A small smile drifted onto Beth's face. Manjano spoke about meeting Falarion much more positively than other things, and it seemed to her like an expression of their bond. Almost like Manjano was being sweet, even though it wasnt so obvious.

Beth jumped a little when the door behind them opened, turning her head to see a maid stepping out. Manjano jumped to his feet, immediately on the defensive. She reached up and her fingertips brushed his forearm for a brief moment, in a completely absent-minded gesture. "Its alright. Thank you, we'll be right in." She said to the maid, as she was already disappearing inside.

"You're awful scary there, Manjano." Beth said, turning to look at him and standing. She was grinning, a little goofily, as she teased him. "That poor girl." She let it hang in the air a moment, then grew a little more serious. Beth had a feeling he might not speak for the rest of the night now that they had been interrupted. She had to tilt her head up to look at his face, but it wasnt so bad. "Thank you, for this. It was really nice.. I really do like listening you. I know you already know this, but Falarion and Leandra would like to hear you too." She smiled again, and dropped her eyes, taking a step backward. "Now come on," Beth turned and started back toward the doors, "You should eat." She looked over her shoulder, green eyes appearing a little more like silver in the starlight. It was her turn to smirk when she said, "You owe me one answer though."

At the door, she paused and gave a single short whistle, searching the sky for her companion. If she was honest, she was wondering if he had gotten over his temper tantrum.

Somewhere off in the garden, Totus popped his head up from his finished meal. Beth. He hesitated, unsure if he was still angry or not. Either way, he should return since she went as far as calling. On silent wings, he flew back to the house.

Feeling Beth's fingertip brush against his forearm instantly sent goosebumps up his arm and causing Manjano to look sharply at her, though his expression was of surprise, not anger. Why had she touched him like that? Was it supposed to be a gesture of comfort or the sort?

At the same time, Manjano had actually kind of liked the sensation of Beth's touch. It was gentle and kind, not at all angry or, well, abusive, as he'd endured in the past. It'd been years since he last let someone other than Falarion touch him and it had been longer since he'd felt anyone touch him out of kindness.

Hearing Beth's teasing, Manjano raised an eyebrow at her, though it again wasn't any expression of anger towards her. It was more like amusement.

Seeing Beth grinning made the corner of Manjano's mouth twitch, though the maid's disturbance of their moment had quickly made Manjano withdraw once more. Once again, he was beginning to feel uncomfortable all over again.

Hearing Beth thanking him for simply talking to her, Manjano blinked at her and tilted his head to the side, slightly confused as to why she'd be thanking him for simply talking to her. What was so great about that?

At the mention of Falarion and Leandra, Manjano's gaze shifted to the ground. After finally speaking again, he felt more comfortable with the idea of speaking with Falarion, but Leandra...well, she was a whole other story that he wasn't quite ready to work with yet.

As Beth took a step back and made her way towards the door, Manjano trailed after her, not really desiring to stay outside on his own now. At the mention of eating, Manjano's stomach instantly growled and he rolled his eyes at this, but knew he was definitely starving after everything they'd had to deal with today. A meal would definitely be amazing right about now.

Seeing Beth look back at him, Manjano briefly glanced at her eyes and instantly felt entranced by them, as they glinted in the starlight and gave them a whole new light.

Hearing Beth's comment brought him back out of his thoughts and he raised an eyebrow at her, though he struggled to keep a straight face with her smirking at him. It looked rather comical on the girl who normally was quiet and even serious at times.

Alas, it seemed his avoidance of answering her second question hadn't gone unnoticed, but at least he'd have some time to not rush into the answer. After all, he wasn't entirely comfortable explaining the whole scene to Beth. A lot had happened during that fight...

Just before Beth entered the building, she let out a short whistle, causing Manjano to instantly pause and turn around, fully expecting to see Totus appearing shortly. After all, that's the only reason he could think of as for why Beth would whistle like that.

Jimbo looked across the dance floor at the others. Duiks music had gotten the crew into such a lively mood, Jimbo didn't want Simon's outburst to ruin any chances of himself having a bad time with the others. As he watched the others dancing, his eyes met Alec's for a moment, and he saw the curiosity about what had just transpired. Jimbo could only return his gaze with a look of exhaustion and a very weak smile.

As the food was brought out Jimbo looked back at the door frame, wondering if maybe the sound of food would bring Simon stumbling back in. What he hadn't expected to see was Luness fluttering away after him. He had to hand it to the phoenix, she wasn't going to take Simon's crap sitting down. Jimbo looked back at the table once more before lumbering over towards the door.

Simon was half way stumbling up the stairs when he heard Luness once again, this time mentioning food. He looked to see her perched on a light fixture, and sighed as he turned on the step and sat down facing the floor below. He listened to what she had to say, lowering his head and rubbing his eyes with his index and thumb as she spoke. Damn bird, why does she have to make so much sense. Simon looked up at Luness, the lights popping back into his field of vision after rubbing his eyes. He made a half cocked smirk at her, and went to tell her off with his drunken stupor, but was stopped by another voice.

"Simon, don't. You need to talk this out, I'm sick of watching you mope. I sat next to you for a year while I watched you roll around in whisky and self pity after Singapore. I'm not doing it again. Pop's would have given you such an ass kicking if he were alive to see this. If you don't talk, I will, the team has a right to know. Specially since you're going around telling people off."

Jimbo's eyes were furrowed, standing at the bottom of the stairs, there was a determination behind them that made Simon freeze. He looked from Jimbo to Luness, and sighed as he dropped his head once more.

"Fine, you win Jim."

Like a scolded child, Simon looked up to Luness with remorse and painful sorrow.

"Luness, I'm sorry about what I said. It wasn' right of me to get upset, I know you're just trying to help."

Simon went quiet for a moment before he took a deep breath and exhaled.

"It was supposed to be such an easy mission. Tag and bag, get information on the creature causing trouble then get them back to HQ. What we found in Singapore was so much more. A monster, bigger than a blasted house. Call it a Merlion, cryptid class. I don't think even Amber knew what were dealing with until it was right on top of us. Ten of us went out there, Amber, Calista, Jimbo and myself included. We were the only ones to come back alive. It drowned half of my team with a massive tidal wave, the other half it ripped to shreds. I blamed The Watch for the longest time, figured they knew more than they told us. But in the end, it was a team of rookies against something bigger than they could handle."

Before Simon had begun, Jimbo climbed the stair and was now perched on the step before Simon. Simon took another deep breathe and seemed to relax a bit, even hearing himself say it out loud seemed to drive off a bit of the drunken stupor. He looked up to Jimbo and then to Luness.

"Now you know. I lost good friends in Singapore. I think I lost a bit of myself there too. When we got back, I couldn't handle being in The Watch anymore. I wasn't going to leave my family behind, who would take care of them? I can't even remember know if I talked to Amber before I left. Probably why the fur ball hates me so much."

Simon grabbed hold of the railing to the stairs and hoisted himself back to his feet, still keeping his head low as he turned back towards the top of the stairs.

"You two should go eat. I would probably be best to sleep off this mood."

Zoe listened silently as Bael spoke. An infection... that could explain some things but still she could not find an answer to those strange visions. But if this was going to help her then she would endure everything she had to. Sitting tightly she watched as the boy started to make the tincture with meticulous care. She was amazed how focused he was now compared to when they were in the car - this was his world, his domain, it was here where he bloomed. She was impressed by his handiwork and when he walked up to her to wrap the thing around her shoulder she hissed.

