Gough found the request from the smaller smell known as Red. He couldn't very well pet Ashley put he decided he needed to do something to calm her. So Gough ,without even needing to lean over, stretched out his arms and scooped up Ashley with his left hand and very carefully patting her head with his right index finger. Sniffing several times to make a clear picture of how much force he needed so as not to break the girl. "I understand you're frustrated but this anger is unwarranted." Gough said keep an hear out for the other man who called himself Thrax.

Thrax looked at the girl, she looked as if she'd blown a fuse. He didn't want to get in any fights but with his claws and pride petting someone was odd and seemed beneath him but luckily Gough appeared to have it under control. He walked up to Red "What was that all about kid looked like she was out for blood" he said, keeping an eye on Gough and Ashley to see if she'd calmed down.

Ashley's hair slowly faded back to it's average dark black until her eyes seemed to droop and a small smile had appeared on her lips, happiness quite evident on every feature of her body, replacing the previous pure rage she had shown

"W-well... Mistress Ashley has a bit of a temper, going so far as to destroy the house in fits of rage. For whatever reason, petting seems to be the only way of calming her down when she gets in that state." Red sighed with relief, happy that Ashley wasn't angrey anymore

Venus’ eyebrows shot straight up in surprise and she laughed, quite taken back by how forward he was being. He was using her own techniques against her; information gathering disguised as flirting. He didn’t have to though, she was an open book. Keeping secrets wasn’t going to help anyone else in this situation, and after watching him a moment ago, she didn’t feel the need to hide anything from him.


“My, Nightwing, aren’t you forward! And a charmer. I’m not quite used to that,” she grinned, adding cheekily, unable to resist, “And I suppose you’ll have to find out on your own if I’m dirty minded, won’t you?”


She returned his firm grip with one of her own, her smile still in place, “I don’t know that I’m a hero, but I do try my best. I help where I can! I think my friends are a little more heroic than I am. As far as powers go, yes, I suppose I did have some.”


At his last question her face fell and she sighed, letting go of his hand and running her fingers through her hair in frustration, her other hand on her hip, “No, I don’t know how to fight, and I’m regretting it deeply right now. I generally don’t have to fight, I'd much prefer to stop it. I leave fighting to my teammates..” She trailed off, looking back up at him with a wry smile on her face, “Clearly, you know how to fight; I’m quite envious of you. And you seem like you do it often. Tell me, Nightwing, do you have any idea what’s going on?”

Once it seemed like Ashley calmed down he gently set his left hand on the ground so that she could climb out of it. He found the girl to be odd but that was the least of his worries. Gough sniffed and cocked his head back in the direction of Oolacile. Strange creatures could be seen crawling down towards them. " Prepare to run! They've sensed the flame of life and come to extinguish it."

Issei let his eyes take on the rare dragon-like ones that rarely showed when he was extremely pissed. "i will not spend a night in bed with your instincts. I want to bed YOU eventually after you become mine. NOT your instincts that are driving you to fuck me." he gave her a look. He liked Etna, not her instincts overwriting her judgement.

"Fine..." She sighed, not scared in the slightest by is strange eye-change. "If you want me to like you, it's impossible. I've driven it into my brain to trust noone, every demon in the underworld wants my head, you seem different, but I will not and will not ever trust you enough" she said adamantly, her eyes a little dull, as if she was tired of having to repeat herself. He, after all, was not the first to approach her the same way

"Oh? Now that's bullshit. I'm sure you have men lining up at your doorstep every day to try and go on a date with you. But, no such luck as you're obviously flirting now." Scratching his head, Dick grinned Venus gave him her hand shake fit for a goddess. "Hey, a hero in my book is someone that tries to protect the innocent. You help where you can? You're a hero."


What powers Venus had prior to this planet moving thing did intrigue Richard greatly. "I would ask for what your abilities were, however, I believe that would bring sorrow to you. I'll ask once we get to know each other better." Seeing her face drop, Dick sighed. "Sorry. I've been training since the age of twelve. It's not something you can learn by looking at it once."


"You shouldn't be envious however. If you really want to be a hero, I can train you." He offered, creating another opportunity to gather some more information. "And I have a theory, but I can't say just yet. It may not be correct."

