I'm gonna go ahead and post the character sheet so we can get all of the excitement of making characters out of the way, however we won't be able to start the group until around the beginning of August, hope that's okay! Spoiler: Biography

At the young age of 2 years old, Tano was diagnosed with a mild case of Myastenia Gravis, a rare autoimmune disease that destroys the communication with nerves and muscles. It was caught when a routine checkup led to the discovery of his very droopy eyes and double vision. He had received treatment and was doing fine for the next few years, but the treatment was expensive, and his father's auto repair shop was not covering the bill. Ultimately, his mother made the decision to stop paying for the treatment, stating that Tano can just suck it up, lots of people have droopy eyes. Tano's condition inevitably grew worse, and when he lost the ability to swallow at age 5, his mother caved in and brought him to the hospital. There, Tano stayed for years, his condition. roller coaster, sometimes being able to play ball with the other kids, sometimes stuck being wheeled around in a wheel chair. After years of treatment, an experimental cure did what most doctors believe couldn't be done, cure Tano of his disease. With nothing more than lasting vision issues, tunnel vision, the boy was finally free to leave the hospital.

Too bad he didn't want to go.

Never a fan of change, Tano had gotten used to life in the hospital, and had grew quite attached to many of the children he played with. His mother was furious on the day of his departure when he tried to hide in another child's room. She grabbed him by the arm and dragged him out, cursing him for how much he had cost her. She refused to ever bring him back, and he couldn't bring himself to keep asking. Once outside of the hospital, Tano began apprenticeship under his father at the auto repair shop while going to school. During his last year of high school, while his peers applied for other schools, he kept working at the shop. His mother refused to pay for any more of his schooling, having given up so much for him already. His father, who drank himself to sleep every night, was more than happy to hand over the shop to his son once he graduated. So that's what he did, Tano threw his cap in the air with his classmates, then walked off to work. He didn't mind, it was his repentance for the medical bills after all.

Tano was finishing with a woman customer at the shop when she thanked him for his service perhaps too affectionately. Luckily for him, the woman fainted, and when she finally came to, she thought it was all just a dream that she saw an ox with black circles around its eyes to match the glasses of the boy that turned into it.

Spoiler: Personality

Tano is a very simple person with a simple life and he likes it that way. The new addition of a crazy curse is not something he particularly was happy with, changes don't agree with him, but luckily this change came with an old normal, his friends from the hospital, which made the change a little less difficult to deal with. Now, as far as he is concerned, the Zodiac curse is the new normal, and that's all there is to it. He must have done something to deserve it, so who is he to try and break the curse?

While he is more than willing to take the punishment for his own mistakes, he does his best to keep his friends from having it. He will gladly put himself into danger to protect his friends. Despite being soft-spoken and not the brightest, he does his best to be a sort of big brother, someone they can ll rely on.

  Haru is a sickly young man; pale and thin, while not overly so, but still enough for one to see at a first glance that his health is not optimal. He tends to carry himself delicately and move gingerly due to his ill health. Despite this, he has a friendly and approachable disposition and air about him that leads others to consider him trustworthy. His voice is light and breezy, typically carrying a hint of almost childlike whimsy, and his brown eyes likewise seem to glint with naive wonder - or perhaps mischief.
  
  Haru doesn't care much about his appearance, and tends to dress fairly simply - jeans, t-shirt, sneakers, hoodies, maybe a button down and cardigan with a scarf. His left ear is peirced and he wears a single black stud in it. His brown hair is shaggy and nearly touches his shoulders, which is a bit longer than when he was a child; if one were to discard the natural rules of hair growth, it might appear that he hadn't had a haircut between the ages of six and twenty one. In fact, aside from hair length and height, he looks very similar to the child that first entered the hospital.
• PERSONALITY

  The personality Haru shows to the world is an agreeable young man. He is kind, maybe a bit childish, and easygoing. However, he secretly harbors a lot of resentment and pessimistic ideologies because of his ill health and life in hospitalization.
  
