and running again just in case the runner had followed him silently and he hadn't noticed.


Wilhelm came to a halt and looked around, resting his gaze on a corner as some harsh whispers caught his attention "Got you now" He whispered, creeping to the corner and drawing his Interceptor with a low 'clink' of the holster guard coming undone as he slipped the pistol from it's holster. He pressed himself against the wall before spinning around the wall, pulling back the hammer on the pistol, aiming at the girl's head and then yelling: "Freeze, motherfucker !" He slowly turned on the dot sight which shone in the middle of Neon's forehead.


(I've thought about a plot point being either A. Wilhelm being incapacitated and then the HQ going under siege or B. Neon getting captured and then Rain having help her)

Neon stopped almost immediately seeing the gun being pointed at her, she was left there. Neon just stood there, frozen like a statue. For a split second she was about to grab her comm, but stopped, reminding herself that it would only get her killed.

Wilhelm smirked before slamming the pistol down on her head, most likely knocking her out cold. He turned to look at the two police vans that just rounded the corner and smirked before the vans came to a swerve near him and two officers stood from both the vans one of which was Mercury who toted a knife in one hand and a large 6 cylinder revolver in the other, she pointed at the now unconscious Neon and the 3 officers grabbed her, handcuffed her and then threw her into the back of the first van.


Rain watched all this from the shadows, controlling his urge to draw his pistol and kill the runner and his friend. He slowly shrunk back into the shadows and sprinted all the way back to HQ, he needed to do something, he needed to do it now.
