Fantasy Cursed Island

"I do," Jerry nodded, "let's make it quick before he gets back!" She tried to put the collar around Asta's neck, but it was many sizes too small. It took Jerry a moment to remember she could alter Asta's size. "Oh," She put her hand on either side of Asta's head and shrank him down to that she could put the collar on the chimera.

-------------------
Joanne shook her head, "One's downfall is not something to go seeking." She scowled at the centaur, "You disgust me. You claim the power of a divine fighter with none of the discipline."

Asta stayed seated where he was, letting her do as she liked.

----------

"I seek nothing. Death comes for everyone, but when it comes for me, I won't be burdened down by strict rules and I'll have no regrets." She took another drink. "You drive me to drink, woman."

The sound of glass shattering came from somewhere across the camp.

"Just a little more... and... There!", the collar was a bit tight, but not painfully so. Like Jerry said, it did look very nice against Asta's mane. "Hmm," she looked a little confused. "I could have sworn it did something magic, the way he freaked out about it." She knelt down and fiddled with the collar some more, readjusting the fit and poking and prodding. Asta could feel a tingling in his body, though that might have just been the alcohol, and something almost felt like it was draining off of him.

--------------
Joanne shook her head, this centaur was impossible. "You will behave, or you will not be conscious to misbehave," she replied, before her head snapped in the direction of the shattering glass, along with the heads of other party members trying to figure out what just happened. "Is anyone hurt?"

Asta paused and narrowed his eyes, looking down at the bowl he'd been drinking from. "I never did ask what that drink was..."

----------

Those who were closer could see what the sound came from. It was Shuffle, sitting in front of a rock with the two bottles she'd emptied. One bottle was completely smashed, the only intact part being the neck in Shuffle's hand. Shuffle herself was laughing her tail off. Just as she started to calm down, she went to smash the other bottle as well.

"What do you, oh..." Suddenly Asta's size was changing very rapidly, and he was glowing as a magic affect altered his physical form.

--------------------
"Shuffle, what are you doing?", Adran had retrieved his booze from his leopard, who was none too willing to give it back, and was on his way to go see who needed refills when he heard glass shattering. The noise even woke Lyak, who had curled up to sleep on Erina's abdomen.

Asta blinked, feeling strange and noticing his point of view shifting. "Jerry? What's happening?"

----------

Shuffle stopped with the bottle raised and looked over at Adran. She paused for a moment before just slamming the bottle down against the rock. She tried hold it back, but she couldn't help cracking up like that was just the funniest thing ever as she fell onto her back.

Fia spoke up from where she stood nearby. "She started acting weird a little while ago, but I've been with her and she's only had juice. I tasted it myself."

"I don't know!", Jerry was just as confused as Asta, and now looking around to find and drag Adran back to fix this. Before she could leave, however, the magic affecting Asta stopped, leaving a very tall, very muscular, and very naked human man where Asta had been sitting. "The fuck?"

----------------------------
Adran facepalmed, "Okay, Joanne can't hit me for this one, I didn't do it." Adran had done what he could to make sure Shuffle got anything but alcohol. "Who gave her the second bottle?"

"I did," Nyah spoke up, "But it was just cider, I made sure."

Asta blinked, afraid to look down. "Jerry... I feel wrong." He also felt cold, except around his neck where his long hair still covered him.

----------

Fia nodded. "And I tasted that one too. She hasn't had any alcohol. Well, except for one taste, but it wasn't enough to do this."

Shuffle was looking at the others now as they spoke, trying not to laugh but still giggling.

"Well, you look," Jerry blinked after looking Asta over, "Strong." Asta towered over Jerry, he was probably as tall as Emfa. "I think you should," she gestured around her crotch, "Cover up." She realized when she said that that she didn't really have a way to pull that off, and she doubted Poli would agree to cloak Asta currently. "Stay right here," she ran back into their tent and came back with one of the blankets off of the bed for an impromptu kilt.

----------------------------------
Adran facepalmed, and ducked Joanne's slap. "I didn't even do this one, you're not hitting me for this one, paladin," he growled, "I gave her grape juice."

"Shuffle," Joanne approached and knelt down next to Shuffle, "Look at me," she tried to give Shuffle an examination and see if there was anything strange attached to or growing out of her that might be causing this erratic behavior.

Asta glanced down at himself, deciding to look himself over as Jerry walked away. By the time she returned, he was up on his hands and knees, though one hand was held back to try and tuck himself away. "Do all human men have to deal with it just hanging out like this?"

----------

Shuffle looked at Joanne giggling as she reached up to try and touch her face. Physically, she seemed the same as before. She was simply showing the typical symptoms of intoxication.

"Most humanoids, yeah, it's why pants exist," Jerry nodded, trying not to look directly at it. "Hind legs, come on," she couldn't try to put the new mess in a skirt while he was on the ground, "And quit playing with it, you'll go blind."