  Some of the nurses who have worked with him claimed that - had it not been for his afflictions - he would have been a good kindergarten or preschool teacher. It is true - he has a knack for keeping up with childish energy, and can be very patient and understanding. He enjoys spending time in the children's wing of the hospital for this reason, and nostalgic reasons. Similarly, geriatric patients love to dote on him, but it quickly becomes grating on his nerves because the stories of their life and pity-filled assurances or well-wishing remind him of his inability to live a normal one.
  
  Haru has complicated feelings towards his friends (The Zodiacs). On one hand, he truly likes his friends as people and cherishes the time they spend (and spent) together, but he is also immensely envious of them for being able to leave the hospital and live life on their own terms, and (mostly) hates them for leaving him. Hence the... you know... curse.
  
  Haru views the curse itself as simultaneously a means of revenge and a way to reconnect with the Zodiacs. The curse essentially forces everyone to be on a similar page again, and once everyone starts to realize the commonality of the hospital stay, they will reach out to him as well - and then they will remain friends this time. He also views it like a punishment for forgetting about him when they got better and left the hospital. They cannot be close to a normal person, just as Haru can never live a life of normalcy himself, serving as an act of karmic justice. He also does not think the curse is necessarily a bad thing at all - his condition is far worse. In fact, the Zodiacs are lucky his wish just turned them into animals!

  BIOGRAPHY

  Unlike most six-year-olds, Haru liked his stay at the hospital. That's where he met his best friends. In between tests being run and specialists analyzing him, he found true companionship and made friends - a group of best friends.
  
  And then they started leaving. His friends, one by one. They got better. Except Haru.
  
  He didn't understand at first. What child would? His parents would explain until they'd cry, then the doctor would explain until they'd be called way, then the nurses would try until they too would leave, but he would still ask them all, "Why?" He still has that question, to be quite honest.
  
  He was sick, that much is true. He would never get better. He could never leave the hospital. Much like his friends, Haru grew up, but in many ways he never did. While adulthood for everyone else meant employment or romantic endeavors, Haru's meant a move to the adult wing of the hospital and permission to leave for a few hours on good days, health permitting.
  
  He met others after his first group of friends, sure, but even while they did not reach Haru in such a way that he still remembers fondly like his first group of friends - his best friends - they would do to pass the loneliness and monotony of the sterile environment he now calls home. But the patients would all get better and leave, or they'd die and leave, and the nurses and doctors would only be doing their job and clock out at the end of their shift, or have to go see another patient.
  
  Ever so slowly as the years wore on, the bitterness he kept hidden began to eat away at him. Every day he'd wake up to see the same sterile halls and loathe it, the same routine over and over. One night, after the nurse put him to bed, in the dark of his room, Haru bit into his pillow and screamed. He cursed whatever god caused him such torture, he cursed his parents for bringing him into the world so broken, and - most of all - he cursed his friends for daring to live the life he can't.

  He finds it hard to be sympathetic to other's problems because he feels he's had it worse, but outwardly pretends to sympathize.
  

  Haru is a professional guinea pig; in exchange for agreeing to be studied, giving blood and tissue samples to research institutions, letting med students practice on him, taking experimental drugs, etc., his medical costs are fully covered.
  

  In the event Haru does get some spending money, he spends it frivilously. Since he doesn't have to worry about rent or anything like that, he has never had to learn wise spending habits.
  

  Haru spends most of his pocket money on pastries from cafes and bakeries. He likes pastries. His favorite are chocolate croissants.
  

  Haru is fond of storytelling, and as a child used to make up stories to tell others. He does that now, too; he's a habitual liar.

Konno is soft-spoken and aloof; a bitter young thing disillusioned with the hand that life has given him. He’s terribly shy and meek, and has been since he was a child. Just like his zodiac counterpart, he has an innate instinct to deal with his problems by running away and hiding, a fact that he hates about himself. Although he is somewhat strange and withdrawn, those who get to know him describe him as effortlessly kind, almost to a fault, with an instinct to cater to others.