Issei chuckled now that Etna was talking normally again. Only now did he give her a quick kiss on her cheek. "if thats the only problem. then all i have to do is prove that i want you, right? and along the way i'll also prove that i don't want you because of whatever ulterior motive you seem to suspect me of." He smiled brightly, his eyes returning to normal with a spark of determination. He would prove that he pnly wanted Etna for Etna, not whatever stupid other reason people tried to get her for. "but if you could tell me the names of these people that used you..." his eyes turned draconic again. "... i'd be happy to beat them into a pulp for hurting my dream girl's heart."

Thrax chuckled "What's this.. a pathetic challenge?" He said snidley at the monsters approaching. He casually walked towards the creatures, even without his fire his claws were deadly sharp. If he had a chance to kill he would take it. "You cats can go but i'll be happy to disembowel these little mutants" he said smiling.

PRIME


Kevin looked to the skies. He had been Prime for a few months now. He'd met the president and gone to space. There was no way he was going back. "No more powers means no more Ultras..." The lad thought to himself "And no more Ultras means no more Prime!" Continuing on his walk to school, his thoughts wandered. "Wait, why Canoga Park? Out of all the places in the world- Out of all the places in California- Out of all the places in LA, why here?"

Venus shrugged slightly, her smile small and sad, "I mean, I guess there's some people who are interested, but I don't tend to reciprocate. Being in a relationship with me is... difficult." She wasn't quite ready to tell him she was immortal; that tended to freak people out. And it prevented her from pursuing mortals that were interested in her for reasons other than sex.


Her smile brightened when he called her a hero; she really didn't see herself that way, but it was nice to hear, nonetheless. "I don't mind you asking about my powers; they're clearly not helpful now. And if I ever get them back, and we're still together, it might be useful for you to know, right?" A small voice in the back of her head that sounded a lot like Namora was telling her to shut it, that she was always too trusting, and that someone might abuse that trust. She didn't know this "Nightwing," and she should keep her powers to herself. She ignored that voice.


"I'm a Siren. My voice, and my singing, has... an effect on people. That's why I don't know how to fight. I'll ask them to please stop fighting, and they do," she grinned, before adding, "Oh, and I can fly too. That's pretty useful."


When he offered to train her she clapped in excitement. A chance to not be useless! And, a chance to learn more about what might be going on. She'd take it in a heartbeat. "That would be wonderful! If it's not too much trouble, of course. And you can tell me your theory you know. I might be able to help?"

Ashley was happy now after being petted, only to be brought back to reality by the booming voice of the giant called Gough. "Red! Staff, now!" She called. "Y-yes Ashley!" Red replied as he transformed into what appeared to be a large cluster of yellow branches with a large red sphere at the end. She tried casting a spell but it didn't seem to work. "Red, what's wrong with you, summon a fire or something so we can kill these monsters" she hissed

Gough turned and could hear all the Bloat head residences running at the three at them. Gough couldn't see it but even with their strange appearance they appeared sickly, visibly weaker. What Gough could hear was that they were staggering. The dome must have weakened their connection to the Abyss. So they scattered in the hope of gaining power from consuming the souls of the living. Gough was easily able to kill several of them at a time simply by crashing his arms down into a crowd of them. Staining his fists with their black blood.

"I'm much stronger than I look, a demon Lord doesn't get the title just by looking pretty"

Issei grinned just as evilly as Etna. sure he wasn't normally a bad person, but with his dream girl involved... he was willing to kill. "and sorry, but you couldn't kill me even if you wanted. i can fight on par with the four great satans.... in your terms they would be the four strongest demon lords."

Thrax went after the closest creature which pretty much wanted nothing to do with him but he cleanky sliced it into ribbons. His next target was coming at him swinging, Thrax smoothly got out of the way and came from behind his opponent grabbing both arms it had until they were ripped off and then he turned sharply using his hypothalamus bracelet to choke the creatures friend until its neck snapped. He sneered at the beasts letting three approach him at once. The first was impaled but still got a good slash at him causing his chest to bleed but Thrax wasn't fazed but amused that that was the best the creature could do. Normally he would have made some snappy remarks but he doubted it would even be worth his time.