The mixture felt like a heated iron poker, it felt as if her skin was pierced by a hundred spears. She said nothing though, holding back the agony - if it hurt it could only mean that it is doing its job and it started cleansing her. With a smile she nodded at him.

" Thank you, Bael. " she said, standing up, trying her arm out. It was as flexible as usual, the bandage did not inhibit any of her movements. She looked at him, a bit uncertain of what she should do next. So many things have changed in the past weeks that she was uncertain how should she react to all this. When the coffee was mentioned however she smiled and nodded.

" Sounds about right, you have more than deserve it! " she said, putting her clothes back on, looking at Bael. She only now noticed the slight horror which crossed his mind and she immediately knew what it was about. With a sardonic smile she stepped next to him.

" Those are but grim reminders of my hubris, worry not. " she said silently " Were it not for them I would probably have never changed. But that i sa story for an another time I think, we best keep moving. "

She remained close to him, just as he wished and she was thinking about something to say. As they walked she pondered and felt blush wash over her face and she smiled.

" I used to wake up early in the morning, you know. " she said " Watching the rising sun as it paints the horizon with its crimson rays... it was just soothing to the mind, it allowed me to concentrate better. " she chuckled " If you are not a sleepyhead then... maybe... "

She paused for a moment.

" Maybe you should consider... joining me once. It is perfect for... for... " she searched for words " Training purposes, yes that is it. Definitely for that. "

As they reached the lower level she saw that food was already served.

" Hmmm... that smells delicious. You want to dig in or want to drink coffee first? "

@Sleipnir

Eos danced for a little while but then he just decided to back out from this parade and wanted to rest for a bit. It was refreshing watching the others having fun and celebrating so he just laid back and relaxed for a bit. That is, until Gigi has announced that food was ready and the eyes of the old stag started to glimmer. He stood up and looked at the wondrous dishes, one by one he would have consumed all of them. But, as a gentleman, he could not allow such gluttony to be the best of him so he just gracefully walked up to the table, next to Xiao and decided to pick something for himself.

" Pardon me, good lady. " he spoke with a smile " I hope I did not interrupt... anything. " he looked at her then to Alec. He chuckled as he whispered " Ah, as love blossom hearts do too... just watching this blissful event fills me with memories and joy. "

He turned to them, bowing his head graciously.

" I hope you will enjoy the meal as you do each others company. " he smiled, starting to eat - one of his eye still at the girl and the man.

Alec tried not to choke as Xiao cautioned him.

He grinned at her comment about laughter. "Duik says the exact same thing. And you know what? As a doctor, I can attest to the truth. If you want to laugh, hanging around Duik and I usually helps." Then she told him he was cute. He made a face to try and emphasize the attribute, but he thought he probably ended up looking sort of like a fish.

"One shade? Of course you'd be interesting." He said and looked around for something to emphasize his point. A solid, red paperweight sitting on a side table by one of the couches. He held it up as the song faded and an attendant put the lighting back to its regular setting.

"This is one shade." He stated, showing her the solid red object. "But look at it, is it really just that? The shadows and the highlights, they aren't just red. I see blues, purples, yellows. If you look closely you can see a rainbow of colours." He smiled at her, "and that's what I see."

Alec rubbed the back of his head, slightly embarrassed at all the praise she heaped on him, but under that a subdued look appeared in his eyes.

"I don't think you want to know all of my sides." He said quietly. His memory took him back to the mountainside, how Xiao had tackled him. He would have killed the wolf if she hadn't stopped him.

It was just them Eos sidled up and dropped his little 'L' bomb.

"Whoa-what? We're not...I mean. J-just, friendly banter!" Alec stuttered, listening to himself trip over words. In the end he sunk into silence, looking flustered and more than a bit pink. Suddenly he couldn't look at Xiao without blushing a deeper shade.

Simon's disturbance had made him curious, and concerned. When Xiao asked him to join her at the table he could have kicked himself for being so worried about the guy.

"I'll be right back." He promised faithfully, slipping away to follow Luness.

Duik sighed. "And, that, is Alec." He said as his partner vanished around the corner. "Can't stop caring. Not for a minute."

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere but the dinner table." Duik shot her a toothy grin.

@crucialstar @DawnAntalios

Alec arrived at the bottom of the stairs in time to hear Simon's story.

"Damn..." Was all he could say in reaction, but that was why Simon had been so upset. Calista too.

"Hey, Simon." Alec wracked his brain for something, anything that would offer some small form of comfort. Finally he let out a breath.

"Look, I know no number of words will ever undo what happened. They won't take the pain away. But man, Those guys you lost? They wouldn't want you to hold onto them like this. Not like, this." He gestured to the big man, slumped on the steps.

"The best you can do, is honor them by not letting Amber join them. Let's get her back."

"You didn't talk to her." Calista's voice, still edged with anger cut through the air, but it carried something else too, exhaustion, perhaps a hint of defeat. "Maybe if you had it've been easier...Damn you Simon." She made her way up the stairs to him, her black eyes fixed on his. "Amber thought you blamed her. Hated her for what happened. She thought that was why you left. Then you go and drop that bomb on me at the bar?" She looked at the others gathered.

"Well, its going to be a lot harder to find Amber now...The signal went dead. They had a damned backup virus, killed my program. Nearly fried my hard drive...Simon, we don't have a single friggin' lead."

Beth watched the sky for her companion, catching sight of him with practiced ease. He flew with the long, full strokes that usually followed a good meal. He would probably want to sleep instead of joining in a dining experience, but there wasnt much choice. She had a feeling that they would be a noisy bunch at dinner.

Totus glided down toward her. He had decided he was no longer angry, and that if he ignored Manjano, Beth would get the message and he might just go away. In truth, he was sleepy with a full belly and too tired to argue with her anymore that night.

She held out an arm, and he settled gently onto it. From there, he climbed up to her shoulder. He hardly gave Manjano a glance.

Beth narrowed her eyes for a moment, acutely aware of the bird's attitude, but didnt bother mentioning it.

"Shall we?" She addressed Manjano, with a bright smile, and pushed the door open to enter. The bright light of the indoors stung her eyes for a moment. When she had adjusted, she continued on, slipping into dinner quietly with a smile. It smelled absolutely amazing, but Beth wasnt sure she would be able to stomach much. She found a seat, looking at Manjano as she placed her hand on the empty one next to it. It was a very subtle invitation, but he seemed to always notice her subtle hints. She settled into her own chair, Totus choosing to perch at the edge of the group on a spare chair. Beth glanced around, noting a few absentees and wondering where they might have wandered off to.

Luness could tell Simon was fighting with himself while her words sunk into his drunken mind. Hopefully he wouldn't lash out at her like she expected him to.

Seeing his smirk, Luness braced herself for what she expected, but relaxed when she heard Jimbo approach and then talk Simon down. Phew.

Seeing Simon's expression though made Luness' heart skip a beat and his apology made her want to hug him, even though she didn't exactly have arms to do so.

Smiling sadly down at the man, Luness then responded, "It's fine, dear. Trust me, I've seen Manjano act this way plenty of times before."

