“Stopped,” came Coral’s voice in his head as the fairy dragon settled around Kaudri’s shoulders. His head turned as someone entered the tavern and it was revealed to be a new person who sat at a table and attempted to order. Kaudri’s eyes followed his pet’s gaze before turning back to the cellar.

“I believe there is no longer a reason to remain hidden,” spoke Kaudri in the event that the slime person was there still within the cellar.

Hmmm. No bloodshed. How disappointing. Azrael watched as something moved by the bird and something that snelled sweet reached his nose despite the lack of a breeze, the scavenger staring at the elf girl that was helped up from the ground and now talking to the bird. He had not come across many elves in his life but enjoyed their childlike innocence and not in a good way for them.

Not satisfied with anything else, Azrael turned his attention back to the monster that looked to be of lava and molten rock, disappointment searing through him before turning and stepping back onto the roof which he began walking across to observe the rest of the city. His boots made no sound across the rooftop as he moved, the faint buzzing of a fly zipping about in the air causing him to turn his head and switch over to his inflated perception vision, focusing on the fly and reading its heat signature. Higher than normal for an insect but perhaps they were different here. Paying it no further mind, he let his vision switch back to normal and jumped across to another rooftop and walked along it. Once it got to be night he would explore some more.

Mentions: Ruby (( SilverSentinal SilverSentinal )), Group (?) (( Quinlan63 Quinlan63 , RatKing RatKing , TheCoRgiGaL TheCoRgiGaL )),

It was settled, it appears, that Ruby would be staying for a while longer here in this place. It seems he can attempt to be accompanied by her until he felt ready to inevitably journey on his own. If only in the mean time he could find a reason to stay with her, or at least with another person he could be just as comfortable with. Name making is simply very difficult if everyone like him does it for a living, also since he would be a newcomer to the adventuring scene.

"May I accompany you some more, Ruby? Before you leave this city, I mean. I would simply like to get a good grip of civilization, and... at least, I think I'm fine so far aside from the occasional demonic attack." Flotsam said. Now he wonders, and another idea has sprung up if his ambitions were to be met, to achieve a goal that could help with the universal contact of the Tortles with the others. Another concern would be a way to return to the Tortle archipelagos, but for now that was a problem for another day.

"I have been thinking of the other patrons, those that fought with us. If I meet with them, I might be able to stay with them instead, so I may not burden you with your time and generosity, for our duties would take us different ways." Flotsam points out. Another choice stayed unsaid, for he knew that would be selfish of him. The Tortle wonders slightly if she wonders to do what he wishes she might as well. "The man with immeasurable strength, who was accompanied by some people earlier during the battle, could be a group I could join. I wish to initiate a greeting with them, and to open an agreement that could benefit everyone." the Tortle said some more optimistically, hoping things could go with the way he says so. Without awaiting a response, the Tortle walks slowly towards the group, driftwood as a cane in hand to let him travel with little tense on the muscles, which all the time until know still hurts him.

"Greetings, I wish to compliment such extremely powerful display of strength during the battle. And so as you, miss." The Tortle said as soon as he came nearer towards the two. The man and woman wore something of a less common variety of clothes, well, as far as he could relate them to the common hues and fabric he observed during the little time he had at the tavern. He looks over this man's shoulder to see those that he accompanied, the girl with the mouse and the avian with the stringed instrument. "I wish to make an agreement as of current, in relation to accompanying you and your group." The Tortle said in stride, heading straight for what he asked for.

Horus looked upon the behemoth as it laid, tied to the ground, burning to death. This signaling the end of the battle, had saved the rest of the city from total destruction. He remembered at this moment that the next time he went home he would have to inform his father about the matter, most likely sooner than later. He didn't want to think about it so he pushed it out of his mind for the time being as he made his way over to the others. Seraph had used her healing magic to restore Horus back to full strength. It was a good thing too because Throwing the beast took a lot out of him and he didn't want to have Scarlet carry him around.

Good my son, once again you have proven your might, the might passed to you from the goddess of war. Mother why did this happen? Please don't tell me you sent the behemoth to test me again. Of course not, I'm a war goddess not a goddess of chaos. The beast simply followed the scent of all the people here as he was hungry looking for food. Horus could believe that and more less wanted to believe that was the truth. Sometimes it was hard to tell though wit his mother as she has done things before to force him into battle. Granted in those situations it was normally against people or monsters away from cities. His day really couldn't of gotten any worse but at least it started out nice.

"You two alright?" Horus asked Ruvo and Willow. Before he could get a response the tortle he saw earlier had come up to them complimenting him on his display of strength and asking to join his group. His group? He wasn't sure if that was the right word to call them since they just met. Yeah he was interested in them but they had no obligation to travel with him. Heck he wasn't sure at first what to say to the tortle. Then he just realized he was not the only one who had to decide.

