Hey gang, sorry about vanishing last night...underestimated how much sleep I needed before, at least now I know that Sundays need to be my lazy, nap-filled days . ^^;
@Arynne and @SephirothSage The idea was that @Jtuxyan joined us in the first Friday session this week, but he is unable to. Would you prefer to post pone it, or start without him?
There's this classic Japanese music group called Rin' and well, Yuu doesn't like much other than food, but their music is so amazing that even she'll be a fan. I also bet they are all Scions of Ama No Uzume...yes, they are that amazing.
So, it occurs to me that I haven't asked any of you what kinds of adventures you enjoy, so perhaps it would be prudent to get some input from the group, in particular @SephirothSage and @Arynne since their's haven't started yet.
What say you? Kill monsters, figure things out, sway the minds of weak and strong, cover up the big bad magical world, fetch mcguffins?
I like the same things SephirothSage likes...with the caveat that Ashley isn't a combat machine -- yet -- so we might want to hold off awhile on the really big monsters. (She can call for backup in the form of long-dead soldiers, but she can't afford to be constantly ordering the sixteen-piece meals and buckets of beer necessary to resurrect them afterwards. )
"Exploring the supernatural world" also sounds like a cool theme to start with. I like some of the strange places described in the Scion books -- the Primal Cavern, the Great Mound, the Dark Forest. I like quests after McGuffins, too, and traveling into the Underworld and back, an inevitable part of any hero's journey.
Ashley is more of a gun bunny -- yes, she's a "crazy" person who really likes guns. Frankly, I'm surprised the cops haven't raided her house yet. Her einherjar are usually riflemen as well.
