Fantasy Cursed Island

Asta and Corona knew better than to get in the middle of that. They each had to hold back a Shuffle before they could charge in to try and help. Corona spoke up as she shook her head. “Let’s stay clear for now. No way we’ll find an opening in that mess.”

Niudisa and her reflection smiled as they completed the force field box around the tick. “Cursing the gods won’t help you now.”

“Neither will praying, just in case the thought crossed your mind.”

As if to punctuate Corona's statement, a clap of thunder and lightning from the blue dragon made Jeri's day. "Oh, FINALLY!", Jeri barked as she came off of Urodor to do it again. Urodor answered with his own breath weapon, except he'd been using his a lot today and was running out of juice. Instead of the usual impressive cloud, he got a puff of corrosive gas before he was electrocuted and then Jeri tackled him again, ripping at him with claws and fangs, Urodor resorting to the same. Steaming dragon blood followed the brawl everywhere until they rolled into the pools, which lit up with electricity from Jeri's breath weapon.

Emera dropped the tick disguise, taking on a small humanoid form. "I hate you."

Both Shuffle’s were glad they’d been spending so much time in the healing water lately, otherwise that much blood would’ve been tempting. Fia was glad she’d fished Beri out already or they might both be getting another rebirth.

Niudisa snickered. “That’s the greatest compliment you could give me. Please, go on.”

The lightning electrifying the pools stopped as Jeri came hurling out of it and through a tree, shaking the ground when she connected. A severely bloodied Urodor came out of the water to pursue her, picking up the felled tree to use as a club, getting countered with Jerry's tail before the two were rolling around clawing and biting.

Emera crossed her arms, "No."

Shuffle let out a whine. "How do we even help here?"

Asta shook his head. "I don't think we can. But Urodor was already wounded and winded from fighting, so Jerry has that advantage, at least."

Niudisa smiled as she and her reflection lifted the box. "Come on. Let's go see how your plan is falling apart." They turned and headed off to go watch the fight.

Emera frowned inside the box as she watched Jeri and Urodor brawl. "That's impossible I had the blue dragonewt charmed!" She sat up right and worked her own magical lens, "THAT'S BULLSHIT! HOW DOES SHE HAVE TWO SOULS?"

Both dragons seemed to be starting to succumb to blood loss by this point, slowing down, and Jeri was running low on charges for the lightning breath weapon. What had been a slugfest was starting to slow down.

Niudisa shook the box. "Quiet down. No one's answering your questions."

Corona looked over as she passed her spear to Asta. "Here."

Asta looked at the spear. "Hm?"

"You have a stronger arm than I do. If you see a shot, take it."

Asta paused before he nodded and took the spear. "Right." He flipped it to a throwing grip and prepared himself as he watched for the right moment.

Emera did not shut up, but the roaring and growling from the fight drowned her out, at least. Asta's moment came when the fight tipped in Urodor's favor. As big a power boost as the badge had been, Jerry's pool wasn't nearly as large as Urodor's, and she could only sustain the effect for so long. That she'd lasted this long showed that her pool had grown under the dragon's influence, but not enough to outlast Urodor.

Urodor pinned Jerry against the side of the pools, his back open. "You could have just been mine, little wyrm," Urodor growled, "And this would have never happened." Urodor was focused on Jerry, back open, there might not be a better moment for the others to aid in the fight.

Asta grit his teeth and growled as he pulled his arm back. Mustering all the strength he could, he hurled the spear directly at Urodor’s back.

The spear punched right through, slipping between his ribs and going through his heart, coming out the other side. Urodor flinched, eyes wide as he dropped Jerry. The spearshaft vibrated ever so slightly as the dragon's heart sliced itself to ribbons on the blade of the spear impaling it. Fatal, there was no recovering from that. Urodor turned to see who had done this to him, trying to muster a use of his breath weapon to bring them down with him, but he could not, and collapsed forward on the ground.

Jeri reached over the corpse and pulled out the spear, tossing it aside before plunging her fist into the hole and ripping out Urodor's soul gem. "Mine," she growled again before stumbling towards the group, and then collapsing as blood loss and mana exhaustion took their toll. What hit the ground was Jerry's normal form, unconscious and bloodied.

