Ruby was taken back by the sudden change of the earthquake but saw it as an even bigger problem when the towns person came in yelling monster " Listen floatsam , we need to head off , i know you expected a peaceful day but it isn't happening now so we need to hurry " she said before one f her driders came in again " Princess we need to go . "A monster attack!?" he said worriedly under his breath as he quickly picked up his backpack and lute before realizing that even if he fled he had no idea of where he would go to seek better shelter or the scale of the attack. For all he knew it may not even be safe to be out in the open depending on what the monster was. Looking around the mostly empty tavern now the only ones that seemed to be staying put for the moment were Horus, Scarlet, Willow, a shadow elf that had been seated at the bar, an elven looking man coming up from what Ruvo presumed was a cellar of some sort, and a few other stragglers that were maybe too drunk to understand that there was a potential incoming danger. "So..do we hold up here and hope for the best?" he asked a bit nervously to anyone that may have plan of what to do.

From the East, a crow's nest began to peak the horizon. Billowing about the structure was a tattered black flag accompanied by several, likewise, unremarkable black sails. The ship was otherwise unmarked, this was the best mode of transport for the scurvy lot. In the crows nest, the lookout positioned there was snoozing away, so unbeknownst to him, a stealthy trickster approached. Ascending the main mast with unbelievable grace and speed, the nimble female poked her face over the lip of the nest with a mischievous grin spread wide across her face revealing a pair of tiny, sharp fangs. He golden eyes glistened with humor as her lean, muscular arms lifted her above the vessel's rim. From the deck, the other crew members snickered in delight for forthcoming comedy. The Captain, at the helm, shook his head in amusement with a soft smile as he guided the ship across the gentle waters.

Drawing in a deep breath, chest expanding, threatening to expose her full bosom beyond her plunging cut garment, she was ready. As loudly as possible, the prankster shouted straight into the slumbering man's ear, "Jonesy!" The terrified watchman, shot up quicker than a frightened cat. As he did, his "attacker" snatched the flintlock from it's hostler before springing away in a back-flip onto a near by beam. Jonesy looked about frantically for the threat, reached for his gun, which to his confusion was missing. The giggling from his side was enough to ease his fears as he turned and glared with annoyance at the gorgeous perpetrator. His flintlock twirled by it's trigger guard with ease among the thief's slender finger. From below the, ship hands all had erupted with laughter at the spectacle, but soon they ushered back to work in preparation for docking.

"Zhara"! He shouted, more annoyed than angered. "Gimme that back and cut out the fool making. I'm 'sposed to be keepin' a lookout!" Another giggle passed her full lips as she flicked the weapon from the tip of her talon like nails towards it's owner. "I am aware." She chirped. Jonesy caught it clumsily, fearing a misfire, he shot Zhara an accusatory glare once the gun was secured.

"But you were not keeping a lookout!" She exclaimed with glee, a large smile adorning her face. "See there beyond the bowsprit, it's land! Urdem Viventium is upon us! Our journey's end is nigh!" She turned to depart, casting a sly wink over her shoulder, "Better I to inform you with a harmless scare, than the Captain with a bullet in your arse." Jonesy cocked his head and shrugged, she was not wrong. Beam by beam, Zhara descended about half way to the deck before free falling the remaining distance. A soft thud from her bare feet on the wood floor was followed by the gentle jingle of assorted bronze anklets, bracelets and piercings she had adorned herself with. The impact of her landing jostled the clasp of the bronze, ram shaped fibula of her right shoulder open, causing the dark, olive green chiton to fall loose. Hopeful, peeking eyes were dismayed as Zhara swiftly snatched the parcel and pinned it back in place.

From the helm, Captain Varaxle smiled down at the impeccable creature he had allowed upon his ship some months ago. Not that he could have kept her off had he wanted to. While docked on a tropical island, seemingly in the middle of no where, in hiding from a caravan they had robbed, Varlaxle came across Zhara. Zhara had been on the run herself from a flock of Harpies some shores back, where her harmless pranks got her in trouble when she accidentally broke a relic of theirs. Weary from flight and this island being the only solid mass to land on for miles and miles, fate brought the two together. Intrigued with the dragon and enthralled by her beauty, both in her true form and humanoid, Varlaxle spent most of their island dock in her company. Equally interested in his pirate lifestyle, Zhara requested a space on the ship upon departure. Although, she would have stowed away if denied at any rate. She was in no hurry to get anywhere, her life is a long adventure, but she did not wish to fly without knowing where the next time she could land and rest would be either.

