[Come on, Baby, Light My Fire] The Metaworld

James is most definitely combat capable, what with Arete in Marksmanship.

As for what types of adventures I like, anything really Esbilon. I do enjoy having the opportunity to deal with moral issues with my character, and I like things to be more interactive with NPCs (basically dialogue-y). Of course, you're already doing plenty of dialogue-y stuff, so I'm pretty much happy with that.

EDIT: really the only thing that I'd like more of is direction (at least plot-wise, he'll develop his own direction in time as things go on, but with regards to the plot he doesn't exactly know where to start), as I hate metagaming my character into doing things, but realistically he has no idea what he is supposed to be doing in the situation he is in.

About game-types, well, I find myself enjoying Scion games that echo a myth or a legend, but in a vague way...like the way I build my Scions, I have them echo their Divine Parents in teenie tiny ways. So if say, we start off a game but then as we go on and the players piece together that the themes of the events echo "The Journey to the West" we would then have an idea of what to expect or where to go next. Of course you could have multiple similar legendary themes running together since we have a cross pantheon party and watch us go spare trying to figure out how it all fits together.

I'm still trying to figure out how best I could play Yuu, but as I've stated her as an all-rounder as a nod to the legends of the shinobi, she could fit fairly well in most types of games...not to mention that she is pretty much a walking armoury. Also, I'm looking to make her a master of the art of throwing stuff, there's just something satisfying about a short young woman throwing car at a giant hard enough that it counts as a piercing weapon, but of course it would be more satisfying if literally no one sees it coming and it got bounced off a building or two just to make sure no one knew where it came from.

So, in short, as long as there's an odd echoing of legends in the game, I'm a happy camper no matter what kind of game.

By the way, don't you guys find it funny that all our Scions seem to have this theme of family running in their respective pairs? Yuu and Makoto, step-sisters, one with an estranged mother and another with an honoured father. Lorelei and Ashley, half-sisters who have grown along similar paths even if they had never met. James and Luke, nephew and uncle amongst Greeks...

As far as tone and aesthetics go I am a fan of things being over the top, the action being cinematic and a bit ridiculous (e.g. we are trying to stop ice giants from building nuclear weapons that they intend to detonate and create a nuclear winter to usher in an ice age. So we end up stealing their uranium and we flee in a crazy car chase scene through the alps and one of us causes an avalanche to get them off of our tails before we reach the drop off point.), the drama being overly dramatic/emotional, and the costumes being fancy/ridiculous.

In general the game types/styles I prefer involve urban fantasy, psychological thrillers, action adventure, espionage, politics or conflict resolution. Narratives that speak about empowerment, change, and making a difference also appeal to me. I am not too keen on investigative stories as I never ask the right questions for them, and puzzles give me problems as most of them fly over my head. I'm not upset by them being in a game, I just dont have the out of character skillset for them and would rely on the other party members to solve the problem.

I am having fun with some of these things with Lorelei and her Sanguine Voice persona, I get to ham it up and wear fancy costumes. She isnt of much use in a physical sense, but she isnt that type of character. As she grows and gets more comfortable in her supernatural skin I imagine her persuading people who were once enemies to unite behind whatever cause she ends up championing, building a large cult out of her musical fans either for the needs of her pantheon or her band(i.e. whichever one she forms a higher loyalty to), and tinkering behind the scenes to build stages and sets that turn into giant robots if she is ever attacked mid-concert (oh Concept to Execution, how I love thee). I'm aiming to make her a goddess of creativity/inspiration by the time we reach godhood so that helps in focusing her concept.

Ha! Jotunblut isn't supposed to work on beings with pre-existing Legend scores! Therefore, any Æsir with Creatures that have both Legend 2+ and Dire Endowment are CHEATERS!

...sometimes, I think maybe I take these things too seriously...

...nah...

Starting from now, I'm gonna be scarcer than common sense around a Scion for the weekend, so yeah, I won't be here for Sunday's session.

You guys have fun, 'kay?

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you expect this to be a permanent thing?

I'm very sorry guys, but I'm cancelling the Sunday session this week. This is particularly crummy of me in light of the less than impressive session we had last week, but there it is.

Nah stuff comes up. Do whatever you need to do (we should totes get free xp this is not a subliminal message at all don't read this)!

Oh ouch, sorry about that Esbilon, wish you the best in what you need to do.

As a note, I'm back. Brutal week is done!

In case anyone were wondering, this is how Thor looks.

I can make it but since we are in the middle of raiding a base I want all combat characters on board