Konno Akira had the privilege of experiencing a relatively pleasant childhood, raised with love and attention by his single mother. However, at the age of 7, Konno’s health took a sudden and unexpected nosedive. He was uncharacteristically fatigued, and could barely move his body well enough to get out of bed, suffering frequent nosebleeds that would last for hours. He had developed aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease in which his bone marrow stopped producing enough red blood cells. Though he hated his time at the hospital, he remembers the time spent with his new friends fondly, even though he only got to know them for two years before being released.

His adult life has consisted of long nights in the library that he now works at, his books and paperwork enough to keep him company. Often he keeps to himself, and this pattern has only increased since he bumped into his only coworker one day to discover that he had turned into a little gray rabbit.

  PERSONALITY:
  
  Shou hates being told what to do, mostly because he was told what to do his whole life. He had rebelled from said orders in minute ways, staying up passed bedtime, sneaking out late, loosening his tie, etc, but not in a way that would ever deem him satisfied. He takes advantage of any moment to go out and do something fun, and oddly enough is pretty good at not getting in trouble for doing so, can't say the same for his companions.
  
  His biggest passion is photography. Shou loves to take pictures with his camera, capture the beauty of the world around him. It is his wish to one day travel the world, live life, be his own person. All he needs is the courage to take the first step forward, which unfortunately is something he lacks. The longing to leave and fear to go is what makes Shou not a particularly happy camper, although he will do his best to hide it.   Biography:
  
  Shou is the youngest of five sons in the wealthy Oshiro family. The Oshiros hold large shares in many big branch companies. And yet, there wasn't much stock to go around. The Oshiros did not need another son, the other older ones already destined to continue the family line. Most of his young childhood was with the nanny at home, separate from his family and people in general save for the occasional public appearance. With the nanny as his only friend, he liked to play games with her, particularly Hide and Seek because she could never find him and so he would have time to himself.
  
  Despite his secluded upbringing, he did manage to contract a terrible case of Salmonella, which was what brought him to the hospital. His disease was cured relatively quickly, but perhaps no one told his family that, for he was kept there for years afterwards. Perhaps the medical bill was cheaper than the nanny? Regardless, Hide enjoyed his time at the hospital more than he did at home. He had may friends to play with and they actually enjoyed his company. Many a time he would lead them out on secret expeditions, sneaking around the hospital going to places they weren't allowed to go. Hide was never caught, but sometimes his friends were.
  
  When his family finally decided to pick him up from the hospital, Shou was more than ready to go. As much as he liked hanging out with his friends, he was tired of the pale walls and halls he saw day in and out. Shou wanted to go on real expeditions, see the world, capture the pictures that were thrown thoughtlessly on the walls to make the hospital look more homey. For the next few years, he did not get his wish, going back to homeschooling and eventually online college. One day, Shou had enough, determined to tell his parents he was leaving. Biography:
Akihiko was born a happy baby boy. He grew into a toddler who grew into an pre-school child, much like anyone else. Until one day, while his father drove him home from school, Aki said something and then there was nothing. Later, he woke to an ambulance ride and worried EMTs. He did not understand what was going on. He asked for his dad.

He was alone in a white hospital for days on end, and not allowed to run around or do anything stressful. They said his arm was broken and something had happened to his heart and they were working on a solution. They weren't sure what the entire problem was yet, but the adults promised to find out soon. He asked for his dad again, and his mom did not answer. Akihiko assumed for a long time that his father was also healing from the car crash. A cast and a curiosity didn't slow him down, but unfortunately when he asked for his dad at the nurse's station...

He found out his father died because Aki had distracted him. It wasn't the whole truth, but to a young Aki, it was the only thing that made sense. "I distracted him from driving, and he died."

At his lowest, he met Haru and the others. Quickly they became close and for a while, things were going well and the hospital was no longer lonely and waiting to see what would happen next. Then one day they found out what it was. A rare heart disease on top of the trauma of the crash, and not too long after figuring it out, Akihiko was set to have a heart transplant. When he awoke, he had a new heart and his time in the hospital was winding to an end. He couldn't figure out if he was happy to finally leave and to be free to run around, or sad to be leaving the friends he'd made. It didn't matter what he wanted, he quickly realized. The truth was simply it was going to happen because they said so.