As Simon began his story, Luness focused entirely on his words, not wanting to miss a single bit of it. She knew it was taking a lot out of him to tell this story and she had no intention of ruining the moment by missing any details.

At the mention of a Merlion, Luness' eyes widened slightly. She'd never seen the monster before, but she'd heard stories over the years, especially considering how long a phoenix could live for. From what little she knew, the thing was nearly invincible or was invincible. The stories varied, but from what Simon was telling her, most of them were true to an extent. If that thing was still alive, it could very well be potential enemy down the line. What if it had or has a human companion?

At the mention of losing his team to the monster except for the four of them, Luness bowed her head. Losing anyone was never easy and losing part of your team was far worse. Almost as bad as losing actual family since most teams would become very close to one another after some time.

At the mention of a team of rookies against something bigger than they'd expected, Luness' head shot up, as she instantly thought back to the wolf attack on their very own team. It was a similar situation, except nobody had died and only a few had suffered serious injuries.

As Simon began speaking again, Luness shoved her thoughts aside and refocused on his words.

Seeing Simon heading to bed after summarizing his thoughts, Luness bowed her head once more and was about to respond to say good night when suddenly Alec and Calista both showed up and voiced their own thoughts.

Glancing over at Alec after hearing his attempt at cheering up Simon, Luness nodded at him, though she didn't know what to really say in the moment.

Yet, the moment was cut short, as Calista made her entrance and angrily spoke at Simon. Calista's words were completely understandable and Luness could only imagine what Amber went through after Simon just up and left her after such a draining mission. It must've been a very difficult time for all four of them to go through.

Hearing the newfound information about the signal going dead, Luness could only give Calista a sad look, as she knew very little about electronics herself and would be of no use in this area.

Knowing how he was in a drunken state still, Luness cut in and said, "I understand your anger, Calista, but now may not be the best time to try and talk some sense into the man. Perhaps we can discuss this further tomorrow?"

While Luness was seeing some similar patterns between Simon's small group and Leandra's own group, what with the twins not speaking to one another after going through some difficult times of their own, Luness knew better than to try and relate like that right now. Simon was no doubt in no mood to hear about anyone else's problems.

Noticing Totus clearly ignoring him, Manjano raised an eyebrow, but refrained from saying anything or making any gestures. The bird seemed content to be silent at the moment anyhow.

After Totus settled on Beth's shoulder, Manjano merely shifted his gaze to Beth, as she made a face at Totus and then offered Manjano a smile before opening the door and leading the way to the dinner area.

Finding it hard to not match Beth's bright and warm smile, Manjano followed after her with his eyes on the ground and his hands shoved back into his front pockets once more.

It wasn't until Manjano saw Beth pat on the seat beside her that he joined her at the table and then became self-conscious, as he knew that the pair plus Totus had just wandered inside together. Had anyone seen them together?

Trying his best to not let it get to him, Manjano instead glanced around until he could see Falarion chowing down nearby. Once he knew that Falarion was doing well on his own, Manjano let himself relax and began putting various food items from different cultures onto his plate, somewhat curious to see what everything tasted like.

Once he had his plate full and took a few bites, Manjano then glanced over at Totus, sitting at the edge of the group.

Raising an eyebrow at Beth, Manjano then gestured at Totus, making it clear that he was asking about Totus.

Simon looked back at the sound of Alec's voice. Simon had respect for the man, he had helped with his leg back at HQ and had proven himself to be a capable fighter. What he said made Simon stop and think about the friends he had lost. If they could see him know, they would probably beat him to a pulp for acting like such a baby. The thought made Simon visibly smile a bit, something that caught Jimbo's eye.

"Nicole would have lectured you, Tyrone would have given you a shiner, and Zach probably would have just sat back and laughed while they did it."

As Jimbo spoke, counting off names on his fingers, Simon's smile seemed to get a bit wider each time. Though, when Simon heard Calista speak up, his expression dropped once more. How could he have done that to Amber? He felt horrible knowing now that if he had only talked to her, maybe things could have turned out differently. His mood did not improve when Calista reported on the situation with the GPS Simon had retrieved. His grip tightened on the banister, they had been so close, so close to finding her or at least getting some information as to where she was. Simon took a deep breath and relaxed a bit before meeting Calista's gaze. As Luness chimed in once again, Simon couldn't help but look at her was a thankful expression. He knew she ment well, but Simon was glad Calista had told him.

"No it's ok Luness. Calista, I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry for leaving Amber, and you, behind without speaking to either of you. When we get Amber back, I'll explain everything, but keep my personal feelings to myself. Not sure they would do any good at this point. But we will get her back, even if I have to beat every badger senseless to get the information."

Simon took a deep breath, while the alcohol was still very much making his legs and arms wobble, the seriousness of the situation and talking with the others seemed to give him a few moments of clarity. It was possible that Jimbo might have some influence on his clarity at the moment, but Simon could feel the relief of talking about it making him feel better, was all his own. He turned back towards the bottom of the stairs, using the railing to lean on as he looked at the others and rubbing the back of his head a bit sheepishly.

"Thank you all for your help. I.....uh...could probably go for something to help soak up some of this drink I've been drowning in. If you guys aren't sick of my drunk ass by now."

Samantha watched as her companion flailed angrily with the cup still stuck on her snout,though it finally happened after the long amount of flailing the cup popped off and Velora rubbed her snout and glared at the glass,she picked it up and bit it to teach it a lesson then dropped it on the floor,her tongue seemed to throb as blood returned to natural flow for her "From now on drinks come from bigger cups that won't get stuck on my face" she said to Velora and sat beside her watching everyone have fun everything seemed too good to be true,as soon as she thought those things her stomache started to growl it was either unhappy with the badger she'd consumed or was craving flesh,Gigi seemed to be busy and everyone else was probably in no clue of where food could be found so she decided she could wait for another mission or for a companion foolish enough to provoke her into giving them what they deserve but that was unlikely.As soon as Velora got the cup off her tongue Samantha let out a sigh of relief and rubbed the sides of the dilos face coaxing her to relax and think about enjoying this time they had together as they'd probably not get breaks like this as often as she hoped,everyone was so happy and that made her happy,she wanted to dance but that stunt pulled a number on her body she was tense and it hurt to make too much movement so she would just wait for the kinks to flow out of her body and she'd be good as new,or so she hoped,she could still bob to the tune at least which was as fun as dancing but required less movement so it was good,Samantha looked at Velora "You should dance with the others,you know you want to have fun and maybe you can improve your dancing skills" she said grinning at her companion who looked back with a visible snarl "I'll show you how it's done scaless ape" she said walking away.Velora didn't stray to far from Samantha or get to close to anyone but decided to show how she thought dance should be,she started by changing colors to that close to a disco ball but more like some kind of glowing flower and then she started to strut back and forth bobbing her head and shaking it from side to side with the rythm if she had feathers she would probably make them stand out but she didn't so instead she made tiny hops here and there in her strut path and did a spin or two,she was starting to enjoy herself.Just then it occured to them there was no one except them and they rushed after the others,Velora saw food and that was all she needed to see,she was a dinosaur and she didn't have a clue about table manners so she jumped on the table and grabbed a couple of drumsticks from the nearest fowl and jumped off hissing at anyone who stared at her display,Samantha whimpered and decided to take a salad she had table manners and would display them to try and make up for Veloras lack of them,she used no dressing and just kept it simple she wasn't one to try new foods unless they looked like foods she knew.