"What do you two think?" he asked the others.

As Willow retreated back to the hiding place with Ruvo and Horus' summons, none other than Horus himself had come back to the group as well. Both he and Scarlet seemed unscathed, though a bit worn out, and the elf could only imagine why as she recalled what Ruvo had told her. She surprised herself when she became less tense when she realized everyone was okay. She was about to answer Horus' question, but suddenly a turtle walked over to them. He walked like a normal human and he brandished a cane made of wood. Willow had never seen someone like him before, and she stared in fascination as the creature spoke, supposedly proposing that he travel with them for a while. She stared at Horus as he seemed to be the one the turtle decided to ask. She wasnt really aware they were a group! The thought made her smile a bit though, as she had never been part of a group before, and she couldnt think of anyone else she would rather be a group with. She was surprised when he decided to turn and ask her and Ruvo's opinion.
"I think its a good idea," the elf said matter of factly, as if her decision would be the final one. "The more poeple who come the more fun it will be!"

Ruvo was glad to hear that Ruby was alright, though it did seem she was a bit upset about missing out on viewing the action. While it wouldn’t be the same as actually seeing it for herself, the avian bard would of offered a more detailed explanation of the battle but he was interrupted with the return of Horus and Scarlet.

The duo appeared to be mostly unscathed and aside from their somewhat tired state one may not have even guessed they fought directly with such a beast. Upon seeing Willow and himself the prince asked if they were alright though he wouldn’t get a response as the turtle creature he had seen in the fight approached the group and asked if he could join them.

It was quite an unexpected question as Horus, Willow and him weren’t actually a group traveling with one another before. However, to his surprise Horus had turned to get the opinion of Willow and himself almost as if the idea that they could be a group was fine with him.

“Oh, um...well I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It would make traveling more enjoyable, and there’s always safety in numbers”

With the behemoth seemingly immobilized and the random group of assorted races coming together, Zhara felt the threat was dissolved. She scurried closer from the roof top, ignoring the faint sounds in her acute ears and the newfound smells penetrating her sensitive nostrils. She swiftly dropped from the edge of the roof onto an awning overhanging the tavern's damaged entry way, before leaping into the midst of of the group. Zhara landed in a crouch with gentle thud and a soft jingle of her assorted jewelry in between the bird-person and the "man hero". Springing up, she cast a look over her shoulder, observing those behind her. She clicked her tongue with disinterest as she turned from the man and those at his side, focusing her attention on the feathered spectacle, ignoring those around him.

Her golden eyes wide with excitement, she smiled at the avian, "Greetings"! She exclaimed, reaching out as one would do to shake hands. Instead of waiting Zhara snatched the free hand, or was it a foot? Then began to closely examine it. "What sort of bird are you?" Gently grasping at his attire and moving about him. "To talk and dress, how cute"! She continued, caressing the feathers about his head as she circled about him. Her lack of respect for other's personal space often came with disapproval, a lesson she apparently still had not learned. "And you can play instruments?" Curious, indeed. I have seen many oddities in my lifetime, even other bird-like humanoids, but never a pretty one!" Zhara came full circle back to facing her interrogation victim. "Please tell me all about you!" She concluded, clasping her hands in front of her. Completely oblivious to her unintentional rudeness and brash behavior, she failed to introduce herself or show anyone else any interest, not mention interrupting their conversation.

Horus was very pleased to hear that the others were ok with traveling with each other. It had been a long time since he had anyone to travel with since he finally got his father to let him go about without soldiers to "protect him" from the dangers of the world. The soldiers never seemed to want to have fun either since they were with him on business so they could never lighten up. This was his chance to have traveling companions who don't spend their whole time trying to bore him to tears.

"Well that's all settled then I guess you will be traveling with us," said Horus. With that settled Horus had the full intention of them going back to the tavern but was not going to be the case. Out of nowhere a woman clad in jewelry fell out of the sky in between him and Ruvo. She began questioning him about himself and really had it not been for the fact he had just gotten out of a fight he might have snapped her neck right there on the spot for being so rude. Well that and the fact that approaching them was a group of soldiers who seemed to want to speak with him.

"Prince Horus, I bring word from the emperor," the commander said. "He wishes to thank you and those that assisted in its defeat. He would also like to ask that you and your companions join him for dinner." This wasn't unexpected and Horus kind of wished this wasn't happening. The emperor was a good enough guy but he most likely will ask Horus to go send a message home to send aid and didn't want to go home yet. Of course he was going to comply because he was not one to rock the boat, plus he may be a prince but the emperor was an ally above his station. Well at least there are places to see from here to the land of the sands.

