Fantasy Cursed Island

Asta gave a nod, focusing on those spots. He didn’t realize himself, but in trying to figure this all out, he was putting a very intense laser stare on Jerry.

At some point Jerry seemed to sense this laser stare, looking around for the eyes she felt on her, confused. "Hmm?" She looked down at Poli, "You starin' at me?"

"Progress," Adran noted. At least he was focused, if not subtle at all.
---------------------------

Inside the other tent Emil and Veo were working their way through that bottle of wine, a glass at a time, and talking about things. "You know," Veo slurred, "I don't ezen mind the attenshun." She shook her head, "But I wish people would just ask, you know?" Veo did not have a high tolerance for alcohol.

“Man, I don’t even have eyes right now.”

Asta was still trying. He inspected each part Adran mentioned and kept getting equal measurements of how much he liked them.

—————

Emil chuckled. “They probably get tongue tied when they see you. I know I would if I hadn’t trained my tongue the way I have.” He seemed to be about the same as always, except that he was flirting a lot more.

"Hrmm," Jerry looked around again, confused, getting up and sticking her head out to look around again, Evidently she got distracted by something because she paused and strained her neck trying to see, before ducking back into the tent and grabbing the bottle and coming back out to go pursue whatever she'd seen.

"Well, you just got to see her in motion," Adran leaned back against the rock, "Which part did you like to see move the most?

-------------------------
Veo giggled, that was smooth, as far as she was concerned. "Oh yeah?", she leaned in closer to the bat. "How else did you train?"

Asta blinked. “Her tail is rather entrancing, the way it trails behind her.”

—————

Emil smiled at her, likewise leaning towards her. “It’s easier to show than to tell.”

"And he can make decisions!", Adran feigned the crowd in a colliseum going wild and gave Asta a light jab in the side. "Now you have something you like about her, what are you going to do with that information?"

---------------
"Oh?", Veo lost her balance leaning so far forward and landed partly on top of Emil. "Oopsie."

Asta blinked again. “I... um... Nothing...? Do I have to?”

—————

Emil fell back easily, putting his arms up to hold onto her as he chuckled. “I see someone’s eager.”

—————

Meanwhile, Shuffle and Fia had finished their shared bottle of grape juice, so Shuffle was leading the way as they went around to find someone who didn’t seem too deep in conversation.

"Well," Adran took another swig, "You could use that information to inform how you flirt with her, compliment her. Or you could use it to factor into how you look for beauty in other women."

-----------------

"Hehe," Veo smirked and gave Emil a boop on the nose. "Looks like I spilled wine on your vest."

-----------------
Most of the party had actually split off into their individual groups for whatever they felt like talking and drinking over. Joanne wasn't engaged in conversation, but she also didn't seem to be in the mood for any shenanigans. Stick in the mud, she tended to be. Nalla seemed to have completely vanished, and Lyak was close to Erina, as always.

“Hm... And you think this will help?”

—————

Emil still smiled. “Ah, it’ll wash out. Besides, I’m beginning to think it’s only getting in the way right now.”

—————

Shuffle managed to find Corona standing alone, leaning heavily against a tree with her bottle. The centaur looked over as Shuffle approached. “Huh? What d’you want?”

Shuffle held up her bottle. “Me and Fia finished oursbut we want more. And Adran seems busy.”

Corona went quiet for a moment. Adran said to not give Shuffle a bottle, right? A taste wouldn’t hurt though. “This one’s mine, but open your mouth and I’ll give you a taste.”

Shuffle smiled and opened her mouth, letting Corona pour a bit in. “...woah, yours tastes different!”

“Yeah.” Corona took a drink herself. “There’s different flavors.”

Shuffle glanced around before wandering off to see who else would let her have a taste.

Adran shrugged, "It couldn't hurt your chances."

---------------------------
"Then how about we clear the way then?" Even drunk, Veo had the presence of mind to lock the door again, giving Emil a wink as she got up and stumbled over to the flap, getting the bars and ties into place so there wouldn't be any unexpected intrusions on the two.

---------------------------
If they were responsible and were within earshot when Adran asked Corona not to give Shuffle any alcohol, no one hopefully would. But Nyah wasn't too keen on letting the kids of the party get into the adult beverages, and decided to sidetrack Shuffle by using her magic to conjure different juices as a substitute until either Shuffle got bored or tired enough.

“Hm...” Asta thought about that as he kept drinking.

—————

Shuffle kept on making the rounds, even after being refused. She never did find anything that tastes like Corona’s juice, and apparently there weren’t any bottles to spare, so she kept looking for tastes.

Adran shrugged, then looked very confused as he found the bottle had mysteriously vanished. "I swear it was in my hand a second ago."

"Whatcha talking about?", Jerry asked, appearing behind them perched on top of a boulder with Adran's bottle in her hands.

----------------
"Shuffle," Nyah called when the fuzzy one went off to go try and get some more of what Corona had given her. She'd have to remember to scold that centaur later. Off in the corner Emfa had already passed out. She was one of the larger party members but not a strong drinker by comparison, and her bottle was still mostly full.

