Fantasy Cursed Island

Roy glanced up before looking over towards the door, rubbing his head. "Well, I'm glad you're confident with your aim..." He shook his before walking to the door. "Everyone, let's get together and talk out a plan."

"I am well practiced when I have my strong stones in," Jalin said as he brought the hook back and it snapped into place. "Does anyone else have any snarky comments about me and Sal?"

"Nope, just told me all I need to know," Turac shook his head.

"Ugh, I just got comfortable!", Siege complained ashe she grouped up.

Nidia stayed sitting on her bed. "We can group up in here so we're not all out in the hallway."

Emilia looked into the room. "You just don't want to get up. But you have a good point."

Siege didn't even offer an opinion, just flopped onto Nidia's bed.

"Sometimes I wonder how we are still alive," Jalin sighed as he tapped his cane and walked into the room with Turac and Katsuo in tow.

"A great mystery, that." Roy stepped in with Emilia and closed the door. "So, the big steps we need to take are, first, confirm that this royal heirloom is a Dragonstone. Along side that, is finding out where it's kept. Once we've done that, we need to figure out how to get it and leave before we're caught."

"So, how are we gonna do that?", Siege asked.

"Well, we were hoping one of you would be willing to get close to the crown prince," Sinach said.

"What?" Siege was sitting up, now, "Didn't we have this discussion on the boat?"

Roy held up his hand. "Slow down. You did mention something about how you were sure you could flirt your way to a Dragonstone. If you want to prove that, this is your chance. If not, we'll come up with something else."

Nidia shrugged. "I'll try, gladly." She giggled. "Can't hurt to get in good graces with royalty either way."

Emilia glanced around. "I hope at least one us is his type...."

"He's a cat," Siege rolled her eyes, "And a prince. Of course one of us is his type."

"Being a lion doesn't make you attractive."

"No, being attractive makes me attractive, and having the tools to use that makes me a bombshell," Siege fished out her magic makeup bracelet. "I said I could flirt my way close to a dragon, but... I guess I can work my way to a dragonblooded chunk of royalty." She assumed he was dragonblooded, anyway, no one naturally had purple fur, and as Beri could have attested if he were here, dying an entire body of fur is agony.

Nidia spoke up. “And matching species doesn’t mean much either. Just look at all of our parents.”

"Well, we know dragons run in the family," Turac nodded to Siege and Roy, "They are draconic lineage."

Nidia shook her head. “That’s not the point I was trying to make... We shouldn’t assume that race will help or hurt our chances, at least not until the prince himself confirms it.”

"It's the best we've got," Siege shrugged, and turned to Roy, "But if you come up with this again and don't ask us ahead of time if this is a plan worth considering, don't even think about it."

“Noted. I’d like to make it clear that you do have the option to not do it.”

There was a soon a knock at one of the doors, followed by a servant’s voice. “The king and prince will see you know.”

"Oh, I'll do it," Siege replied, putting the bracelet on. There was a puff of smoke around her as the enchantment did its work to make her look like she'd spent hours on her appearance, "But if we get run out of the kingdom because one of us won't sleep with him, I blame you." She shut up as a servant knocked on the door. "Showtime." She left her weapons and equipment in their chambers as the group went to meet the royals.

The servant led the lot of them down through the halls before they came to the throne room. Seated on the throne was the king, a cat like his son but his fur was of a red color. Fitzroy was there as well. He looked over as the servant opened the door to let them inside before walking over. "Ah, there you are. I trust you've had no complaints so far?"

"Thank you. I'm glad to hear it. Now, I'd like you to meet my father, King Torvald." Fitzroy stepped aside and gestured to the throne.

Each member of the party had their own ways of acknowledging the monarch, they hadn't planned this part out and none of them had thought to ask before they got to this point. Turac emulated Katsuo, crossing an arm over his chest and nodding. Siege smiled and did a little cursy, leaning into her role. Jalin bowed his head, but didn't bend anywhere else. And Sinach did nothing, just observing from his reclaimed perch on Roy's horns.

Roy dipped his head with a light bow, Katsuo greeted the king as he had the prince, Nidia gave a bow with a bit more flair than Roy, and Emilia gave a curtsy. The king simply nodded to them. "My son tells me you are to thank for clearing the bandits nearby."

"We are," Jalin nodded, "We had hoped the act would help us gain passage into the city, but we appear to have gotten much more than that."

"Indeed. My son is very fond of adventurers, so I'm not surprised. But you have done us a service. You may spend the night here if you like."

Nidia blinked. "Really?"

"Yes, really. If I did not offer you something, Fitzroy would not leave me alone."

Fitzroy chuckled, but he didn't deny it.

"That is a great reward for such a small task," Turac said, "Thank you."

"I am sure we will be able to repay your kindness," Siege said with a smile and another little bow.

The king chuckled. “You must be new to this if a day’s lodging is a great reward. I will usually be here if you have need of me, though it’s better you turn to others first. For now, you should head to the barracks. Our guard captain would like to speak with you in regards to the bounty.”

"We are not seasoned adventurers," Jalin conceded as the King said they must be new to this. "Is there a member of the house staff that can direct us to the barracks?"

The king nodded and gestured to one of the servants standing by at the edge of the room. The servant bowed before heading towards the main doors. “This way, please.”