"Of course please inform the emperor that we will be there in due time," he said. "So who want to go dine with the emperor?"

“Ah!” Ruvo briefly yelled out as he was startled by the sudden appearance of the woman in front of him who simply said a greeting before snatching his hand for a handshake. “Uhh...umm...” is all he could say to the woman’s questions initially as he felt pretty awkward with the questions and invasion of his personal space.

Only once the woman had completed her circling and inspection by poking and grasping his clothes and feathers did Ruvo actually answer any of the questions. “Well...I’m Ruvo, Ruvo Steelfeather and uh..y-yea I guess I can play instruments” he said awkwardly not really sure how to tell the woman that he didn’t appreciate the rudeness. “W-what about you, what’s your name?”

Luckily for the avian bard it seems that he may have been bailed out of his awkward and sudden conversation at least for the time being as the prince had asked if they wanted to dine with the emperor. Ruvo wasn’t certain if he would necessarily be ready for what an invitation from the emperor would entail but he did know it may be a bit more comfortable than the situation he was in now.

“That sounds great, when would the dinner be?” He asked Horus hoping to get out the the conversation about himself.

"Ruvo"?! How delightful," she cheered "Oh, of course! YOU can call me, Zhara, that would be easiest. Please, accept my apology for startling you, I know I am awfully forward. You're just very curious to me." Her thoughts were torn away though as her ears twitched once more, her nose coiling in revulsion at the presence of a detachment. Zhara was not very fond of authority figured. A low growl rumbled in her throat as she took a step back, pulling her hood tighter around her face. She listened as the group, primarily the one called Horus, received praise for defeating the Behemoth and were offered food in reward. This caused Zhara to scoff beneath her breath. How cliche, thinking to herself, she was typically easily annoyed with human routines. This particular situation was intruding on her investigation and they were going to be taking the prime interviewee away!

She stood a bit aloof, arms crossed beneath her cloak, the sharp tips of her talon like fingernails gingerly digging into her own skin. Horus was willing enough to accept the invitation, followed by Ruvo, who did not seem too interested in entertaining Zhara further. She began tapping her fingers against her arm impatiently, waiting to see what would unfold, her keen senses on alert from the sudden appearance of the unwanted guests. The hypocrisy based on her own behavior was apparent, but Zhara, ever conceited, would remain oblivious to these realizations for years to come.

Four roofs later and he had come to a stop, each time inspecting the ground below him and staring at the passerby below. Not having his partner’s grace, given his partner was a werecat, but he was able to navigate the rooftops with ease. Coming to a stop on the fourth rooftop, Azrael walked to the opposite edge and sat down, legs dangling over the side as he focused on his cloaking power, his eyes flashing as he disappeared from visible sight. Of course, when he was cloaked he could still leave footprints, be heard, smelled or touched and would leave a shadow which was why he was sitting half in shadow.

As night would fall, the werewolf would rise to his feet and stare once more at the city street beneath him. Knees cracking as he stood, he dropped his cloaking ability and switched his eyes over to infrared perception, his eyes glowing ghostly white, not even the iris or pupils could be seen. The price for this power was the burning of his eyes when using this power, something he had grown used to but it still stung for a while. Removing his boot, the human shifted into his hybrid form, the audible sound of bones breaking and reshaping as he lost muscle mass and became a half-wolf and half-man beast, his true-color fur arranging itself to blend in with his skin, his lower legs covering themselves in white fur and ending in paws.

Though his normal eyes couldn’t be seen, when he deactivated his power, his eyes would be yellow. Dropping to all fours, he stretched out his body and then tied the laces of his boots together before slinging them around his neck and tying them in place so they wouldn’t be lost. Thrusting out his head, Azrael’s black nose sniffed the air, ears twitching and listening to the sounds of the city. Grunting to himself, the wolf padded to the edge of the roof before lowering himself down to the street below via the wall, his claws sinking into the grooves as he headed for a dark side alley. Able to walk on two legs or four in this form, the assassin searched for an easy meal.

It seems that the group has made a consensus, affirmed by everyone's opinion, and it seems that this was the start of Flotsam's adventuring, the time with Ruby mostly being a rest and recuperation but exceedingly helpful nonetheless. Before he could manage a reply, it seems humans in iron apparel has arrived, whilst a robed woman of agility-based athletics landed and startled the feathered fellow in the back ranks. The latter having a seemingly more intimate and private conversation, Flotsam diverted his attention to the group of humans since they seemed to address everyone involved with the creature, which was now long deceased and partly ashes. A dinner? He has already had a helping, but this was an audience with the human emperor. An excellent opportunity.