Beth settled into her chair confidently, even though she was very aware that Manjano had tensed up again next to her. There was nothing she could do about that. He could be relaxed with her forever, but how he felt around other people was between he and them. It felt odd to be in tune with his presence like she.. well like she hadnt been with another person in years.

He seemed to relax when his eyes found Falarion, so she didnt worry about it too much. Beth reached forward and picked a soft roll up out of a basket, tearing small bites from it with a deliberate air. She was looking around the group gathered when she saw Manjano turn to look at Totus, perched on the opposite side of her and away from the group, out of the corner of her eye. She glanced at him, as his eyes turned to her. His silent question was obvious, and she turned her head to look at Totus for a moment. The owl met her gaze with flat black eyes. She turned back with a small shake of her head.

Beth opened her mouth to say something, but stopped herself and made a face, brows furrowed. Her lips pursed and moved a little sideways and the bottom lip stuck out a little more, resulting in an annoyed, confused pout. She sighed and her face relaxed into a more standard worried one. "Its hard for him. He's just really protective of me. After everything, he doesn't trust other humans very much, especially not human males. He doesn't give human the benefit of the doubt like he does companions. Its this whole theory of his, I can explain it some other time if you want. If it were up to him, Im not sure if we would have ever left those woods. We definitely wouldnt be here. He doesn't.. he doesn't approve of me being close with people on the team, least of all the scarred and silent male loner." She gave him an apologetic glance, then scowled at her roll and tore it in half slowly. "I told Eos that he had to stop treating Zoe like the little girl he first knew. I should tell Totus the same thing. But its just his nature. He cares and protects, I cant be mad at him for wanting to make sure Im okay." Beth finished with a shrug and looked back up at him. "Dont worry about Totus. He's stubborn sometimes, but he'll come around." She spoke it all pretty softly, but she knew very well that Totus could hear every word. "Too much serious talk, if you want me to talk, ask me something happier." Beth said, scrunching her nose as if the serious talk had a funny smell, then popped another small piece of roll into her mouth.

@Lioness075

On his perch off to the side, Totus just barely kept himself from reacting. What Beth said was true. She was right, but how could he admit that when he had been so rude about everything? She looks happier talking to Manjano than I have seen her in a long, long time. He had always assumed that he was all Beth needed, period. They had built a life excluding others, not caring about them. Was it really time for that to change? Looking at Beth then, dismissing Manjano's serious topic with a shrug, he realized that it might be. Will she forget about me if she gets to know others? The owl didnt know, and wasnt sure if he could swallow his pride enough to ask.

Hearing the mention of names of Simon's old teammates, Luness decisively kept quiet, as she wouldn't have anything to add to a conversation like that. Seeing Simon smile was nice though, given the current circumstances.

Hearing Simon's response to her, Luness nodded at him, as this was his moment and his choice as for how it worked out.

Hearing him apologize to Calista was certainly a big step in the right direction. If he could mend things a bit with Calista, then surely he could mend thing with Amber as well.

At the mention of simon keeping his personal feelings to himself, Luness furrowed her brows and tilted her head to the side. How would keeping his personal feelings to himself help anyone?

Still, perhaps it'd be easier to suggest otherwise once they found Amber again.

Hearing Simon thanking them, Luness righted her head and began bobbing her head in response to him, cheering up at the sound of him deciding on bettering himself.

Until she heard him say it.

Instantly fluffing up and giving Simon an indignant look, Luness then shook her head before saying abruptly, "Language, dear!"

Luness had to be the only one on the whole team to remotely care about curse words, but it was soemthing she always found repulsive and Leandra had learned over time to try her best to refrain from saying any of them around Luness.

@zCrookedz @SilverFlight

Watching Beth look at Totus and then fluctuate between expressions while thinking things over, Manjano had to struggle to resist smirking at her, as she was clearly making her mind up about something important to her. Especially since Manjano had just asked about Totus. Still, it was rather amusing to watch so Manjano at least raised an eyebrow at Beth.

As she began talking though with a worried expression, Manjano returned to his neutral expression and focused intently on what Beth was saying.

Hearing how protective Totus was of him, Manjano felt he could somewhat relate in that he was highly protective of Falarion. So much so that he'd chosen to save Falarion over...

Cutting off his own thought before it continued in the direction it was headed in, Manjano returned his attention to Beth and continued listening to her and then blinked when she mentioned him. The scarred and silent male loner. Despite Beth giving him an apologetic look for the description, Manjano wasn't entirely sure of how to feel about it so he simply shrugged at her. It wasn't exactly an unkind description, though the way it was said and in its context made it sound worse than it really was. Was that how Totus viewed him?

Listening to Beth mentioning Eos and her advice to him, Manjano slowly nodded, as he could understand that kinda thing. He'd suppressed the feeling over time, but he used to be overly protective of Leandra, so much so that she practically hated him for it. It was rather fun at times though.

Resisting the urge to chuckle at his amusing thoughts and memories since Beth was still speaking, Manjano simply nodded at her last few statements.

It sure sounded like he was going to have to get on Totus' good side. After all, one couldn't expect to get along amazingly with the human, but neglect the companion's relationship.

At the mention of asking her something happier, Manjano smirked at her, blissfully unaware of the people and animals around him, as he snatched up a dinner roll and offered it to her, as he'd certainly noticed how much she seemed to like the bread at the table.

While he was uncomfortable about talking around everyone else, he was certainly not afraid to have a little fun. After all, whoever said talking was absolutely necessary for communication?

@Flutterby

Talking with Manjano (probably more proper to say to or at him) was more interesting than most conversations. She had to pay closer attention to his visual reactions, because he didnt give verbal ones. It was an intellectual challenge, like a puzzle. She liked it.

Beth grinned at the sight of his smirk, while was probably as close to a smile as he had right now. He held out a dinner roll, and she laughed lightly before taking it. Even if he didnt speak in front of others, he was finding a way to tease her.

"Okay, one, I like bread. Im a carb junkie. Bread tastes good, and your body actually heats up a little when it digests the carbohydrates. As someone who gets cold easily, this is very important. In the winter, I like to go to bakeries and buy some good bread early in the morning when its still really warm." Beth had to really fight the urge to throw it at his face. "Two, I didnt want to dig right in to other food after I lost my lunch after the limo ride. Bread seemed a little safer than the steak I really want. But, I feel fine, so I'll probably eat plenty." This caused her to blush a little, even though she knew that it had been because of her concussion. "Now. Another thing to consider. Look at this roll." She held it up to eye level, and stared at it very seriously. "It is a masterpiece of ingenuity. At some point, somewhere between the neanderthal and civilization, an almost-human creature figured out that if you crush up a certain plant and mix the powder with some water, maybe some oil, and heat it up a bunch, it turns into something edible and actually pretty tasty. And it could be made tastier. Yeast made it lighty and puffy, and now we have more kinds of bread, rolls, and pastries than anyone could count." Beth tilted the roll a little, letting the buttery top catch the light a little. "It can be savory or sweet, people put things in it or on top of it. Theres all kinds of different colors and textures and flavors. Bread is really impressive. This roll is kind of a miracle." Beth looked at Manjano with a smile, and placed the roll on the edge of his plate. "Enjoy your miracle, mister."