As he got older, he debated on what he wanted to be. Older was still a strange concept, given the giant hole in his soul where his Dad had been, the fact he was so long in waiting at the hospital, and being a loner. He liked to tell small fortunes for other students, but he was still mostly avoided as the strange kid. So he quietly obtained information on his fellow students, and sold it or scared the people who laughed at his fortunes. Now, he mostly gathers information in a freelance way while going to college. While telling a fortune in a small alleyway, his female client leapt up and hugged him. Normally, he'd be irritated but fine with it, but this time he turned into a snake.

Which of course terrified the woman, who screamed and ran away. Now afraid of any touch, Aki is trying to find out what's going on and why, desperate for things to go back to how it was.

Personality:
If you ask any of his classmates, he's a bonafide mystic. Able to know things about students that no one should know. If you ask him, he's a psychic like anyone is actually psychic: the power of cold and hot reading. Also a lot of social media digging. No one can hurt him if he's read them completely and so thoroughly. Truth is that he studies people and is good at manipulation. Underneath he's worried about their opinions, and will lash out if anyone calls him on it. He also refuses to talk about his time in the hospital at all, seeing it as happening to another kid. A happier one. However, he's loyal to a fault, and would probably be weak to requests to those from the hospital, so he tries to avoid them where possible.

However, that seems to be unlikely to continue.

Towa is a kind-hearted girl who just wants what's best for everyone around her. Sometimes these desires can take the front even over her own needs and dreams, but she feels that her family deserves it more than her after the fire. She's extremely protective of her siblings, and can sometimes come across as overbearing, but she means well.

This protectiveness can sometimes rear its head as Towa being fiery or mean, but really she just doesn't want anyone to get hurt.
This stems from her own fear of being alone and getting hurt, which is why she's never gotten close to anyone since the fire happened. Instead, she's remained close with her siblings and pushed everybody else away. The new houseful of people is hard for her to handle as it not only messes with her studies, but also her ability to keep people away.

Towa has always been a straight-A student and is known for her musical ability on the piano. She also writes music, but doesn't share it with anyone out of fear that they'll tell her it's bad. She tends to practice her music at the grand piano in the common area, however when things are too noisy or chaotic she explodes. She's a bit of a tsunedere in a way, but really Towa just wants what's best for her family.

Towa was born into a loving home with her two siblings. Things were always happy and fun, her mother made sure of it. While their father was away at work, their mother would take them on outings or teach them to play the piano or simply just talk with them rather than down to them, even as children. Things weren’t perfect of course, because no one’s life was, but to Towa it was pretty damn close.

She was eleven years old when things came crashing down on them. Literally. Their mother had gone out to the grocery store after putting the kids down for naps and leaving Towa in charge while she was away. Though she was older, she fell asleep as well with a candle burning in the kitchen. It tipped and set a fire that no one realized until their mother ran in screaming and crying, trying to get all of her children out.

While everyone made it out of the house, *not* everyone made it home from the hospital. Towa’s mother died that day and her twin brother was admitted to the hospital for nearly a year due to how much smoke he took in. After their mother passed, things changed. They barely saw their father before, but now they never saw him. He left them in a new and unfamiliar mansion with staff to help them, but he was never to be seen.

Towa takes the blame of the fire and their mother’s death on her own shoulders and is extremely protective of her brother ever since he left the hospital. Now she is a freshman in college and working on a music degree, but it’s hard to focus on assignments and papers when she’s still holding onto her past traumas.

When her brother comes to her about the curse with *insert zodiac character here* to prove what’s going on, she immediately goes into protective mode. However, as she’s trying to play mother to everyone and figure out what and why this is all happening, her schoolwork begins to slip which her father makes very clear shouldn’t be happening.

  Kagura was dubbed in her high school years as an ice queen. This is mostly because of her very quiet but stand-offish demeanor that comes off a little cold and heartless. In truth, this is primarily a defense mechanism to keep her emotions in check. After losing her parents, Kagura has a deep fear of losing the ones she cares about and part of her believes that if she doesn’t make those connections, it will be easier on her when they eventually leave. So, she often plays the cool and collected type, playing things off with a flat expression and a cold stare.
  