"I thank you sincerely for allowing me to accompany your group. You shall not regret. Now then, I believe we have a meal to attend?" Flotsam said, then without forgetting, turned towards Ruby. "You should join us as well--" the Tortle said before remembering something about the Chrysomorphs having a strained relationship with human governments, and how she tells that not most royalty would be as warmly welcoming as her. "I think this would be grand. You have helped with the conflict of earlier, so you are definitely more than eligible to join us." Flotsam said, hoping she can come around to accompanying them, for he was not sure how to persuade her.

Willow looked around the group, overwhelmed with the sudden attention everyone was getting. She managed to stay out of everyone’s way for the most part as big crowds werent her thing. But suddenly Horus was approached by a very...important looking person who had asked for them to attend some sort of dinner. To the elf it seemed like this dinner was fairly special, although she wasnt exactly sure what it entailed. Finally she nodded, inserting herself back into the group.
“I’m starving, lets go!”

Ruby nodded to floatsam as he walked over to the group , insisting to join them " Well there he goes majesty" the drider said as it looked at her " Well he now has a better chance at making a name for himself with that group , he would've never made a name for himself if he stayed with me ...i mean come on , all i do is run around a forest and help nearby villages , not the greatest way to make a name though it is one of the ways to make a name " she said as she turned back to the creature , watching it burn before floatsam drew her attention again , she did slightly hear the conversation but not all of it . She hesitated for a short while before looking at the drider " tell the others were i am going so they don't run around the city looking for me " she said as she walked over to floatsam " if you insist , i do think it is about time one human kingdom puts their hatred aside for the chrysmorphs while we do the same " she said while standing next to him .

The person who had come into the tavern waited for some time before finally leaving, taking her male companion with them. He was left alone once more with the slime girl who may or may not be here any longer, the hybrid continuing to slowly tie his laces together before straightening. “It seems you are in luck,” he spoke to the otherwise empty tavern. “You will not have to do the correct thing and explain your actions to the barkeep.” Straightening, Kaudri rose to his feet and picked up his bags. “You should find somewhere else to go as you will not be getting service here miss.”

It was likely that the barkeep would not return nor their employees. Kaudri was loathe to steal something even though he could have done so and fished around in his bag before dropping a couple coppers on the table. “You can take those and hand them to a food stall that sells fruit, getting two apples for a copper each or an apple and hot bun if you wish for something substantial to eat. The latter will cost the same price.”

“Leave?” questioned Coral in the hybrid’s mind.

“Yes, we have no further business here and need to find somewhere on the morrow to trade and sell,” Kaudri said.

Coral looked towards the cellar stairs and then towards the his master. “Scared? Master not hurt unless hurt master or master’s home,” Coral spoke in the direction of the slime creature.

“Coral,” came the fairy dragon’s name. Coral swung his head back to his master and argued in favor of the slime creature coming, something that bothered the elf fairy who’d no experience with creatures that were not human, dryads, nymphs, or elves nor animal. “On second thought, you seem to possesss the mentality of a child. Perhaps it is best you come with us,” Kaudri said. Taking hold of the coins on the table, he and Coral proceeded towards the door where they would exit.

With a grunt, he released his claws and fell to the stone part below, thin trails of acid dripping from his claws and beginning to sizzle through the stone, however it was not enough to eat through the buildings. Once on the ground, he stood there for a moment, letting the scents of food and all manner of other things process through his nose before walking out of the alley and through the streets on all fours, his eyes allowing him to distinguish between the heat of living and dying as well as the environment around him. Azrael found it best for hunting at night though he could just fine without his power activate. His stomach rumbling drive the beast on through the streets, most returning to their homes or the rooms they had booked at inns and taverns.

[Time Skip] Once everyone was ready to go Horus lead them to the emperor's palace. They quickly arrived at the palace and were guided to the dinning hall. Had it been anyone other than Horus they would of gone to the throne room first but he was an exception. The room was large enough to have a group of twenty to sit and eat together. It had high walls with columns made from crystal lining them. There were tapestries everywhere telling stories of the empire and a few that depicted the moment the treaty was made with the kingdom of sands. It was an amazing sight even to Horus who was born to wealth. Once everyone was seated and Horus sent his summons away the emperor made his appearance. Emperor Titus Animus Maximus, for those who didn't know he was actually a very young man considering his station. At the Age of 30 he was the youngest emperor ever in the history of the empire, only taking the throne at age 18. The previous emperor his father had fallen ill and was no longer able to perform his duties, but Titus was well prepared. Horus had known him since they were children and knew that Titus would do well regardless that there were some who doubted he was ready. But if you saw him now you would never believe any of his doubters. He literally radiated with wisdom and grace that most men would envy.

