Addy is a young intellectual, having always had an interest in Pokemon and being knowledgeable on the subject but also a general thirst for knowledge in general as she adores learning and exploring things, as seen in her interest with seeing all the different ways Pokemon moves can be used. She is a creative girl and often does come up with clever out-of-the-box solutions with ease thanks to her vast intellect and enjoyment of such challenges. However, growing up, however, this intelligence proceeded to cause Addy to struggle socially. She was ostracized as her intelligence often put her with peers older than her but also often had different interests as she often found it easier to connect to Pokemon thanks to her knowledge which only ends up further fueling her curiosity and enjoyment of learning about them.

Addy especially prides herself on her knowledge of Pokemon as she is basically a walking encyclopedia of Pokemon facts and is always willing to proudly ramble or expand her knowledge whether it be through traditional means like reading or asking an expert or unconventional like attempting to approach them. And sometimes her curiosity can sometimes lead to her walking straight into danger as she has a habit overestimating of how well she knows about approaching Pokemon, only really realizing she messed up when the signs become obvious to her. Other then that she is rather cautious and does her best to think things through, even overthinking at times. And while she is willing to admit when she doesn't know something, Addy also does struggle with admitting when she is wrong, cannot connect with a Pokemon, or needs help with Pokemon and tends to get rather defensive in those cases, and often willing to go to great lengths to prove that she is correct. After all, her intelligence especially Pokemon knowledge, and interacting with Pokemon are some of the few things she feels that she is truly good at. Thus, when she is wrong, it is a massive blow to her ego and hurts her more than one may think due to her generally insecure nature, overcompensating with her intelligence to hide the many insecurities and anxieties she deals with.

Despite this, upon meeting Addy, she is a polite and serious individual. She is rather socially awkward though and, due to past bullying, she does get rather nervous with getting close to others to almost a skittish level as much as she tries to keep her nerve and maintain a serious coolheaded persona, doing everything she can to keep things professional. That said, her oversensitive and jumpier personality does make her a bit easier to read than she likes to admit as she can easily get riled up (whether it be due to her being offended or her passions were mentioned), startled, and overall emotional. Addy also does show to be secretly intrigued in actually trying to befriend others despite her distrust, often getting initially excited when someone shares the same interests as her or easily flustered and flattered when complimented

That said, even when one does break through Addy's walls, she does show to still struggle socially. She is blunt and often tends to struggle with reading the room. But she truly does her best to be the best friend she can be even if these attempts appear more stilted and awkward due to her inexperience, often overthinking the simplest of gestures and panicking. Nonetheless, she always tries to be there and help no matter what, being deadly loyal and caring.

Addy also is rather insecure about her flaws. Having constantly been teased and mocked for her interests, Addy is quite aware of her flaws and rather self-conscious of them as she tries to overcompensate with her intelligence. However, she can easily be plagued by her doubts and worries as well as indecisiveness no matter how much she tries to seem in control. This can cause her to struggle to think on her feet, overthinking easily and getting lost in her own head hence her struggles in battling. Nonetheless, despite her hesitations, she does her best to remained determined, often being steadfast and persistent as she strives to complete her goals no matter what. Just like he would.

Having gained an interest in coordinators at a young age (much to the surprise of her parents who thought she was going to go become a Pokemon scientist), Addy had always aspired to be a Pokemon coordinator. Having always enjoyed exploring the different ways Pokemon moves can be used while struggling with battling, Addy found that Pokemon Contests provided her with the chance to explore that further and do something great. Even if others doubted her, especially due to her struggles with battling due to not being the best with thinking on her feet as well as bits of stage fright, she is determined to accomplish this dream and test the limits on what she can do with her team and creativity.

To find her cousin
While Addy's parents had cut off connections with her cousin's parents, after meeting him through her grandfather, they did their best when they noted that he was struggling with his passions as he failed time and time again to reach his parents' expectations. Addy was particularly close to her cousin as both were intellectuals who struggled with people, with Addy having always connected with Pokemon better and her cousin connecting with machines. She found solace with him and looked up to him due to his intellect and determination. He never seemed willing to give up on his goals. And she wanted to be like him, being inspired by him to chase her goals in becoming a Pokemon coordinator, no matter how hard it seemed, as the two often kept in contact through letters and visits to the Sinnoh region. Yet... some time before she began her Pokemon journey, her cousin seemed to disappear, cutting off connections with all of his family after one too many failed attempts to try and reach his parents' expectations. And this worried Addy as she took on the additional goal of trying to find him to at least put her worries to rest, hopefully by finding out that he is okay. After all, Cyrus had to be somewhere. Doing something great no doubt. Just as he hoped he would when he inspired Addy.