Nightwing


"Difficult relationships? Ha! Try me." Nightwing smirked, thought it wasn't something he should be proud of and he knew it. His last relationship didn't work out too well. "Look, nothing you can say will be of any surprise to me. Trust me, I've seen some weird stuff...like clown villains. Man, those guys are stupid." With a sigh, he watched as Venus brightened up and so did he.


"But that's why you may get offended. You do not have access to your powers when I do." Smirking, Dick decided to finish his statement with a wink and a chuckle. "Devilish good looks." Agreeing with her, Richard had to hold up his hands. "Still together? You make it sound like we're a couple. I'm not against it, but too soon, don't you think? At least buy me a coffee first."


Taking mental notes, he found several counters to her abilities right away. Her abilities sounded hearing based. Batman was sure to have something which he used for Black Canary, so that should work. "I see. Sounds like mind control." He said, nodding as she continued. "But I understand why you never trained before. It's fine, don't worry about it Venus."


Venus agreed to Richard being her instructor and he grinned. "Alright. But, we don't start with training our body first. You may snap and go insane..." Dick phrased it as a joke, but his tone was dead serious. "And, sorry. Can't be giving away all my secrets on the first date can I."

If there's anything stronger than me, I'd laugh and call you a liar." She giggled but a small bit of sadness could be heard in her voice as she remembered the old Demon lord, the one whom she had to kill and had been her crush for a while

"well being the strongest is lonely. so if your the strongest, i'll surpass you so that you won't be lonely." He smiled as he watched Etna's face carefully. His smile died slightly at hearing the bit of sadness in her voice. "you've had to kill someone you liked before.... haven't you?" This time Ddraig borrowed Issei's voice. The dragon and Issei had been thinking the same thing. But since Issei liked Etna, he couldn't bring himself to question her... Ddraig on the other hand wanted to confirm his and Issei's thoughts.

Venus was completely oblivious to any sort of mental notes Nightwing might be taking. She had already categorized him as a “good guy,” in her head, and had no intention of using her powers on him. The thought didn’t cross her mind that he might be suspicious of her, as she rarely dealt with people who regarded her with distrust.


Venus laughed sheepishly, her cheeks turning the slightest shade of pink. He really was amusing, and even though she knew he was flirting for information gathering, she allowed herself have some fun with it. “A date? I wasn’t thinking that, but since you brought it up, I’m not opposed. Do you normally beat up bad guys on a first date with a woman?” She gestured behind her, adding, “I would buy you a coffee, you know, if you come over to my city. Where they take my card. I don’t know that I could buy you anything in Gotham.”


Continuing, she nodded at his explanation. “I guess it is mind control, among other things. I don’t use it unless it’s to prevent people from hurting each other, or being hurt, or if I’m desperate. Or…. by accident…” she whispered the end of her sentence, remembering a particular incident where she had nearly turned her team on each other unintentionally, in her moment of extreme despair.


Sighing, she smiled sadly, “I can understand why you wouldn’t want to share, and that’s your right. I just… I feel useless and lost, and I want to help, but don’t know how. I don’t even know where to begin.” She looked off down the street, her eyes a little unfocused, and all traces of her smile gone. She hated feeling like this.

"I don't know what demon lords are like where you come from, but the title here means you become the biggest target in the universe, nobody is to be trusted as even one minor slip-up gets you killed. It keeps me focused, strong and vigilant. This is why I am the demon lord and not some other succubus" she finished, her chest rising and descending after her little rant

Issei stepped forward and hugged Etna. "you've worked hard for it. i understand that now. but still, i know on some level that your lonely. everyone either wants your title, a favor, some other thing from you. and the people you thought to trust turned on you." Issei actually started tearing up thinking about the things his dream girl had gone through. All of his normal carefree/perverseness left, leaving a serious demeanor. "i will become stronger than you and take that burden off you. i will bare that pain of your position for you."


Issei noticed he wasn't acting like his normal self. He really wanted his dream girl to smile, a REAL smile. He reached around and started feeling her chest again, letting a pleased sounding sigh escape him. yeah he knew he might get slapped again. But anything that got Etna to smile would be worth it. "ah~ as i thought... your chest is the best~"