"Horus my friend," the emperor said as he sat at the head of the table. "That was very lucky you and these others with you had been here today or I might have lost my city to a random behemoth attack."

"No problem Titus," Horus replied. "Besides it would of ruined my day and upset my mother had I not done anything. They are the ones really worthy of such praise," he said waving his hand to the others.

"Well then I must find some way to show my gratitude," said Titus. "I also might have to make some offerings to the goddess Isis as well."

"Yeah that might be for the best," Horus replied. He wasn't sure what that would matter since she did nothing but he wasn't going to get in the way and possibly get in trouble. "Oh I almost forgot to introduce everyone. These are Ruvo Steelfeather and Willow who I met today at the tavern. As for these two," he said pointing at Flotsam and Ruby. "Both helped with defeating the Behemoth. without their contribution I might still had been fighting it right now."

"Well then you both deserve a reward," said Titus. "I already know Horus will refuse anything I try to give him but if there is anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask. Ah perfect timing the food is ready." A large variety of food was brought in and it made Horus wonder if Titus had spies or something because the food was perfectly suited to everyone present.

Zhara had managed to blend in behind the troop as they came to the palace. Upon arrival, she broke off from the group and dashed into the servant quarters unseen. She sauntered around, taking note of the different halls and weaving paths as passed. She passed a section that appeared to be living quarters for servants that remained housed in the palace, then she came across their shared wash room. The wash area was completely barren as the attendants were all about the palace busy working. Zhara stood in the entryway and contemplated a moment, before lifting her arm and giving her pit a wiff. "Whew"! she exclaimed. "I reek!" Shuffling beyond the threshold, she pushed the door shut and drug a large bench over to keep it sealed.

"Which way to the kitchen?" she casually asked, plumes of steam billowing from behind her. Unsure of the individual's identity and slightly stunned by the woman, her chifton clinging to her still dampened body, the timid man stood with his jaw agape and merely pointed in the proper direction. "My sincerest gratitude," she smirked coyly, leaning close to his face, blowing him a kiss followed with puff of yellowish-green fumes. Stepping around the man, Zhara swung her cloak around her shoulders and tossed the large hood over her horns. His body, suddenly sluggish, fell towards the wash room door. Barely catching himself, the servant was able to catch a glimpse of the mess inside. Bubbles were everywhere! Bubbles from corner to corner! He turned, so very slowly, as the slowing gas gripped at all is muscles and fogged his brain, intent on shouting after the woman, but she was no where in sight.

Delicious smells wafted into her nose as she approached the kitchen, her stomach growled a low grumble. Zhara realized it had been quiet some time she had last eaten and longer still since she had anything beyond sea voyage dining. Her mouth began to salivate as she entered and took in the variety of foods. The kitchen staff was zipping around from station to station preparing and plating food then zooming out the doors with arms full plates to deliver the feast to it's proper destination. So focused on the work and distracted by the hustle and bustle, the workers paid Zhara little no mind as she maneuvered out of their paths. Her eager eyes scanned the smorgasbord of food that had not left the kitchen yet, a large cook bird catching her interest. Picking at a few items as she made her way to the mass of meat and tossing the small morsels in her mouth, she was quiet content with the find. Heat was rising from the plate, savory aromas filled her nostrils as she licked her lips then swiftly pulled a massive leg from the bird dish and took a large bite. She moaned in ecstasy at the amazing flavor, this disturbance finally catching the attention of the cook. "W-what are you doing"! he shouted as he rounded the counter, tripping over his own feet as he did. Quicker than one would think fathomable, Zhara was dashed towards the stumbling man and grabbed him by the back of the shirt right before his face smashed into the ground. A looked of astonishment crossed his face as he shot a glance up towards his savior thief, the meat leg still in hand, a large smile across her face. "Gotta go!" she chirped as she gently lowered his body the remaining distance to the floor before sprinting for the exit, snagging a bottle of mead on her way out.

Beautiful was the descriptive word you only need to tell when you saw the inner rooms of the castle itself, or whatever the Civilized races called these stone pillars that look over their buildings. Their was not a place where a human armed in metal would be standing around, to which Flotsam learned that they guarded whatever they needed to. Funnily, they were called guards for that purpose. Flotsam could never manage it in his mind of such architecture; buildings in Tortle villages were nothing more but a single, large room. Here, the Civilized put doors inside their buildings that lead to other rooms. Something Flotsam found innovative and interesting. Coats of arms, statues, so much decor that any Tortle would envy.