  If you were to dig deeper past that persona, you will find something that is quite soft. She hates bugs. Scary movies are her worse nightmare. And she loves cheesy romance books. In fact, there are a lot of these small things that really contradict that ice queen persona. She would never show these things for fear that someone might see her as childish or weak. She deeply cares for those that are close to her and is willing to put herself on the line to take care of them, even when they are on her bad side.   HISTORY:
  
  Kagura had always been a little bit of an odd one out of her family. Unlike her mother and her siblings, she was more into the sciences than art. In the little time her father was home, she would enjoy hearing about his work and the various business deals he was working on. There were often times that she would greatly miss him when she wasn’t enjoying what the family was up to that day. However, Kagura would never say she hated her childhood. Her mother was kind and often did try to get Kagura involved and enjoy herself. In fact, her mother was the one that got her into cheesy fantasy books, often reading stories about princesses and fairies to get them to go to bed.
  
  At age eleven, everything changed. Her mother had left to go to the grocery store, letting the kids nap as she did. Her mother left Towa in charge, a decision that will always haunt Kagura. She would never understand why, just because she was a few minutes older, Towa was considered the ‘more mature’ out of the two of them. A lingering question that warps into the worse thoughts on the bad days. For she would never get to ask her mother why. For on that day, a candle that Towa left out fell over and set fire to their family home. Their mother returned from her shopping to a house in flames. Desperate, she ran in to save her children, hoping to save them.
  
  Their mother was able to get them out of the house but at a severe cost. Mom died from the burn she received from saving them and their brother inhaled so much smoke, that he had to be hospitalized for a year. Kagura felt lost. Her entire life was flipped upside down and her father was nowhere in sight to help guide them. It was then that Kagura decided to take charge of her own life and become the ‘mature’ person that her mother should have trusted that day to watch over them. She would visit her brother every day, making sure he was never alone. She would read to him or just keep him company. It is also through this that she decided she wanted to be a doctor.
  She adopted her notable cold personality after entering Junior High. It was her way of coping with the lost and trauma of the fire. But she still keeps that soft heart buried in there so no one can see it.
  
  Kagura is not super keen on the fact that all these random keep moving into their house. But, after being shown undeniable proof of the curse and how that affected their brother, she could help but wonder herself; Why did this happen? BIOGRAPHY:
Kinu was born with a heart murmur but managed to live life normally until she was ten years old. At that point, her heart was pumping too weakly for her body to get adequate blood flow. And the only solution was a transplant. And until they found one, she had to wait in the hospital to make sure she did not stress her body. It was almost two years until her name came up on the list, but she remembered them fondly. She remembered exploring the hospital with a group of children, her friends she loved so much they were family. But still, after the operation went well, she had to leave.

With a new heart, Kinu lost any free time she had. Immediately, she entered cram school, to make sure she hadn’t fallen behind her peers. It spurred her to work hard, hoping to study medicine in university, with a specialization in pediatrics. Her younger siblings, (7 years younger) and (9 years younger) were under her care as her mother returned to work at the hospital admittance department. Her father, an accountant, was also rarely home, as the family worked to pay off the debt from her long-term hospital stay. As soon as she was old enough, working at the daycare her siblings attended was worked into her schedule. She adores it, taking each day as a lesson for her future medical career.

She was almost done with college, cramming to test into medical school. She still worked for the daycare, though her younger siblings no longer attended it, studying themselves. And one night, when she was alone in the library, finishing an essay, something just broke. Her fears of failing overran her, the stress of the upcoming test flooded through her, and instead of bursting into tears (her normal method of dealing with them), she turned into a goat.

PERSONALITY:
Though she truly believes she has the responsibility to give back, she doesn’t resent it. Most of her duties she enjoys: they’re challenges and she loves rising to meet them. Even if she doesn’t: she’s big on doing what needs to be done without complaint. It’s not that she doesn’t have fun; it’s just usually with people under 18. For all her work, Kinu usually fades into the background. She doesn’t like standing out, even with her successes. Her kindnesses are usually small, and as she puts it, she doesn’t have time to get angry. She believes in making the world a better place every day.
