They’ve got to find that killer instinct and how to close out games on the regular but… In the meantime love the fact CBJ killed the Rangers 5-1 before I had to leave for one of my leagues tonight.

We lost yet a third in a row falling to the Panthers tonight. Pathetic.

That’s rough. Didn’t see too many today after waking up NHL wise so forgot that was also on the board tonight. Kraken/Blackhawks and Blue Jackets/Rangers were two I recalled and saw til the reminder of Panthers/Isles. Tough loss though. This season has started off pretty odd and slow for a number of teams.

I don’t know what’s going on with the Isles. But Oilers (glad to see it personally have gotten off to a slow start. Maybe missing the two old guys Smith & Keith? Idk.) AV’s still on the Cup hangover I guess. (No complaints here) Bolts starting slow (No complaints here either haha) But Preds, CBJ, Minnesota (Worse then I thought so far.) Vancouver. Just to name a few. Kings haven’t looked too great either. Ottawa seems like it’s all the new faces figuring it out maybe has been the slow start reasoning.

Meanwhile Blackhawks look better then expected. Habs are surprising people so far though I figured they’d be fairly decent this year but still nice to see this start. Kraken not great, but hanging around with some pretty decent to good games among the losses endured so far. Philly too.

But yeah, tough loss for the Isles especially with a streak currently going.

Managed to watch more then half the Wild game last night between home before league and the other period and 2/5 from my phone at the alley…. Wild WON!!!! We actually looked much better compared to previous play. The message from Evason to the team at practice and a lot of new lines at forward and blue line both, it seemed to work nicely! Defense and forechecking was better. Fleury looked better and more comfortable with the play in front of him, not to mention he seems to like playing in Montreal and the Wild overall have played almost dominant hockey against the Habs in the last 13 meetings with a 12-1 record. Well, now 13-1 with last nights 3-1 win. Tough loss for the Habs. But a much need win and performance for my Wild.

The new pairings across all lines looked fairly good last night and worked. The blue line has big pairing changes. Forwards kinda different not as drastic but pretty different from the usual and known lines from top to bottom. Part for the forwards could be Greenway being out with injury. Least I didn’t see his name once last night or when they showed the new lines. Long ramble to say I’m pretty damn happy with that win cause it was quite miserable before last night lol. Both goalies were averaging 5+ goals a game coming into it, yikes. Also, I think that must be my first Wild broadcast game I’ve watched…. Liked the crew for sure great cast imo, least for a first time viewing Bally’s sports north/Wild broadcast crew. Although I do recall seeing Audra Martin in a Twins/Brewers live game played on YT through Bally’s this season.

Good luck to the Isles tonight! Hopefully we see a Rangers loss.

Minor news on the BAP front- I made a tough call and decided to delete my BAPS and start over with trying a few things differently. The frustrations with gameplay and a few other details were getting ridiculous and wasn’t enjoying the game. (Nothing NJD related although outdated roster details sucks.)

That’s valid. Such a shame tho, EA sucks.

That’s pretty huge and great for the Wild and Fleury. He needed a win under his belt.

Thanks! Tuning in now! Love a good rivalry game! Hope the Rags lose and the Isles come out on top. Both teams on a 3 game losing streak.

Agreed. EA could…. Never mind that’s a well traveled road lol. We already know what they could do and even with 23 and some patches/updates. But we already know how that goes too.

Definitely!

Nice! I’m going to turn into the Blues/Oilers game for a bit atleast. Might checkout the Isles game as well at some point during play. Yeah always a nice game with rivalries! Would love to see the Rangers lose too.

Hell yea.

I won’t be watching the Oilers v Blues for obvious reasons but pumped for this Isles v Rags rivalry game. We better win.

I saw the Isles with a nice shutout win over the Rangers. Nice!

Unfortunately Ducks & Blues lost to the Bolts and Oilers, but they were close for a good while in each game. Not a great spin but slightly positive for each team.

So, unless you (people in general with BAP) want to risk great frustration like I did starting out… Power forward seems to be the best balance of strength and puck control along with decent enough attributes all around starting out to avoid the easy puck losses that happen almost 75% of the time with the Enforcer, it seemed like some or quite a few were bogus as hell imo but, whatever, moving on… I briefly tried out a 2-way forward (Sean Monahan build) and it wasn’t bad at all. But I I’m feeling like so far, strength is kinda key early on with the physicality increase in 23 gameplay. But idk still early enough it could just be the figuring things out stage talking. Stamina goes pretty quick though imo for sure. Going by G20’s sniper build or could have been DanQ’s or both, either way they didn’t seem to have as much trouble with some of the issues. So sniper is probably fine for the most part too. But attributes seem to play a even bigger role this year which is why it felt incredibly frustrating trying to grind through as a enforcer/forward besides some of the gameplay aspects. Least that’s how I am feeling so far with it. Haven’t had the time to truly go further in depth with more gameplay like G20 & DanQ and others would.