They arrive, and the emperor, the human race's ambassador, as far as Flotsam understood, arrived and greeted them heartily. They were as majestic as their interior decor, almost as if the castle was fashioned after them. They were gonna have a feast, and whilst the Tortle has already had a sizable helping from resting at a tavern earlier, who was he to deny such hospitality? The dishes came served, and as for the Tortle, he was served with leafy vegetables, like a salad of greens piled together neatly. There did not seem to be any other than this huge salad, which must be due to the cook's guessing of what his kind of him would eat at all, so he shrugs and picks them one by one.

The Tortle felt like he needed to say something about his duty to the human emperor, but felt he shall wait a bit longer before pursuing a conversation. He looks between this emperor and Ruby, noting how despite the princess saying she was not human, she had a lot of similarities, from figure to characteristics. Still, the faded eyes is one the Tortle could tell, along with the wings earlier that Ruby used.

It would seem that the answer to Ruvo’s question was that they would all be departing as soon as possible. As the group began to make their way to the palace the avian bard took this time to talk to Zhara though it seemed the horned woman was quite annoyed at the situation at hand and his disinterest in divulging information about himself to a stranger. “I accept your apology, it’s not very often my appearance makes people curious enough to question me. Maybe we can talk again later. Though maybe with less poking and grabbing”

Upon arriving at the palace Ruvo was amazed at the sights before him. The palace itself was a grand building and the dining hall they were led to was a tall room supported by columns made of glistening crystals. Adorning the walls were various tapestries that depicted stories throughout the kingdoms history. With the grandeur of the palace distracting him Ruvo hadn’t realized until now that Zhara was no longer with them. Huh...thought she was behind us. Hope she didn’t get lost or something.

Taking his seat, Ruvo did his best to mimic any proper table manners that he could see Ruby or Horus using as he didn’t want to upset the emperor with his low quality table etiquette . Once everyone was seated the emperor himself entered the hall. To his surprise the emperor was a tad bit younger than what Ruvo was expecting. Maybe he inherited the throne at a young age… he thought to himself as the emperor and Horus had a short conversation and introductions were made.

Once the food was served Ruvo was surprised to see that amongst the dishes were some that he adored. What a nice coincidence! he thought as a plate of fish with a side of salad was served in front of him.

Willow shuddered as they entered the grand palace. The place was much bigger than anything she could conjure up in her mind, let alone had ever seen... gazing around the lavishly decorated building, she wondered how she couldve ever been so lucky as to meet Horus and the others, not to mention as soon as she just escaped such a horrid place.
If only my mother could see me now! the elf thought to herself in triumph. Following closely behind Ruvo, they entered the dining hall. To Willow, who was still very hungry despite eating a whole bowl of blueberries back at the tavern, began to feel her mouth water. She could go for two whole plates of food. L.C. skittered excitedly from shoulder to shoulder as he took in the new surroundings as well. She sighed as they took a seat. She sat next to her bard friend nervously. Despite loving adventure, this was quite a lot for a young elf who had run away from home. Willow refused to let anyone see just how nervous she was though.
Suddenly a very wise looking man emerged to greet the group, an air of confidence and power following him. Horus seemed to know him quite well from what she could see from the casual greeting, so she relaxed a bit. As her friend introduced her to the very important looking man, she waved shyly at him, not knowing what else to do.
"...but if there is anything you need, please dont hesitate to ask." This prompted Willow's seemingly random onset of weariness, and she muttered, quite loudly,
"Well I wouldnt be opposed to a nice, big, comfy bed for some sleep..." She didnt mean to sound rude, especially to an emperor, but her tiredness was getting to her. Although it seemed to magically melt away as she noticed quite an impressive arrangement of food was presented to them. Smiling happily (and forgetting her manners), with a flick of her wrist Willow went for the first food that attracted her attention. Blueberries. Suddenly the berries rose without any sort of tangible source. They floated over and popped into the elf's mouth. She sighed happily. These were probably the best things she had tasted in years!