He watched as her hips swayed beneath her garment, the slits on each side rising dangerously high, as she climbed the stairs to his side. She ran her fingers through her hair, shaking the dark, wavy locks loose from the moist, sea air then stretched her arms a high above her head, standing on her tip toes. A soft moan slipped out while during her stretch. Every move she made was seductive without trying, a trait Varlaxle had never been able to understand, and did not care to. "He's awake now." Zhara cooed. "So, I noticed." Varlaxle chuckled lightly, dipping into a bow and sweeping his large rimmed hat before him, the massive plume atop dusting the ground. "Another victim falls prey to the Clever Copper, Tyramikellzharazillian the Trickster." He praised with titles he had created for her. Retracting back and placing his hat upon his head, Zhara could see sadness in his bright blue eyes as they stared off in the distance. "What troubles you, my Pirate Love?" She asked, placing a gentle hand on his should. The words stung him a little, "Pirate Love", he knew she had many loves in her lifetime, and would have many more even long after he left his world.

"Our journey is at it's end." Varlaxle replied. "Indeed!" You can finally make coin from your bounty, rest and be merry before your next adventure." Zhara acknowledge with excitement, trying soften what she knew was the hurt he felt. "My time with you, as well, is at it's end"? The question came with a tinge of hope as he shifted his gaze to hers. "This you know and you have known, so please, do not dismay, take joy in the time we had. Please, smile when we depart, lest you break my heart." The two became close in more ways then one, even though Varlaxle knew their time was fleeting. Zhara would not be held down and even if she were to stay, he was a mortal. Anything more than what they have would be futile. So, they enjoyed each other to the fullest for what time they had, for this is was indeed joyful and did not regret. Varlaxle took her hands in his and placed a kiss on her knuckles then smiled a sincerely happy smile, "That, I would never do, my Dragon Love".

The ship came to dock, on the shore aside instead of port, this was a pirate ship after all. Some of the crew waved good bye and shouted terms of endearment towards their departing friend while they bustled about setting up for the stay and bringing out the bounty to sale at market. Zhara scanned the crowd of pirate's for her's. Varlaxle always stood out though, unlike most rogues of the sea, he was a proud man. Clean shaven and sharply dressed. Black hair and bear trimmed closed to his skin. The two made their goodbyes with promises of seeing each other again and blessings of good health. Zhara left him one of her long, bronze earrings, which he attached to his hat. Varlaxle gifted her a copper ring sporting a large emerald from his mid finger to her thumb. "Got that from a Governor while in Cirul, it was great honor that he bestowed it to me." Zhara cast him a judging look, "You took it off his severed finger when you robbed his estate"! She recalled with a humored smile. "A true honor." He winked. They embraced and shared a last, deep kiss. And, as promised, Varlaxle wore his devilishly handsome grin as Zhara sauntered off up the beach.

The sand beneath her toes was delightful, the sun warming her tan skin felt amazing! The beginning of this new journey was off to a good start. Zhara was greeted by guards some time later at the entrance of the city, Urdem Viventium, Varalxle had called it. Being the spontaneous adventurer she is, she decided to explore. "Identification." One of the guards demanded with his hand out. Amused laughter roared from Zhara's belly, then with unfathomable speed, she placed her hands on the man's shoulders and propelled herself, twisting up and over him like a gymnast onto the gate behind him. A few swift movements brought her to the top, which she promptly dropped from. "Later, gents." She called mockingly as she sprinted off into the city. She quickly found a stand selling an assortment of garments, which she briskly grabbed a beige robe and tossed the merchant a more than fair coin for, then bounded off further into the heart of town with the hood of the new found robe hiding her face. Zhara had no sooner gotten into anything of much interest when her bare feet felt a tremble in the earth. The shakes came closer and harsher towards the city, then from the opposite side, a loud BOOM and plume of dust. "Well, now, whatever could that be?" She moved toward the disturbance with curiosity, but without much haste.

Once the tavern dwindled down to a low number of people Horus got up motioning for Scarlet to do the same. Horus wished he could just leave and not go do what he was about to do. But his mother did want him to go an defeat the beast, for what reason he was not sure. Of course it was for the good of the city but as a goddess she did have her own reasons that benefitted her. He feared the day that he would die and finally join her as a god for all time doing her bidding. At least then I'll be all powerful and have time to relax.

"I guess it's time to go kill a monster," Horus said. "You both should of left with the others if you wanted a chance to find somewhere safe. At the speed that a behemoth moves it will be getting past the cities defences and will be close soon. Or you could just stick with me and watch me fight a giant monster, might even make a good song," he said looking at Ruvo. It did just dawn on him that he couldn't watch them both and fight the monster all at once. "Looks like we are going to need more help." Snapping his fingers twice two magic circles formed on the ground with a women standing in each of them.

"Perfect, Seraph and Amaterasu here will watch over you and keep you safe." Now that their safety was looking better he could fight without having to worry. "They can keep you safe until this whole ordeal has been dealt with. Scarlet you're with me." he said before rushing out the door with Scarlet on his heels. He didn't have much time left to talk so he would leave the choice making to them on what they would do. At least if they tried to hide they would have some way to stay safe.