Okay, so she was getting a little sassy with him. Totus could sue her, it had been so long since she enjoyed another person's company. Beth half-stood in her seat, and selected a few things to put on her plate. One was the aforementioned steak, which she pointed to with her fork. "Thats probably beef, but Im secretly hoping its venison." She admitted, as if it were a massive secret. Beth cut into it and put a piece in her mouth. "Nope, beef." She mumbled around it, her eyes glowing in amusement at her own behavior. Also crowded onto her plate was a small pile of fettuccine alfredo and shrimp scampi. Acting as a barrier between the two saucy dishes, was a group of little broccoli trees. The steak rested to the side like it had been exiled.

Wednesday danced with Rin, spinning and twirling to the music. A smile graced her features as the music played. If Rin spoke to her, she responded kindly, and the whole time she was very pleasant and enjoyable company. Soon, however, the music was cut off and it seemed it was time to move to the dinner table. She looked at Rin and thanked him for the dance before quietly dismissing herself.

@andujarprime

Wednesday no longer cared to eat meals with others- hosting nice dinners was something she and her fiancé had enjoyed before he had left, and the thought of attending dinner parties of any sort now saddened her. She was sure it would fade with time, but as it was she didn't feel like seeing his ghost around.

Instead, she headed upstairs hoping to find her room. She briefly wondered where cerci was, but decided she was probably off having fun somewhere and didn't want to spoil it. As she wandered she noticed a room that she assumed belonged to bael, seeing the door a bit open, and a teapot over on the table opposite the door. She knocked on it softly, wondering if anyone was inside.

@Sleipnir

Cerci smiled at Cedar, and started to respond but cut herself off with a loud inhale through her nose.

"Oh! Do you smell that?! It smells like someone is cooking. Perhaps it is time to rejoin the others, do you think?" She asked, bumping Cedar with her shoulder before loping off towards the source of the scent.

As Beth began her rant, Manjano continued to smirk at her while now raising an eyebrow.

As Beth continued on in her bread rant, Manjano's smirk slowly formed into a complete smile, as he couldn't help but find this whole thing to be entirely amusing and, well, cute. He never knew someone could love bread as much as Beth clearly did.

Manjano did make a mental note that Beth got cold easily though. It instantly made him think of those moments in books or movies where the guy would take off his jacket and offer it to the girl. Considering Manjano didn't get cold too easily, that'd be a nice thing for him to do, right? It'd been so long since Manjano was last in a relationship (which also happened to be with another male) that he felt almost clueless being with Beth. It was almost like he was dating someone for the first time all over again.

With bakeries clearly being Beth's favorite kind of food place to go to, Manjano knew that there were several in his home town, as Leandra had a similar love for bread and could almost always be found at those bakeries eating bread and drinking some kind of espresso drink. She probably had no idea that Manjano knew that about her, but he learned a lot about people by simply not talking and letting them do all the talking.

As Beth went into reason two, Manjano chuckled a bit at her mention of losing her lunch, though he tried to refrain from pointing out how red she appeared now. It just made her look that much cuter.

When Beth told him to look at the roll, Manjano's vanished, as he mockingly made a serious expression and stared intently at the bread roll. As Beth continued along in her rant, he snuck a glance at her face and had to use everything in him to resist the urge to laugh at how serious she was taking this.

As Beth concluded her bread rant and placed the bread roll on the edge of Manjano's plate, he continued to resist the urge to laugh. Instead, he picked up the bread roll and ate nearly half of it in one bite, definitely pleased with how great it tasted. Perhaps he could use some more bread in his life. With the way Beth had spoken about it, Manjano could easily envision her as that girl in all of the paintings who always had a french baguette somewhere on her.

At the mention of the steak she'd chosen, Manjano raised an eyebrow at her, as if questioning whether eating that was really a good idea. Seeing her dinner again probably wouldn't be something she'd enjoy, especially considering her reaction to losing her lunch.

Hearing Beth's comment about the steak, Manjano rolled his eyes at her, as he wasn't entirely sure why it mattered which one it was, but it was still cute that she mentioned it and then told him which one it was.

Finishing off his bread roll, which was apparently a miracle according to Beth, Manjano then glanced over at her plate and noticed how perfectly organized it was.

Years of growing up with a twin sister had taught him to find every way possible to annoy someone or even to mess with them in a light-hearted manner.

Therefore, he found it perfectly logical to snatch up his fork and then quickly stab at one of the broccoli in the middle of the line-up while also using the broccoli now stuck on his fork to push the steak against the 'treeline' until it was within an inch or two of touching all of the other foods.

Pulling back his fork before Beth could make a move on it, Manjano then ate the piece of broccoli while giving Beth an amused and victorious look. After swallowing his broccoli, Manjano even smirked at her.

@Flutterby

Duik stuffed a roll into his mouth as he listened to Beth's speech. "Diff iff de beft miwacle I'ff effer tafted." He said as he chewed.

@Flutterby

Calista looked like she wanted to say something more, then sighed and nodded at the big man. "That'd be best." She said quietly.

Alec offered Simon a hand to help him down the stairs. "We'll get agent Strong back Calista, somehow, we'll find a way. There are still agents assigned to find her too right?"

To Simon's statement that he should sober up a bit Alec smiled. "One giant glass of water coming up."

@zCrookedz

No sooner had Alec said this then the front door burst open and the woman they had seen at the rehearsal stormed through.

"Gigi! Gigi are you all right?! I just heard what happened!"

Alec could only guess that the woman who had been working as Gigi's manager, was likely also her companion.

Calista watched as the woman rushed into the dining room. "She's one of our contacts, she knows we're from the Watch." The civet reminded them.

As soon as Gigi heard the woman's voice her head shot up. "Isabelle!" She ran to meet the woman, who was still dressed in the same blue business suit as before. Isabelle knelt and checked Gigi over for injuries. Gigi had been expecting a hug, and looked a little taken aback.

When she found none she stood up and looked at the group, genuine gratitude on her face.

"I can't imagine what could have happened if you hadn't been there to save her."

"Zey are not ordinary fans." Gigi said matter-of-factly and to this Isabelle looked a little guilty.

"They're Watch agents."

"Aha! so zat explains it!" She looked at Falarion with a new appreciation. "Agents from ze Watch, how exciting! I will feel so much safer now at ze animal rights rally tomorrow."

Isabelle looked shocked. "Absolutely not Gigi! It is far too dangerous to go to something like that. I will be cancelling it. I almost cancelled your charity concert tomorrow night."

"What?!" The poodle barked in outrage. "You will most zertainly not be cancelling anything!" She said flatly. "Ze rally must 'ere me speak! Zey might turn violent if I am not zere!"

"That is not our problem." Isabelle countered. "Your safety is. I'm afraid there is no argument about this."

"Isabelle! You must listen! I am telling you, ze rally, she will be a disaster if I do not go!"

"I cannot stay and talk Gigi, there is still a lot that needs to be done. The Watch will keep you safe." She turned to go.

"Isabelle! For once please listen to me! Please! I need more zan just one minute of your time!"