Also found it nice that making this new build and starting over it verified that slipping a bit in the draft or a lot, can be easier and more realistic on both sides (Europe & Memorial) since sometimes seems like one can be easier then the other with amount of games that could possibly be played as Europe can end sooner then Memorial if you lose too many starting out. Anyways making this German power forward (Barkov/Tkachuk bros type build) using another family origin I know of for this one too. Wolfsburg got to the semifinals and lost in a sim. Only played about a game in a half with the first game resulting in a early ejection for fighting. (Clean hit near the boards and opposing team got feisty) ended up with 7 points in five games with 4 G’s & 3 A’s for the ranking of 6th. Just kept it with pro setting and limited my attempts when playing only 2 & 1 of those were mine.

Arizona still gets the top pick besides their third overall pick with authentic but rosters appear slightly better accuracy wise on the team I was drafted by atleast. Not perfect, but slightly more accurate with some names. Since it’s BAP haven’t been able to check other rosters yet, debut still coming.

Interviews were with Arizona at 3, Seattle at 4 & Chicago at 7. Ended up with close scores with all teams so no tampering on my part.

But anyways, just thought I’d share this venture as I try anew with BAP in 23.

Big win for the Isles tonight, we played great. 3-0 Sorokin shut out.

I’m heading to bed so I’ll respond tomorrow.

So far so good with these changes by Evason. The team has responded and the new lines with that shake up is working so far. Plus we seem to be finding our team identity as well.

Really nice win over Ottawa on the road against a team that’s been playing strong with a home streak. Now time for the Red Wings tomorrow! All three wins have come in our last four so pretty happy right now with this turnaround so far.

Also nice getting to watch back to back Wild games for the first time in a long while.

I love that this thread is a thing! I'll less enthused that I can't watch and cheer for my team, because if I do (and I'm not live there) they lose. xD Great sport. Great fans. But I really want the Leafs to win one year, so I'm pulling out all the stops. Hahaha

It’s looking more and more like CBJ needs a change behind the bench. I haven’t seen every game for them but, when I do watch it’s almost like nothing is brings out a response from the coach. No seeming care at all. Could be wrong and I could almost appreciate the “Let them play” approach…. But this team is way underperforming for a roster that’s got plenty of talent and money spent to work with and young talent that can produce alongside the Vets. Maybe some injury issues here and there. But overall, yikes, absolutely terrible play from CBJ through the first 11 games or whatever it’s been so far. I’d think somewhere along the way the coach might show a bit more fire atleast? Idk, I’m lost here. Just spurts of good to great play and nice production from young guys stepping up. But overall it’s miserable. Kinda seems like maybe a new coach might help or something. Guess maybe I could be missing something, but definitely doesn’t seem like this coach is the right guy for the job so far imo. *Looks at Philly* “Can we trade coaches?”

Nice to see Seattle putting it together early this season. But, tough shutout loss for the Wild. Plenty of energy and key guys out last night, but still a pretty bad loss.

Looks like Ruff & The Devils figured something out lately? Wow. Nice surprise for the young NJD squad. Philly still hanging around. Pens fell off hard lol. Caps up and down still. Bruins I still can’t believe it, early in the season but still hard to believe. Rangers, meh. Preds though, a few guys are having great years to start out but overall the team is massively disappointing me so far. Plus Vegas, damn VGK is winning a lot so far.

Nice to see Karlsson (Sharks) going berserk right now though.

On another note- Minnesota Wild jerseys are pretty much once again all sold out in all sizes for Adidas and most of Fanatics is sold out out as well where I was looking with the code. But saw that Rinne Preds adidas jersey was still there on EBay for a low price and bought it. Then along with it, I got the Preds Reebok hat for like 9 bucks. Both should be here within a week going by the estimated timeline for delivery. (The Preds Subban jersey for 40 or 50 sold fast along time ago. Another popped up but a bit questionable on a few minor details so holding off for now.)

Super swamped with stuff ever since I got back from the tournament. Apologies. I am not ignoring you, just incredibly busy sadly lol.

Just saw the vid from the Kings/Panthers game Saturday night. A punk rat move by Tkachuk on J-Quick. No reason for that BS at all and didn’t think even Tkachuk who can be a dirty player and have his line crossing moments (He was a flame, but he still frustrated even Flames fans with some of the stuff he’d pull and the timing of it all.) I didn’t think he’d cross that one. The irritation of opposing players and aggressive play can be appreciated at times. but this was a b**** move imo and nothing close to acceptable.