They moved as fast as they could but by the time they got there the behemoth was trying to break down the city walls. The guards were doing their best but nothing they did seemed to work. Sad thing to say but between all the humans the empire didn't have the military might that it liked to say it had. For the most part Horus' own country had a more power fighting force but had a peace first policy. So as it was the city was not at its best to defend itself from attack.

Before he could come up with a plan the behemoth burst through the wall with large chunks of rock flying everywhere. It was about to charge but before it could Scarlet had already closed the distance and slashed it with her sword. For good measure Horus ran up and gave the beast a punch in the face knocking it of its feet. That didn't seem to be enough as it got back up daring Horus to try again.

Why can't they just stay down after the first hit.

Finally Willow’s heart began to race. She actually knew what she was supposed to be feeling in a situation like this. Horus got up and so did she, albeit a bit unsteadily. Her fear only grew as she realized she wasnt necessarily in the best shape to be doing much right now, and Horus had decided to play hero all of a sudden. Although she didnt know much about him, she still decided to speak up. Suddenly her fear about looking foolish in front of the prince was long gone, replaced by an odd exasperation.
“Well how come you think you can just go and kill this thing?” The elf jumped as suddenly a light being with enormous, angelic wings appeared beside her. According to Horus it was to keep both her and Ruvo safe, which secretly she really appreciated. CRASH
A thunderous noise shattered the air. Bricks flew everywhere and almost hit her in the arm, causing Willow to flinch. Her eyes travled up and up until she had to sheild her eyes from the sun just to get a glimpse of the beast’s face. The thing was enormous... suddenly Willow’s courage was out the door, and she cowered behind the seraph.
“You know, youre right,” She called to Horus who was already bravely facing it head on with his partner, “youve got this!”

The fear and horror strikes the hearts of men, as the shrill cries of the townspeople were making noise of the unknown assailant coming upon the city. Ruby has managed to command her loyal subjects to escort them out, but not before leaving the tavern first altogether. Flotsam then remembered them to be those that assisted the princess at the coast. The spider legs frighten the Tortle, but when push comes to shove, Flotsam had to reluctantly receive their offer and was helped by the spider person Ruby called a drider, if he heard correctly. He was still sore, muscles aching as he climbed on, but he managed to not get any muscle tense from an awkward position once he was settled.

As they made their way through the city, there it was, crashed upon the gates. It was demonic. The fiend is a large four arm walker that glowed visible embers inside of it, everything else as dark as coal. He recognized some of the defenders of the city as some of the patrons in the tavern earlier. However, he was not sure of the fact. Flotsam was not sure of anything at the moment. Monsters attack cities here? How utterly dangerous.

If one thing came to mind in all of the frightening scenes the overlap each other at the current time, it was of the idea he had received from Ruby earlier; making a name. But that meant that he needed to assist them with the beast, and for all he knew he would be joining his compatriots for an early grave. The Tortle's mind struggles to choose, and as of current is indecisive whether he will follow whatever Ruby wants to do, or jump down and join into the fray. Oneself or others, worried yet self-preserving, virtue and affliction; none can be a better epitome of indecisiveness as the Tortle at current.

Ruby looked around in haste , this was the only way back to Nec-redarr and this creature was blocking it . The thoughts raced through her head now , staying here in the city would be a death sentence anyway but Chrysmorphs fight in swarms not small packs like their little group . She sighed as she jumped off of the driver and got her spear "princess ...what are you doing......oh no majesty we are not fighting that thing , it would be suicide " one of the driders said " That thing is going to flatten the entire city , it is suicide either way ....lets rather go down fighting , then go down cowering " she said as she readied her spear . The driders looked hesitant for a moment before they drew their weapons . Ruby turned to Floatsam " I believe you'll get your name noticed floatsam , i just don't know if i can assure you that it is the most healthiest of ways to do so " she said as she turned her head back to the creature " Swarm or not , we live , fight and die together in the name of the hive " she said the Chrysmorph phrase as they all readied for the creature

It would seem that Horus would be the one to speak up and going off of his words the prince definitely intended to combat the monster head on. Though his words raised a bit of a red flag in the mind of the avian bard. Horus had already somehow known that the monster attacking was a behemoth despite not having seen it and that it would be closing in soon. Did this mean the beast was after something in particular and the prince knew the direct path it would be taking or was it after Horus himself?

Ruvo’s thoughts were interrupted when Horus had mentioned that viewing his battle with the monster may inspire a good song or story, one that Ruvo himself may be able to make. He’s right…this would be a good opportunity, but I don’t want to get in the wa—

During mid thought Ruvo heard Horus mention they would need more help and at the snap of his fingers two women were summoned and at Horus’s command they were told to watch over Willow and him until the behemoth was dealt with.