Ruby followed the group in complete silence as she got lost in thought , following the group through their steps and their voices . While walking she thought back on the history books she read and from what she can remember , Urbem Viventium was the name mentioned when the war between the Chrysmorphs and Humans come up . It was a dark day that day , many chrysmorphs and humans lost their lives that day and it is from there on out that other human kingdoms are so sour towards the Chrysmorphs . She nearly bumped into Floatsam when they finally stopped at the palace . Once inside she couldn't believe the interior , she couldn't believe that a race that nearly wiped them out could be so detailed and beautiful in their decoration and construction when they aren't focused on war. She stayed behind floatsam , not really to keen on having the king of the city see here but of course her assistance in the fight got her pointed out. She was surprised by the kings generosity , he doesn't seem to harbor ill will towards Chrysmorphs like other kingdoms still do......but she ain't letting her guard down yet completely , her spear held tight against her back as they walked to the dinning room . She took note of a lot of things but the main points of interest to her were the many different food and the two guards that seemed out of place . She shook the thoughts away as she took her seat with everyone else . Slowly looking over the food , she decided that the stew nearby smells far better then the rest of the food and helps herself to it , she stopped the servant from pouring some wine for her " Sorry but .....i don't drink , a water would be fine " she said as the servant left to get her some water .

Vaye was caught up to speed rather quickly , not a long of interesting things but she had a lot to tell the spymaster . When they met up with the king in the throne room he was quick to get up and pull them along again to the entrances . The king greeted everyone and lead them inside to the dinning room . They took their spot at each side of the king and spoke telepathically with each other , that same telepathy gives them the ability to gather info from anyone's mind without their knowledge .....Skurgion truly to stay true to that whole Spymasters of the World title which they don't remember agreeing to . Veya gathered her info from each individual as they all conversed with each other

" hmm....first we have a royalty , Prince Horus Cain , 3rd prince of the kingdom of sand and the son of Isis .....that would be rotten luck for regular shapeshifters but luckily Skurgion abilities even have a slight effect on divine beings .....they can't see our true forms but they grow increasingly wary of us and that is about the limit . Next is ....oh again other royalty , Princess Ruby Tesarr of the Chrysmorphs and heiress to the Nec-redarr throne , she seems wary of the king ....wouldn't blame her , back then this kingdom went to war with Nec-redarr . I should probably not delve that deep into that history .....for now. Next a tengu named Ruvo Steelfeather ....well aren't we skilled in Sound Magic and you've got big dreams.....on the right path lad....keep that enthusiasm . And now we have......oh well well well , never thought i would see a tortle here in this continent .....name is floatsam and he bares a mission ....that's a lot for one tortle but their kind should not be underestimated . Then there is the elf ..... Willow.....born to a very rich family but ran off to make her own adventure and to break free from the bubble her parent sheltered her in......poor thing . And finally , i sense someone that isn't currently in view .......Tyramikellzharazillian .....bloody hell one could die saying that 3 times fast ......so she is a copper metallic dragon " she concluded her mental search before nodding to the other. He bowed next to the king " My king.....one of the group members seem to be missing , she is currently wandering in a nearby hallway ....i shall go and fetch her " he said as he left , leaving Veya with the king .

Kaudri hefted his bag and left the tavern, Coral trotting after him when h moved out into the quietness of the city, night having fallen upon the denizens residing there. The hybrid made his way through the city, searching for somewhere to set up his furs for trade, so he headed towards the outskirts.

Horus almost broke his neck when he turned to look at Willow when she opened her mouth to ask for a bed to sleep in. Really he could not understand why she had said that when that would be the last thing that she should be concerned about. Titus only raised an eyebrow and looked at Horus almost like he was asking if she was serious. Horus was grateful he didn't demand for Willow to be removed from the palace, granted Titus was not that kind of person. He just took a sip of the wine from his goblet and tried to focus on anything other than Willow's misstep in etiquette.

"Well, I can always set you all up for the night if you need somewhere to stay," said Titus. "Although, my friend as you may know since the attack just happened without warning I was hoping you might send word to your father. "

"What would you like for me to tell him this time?" Horus asked. "I'm not sure he can give any money this time but the condition of our peoples alliance would allow you to ask for troops to help keep the city safe during repairs and possibly even longer."

"True troops would also be useful but I might like to see if he could spare some of your mages," Titus replied. "I know you have only so many, yourself included. But I know we could get things up and running faster if we had some magical aid."

"Alright, I'll see what I can do but you owe me for this one...." Horus was cut off when one of the two guards told Titus that someone else was in the castle. He wasn't sure who it could be but he had an idea.

"Well, it seems we have some company."

Willow was completely oblivious to the strange look she recieved from Horus and Titus. The only thing she was concerned about were the mouth watering berries that she continued to plop in her mouth. Eating them was the first time in a while that she begun to use her telekinesis, and it felt a bit awkward for her...

For the most part Willow was blocking out Horus’ and Titus’ talk about... whatever it was they were talking about, but the elf’s ears perked when they began talking about some other person who was wondering around the castle. She was unsure how they knew, but it sounded dangerous.

“Oh, that’s wonderful! Let’s go find them!” The more people they could get on their adventure the more fun it would be!