Isabelle ignored her, she gathered a few things from a desk in a side room and moved to the door again. Gigi said nothing after that. Only stood and watched her companion's back as she left. The main door clicked back into place, audible in the silence. The poodle tried to take a breath, but it was clear the interaction had hurt her. She stood still and studied her plate.

As Alec came back into the room and went to the bar to pour water he watched her, it almost looked as if she might cry.

"Maybe we should sleep on this. I'm sure things will look better after a good night's rest." He suggested quietly.

@everyone

Falarion jolted to his paws in surprise when the front door burst open, causing some his fur to stick up on end while his wide eyes looked over at the woman barging in.

Recognizing her as Gigi's apparent companion, Falarion tilted his head curiously at the woman, as she seemed rather apathetic towards Gigi beyond making sure she didn't have any serious injuries.

Seeing Gigi's expression after the woman was satisfied that she had no serious injuries, Falarion let out a small whimper of sympathy, though he doubted it was heard in between the woman and Gigi going back and forth.

As the woman gave away their hidden identities, Leandra suddenly stopped stuffing her face with bread rolls, having been so determined to get however many she wanted before they possibly ran out. She'd had trouble getting enough food at some of her foster homes and so she always had a subconscious habit of eating oddly fast before finally settling back and talking with people again.

Glancing over at the pair, Leandra raised an eyebrow when they began fighting over the rally that was scheduled for tomorrow, but was now to be canceled. Considering how strongly Gigi felt about the animal rights and her leadership position, canceling it was definitely not going to sit well with her.

As the woman put her foot down about it and then left before Gigi could argue anymore, Leandra's expression shifted to one of concern, as she felt badly for Gigi. This meant so much to her and that woman, who Leandra assumed was her companion, was being, well, pretty apathetic about everything. Leandra knew how painful it could be to try and interact with apathetic people. Feelings got hurt and those people wouldn't even notice it.

Seeing Gigi's look of admiration towards him, Falarion bashfully looked down at his paws before looking back up sharply at Gigi and the woman's argument over the rally tomorrow.

Lowering his head subconsciously at the woman's sharp words and perhaps even distaste for Gigi's strong beliefs, Falarion let out a small whimper for Gigi. This wasn't going well for her at all.

Meanwhile, Manjano was distracted from his little moment with Beth, as he peered down the table at Gigi and the woman near the front door, arguing rather loudly about some rally that had been scheduled for tomorrow. It became clear pretty quickly though that the woman wasn't going to listen to Gigi's side of things and the poodle quickly lost the argument, which seemed more one-sided than anything.

The moment the woman had exited, Falarion quickly joined Gigi's side before giving her a sympathetic look and gently nuzzling against her shoulder again.

Not liking how hurt Gigi look, Falarion wracked his brain for some kind of alternative option, but he was anything but tech savvy and so he came up with nothing.

Pulling his head back from Gigi, Falarion then said softly, "Hey, some rest wouldn't hurt after everything that has transpired today."

Gently placing one of his paws on top of Gigi's, Falarion then nervously waited for any kind of response from her, worried that she wouldn't want to talk to anyone after that argument with her companion.

@SilverFlight

Leandra stood from her place at the table and walked over to Gigi before kneeling down beside her and putting one of her hands on Gigi's shoulder.

"Hey, I know what that kinda stuff feels like. I've dealt with it a ton while growing up."

Smiling softly at Gigi, Leandra then added, "If you ever want to vent to someone, then I'm all ears."

Leandra had no doubt that Gigi would probably prefer to talk with Falarion about it considering the seemingly blooming relationship between those two, but hopefully the offer would somewhat lift Gigi's mood.

Smiling widely, Xiao Hui was glad that Alec agreed with her phrase on laughter, but she was even more pleased when Duirk said the same thing she had said. Looking over to the hyena, she couldn't help but smile at him, knowing he was always a jolly animal, one with jokes and laughters. Honestly, she couldn't imagine a hyena without laughter. However her attention was drawn back to Alec as he spoke once more. Xiao Hui couldn't remember the last time she spoke to someone so. . . informally, and even much so, amicably. It was always buisness-talk and a facade she had to wear around even the people she lived with since the walls and trees have ears. But here, she felt as if she could breathe and if Alec was right, she would take up on his offer and mostly look to them if she wanted to find a nice laughter or comfort. At least, that's how she felt. However, soon Alec made a face, emphasizing his cuteness factor and she couldn't help but laugh at his attempt of being cute only to look like a fish. "Pfft, Alec, that's sooooo adorable." She teased him, not being able to stop giggling at the faces he made. But she stopped when Alec said she was interesting. She couldn't help but feel confused by that statement until he picked up a red piece of paper and began explaining that there were different shades on the colored paper, depending where the light shines, ones perspectives, and the way you bend the paper. Xiao Hui felt happiness bubbling inside her as she loved metaphors and different phrases. Alec's explanation was different and one she understood a lot. However, the man always found a way to make her blush as she couldn't help but feel that he was slowly making his way into her heart, in what kind of way, she didn't know. But what she did know was that he was becoming someone she cherished talking to and befriending. Xiao Hui fidgeted with her hands slightly and smiled softly, "You think so? I can't imagine . . someone seeing me in such a way. . It's. . refreshing and new. I never saw it that way before." She said genuinely as she couldn't help her rosy cheeks from showing. If she could, she would've melt right then just from being near the male and hearing and seeing his words and actions. But, when Alec said that she didn't want to know all of his sides, Xiao Hui stared at him, confused. However, seeing his expression and his tone turning from a cheerful to a solemn one. She knew he was hiding something and it was something to do with his past. Nevertheless, Xiao Hui gave a small comforting and gentle touch in his arms and have him a knowingly look and said, "If you accept me for who I am, then of course I will accept you for who you are. Everyone has secrets but I won't force you to tell me until you're ready. Sometimes. . others will see us differently than how we see ourselves. . So, don't be hard on yourself." She said sincerely before Eos came over to her and Alec.

Grinning widely at Eos, she shook her head
, "Eos, you're not disturbing at all. Please, don't be polite, we're comrades aren't we?" She said softly, gently touching Eos' face. Soon, Laohu came over to see Xiao Hui as he smelled the food, not sure what he wanted. However, as hungry as he was, he would wait until Xiao Hui get hers first before he began. But, the next words Eos whispered shocked her. L-love? Blossoming? And A-Alec? W-what? She stood there like a dear in headlights as Alec muttered something about friendly banter. Xiao Hui attempted to remain calm and passive but her reddened face and quickened heartbeat said otherwise. She tried to glance at Alec as she managed to not look at him in fear of showing an expression she had yet to see on her face, Xiao Hui giggled nervously, "I . . Um. . Of course, the meal! Yes. . let's enjoy it all. . together!" She said, flustered , trying to divert the attention of such a topic onto food. Loahu stared amused as he looked at Eos, shaking his head, nudging him before nudging the flushed face "couple". Nevertheless, as Xiao Hui was going to get food with Laohu and Eos, Alec stated he would be right back as he walked in the direction Luness and Simon went. Before she could say anything, Duirk spoke up. Smiling softly as she nodded, she spoke, "He really is a caring person, isn't he? There needs to be more people like him in the world." Xiao Hui blinked, looking at Duirk, gently slipping a finger in his coat before giggling, "Caring that is. But, yes, I'll definitely enjoy your company, Duirk. Of course, Eos and Laohu too." She smiled widely, feeling joyful to know she wasn't alone as she was surrounded by companions and people she worked on the same level with. Xiao Hui was glad she wasn't separated from the others as she took a plate of some meat for Laohu and Duirk along with some vegetables for Eos and some meat if he'd like. "Shall we go and find a place?" Xiao Hui asked them before leading them to a few empty chairs and open space for them to sit and dine with everyone else.