Once Horus had run out of the the tavern to face the behemoth Ruvo looked over to the women who Horus had referred to as Amaterasu. “I apologize if it causes you a lot of trouble, but... I'm going to and try to view the battle against the beast” he said before taking a deep breath. Ruvo was scared but his first chance to write something based on heroes fending off a monsterous foe was before him and he didn’t want to let the opportunity pass. As he started to exit the tavern he began strumming the strings of his lute as he channeled magic into the instrument. Before long Ruvo’s steps became silenced alongside the sound of the lute. It may not perfectly hide his presence, but he hoped it would enough so he could watch the battle unfold without getting attacked. Whether or not Amaterasu followed him to ensure his safety, however, was up to her.

Kaudri had silently watched as one-by-one people emptied the tavern until there was only a few people left within. These people too soon disappeared, the elf-fairy hybrid staring as he saw one man dressed in fine clothing and armor snap his fingers twice and two women appear within the tavern. Half-man spiders somehow squeezed themselves through the door and approached a talking turtle who clambered up onto one of the half-man spider's backs and rode the spider out like it was a horse or unicorn. The hybrid had never seen such a thing in his life, coupled with that, there was a bird that was stringing an instrument that darted out after an elf woman, the sight which caused Kaudri's eyes to flash with anger. For all he knew, the elf woman could be a relative of some sort on his father's side or another child. When it was empty, barring him and the slimy glob person, well at least he thought so, he whistled to Coral who flew over and dropped the coins in his hand. Kaudri pocketed them since there was no reason to pay for something one wasn't likely to get. Not when the patrons of the city were likely to die anyway.

Coral came to rest on Kaudri's head, red eyes staring at the cellar of which Kaudri had exited. "Fight or stay?"

"Observation only Coral," spoke Kaudri as he went to a vacant table and flipped through one of his bags. The hybrid was in no rush to head out into a fight against a monster, something he had no experience with and was not expecting at all when coming here to trade and sell things before heading back home to his forest. The worst he had to deal with was illegal hunting by all sentient races and poaching of course.

Zhara had taken to the roof tops to avoid the massive crowds that were darting a muck in terror. The disturbance became apparent at this point. A large Behemoth had began a rampage on the city, but why? Zhara had seen several of these beasts in her lifetime, some that were much larger than this one, yet never so close to civilization. Behemoths are wild beasts, they had no need to infiltrate areas for riches or glory. Perhaps the food source in it's habitat is sparse? She shrugged off the analysis, the reasoning behind the creature's appearance held no importance to her. It would be terribly rude of me allow the starting point of new adventure to be destroyed, though. Possibly even bad luck! She thought to herself. Zhara peered down from her perch, arms crossed, casually leaning on the railing to observe the events below. Then again, those two seem more than capable of dealing with the simple beast. Thinking to herself as the male and female combatants made moves on the Behemoth. An incongruous yawn escaped her mouth as she decided she'd only observe for the moment.

Coppers, though formidable and more than capable of battle, preferred not engage unless prompted. They preferred using their wiles and cunning over force. It was very common to see her kind taunting and teasing a foe until they simply gave up or ran away, likewise, they would use tricks or traps. Or, as in this case, they are at times very lazy and choose to do nothing. So to see a Copper Dragon take action is a sight indeed! For now, Zhara decided not to intervene; however, she did think to herself, That might prove an issue, though.... noting the elven female darting into the fray after....a mouse? Strange.

Willow watched as Ruvo headed out the door as well, playing his instrument as he went along.
How in the world is he so calm?! the elf wondered, then suddenly panicked as she realized she was alone with the seraph.
“H-hey! Wait up, dont leave me!” she scampered after the bard. Her bag, she kept slung around her shoulder (which she had completely forgotten about), bounced against her leg, which woke the sleeping creature held inside. A sudden squeaking caused her to pause and look down at L.C. Picking him up delecately, she was about to put him on her shoulder, but before she could do so the ground shook violently again and she dropped the mouse in her panic. Thankfully she had had her mother put a spell on her little friend a long time ago, so any danger posed to L.C. wouldnt hurt him as much as it would a normal mouse. However, this knowledge didnt stop Willow from leaving Ruvo and the seraph’s immediate side and towards the danger as her mouse, which apparenly also knew there was a very real threat around, began to run blindly in the direction of the monster. Unfortunately, Willow’s intake of the wine earlier was still affecting her sight as well as her balance, and she couldnt keep up with L.C. as well as she wouldve liked.
“L.C. you come back here right now! We have to go find somewhere to hide!”

There was no time to lost, as Ruby has stated so far. She brandishes a weapon and prepares to fight the beast as she says that it was either to fight or die trying; no in between, and no point in cowering like a coward and awaiting death. They simply had to do something. Flotsam follows their inspiring semi-speech, dropping down from the drider he rode to let them be with its princess and so that Flotsam can stay far back. As stated earlier, two have already begun fighting it, and what appears to be-- oh, how imprudent, a person chasing after a rodent, leaving them very prone to the creature.