-----------
Joanne's eyelid twitched. "Shuffle," she repeated, giving Shuffle a light slap to the side of the face to knock sense back into her.

Asta quickly pulled his hand away as he looked at her. "Really?" He paused before trying to stand upright, but it was a foreign concept to him, so he wasn't too sure how to go about it.

----------

Shuffle paused for a moment before she laughed, trying to return the slap, though she was less careful about it being light.

"Yeah," Jerry nodded, "There are blind humans all over the surface because they can't leave well enough alone." By imitating the posture of the other upright humanoids in the group, it did become easier for Asta to remain upright, but it was still awkward because of what he was used to. Once skirted and upright, though, Jerry took Asta's hand to lead him towards the closest caster to figure out what on earth was going on, which happened to be Niudisa.

------------------
Joanne frowned, picking Shuffle up with a grip under her armpits and shaking her like a rattle for a few seconds, trying to rattle Shuffle's brain into behaving again.

Asta walked along awkwardly with her. This was all very strange, but he was somehow happy he could hold Jerry’s hand.

Niudisa was hard at work, her shot glass long since emptied. She was currently using a bone to stir some kind of black paste.

—————

Shuffle only laughed more as she was shaken around. Erina spoke up. “I’m not professional, but I don’t think that’s proper childcare.”

"Niudisa," Jerry called, "We've got a problem!"

------------------
"We are well past the point of proper childcare," Joanne replied, continuing to shake Shuffle, then stopping and giving her another slap to try and get some sense knocked into the golem. When that too failed, Joanne handed Shuffle off to Erina. "Since you seem to know better, you try."

Niudisa flicked an ear before she turned to hold the bone out to them. “Taste this and I’ll listen.”

—————

Shuffle was still a giggly mess as she was handed over. Erina set her down on the ground, mostly because she couldn’t really hold her up, and looked at Joanne. “By all accounts she just seems to be drunk, though she somehow managed that without drinking. Is that really something that needs to be resolved immediately?” By the time she looked back at Shuffle, the golem was gone, stumbling off and bumping her horns against a tree, which was apparently hilarious as well.

Jerry blinked, "What is it?" She wasn't about to stick an unknown substance in her mouth, she knew all too well that poisons could hide in various forms.

----------------
Joanne looked at Shuffle and her antics. "Yes, yes it is, before she hurts herself. Can you not simply tie her up?"

Niudisa shrugged. "An experiment. I don't know why it turned black."

----------

Erina blinked before she smiled. "If you insist."

"What's in it, then, since you don't know what it is."

-----------------
"Thank you," Joanne nodded and watched to make sure Erina didn't hurt Shuffle.

“Some kinda leaf and some kinda grass. I don’t remember the names.”

—————

As Shuffle started staggering around the tree, Erina pounced. She quickly but gently put her to the floor and had a strand of webbing around her within moments to hold her limbs close. With expertly practiced motions, she rolled Shuffle in place and started wrapping everything but her head.

Shuffle was having a blast, laughing all the while.

Well, that wasn't very reassuring, but under the circumstances if Niudisa didn't know exactly what she was doing it probably wasn't toxic. Jerry took the bone and licked the goop off the end, made a face, and then spat it out. "Gross, the hell'd you mix with it? Ugh!"

-------------

"Good," Joanne nodded. Shuffle contained, that solved the immediate problem. Adran went back to where he'd been drinking with Asta and found Asta, Jerry, and the collar gone.

"Shiiiit." Looking around, he spotted Jerry and a man he didn't recognie that could only be Asta at Niudisa's corner. "Gods-dammit."

“Pine tar. Anyway, thanks. What’s your problem? And who’s this?”

—————

Once Shuffle was properly wrapped, Erina climbed up the tree she’d bumped into and suspended the bundle from a branch, allowing Shuffle to swing to her heart’s content. And she did.

"This is the problem." Jerry gestured to Asta. "This is-"

"Gods-fucking dammit, Jerry," Adran had to stop and lean on a tree to catch his breath after that run. "Why did you put the collar on Asta?"

Niudisa raised an eyebrow. “Asta?” She fluttered unsteadily off the table. “Hm... Ah, yeah, I can see it.”

Asta looked over at Adran. “I blame you for not explaining this. Though it’s not as bad as I would have expected, admittedly.” He was still holding Jerry’s hand.

"Oh, you blame me?" Adran raised an eyebrow, "I didn't go snooping through other people's stuff and putting what I find on my housecat without asking if I can borrow it first!"

"Why did you even have a collar that can do that?" Jerry facepalmed.

"I figured if I ever pissed you off, an item that would return you to a human form for a while would calm you down, or cheer you up, something. I made two in case you somehow broke it," Adran pointed at Asta, "That is not the intended purpose."