Asta flicked his ears and lifted his head to look over at Jerry.

—————

Shuffle stopped and looked over at Nyah.

A thud announced when Corona’s tree failed her, letting her fall over on her side.

"What, how'd you..."

"I walked," Jerry shrugged before draining the bottle and dropping it, somehow still walking normally compared to everyone else that was drunk and trying to move around. If anything, Jerry seemed to be having a much easier time than normal moving around. "What's this?", she held up an ornate band of leather with bits of a silver metal embedded into it, with a buckle where it could be opened up.

"Where did you get that?"

"Your tent."

"Why were you in my tent?"

"Saw something shiny in the crack of the flap," Jerry shrugged, twirling the item around in her claw. "You gonna tell me what it is, or not?"

"It's a collar."

----------------------
Joanne jumped at the thump, rushing over to make sure Corona hadn't been hurt on impact.

"Why don't you try...", Nyah picked up one of the discarded bottles and filled it with another juice, "Here." She handed the bottle over. It looked like she'd just magically refilled a goblin ale bottle, but all she did was replace the alcohol residue with non-alcoholic cider.

Asta kept watching them as he drank a bit more. The drink was strange at first, but it got better as he went. "A collar? You mean what someone suggested putting on Shuffle?"

----------

Corona pointed at Joanne as she approached. "Donchu fluppin touch me. I'll kick. I mean it." She took another drink.

Shuffle tilted her head as she took the bottle before taking a taste. She widened her eyes and looked at the bottle. "Oh! This one dances in my mouth!"

"Actually, no, I had that made back in the forge," Adran reached up to take the collar back, and Jerry just held her hand out of reach while she kept looking at it.

"Then what's it for?", Jerry raised an eyebrow. After a moment, she started laughing, "Do you have Erina wear it sometimes?"

"NO!", Adran loudly protested, then paused, "Actually, that's a good idea."

"Then what's it for?"

-------------------
"You are not the first horse to kick me," Joanne shook her head, not slowing or stopping her approach, "And you will not be the last." She was still bearing her armor charm, so she wasn't afraid of Corona's hoof in her gut, or anything like that.

"Do you like it?", Nyah asked, hoping that would be able to pacify Shuffle for a while.

"What are collars typically for in the first place? Besides leashes, apparently."

----------

Corona grunted as she kicked her legs out, mostly just flailing a bit and trying not to spill her drink. "No! I'ma fight! I'ma fight! Get me my spear!"

Shuffle nodded. "Yeah, ish good!" She took another drink and wandered off to find a place to sit.

"It's..." Adran tried to figure out how to explain it, "Complicated." He pointed at the collar Jerry was holding, "That was supposed to be my backup plan if I pissed Jerry off."

"What's it do, then?"

"It's pretty, don't worry about it," Adran shook his head. He reached down for the bag to pull out another bottle, and found that missing too. "Jerry."

"I didn't take it," Jerry pointed at Beri dragging the bag away to keep his master from getting wasted again.

-------------
"I will not." Joanne crossed her arms. Joanne, Emfa, and Corona's armor and weapons were well-outside arm's reach for Corona, hanging on tree limbs because they couldn't fit anywhere else, or sitting stored away in the tent.

Nyah nodded, that had worked. She didn't even question the slurring of words, the djinn was tired, she'd been conjuring a lot today.

Asta raised an eyebrow. "What does it do?" The fact that he was avoiding a direct answer made Asta curious and a little suspicious.

----------

"You would dare attack me un-" Corona stopped to take a drink. "Unarmed!?"

Adran chose not to answer that query, instead getting up to pursue the leopard that had stolen the happy juice. "Well," Jerry looked down at the collar, "You wanna find out what it does?"

-------------
"And you are not armed?" Joanne looked down at the steel shoed on Corona's hooves. "Were I not so well defended, I daresay you would have caved in my skull." She crossed her arms, "I am bound by no oath to face an opponent in honorable combat, only to ensure the dead stay in the next life and the living do not create monsters."

Asta sat up a bit, though he found himself a bit wobbly. "How would we?"

----------

"I am doing neither! Why do you assault me!? And no, I have no weapon!"

"Put it on?", Jerry held up and opened the buckle and smiled, "It looks like it would be cute against your mane."

-------------
"And I have not assaulted you, yet." Joanne took a seat, "But should you prove unruly and a danger I will put you down swiftly." Veo could attest to that fact, were she not otherwise engaged at the moment.

Asta felt his cheeks blush, though it couldn't quite be seen through his fur. "You think so?"

----------

"Unruly and dangerous is almost required to serve my mis- hic - I mean, Misery."

"Yeah," Jerry nodded, "It's a nice contrast," she held it up to Asta's darker mane to show him, but it was difficult to find a place where Asta could turn his head and see it.

-------------------
"Unruly and dangerous will lead only to your downfall."

Asta tried, but he couldn't see. "Well, if you think so..."

----------

"And I'm gonna have a great time getting there."
