Fantasy Cursed Island

Back at camp Jerry finally let Adran take off his blindfold and then went back into the woods where they'd come back from. "The hell is wrong with her," Adran rolled his eyes before he spotted Erina, "Didn't you have three hydras?"

Erina paused before she nodded. "Er, yes..." She glanced back at the hydra. "This one...ate their siblings."

Adran blinked. "Well." He wasn't entirely surprised, but still. "I mean, bigger snakes don't need to eat as often?"

"I suppose so... It's unfortunate, but there's nothing to do about it now. I'll keep looking after this one as best I'm able."

"I'll try harder to keep an eye on them. And speaking of keeping an eye on things, I saw you coming back camp not long ago. Blindfolded, with Jerry, who was mostly undressed."

Adran frowned, he'd expected something to happen if he was seen in that instance. "You're gonna have to get with Jerry on that one, she made me swear not to tell anyone what happened and the blindfold never came off."

"Hm... That's even more suspicious... Fine, I'll talk with her. Where did so go after you returned?"

"You're looking exactly where I went, I just got back. She went that way," Adran pointed at the woods where Jerry had disappeared again.

"Hm... I doubt I could track her... I guess it'll have to wait until she comes back. For now, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt."

"Alrighty then," Adran shrugged, "Have you seen Fia anywhere? I need a feather and we're just about out."

"Last I saw she was playing with Shuffle at the springs. I'm going to make a sleeping spot for this one." She glanced back at the hydra before looking at Adran again. "And let me know if you have any name ideas."

Adran nodded, "I'll see what I can come up with." He nodded and sat back down at his workstation. Shuffle and Fia playing in the springs was probably not something he could get away with interrupting, so he'd wait for them to come back to camp on their own.

Erina dipped her head and headed for their tent. Once inside, she glanced around before looking back at the hydra. "I wonder... Would you prefer being lower or higher...?"

The hydra cocked its head, not really sure what she meant by that. It liked quick access to warmth when it was waking up in the morning, which was why it spent so much time so far clinging to Erina.

"Mm, well, I'll give you the option." Erina walked over to her before she started spinning thread and weaving. It took a bit of work, but eventually she'd finished a pair of silk sleeping webs, only much more dense in the middle so it would actually hold the hydra. Like hammocks, but hanging from several points instead of just two. One was down near the floor by Erina's bed while the other was hanging higher up, also near the bed. "There. You can come to either of these spots whenever you want to rest."

The hydra looked at the change in the room. From the chain, it was able to understand those things were for it. Curious, it slithered onto the supports of the tent to go for the one closest to a heat source, the lantern, near the ceiling.

Erina smiled as she watched it go to investigate. She settled down to watch and see if it liked them.

The hydra seemed to like the one near the lantern, laying out across the hammock and spreading its heads to collect as much heat as possible.

"Hey, Erina," Nyah poked her head in the tent, "I've finished the pants, is there anything else you need?"

Erina glanced over and paused. "...oh, that's right! I have work!" She quickly stood up. "Thank you, Nyah." She cast a quick glance at the hydra before shaking her head. "I would ask you to watch this one, but I know you have your hands full with Shuffle."

"As long as it's well behaved and... doesn't eat anything," Nyah shuddered, "I don't mind."

Erina smiled at her. "Thank you. I really appreciate it. Ah, and Shuffle and Fia are at the springs, so you know." She started making her way back out.

"Thank you," Nyah poofed into smoke as Erina passed though, which zipped back over to the springs and reformed to keep an eye on the little ones.

A short while later, Jerry returned once again from her escapade, looking a bit tired and sweaty from the efforts of what she had been doing.

Shuffle must have kept moving about Erina had left, because by the time Nyah showed up, she was simply floating in the water alongside Fia, resting peacefully for a change.

By the time Jerry returned, Erina had gotten back to work. She'd spent a lot of time looking after the hydra, so now she felt like she was behind and was extra focused in order to catch up.

"Well, at least she's not hurt," Nyah knew Shuffle could breathe water and air, so she wasn't in danger of drowning, not that Fia wouldn't be screaming if she had. Nyah floated over to the side of the pools and summoned some snacks for the little ones. "Are you two hungry?"

Jerry, finding no one specifically needed her at that time, went to retrieve Poli, and was informed by Adran that Erina wanted to talk to her about their little walk in the woods. Jerry shrugged and walked over to the loom. "Did something happen? Adran said you needed to talk."