A city marked by a series of gates at various intervals...
Explosions...fire...screams...
Figures fighting...ruined buildings...

A pair of red eyes shot open as the violent seizure suddenly stopped, the green-skinned woman's body going still before great gulps of air were brought into her lungs as her bodily functions began working again. Lying there until the last vestiges of tremors faded from her body, she slowly sat up, head turning to look about her. Slowly getting to her feet, she waited for the world to stop spinning around her before turning to the tall oak that she had taken shelter under when night had begun to fall the previous evening and where she had remained since. Mazzush remained still for some time underneath the branches of the great oak that sheltered her from the wind before heading in a random direction, the name of the city not evident in her mind nor the names or full appearances of those figures that had been fighting. She only had gotten flashes of them, blurred forms on the edges of her vision, a floating yellow feather from one of the figures that had been fighting. Though she could not see if it was a feather from a hat or just a feather from a signed bird in the battle.

Mazzush walked on for hours, the sun gradually setting as day turned to night and still she walked on through the wilderness. Her bow was unstrung and rested across her back, the bowstring within a water-proof pouch tucked in her rucksack that was carried over her right shoulder. At her left hip hung a sword with a pair of knives sheathed in her belt. Mazzush looked ready for battle and perhaps overburdened with weapons, given the bowstaff she carried in her right hand and the double swords crossed across her back but she was ready for a fight and from the vision she had, it seemed there would be one. Of course it was possible this battle would take place within the future or had already passed, for she never knew exactly what time period her visions were about.

Her traveling took her across a rolling countryside of fertile fields and small copses of trees, across creeks and fording a large river that had rapid swift currents that knocked her off balance and caused her to plummet into its cold waters until she could manage to scramble ashore some distance downstream from where she had attempted to ford it. Stopping to dry her clothes by a fire, the night was now fully there so that by the time she had gotten doused the fire upon getting dry again, some time had passed. Still the woman pressed on, as if the night was no hindrance to her and indeed it was not, her race blessed with being able to see in pitch blackness and dimly-lit caves as if it were day thanks to her orc ancestry.

Night was full circle when Mazzush approached a city surrounded by steep walls, walls that were complete rubble by the time she got there and smoke still rising up in the air thanks to the winds that blew hauntingly across the expanse. She walked up to a guard who was looking over the damage of the wall, cradling an injured arm to his chest. "What happened here?" Mazzush questioned, the injured guard who stared blankly at her, a sneer twisting onto his face as he noted the woman's appearance wasn't entirely human.

"We were attacked by a Behemoth," spoke another guard who noticed his companion's look towards the traveler. "A group of strange travelers and Prince Horus defeated it a few hours ago."

Mazzush nodded as she looked from one guard to the other. "Where would these strangers be?" she questioned.

"I believe the king invited them for a meal in the palace but he is not welcoming strangers off the street. You'd best find an inn or somewhere to make do for the night," said the guard. "You'd best get that wound healed," said the guard to his companion as Mazzush started forward towards the city.

"It's just a scratch," said the guard in a stubborn tone though there was a hint of pain in his voice.

Mazzush paused and turned, heading back towards the injured guard. "Let me see," said Mazzush, as she set her pack down and then straightened. With some obvious reluctance, the soldier held out his arm as Mazzush took his arm in hers, the guantlet on his arm lying on the ground and crushed beneath the stone. As she placed her hand over the cut, she concentrated on the wound, searching for any signs of infection. Her hand became bathed in teal light as her healing abilities took hold and the wound began to heal, eliminating any chance of infection and closing before the man's eyes. In exchange the wound appeared on Mazzush's arm where the wound had previously been on the guard's and she straightened, the guard winching as the healing took place and sighing in relief as the pain ebbed away. "You're welcome," said Mazzush, knowing she wouldn't be thanked by the guard. Picking up her pack, she headed towards and across the ruined rubble of the wall, navigating it like a goat navigates the rocky slopes of mountains, and disappeared inside the city.

The food was easily the best the avian bard had ever eaten as each bite proved to be simply delectable. "Is this what royalty eat all the time? " he thought to himself wondering how Horus would settle for some food and drink from a simple tavern if he had food like this back in his kingdom. Ruvo's deep enjoyment of the food distracted him from realizing that Willow had requested a bed from the emperor despite the fact that he was pretty sure that the emperor had offered a reward to Ruby and Flotsam and not the elven woman though that certainly didn't stop her from asking anyways. What did, however, catch Ruvo's attention was when Willow suddenly exclaimed that they should go find someone.

"Um...find who?" Ruvo asked a tad confused of about who exactly Willow was referring to as he did not possess quite as sharp hearing as her.