Asta ran forward to check on Jerry. Corona followed more slowly to retrieve her spear. Shuffle and her reflection went to check Urodor's body.

Niudisa looked over at Emera. "I hope for your sake you never thought this plan was 'flawless.' 'Cause that would be really embarrassing."

Seeing that the fight was done, Emil headed back to his tent to see if Veo was awake yet.

Jerry would definitely need medical attention, she was covered in bite and claw marks, burns, and ligature marks from all her worn items cutting off circulation in the dragon form. Erina's scarf and her undergarments were soaked red in blood, and if it wasn't wet and sticky she might have passed for a redhead.

Urodor's body shone, and then vanished, polymorphed back into the tiny golem that used to house his soul gem.

Emera frowned, "If I knew Jerry had two souls, this wouldn't have happened."

Veo was still asleep, but not as comfortable, all the ground shaking didn't make for a nice nap.

Asta wanted to rush Jerry to Veo, but he knew moving her too much might worsen her wounds.

The Shuffle's looked at each as they watched Urodor revert to the golem body before looking down down at it again.

Niudisa shrugged. "Yeah, sure."

Emil walked over and nudged Veo's shoulder. "Veo, it's time to get up."

"If you're gonna kill me, just do it," Emera muttered, turning her back on the fairies.

"Hmm?", Veo moaned and rolled over, not really wanting to be awake. She didn't succeed at going back to sleep, though, her vines were restless. "What is it, Emil?"

"Oh, I want to, trust me. But I think you need to have a trial first. I'd like to hear everyone else's ideas."

"There are some wounds that need your attention."

Emera grumbled something about "stupid materialers" and shrank further in her box.

"What do you- oh my gods!" Veo pretty much flew out of bed and hurried to get dressed, rushing out of the tent with her bag and her shirt half-buttoned, "Who's hurt?", she demanded.

"A lot of people," Nalla called, "I do not have the mana to restore them all." The goliath was tending to the elf and leopard, one of which was still unconscious and the other still a soggy cub. Emfa was still steaming from being electrocuted, Jerry was still bloody, and Joanne was still passed out. Raine was nowhere to be seen.

Emil followed after Veo. "Emfa's been down the longest, but I think Jerry's wounds are most severe. Raine was also attacked, but I lost track of her."

At the mention of Emfa being hurt, Veo ran over to the other minotaur to check on her. Emfa was largely uninjured, just shocked unconscious. "Someone move her to a bed," the healer ordered before going to the bloody mess of Jerry. "What happened?"

Asta looked over. "Emera freed Urodor and returned him to his original form. Jerry ended up using his badge to match him for size and got into a direct fight with him."

Emil spoke up. "Veo will take care of Jerry. We need you to move Emfa to a bed."

Asta clearly didn't like the idea of leaving Jerry's side, even without him saying anything.

"Just go, I'll take care of Jerry," Veo promised.

"Can we stop playing?", Lyak called from where she and Erina were still playing the illusory instruments.

Emil looked over. "Oh, yes, you can stop. Those instruments should've vanished when I stopped playing."

Aria glanced at him. "Ah, my mistake. I'll get that next time, I promise."

Asta sighed and glanced at Jerry again before getting up to go move Emfa.

Lyak fell backwards into a sitting position against the loom once the instruments were gone, 'I don't like drums," she muttered, "My hands are sore."

Veo carefully started wiping away the worst of the blood, "Nalla, help me move her to the water." The goliath nodded and gently picked up the rogue, moving her over to the edge of the pools so Veo could clean and bind her injuries.

Erina shook her hands off a little. "At least I'm used to working with threads and strings. That was sort of fun though, fighting aside."

As Veo and Nalla were tending to Jerry, Shuffle and her reflection looked around for Raine. The dirt mound she had made had gotten stomped flat during the fight, so they had to find her by smell. One of them eventually stopped and started digging. She knew she'd found Raine because of the squeak, followed by a spear thrusting up from the hole. Shuffle managed to avoid it, thankfully. "Found her! The fight's over, you can come out." Raine hesitated before peeking out of the hole.

Lyak silently disagreed, just sitting there and recovering.

Adran woke up and looked around, expecting the fight to still be going on. Seeing it wasn't, "Okay, Jerry is terrifying when she wants you dead."