Flotsam fumbles for his pack, which was for some time now drenched from seawater, but has at least lessened to a slightly damp state without irritation of dripping. A miracle was it to find some of his prepared flasks were still intact, although it was easy to find many have gone missing since, and many pieces of what was once a flask have their sources long gone at sea. Flotsam would need to organize them later, for now, he needed to do something. He runs up nearer to get a better throw, but instead of a run it was more of a skip as if he was bad on one leg. Which he was. Anyhow, Flotsam picks up one of the green swishing liquid flasks, and attempts to throw it at the creature. However, the fiend would prove to be too fast for Flotsam to directly hit them with, and instead would easily just fall short and explode near it.

explosion_fullscreen_01_dribbble.gif

The sound of crackling fireworks erupted, along with green smoke. Anything near the substance would prove to be a bit immobile, stunned, to explain it simply. He only wished that any ally who approaches will know not to go near the fumes of it, and that the beast would be dumb enough to go nearer. If only his allies can somehow manage to push it towards the long-lasting gas of immobility; it should still be visible for a while for everyone to know...

The behemoth had been giving Horus and Scarlet a run for their money. Whenever it looked like they might get the advantage the monster just roared forcing them to stop and plug their ears. If they didn't get some help or had a chance to land one good hit this was going to take a while. Horus was too focused on the fight in front of him so he didn't see Willow running after her pet mouse. That it what Seraph was for after all. She didn't need to be told what to do as she has served many masters and would not dare disappoint her current one. Opening her wings she flew towards Willow and L.C. grabbing them both in midair flew out of range of the behemoth placing them next to Ruvo and Amaterasu.

"Be careful mistress, my master would be so upset if something happened to you under my watch." Back at the fight Horus tried to come up with a good way to deal out the maximum amount of damage. It was at this point he wished he had just used another summon but it take energy from him to cast that spell and he was going to need what he had left for the fight. Scarlet was also limited to empowering her weapon three times and couldn't afford to waste it on attacks that would do no good.

A loud crackling sound made him risk looking away and he saw a large green flame. Now Horus didn't know what kind of flame that was but he had a good feeling that it would be a good idea to get the monster in it before it went out.

"Scarlet distract the beast for me," he said. Scarlet empowered her sword and slashed it behind one its legs making it change focus. This is when Horus' insane plan comes into action. Had anyone heard what he was thinking they would of thought it to be the most stupidest plan ever. Heck most would not even believe it possible but Horus was not a normal man. Running up from behind the monster Horus jumped up to grab the tail tight in his hands. Using all the strength he had he threw the beast into the flames nearly almost taking out a couple buildings in the process. He was nearly drained from that feat of strength that he could of laid down and not gotten up for three days.

"That... Is how you throw a monster."

Stumbling her way after her stupid mouse, she suddenly learched off of the ground.
“Ach!” Willow yelped as she realized she was being dragged away. Suddenly she began to thrash madly.
“Let go of me you monster! I need to get my mouse! Someone hel-“

“Be careful mistress, my master would be so upset if something happened to you under my watch.” As the seraph spoke calmly to her, Willow’s body language matched her tone. She glanced over at the winged girl with a glare.
“I appreciate the help, but you dont understand! My mou-“
Willow was cut off when a sudden squeaking yet again caught her attention. There, in the seraph’s hand, was L.C., perfectly safe and sound. The elf grabbed for him and put him safely back in the pouch. As they landed, Willow began to feel very ill and more dizzy than she had felt ever. She meant to say a quick thank you, but she decided to sit down before she threw up on anyone. Taking deep breaths, she closed her eyes and just hoped the monster couldnt magically find its way to her. Unbeknownst to her, Horus had executed a dangerous yet successful move to take the beast down. She had heard the crash of buildings and the ground shake, but she assumed it was still raging about the town. Her heart was hammering with anxiety, but she was too tired and sick to open her eyes again.

Ruby and the drider watched the creature approach , despite the commotion around them , they kept their focus in only one place , in front of them where the large monster resided . She was about to order them to attack but quickly shut her mouth as she saw floatsam move past them and throw something at the creature . Before they knew it , they were greeted with a green explosion that left behind a beautiful fire . She and the driders watched as some being started messing with the monster and not long after that , the monster was thrown down into the flame face first . She knew that large creature wouldn't stay down for long so she got an idea " Driders , use your webs and keep that thing in the fire ! , let it inhale every last bit of it ! " she yelled as the driders nodded , running over to the downed creature , leaving a web hooked on the ground before running over the creature back and forth . After just a short while , their webs started acting as straps , keeping the creature bound to the ground and into the fire before backing away from the creature and returning to their princess .