With ears perked and nostrils flaring, Laohu trotted his way over to his spot as Xiao Hui placed the items down for all of them to begin enjoying. Taking small bites of her noodles, Xiao Hui's eyes scanned the area as she noticed Manjano and Beth walking in and eating with the others as the one of the Watch Agents: Samantha had joined as Wedneaday left. Tilting her head, she wondered where she and Bael along with Zoe were, unless they weren't hungry. But, she did remember Zoe was injured so perhaps Bael was helping her. Xiao Hui was wrapped in her thoughts that she didn't notice she was staring into space, eating until Laohu pointed it out.
"Hui, what's wrong?" He mind linked, looking at her, thought the blood of the raw meat didn't drop down his lips, thankfully, since Laohu wanted to be a clean eater than a culture. Jumping slightly, she looked over at Laohu, Eos, and Duirk. Giggling softly she shook her head, "Sorry, I blanked out, I was thinking about a few things. Plus, I wanted you guys to chat among yourselves with me disturbing." Xiao Hui said, winking at them before humming a soft tune. Laohu raised a slight brow but let it go as he looked at the others, "I must say. . this is definitely a delicacy. The tender of the meat, the rawness and juiciness, and just the mere fact that there's now nutrient and food in my system." He said in awe as he continued eating. However, the meal was disturbed when the same woman in the blue dress suit came in, worried about Gigi. However, as Gigi went towards her companion, it seemed, the woman wasn't affectionate as Gigi was. Soon, the woman named Isabelle told Gigi who they were as Calista had mentioned that Isabella was also their operator for the Watch. Looking at the scene between Gigi and Isabella, her heart ached for the two, mostly Gigi. Xiao Hui couldn't get a read out of the woman Isabelle but nevertheless, felt deja vu hit her like a ton of bricks. She gasped lightly, holding a hand to her heart as Laohu carefully went over to where Xiao Hui sat and comforted her by laying and wrapping himself behind her. She smiled softly towards Laohu, enjoying his warmth as she looked between Eos and Duirk, seeing them looking ahead. Xiao Hui bit her lips at the small argument that was happening as she felt Gigi's resolve slipping away each time Isabelle didn't give her time, effort, or affection. However, what she did know was that Isabella did care for her companion, however, no intimacy was there and it seemed that Gigi was the type to like being hugged. What could have happened to make them that way?

As soon as Isabelle left, Alec came back spoke up about resting for the night as Leandra spoke up to comfort Gigi as Falariom made his way over as well. Gently getting up, Xiao Hui nodded, speaking softly, "It has been a long day and it's good to be well-rested for the next day." She said, but not before walking over to Gigi , as she kneeled next to Leandra but giving all of them some room and space to breathe,
"Hey," she smiled and gently said, petting her, "it is obvious she cares about you, a lot, even if she seems cold. But, everything she's doing, its for your own good and safety. You're doing an amazing job for the sake of the other animals, but we need you safe too." Xiao Hui whispered and continued, "Gigi, without you, there wouldn't be an animal rally and the unity of the others. Gigi, without you, your music and your words and outreach won't be heard. You'll have to take care of yourself and when things die down, you can continue the rally. Okay? It's not permanent just right now." She said to the poodle, before getting up and looking between Leandra and Falarion, knowing they would be able to comfort Gigi. Xiao Hui smiled towards the both of them as she looked around to see Simon and if he was alright, only to see Alec. "You need some food in your system too. So, eat before you head up?" If Xiao Hui had to be honest, she was tired, after a week of unrest, between back Home and being here within two or three days, she needed sleep. However, she felt like she wouldn't be able to sleep a wink knowing the rally was needed but at the same time, relationships would be broken.

Rin was mid mouthful when Isabelle burst in. Thankfully he was still chewing as she left, he had to stop himself from getting up and blocking her in. "This is not our fight, here is nothing you can say to her without her rebuffing and taking it as an assault." Haku whispered to him clearly reading his thoughts. "She hurts her companion in a way no Rogue agent can." He stated in a low dark tone to Haku. He then sighed and nodded his agreement with Alec. "Rest is much needed." Haku nodded, she was slow moving and feeling a little lethargic She had a nice bulge in the middle of her body, he metabolism and digestive system were a little accelerated than usual. Allowing for minimal downtime between eating and being active. By the morning, she would be her normal size, and more productive. "He stood along and picked Haku up, she curled herself around his shoulders and lay her head down on herself, coming across his neck like a white shimmering scarf. "Calista, if you get the chance, try to intercept Ms. Isabelles devices, as much as she wants to protect Gigi, if we allow her to cancel that conference, the already strained relations will be severed. And all will be for naught." He said darkly as he turned to head upstairs.

Beth grinned over at Duik, even though the realization someone else had heard her thoughts on bread made her blush a little. Glancing up at Duik distracted her long enough for Manjano to make his move, kidnapping a broccoli and putting her steak almost right on top off everything else.

"No no no!" She almost squealed, using her own fork to quickly repair the devastation to her organization. Once the buffer of broccoli was back in place and the steak was away from the other items, she relaxed. When she looked back at Manjano, he was triumphantly chewing his captive with a smirk. Beth put on a pretend serious face. "That was low." He serious expression wavered, then collapsed into a smile. "That was downright mean." There was laughter in her tone as she said it, and in the back of her mind she decided Manjano was good for her.

Totus watched blankly from his chosen perch as the pair goofed around. He had always known Beth liked to play and goof around, but things like that didnt come easily to him. Owls were birds to be taken seriously, after all. While his human tried and failed to scold Manjano, Totus realized that he hadnt been nurturing all of Beth like he should have been.

Both of their realizations were cut short by the sound of the front door. In walked the business lady from earlier in the day, making sure Gigi was alright. A little late to the party, but better late than never, right? Their conversation reinforced Beth's earlier thoughts that her own companion was part of why Gigi battled so hard for companion rights. But, the woman, Isabelle it was, seemed to have at least concern for Gigi's safety, which was a step in the right direction. They could tell that the poodle was crushed by the argument. Beth stood, intending to go after the woman, but suddenly, Totus's weight settled on her shoulder.

"This is not your fight, Beth. Let her go. There is too much hurt between her and Gigi for you to fix." The owl advised, and stepped off her shoulder onto the table as Beth sank back into her seat. The others jumped to comfort Gigi, but Beth didnt know what to say.

"Its wrong and you know it."

"Yes. But thats not for you to say. Alec is right. Food and rest is the best we can do right now." With that, Totus moved away, back to his perch.

Her brows furrowed, and she poked at her steak silently. Rest sounded like a good idea, since her good mood was now very dampened by the interaction. How awful it must be for Gigi..

Returning his attention to Beth in time to see most of her reaction, Manjano smirked at her again, as he realized that it'd been a while since he last relaxed enough to mess around with someone like this. He rather missed it and was more than content with getting to experience it again with Beth.