Ruvo had been carefully watching the ongoing battle behind the cover of a nearby building and was amazed of what he was seeing. It was just like in the stories, a group of individuals in a tavern that barely knew each other working together to fendoff a monster to save the town. There was Ruby and the spider creatures with their spears at the ready, a turtle creature casting a green explosion that left behind a roaring fire in an attempt to strike the behemoth but narrowly missing, Scarlet and Horus trying to trade blows with the monster, and Willow running straight at the behemoth...wait what?

“Willow!?” He said suprised to see the elf who he had thought was right behind him when he had left the tavern now running straight at the monster and not behind cover with him. Luckily, however, Seraph had swooped in and grabbed Willow and apparently her pet mouse who she was chasing after and set them aside next to him and Amaterasu.

Glad that Willow was now safe and sound he turned his attention back to the battle.
Things were definitely getting a bit hectic as the behemoth’s defeaning roars were making it difficult for those combating it to do much. That was when Ruvo witnessed the most impressive feat of strength he had ever seen. Horus with the help of Scarlet in one swift move got behind the behemoth, grabbed onto it’s tail and then threw it into the fire and green smoke created by the turtle creature in an attempt to put the monster down for good. Had he not been there to witness it he may have thought it to be some tall tale. The daring and impressive act to finish off the behemoth was then bolstered when Ruby commanded her drider soldiers to secure the beast to the ground so it would stay in the flames as long as possible.

Now while Ruvo knew he couldn’t directly combat the behemoth like Horus, Ruby, or even that turtle creature he did know that he could at least do one thing and that was to use his magic to silence the monster’s near defeaning roars of pain while it burned. Plucking the strings of his lute Ruvo swapped the bubble of silence he had used to silence his steps and moved it around the behemoth’s head. For those that were right next to the beast the roars would noticeably and suddenly stop which would prove to no longer be a deterrent if the beast were to have a second wind, which Ruvo hoped wouldn’t happen.

Ruby watched as the beast slightly calmed but it was strange to have his roars also stop , she turned to see Ruvo playing his flute " Ah .....musical magic of some sort or an magically enchanted lute !" she yelled from where she was standing before looking back at the creature as she walked over to floatsam . " In all honesty , this went better then i thought .....is a shame about some of these buildings though , homes and businesses ruined because of a wild animal " she said as she looked at the rubble of the buildings that were caught in the monsters wrath before turning to floatsam " Well....i guess this is were your name making starts floatsam for you provided us with a way to defeat the creature.....or at least mellow him " she said before turning to her driders " go and find the merchant , im sure with these problems now , the city won't be completely open for trade , we will have to pack up and go " she said before turning back to the monster while the driders scurried off to track down the merchant that is most likely hiding deep within the city

Willow opened her eyes as the feeling of sickness thankfully passed. Suddenly she couldnt hear the roars of the beast or the crashing of buildings. She lifted her head, but she was too fatigued and dizzy to do much else, so she glanced at Ruvo.
“Hey.. whats going on? Whats happened?” She could still feel her heart racing, and there was still no sign of Horus or Scarlet in their hiding place, so she assumed they must still be out there. After all of the excitement, L.C. was fully awake now, and he kept trying to scramble up on Willow. She grabbed him delicately and put him on her shoulder. She never wouldve gone into danger if it had been any other creature. This little mouse was her only true friend though she felt, as he had been with her to listen to her rant about her parents since she had learned the art of rebellion. He had been her only real company, and she loved him! She didnt expect anyone to understand, but that was alright with her.

On one of the buildings near the city gates, the air was still and hot, almost of a suffocating nature. Though not as stifling as it would be while in a desert, it was an annoyance to the hooded figure standing on the edge of the roof. The blue and brown hooded coat overlaid a white vest under which a brown shirt was worn with blue pants that stopped just above his calves was accompanied by brown boots. Hidden from view by his cloaking ability, he was able to watch the ongoing action with ease, eyes staring intently at the battle below him as people raced to contain the beast that wrecked havoc on the city below.

The heat radiated from the monstrous beast was lost within the stifling air, only increasing the temperature near those unfortunate enough to be near it. The creature itself was far taller than any species he had seen before on Dacorna, appearing like living molten rock for it was covered in black skin all over with remnants of reddish-orange lines like lava or fire made up its blood. Well his power would be of no help, it would just vaporize on impact. After quite a long fight, the beast was finally thrown into the fire, destroying a couple more buildings in the process and then tied down with webbing that came from...spider men? More monsters to contend with but perhaps an interesting choice of meat there.

There was green fire appearing suddenly, garnering his interest and for a moment he hoped his partner was not dead, that he'd somehow come back within this land. The panther had been the only other strongest one to survive the experiments and torture, the beatings and isolation, and was the only other one besides master that he tolerated without wanting to rip their throat out. As the fire cleared and he looked closer, thrusting his head out and flaring his nostrils, he frowned as he saw a turtle person walking around on two legs and throwing vials which seemed to be the cause of the fire. Liquid fire? Perhaps I ought to get that information out of the turtle before cracking his shell open.

He hoped the beast would get up and cause more destruction and bloodshed, thus making this trip to this city worthwhile to him. It was boring otherwise being here. The scent of bird reached his nose and he pivoted on his heel, walking the length of the roof edge, following the scent to see a bird...correction a somewhat large bird covered in yellow feathers and clothes, strumming an instrument. There was no otherwise human appearance about it and he glanced between the playing bird and the walking turtle who also bore no human resemblance at all. How interesting.

From her perch, Zhara continued to observe the spectacle below. So much was happening! The "issue" she previously perceived was swiftly snatched into the sky by beautiful, winged creature and taken to safety. A Tortle, she knew by pictures and fable only, tossed a vial into the midst which promptly exploded into a screen of green smoke. She personally was unsure of it's purpose, but the male she observed earlier seemed to at least have an idea. His female ally moved at the beast, followed her partner TOSSING the massive creature into the gaseous substance.

Zhara wrinkled her nose in disgust at the spider-like humanoids that made their appearance. "Ick!" She spat as her gaze moved back to what seemed to be their master, another bug-like thing she was not familiar with. Then, she noticed something fascinating! Earlier obstructed from view by the flying woman's wings, was another gorgeous female, all the three of fantastic women Zhara could only assume were some sort Astral beings. But, what really caught her eye was the bird creature! She would have to definitely investigate that!

She bounded from rooftop to rooftop until she was within a few yard of the group. Taking precaution to stay out of sight, Zhara tucked behind a stone beam. She shifted her gaze back to the trapped Behemoth. It seemed docile enough at this point, but she decided stay her movement until she was certain. Her curiosity to meet the bird-thing was great, so she kept it within her sights. However, her desire to put much effort forth toward the finalization of the beast was non-existent. Coppers we so terribly lazy unless benefits were readily available.

Princess Veya had arrived only a week ago in a port town that was under Skurgion law , Breakpoint Bay was the name of the place and already did skurgion scouts report all their findings on the land to her and needless to say she was impressed. Never did she think that the land from which their island broke off from could be this interesting. The scouts take of bugmorphs and bird people , slimes and monsters , things that were never on the Isle of Mystery . Now after a while of stay , she finally got clearance from her father to explore but under guard which she didn't mind . The first place that she found to be her destination would be a human city called Urbem Viventium but the sight they arrived to was far different then what the scout told them . She and 2 of her guards were flying over the city disguised as ravens , watching a monster being brought down by a couple of heroes . Veya especially took note of the many different races but didn't want to interact just yet so all 3 landed on a building as smoke overtook their raven forms and turned them back into their Skurgion forms as they stared down at the bunch below them , quietly observing .

A grandeur display of skill and purpose presented itself when many banded together to put the beast to rest. The pair of fighters fought to go near, and actually decided to throw the creature unto the fumes. How absolutely unimaginable. No Tortle could even dream of seeing such a display of strength in real life. The driders made way to secure the creature, to ensure the flames and the fumes kill it off entirely in conjunction, to which Flotsam was glad he had both unknown friends, and very known allies. The remarkable, easily unforgettable bird person of earlier made way to silence the beast, shutting it from oration and shouts. Perhaps a smart move from the avian ally, there was no need for it now to spew balls of flame from the unearthly embers that it glowed with now that it was condemned to a fiery grave.

It was not a surprise to find onlookers of all kinds watching from a great distance, wanting to see the event that could have ended up in a slaughter-fest. Not all buildings were spared, and it wasn't a safe say that no civilian was harmed. Flotsam decided to move back up from the crowd, as he did not want the attention he inevitable garnered. He approached nearer towards Ruby, and heard of them now preparing to leave, as the place was ill suit for trade given what transpired.

Among all that had happened, it dawned quickly on Flotsam, then a pang of slight gloom came upon the Tortle as he realized Ruby would be leaving. It was not her duty at all to direct him in these alien lands, some of which the kind he didn't even know existed, but it was the guidance of somebody from these lands that he wanted. He couldn't explore the archipelago's of the old lands himself, make any good contact with at least the fauna (the flora aspect he was excellent at), and society much larger than tribe gatherings were unthinkable. Conflicts of independence and selfishness made another instance of indecisiveness within the Tortle, lost in his own thoughts of choices to make.

He decided that, until Ruby would vocalize it herself that they will part ways, Flotsam would stay by her side for guidance. Hopefully she will be fine with the arrangement. Hopefully Ruby will take a long time to eventually come up with that. For now, Flotsam returned to face her as she says of his progress in generating renown throughout the land. The Tortle Champion. Simple, uninspired title. Flotsam liked it.