Seeing Beth stand up, as if to go after the irate and rude woman, Manjano followed suit, though Totus beat him to the chase in warning Beth to stand down. While it wasn't a good thing to hear, Totus was right. This wasn't anyone's fight other than Gigi's.

Slowly sitting back down after Beth calmed back down, Manjano glanced sideways at her when he heard her comment, fully agreeing with her. Still, Totus was right again. There was nothing they could really do to help other than take care of themselves and make sure they were ready for whatever came next.

As Totus left the pair, Manjano glanced over at Beth and could tell by her expression and body language that she was no longer in her bubbly mood.

Sighing softly, Manjano grabbed the last dinner roll available and held it out to Beth, a vain attempt to somewhat cheer her up after the recent events. He felt she'd probably want to rest now, though he wasn't about to suggest they share a room or anything. First of all, that'd feel very weird and uncomfortable for Manjano. Second of all, Totus would probably try to murder him in his sleep. Not worth the risk of all of the downsides.

Simon winced at Luness scolding him about his language. For a split second, Simon felt like his mother was standing behind him and staring daggers into his head after he had let a bad word slip in front of his little brother or sister. The thought made him smile as he accepted Alec's help and followed them back down the stairs. Jimbo kept close to Simon, the big ape actually wearing a faint smile across his face under his heavy brow. He was proud of Simon for giving in and talking stuff out, it was a big step for him and Jimbo felt a weight lift off of him as well.

Simon walked back into the hall and was stunned at the sight of the dinosaur atop the table pulling at drumsticks. After a nerve racking hiss from Velora, Simon looked down at Jimbo and then back to the table spying something he hoped was cheese burgers. Finding a seat and gratefully accepting the water from Alec, Simon grabbed hold of a burger just as Isabelle came bursting in. Jimbo was tossing grapes into his open maw as he listened to Gigi and Isabelle began to talk, and once again he got a very weird feeling about the woman. Back in the theatre she seemed eager to get Gigi moving along to the cars. Now she was trying to cancel her speaking. Jimbo finished off the grapes and reached for more fruit when he looked up to see Simon stuffing his face with cheese burger and fries.

"When you get sick later, don't come crying to me."

Simon shot Jimbo a sideways glance, and slowed down on the food before he choked. He looked around to the others who were trying to comfort Gigi, but his head was still floating pretty good from the whiskey, and would need to wait for some of the food to soak up the alcohol before trying to be of any help.

Luness calmly flew in after Simon and Jimbo, landing on the table and gulping down some small portions of meat from a plate while also listening to the argument ensuing between Gigi and her human companion. Those two certainly seemed to have some unsaid words they needed to say to one another.

Alas, the argument ended with the human winning and Gigi losing, leaving the poor poodle on the verge of tears.

Finishing off her quick meal, Luness spread her wings in preparation to fly over to Gigi and offer some consoling words, but the poodle soon had Falarion and Leandra at her side, who all were soon joined briefly by Xiao as well.

Deciding against crowding the poodle any further, Luness folded her wings back against her body and sighed before going back to her meal.

Overhearing Jimbo warning Simon about getting sick later, Luness made a mental note to get a room with Leandra that wasn't close to his room. She didn't really want to wake up to anyone throwing up and have to listen to it.

Gigi Felt Falarion press close to her and she fut her head under his chin. Listening to the kind words of Leandra and Xiao she looked up at them gratefully and in turn tried to smile at everyone giving her their support.

"You are all too kind." She sniffed. "It will be all right. Yes, I agree, a night to think on what 'appened, it would be good. I am so sorry for zat outburst, you may not be my fans, but... think you are my friends non?"

The hopeful look she gave them all made Alec's heart melt.

"Of course we are." He handed Simon the water as he came over. "Xiao's right, sometimes, people care...but they don't really show it the way you want them to."

"Yeah, don't let it get you too down Gigi." Duik put in his two cents as well.

Gigi nodded. "Please everyone, continue your meal. Ze rooms are already made up for each of you."

Alec heard Xiao's voice and noticed it was directed at him. He grinned as she told him to eat. "That's usually my line. But you're right." Choosing a plate of the best looking vegetable dishes he sat down and made a place for her beside him. "Don't forget about yourself."

"I'm already full." Duik said happily, sitting back from the lower table.

"I bet you are." Alec teased him, Duik just chuckled.

Calista stood in the doorway gritting her teeth. After losing Amber, seeing someone waste their bond as this Isabelle was doing with Gigi made her mad. Luckily Rin gave her a much needed distraction.

"Good idea. I'll get on that." She trotted back to her computer and was happy to see her modded programs had successfully scrubbed all traces of the virus.

As the night wore on and the remnants of the meal were slowly cleared away Alec found himself stifling a yawn.

"Man...it feels like I haven't slept in days."

"We kinda haven't slept in a while." Duik observed. "Boy am I jet-lagged."

With a huge yawn Duik sleepily headed for the stairs.

"Night all! It was a heck of a party. And to our wonderfully gracious host;" he bowed low, sweeping a paw to the side as he did so. "This has been one of my lifelong dreams! We may be from the Watch, but you definitely have a fan in me Gigi."

The poodle giggled and bowed her head too.

"'ave a good night Duik."

@everyone

Alec bid the others a good night before heading over to Xiao last. "Thanks for the dance." He said quietly, "and, for the laughs."

When Gigi questioned if they were friends, Falarion nudged her shoulder again before saying with a dorky grin, "Of course we are, Gigi and I'm here for you if you ever need anything."

At the mention of finishing their meals, Falarion glanced down at his plate, which was already emptied, and decided he wasn't really that hungry anymore.

As Duik and Alec already began making their ways to their own rooms for the night, Falarion decided he probably should hunt down Manjano and do the same.

The second after he thought of that, Falarion then suddenly let out a long yawn before closing his mouth again and then blinking sleepily at Gigi.

"Wow, okay, I'm seriously very tired after everything."

Pausing, Falarion then gave Gigi a worried look before adding, "Are you okay if I go ahead and go to sleep now? I can stay up longer to keep you company if you need it."

Smiling at Gigi when she responded to everyone's comforting words, Leandra then stood to give the poodle some more space before saying, "Like Alec and Falarion have already said, of course we're your friends, Gigi. We're all here for you. Once you're a part of the team, you're like family. Well, that's how it feels to me anyways."

@SilverFlight

Deciding that it was probably best for her to turn in for the night as Alec and Duik led the way to do so, Leandra walked over to the dinner table and let Luness climb up onto her shoulder before waving at everyone and heading out of the bar area while saying, "G'night, everyone! I may face plant if I try to stay awake any longer."

@SilverFlight

As Leandra began climbing the stairs, Luness suddenly said quietly to her, "Lea? There's something you may want to know about Simon."

Immediately shushing Luness, Leandra then said with a smile, "If there's anything about him that he hasn't told me personally, then I don't want to hear about it. If it's something personal then he should be the one telling me, not someone else."

Sighing, Luness replied, "Of course, dear."

Noting Falarion still hanging back with Gigi for now while everyone else was saying their good night's and parting ways for the time being, Manjano glanced sideways at Beth before giving her a questioning look and hoping she understood his implied question. Was she going to head to bed now like the others?