"You're driders were quite skilled at handling things." The Tortle returned, wanting to complement them in return. "I wonder what could have led a beast here in this large city." Flotsam wondered aloud. He looked towards the other allies, now off to their own thing, the fighters disbanding to their own groups once more. Allies on the battlefield, but now as strangers once more. The man, woman, avian, the girl and her mouse, and more that helped with the battle that Flotsam might have missed to notice. How easy was it to make such allies at quick of a time. Combat. He could say a lot about the event, and Flotsam wouldn't mind to find foes he can valiantly fight more if it meant he and many others from such beasts. As Flotsam mentions that in his mind, he looks towards the scorching beast, quite possibly still alive. The Tortle did not know.

She looked at Floatsam and smiled " they are good at what they do , drider webs are almost as strong as steel yet only they seem to break it easlity like it is a normal web.....still very strange " she said as she looked around , seeing a figure on the wall. Turning her head more , she sees 3 beings on the roof of a building not to far . She slowly shook her head as she looked at floatsam " So where will you go after this .....i assume you will be staying here for a while before heading off on your own " she said , resting against her spear and awaiting the response from the tortle . " If not , you could always join us on our trip back to Nec-redarr my home " she offered still leaning on her spear , honestly it would be fun to help the tortle in his quest but fact remains the same , she is a princess and has duties , like it or not .

Near the market , the driders found the merchant sitting by his stall , when they approached him and said that they are heading back because of trade failure , he stopped them and said that it was just a damaged gate and a few damaged building , an announcer had come to the market and said trade resumes as normal . The driders looked confused for a moment before one went back to where Ruby was. The drider told Ruby what had happened and she , just like the driders at first was confused at the news " well then i guess we are staying here a bit longer then " she said with a smile while looking at Floatsam.

Veya watched as everyone winded down from the affair , it was odd to her . The Mainland is far different then books describe it to be . She turned her head to look at the rest of the city and it was quite a city , turning her head to the wall she noticed a figure on one part of the wall , just motionlessly standing there . Her guards followed her view and also saw the figure " You think he is responsible for this monster's invasion ? " one asks before looking at Veya "yeah he is standing near the area that the monster broke through " another said as he looked at her . She shook her head at their theories " No boys .....that thing is a behemoth , they have no masters and take orders from non but their own brain , chances of that being a bystander is good enough but...something does seem odd about him " She said as she kept her eyes on the being before turning away . She addressed one of her guards " assume a small flying shape , small enough for that being not to notice but fast enough not to lose him " she said as they walked on and and jumped off of the building , the guard doing as he was told , turning into a fly as he flew off to where the figure was standing .

The Veya and her remaining guard went into the tavern , regardless if they were going to be served or not , they wanted a rest . Sitting down at the first table they could as they waited for a waiter to hopefully come and serve them .

With the fight seemingly coming to an end Ruvo was glad to see that the behemoth didn’t seem to be moving much now that it was binded in webs though he decided to keep up his musical magic just a bit longer just in case. Additionally to the avian bard’s surprise it also seemed that Ruby had acknowledged his contribution in silencing the beast. Not every day royalty appreciatively acknowledges your actions.

“Are you alright?” He asked turning his attention back to Willow and stopping the magic he was channeling into his instrument so he could offer her a hand to get back up on her feet. “Horus and a handful of the other patrons from the tavern worked together to take down the monster, it was really impressive” he quickly explained all the while feeling as though he was being watched though Ruvo figured it may have had just been his imagination or perhaps Amaterasu and Seraph’s watchful gazes.

Willow offered a small smile and accepted his help. Staggering to her feet, she tentatively let go of Ruvo's hand for a balance check and found she was able to stand.
"Yes, I'm alright thank you. Just tired I suppose." The elf assured her...friend? What exactly was the bard to her? She had only met him what felt like moments ago, but he seemed so compassionate towards her to be considered a stranger. What was that word others used that was between "stranger" and "friend"? Willow couldnt remember. She wanted to ask the musician what they were, but she didnt want to look like a fool, especially if he already knew. As he recalled the events that had transpired when she was passed out, she couldnt help but feel a bit downcast.
"You're telling me I missed everything?! Jeez, next time remind me to lay off the drinks." She pouted, making it a point to stick out her bottom lip. She walked over from their hiding place to check the damage of the town. What lay before her scared her. The giant beast was bound, and it seemed limp. Half of the buildings continued to crumble from the damage, and their remains lay scattered on the ground. She had just gotten to this city and already the change was so significant that an outsider like her could pinpoint most of the wreckage. It was a shame really. The city had seemed so pleasant... The recent events both scared and excited Willow. She wished she wouldve run away sooner.
