Chapter 2: Of Protagonists and Plot Devices

THE HERMIT
A sly smile slid onto Bernkastel's face as she heard the usual polite voice of Mazakazu--or as she called him for simplicity, Kazu. It was a known habit of the woman to address most people by nicknames if their name a), could be shortened, or b), could be made into a pun. Bern considered it a fun hobby to do so; the hermit adjusted how she held the phone, ignoring the annoying "kcch" sound that filed her ears every five seconds.

She thought of how to word her request, then spoke.
"A pizza slice sounds fine at the moment, but you and I both know that I'm not just calling you for that," she stated, flicking some ear wax off of her finger before continuing. "As you and I both know, the thieving organization Llyria Harp has control over a lot of the population just by making their shop prices cheap and giving anything to anyone." Bernkastel's voice became darker, filled with purpose. "The leader is a disgrace to the city and a coward, so I say we take him down first."

She felt Yozaku wrap his arms around her; a devious grin formed on Bernkastel's face. She had almost forgotten how many lies she had gained just by reaching out and asking for help in her conquest to cause as much chaos as possible. Deciding to put on the persona of the classic romantic heroine--to play with his emotions--she leaned back into him, eyes delicately fluttering closed, as she continued. "Can I count on you to help get the job done and bring Bismarck Saedor to me?"

Anita chuckled, rolling her eyes slightly at Don's talk of conquest. She knew how much he loved her body...she smiled a bit, innocently raising a screwdriver. "Yeah, you're right about that, but BOMBS!" she cheered, moving away (accidentally shoving Don in the process). Then she grabbed his arm and practically dragged him to the workshop, where one of her unfinished designs was collecting dust. She pretty much yanked out a cloth, dusted it off, and got to work, an eager expression on her face. This was her passion.

She soon got to work with making a very complex code for the bomb, and, when finished, tossed it into a mass-manufacturing machine, coded it to make the same bomb, and, as it produced copies of the original, she grabbed one and moved to the testing area, which was behind a glass sheet.

She tossed the bomb into the testing area; once it made contact with the ground, it exploded, revealing many laser lights. Anita pressed a button on a remote; a dubstep remix of My Immortal started playing, the laser lights synchronizing to it.

It was beautiful. Her hair wild, her face covered in soot, Anita turned to grin at Don, giving him the thumbs up.

Masakazu W. Fuma (Location: Tora Syndicate HQ )(Conversing with Bernkastel over the phone.)
Masakazu’s insouciant attitude to Miss Bernkastel was a noteworthy spectacle, his physique dimly glowing its silhouette from the chandelier above was radiating with captivation. From an outside perspective, Mr.Fuma was enraptured by this diabolical woman and not just because of the cunning similarities they both share and the criminal activity that they’ve partaken in but more importantly he respected the ‘Soul thief’. In Masakazu’s mind, she had a timbre that could alight a man’s heart ablaze and melt them into butter and a pristine face untouched by this world’s condemning touch, truly a unique individual that wasn’t influenced by any sort of frailty, a natural-born leader among all else. He couldn’t help procuring a sentiment of tenderness for the matriarch figure of Devicto Mortis, for a sadistic and loathsome creature molded by a mistake and society’s adaptable cruelty, Masakazu felt something around this woman. “Humoring me as always. Yes, I presume there is something bothering you?” A faint chortle left betwixt his lips as he inclined back a bit further in his seat, rocking himself back and forth as he preoccupied himself with the intriguing conversation he was having until she uttered the phrase “Lyria Harp.” At that moment, a sickening scowl embraced his face as he clenched his fist into a tightened ball. How could he forget?

He heard that exact damnable name when a couple of dead-beat employees of his somehow had their shipment stolen underneath their feet! Masakazu was on the verge of losing control and enacting a temper tantrum on the ensnared victim that he wounded earlier, surprisingly though he kept his composure while being attentive to her words. “Bismark, that scrawny little shit. I’m surprised we haven’t done away with him in the first place.” Saedor’s impact on these citizens was shocking, Tora Syndicate had brought dismay into the minds of these peasants yet somehow Lyria Hap brought up their morale by sending a few inexperienced thieves to stumble upon Masakazu’s men and their supplies. There was one thing he hated above all else and that was when people steal from him. Masakazu’s cheeks without notice transitioned into a dark shade of velvet as he heard Miss Berkastel’s voice swiftly transcend into a prepossessing tone, even he was susceptible to that woman’s charm. A first few attempts at him sounding out a few words came off as an imbecile trying to speak but soon he cleared his voice, understanding the favor that has been asked of him. “That depends, do you want him in one piece? Or many?” His toothy grin revealed itself after his question, envisioning the gruesome death of that insufferable Bismark was blissful, he couldn’t wait to get his blood-stained mitts on that annoying brat.

Bernkastel couldn't help but chuckle at Masakazu's demeanor, though the chuckle soon became short-lived once he finished talking. "Now, now, Kazu," the soul stealer reprimanded, teasing Yozaku further by nuzzling against his chest. All these men acting this way towards her made her feel like a very special psychopathic soul stealer' but it also made her feel powerful. Knowing that she had tricked her way up to gaining people's hearts made Bern feel gleeful inside. For at heart, no matter what the acting skills said, she really was a heartless woman.

"I want Saedor brought to me alive," the woman continued, her eyes closing as she took on the tone of a wistful old woman reminiscing on old times. It suited the mood she wanted to create for this conversation. Or at least her end. "Now, remember never to underestimate your opponent. He's a clever man; I wouldn't put it against him to have prepared some precautions. Nonetheless I don't mind if you bring him here with a few broken bones and bleeding out a bit. If anything that would be much appreciated."

Another pause as Bern thought of what to say; upon failing, she floated a few feet up, the final tease. She wondered if Yozaku would develop the bravado to try and grab her again. If so, it would be highly amusing. "....Do you think you can do that for me?"

Yozaku Ishimori
Yozaku inhaled Bern's scent as she leaned into him. He listened to the conversation, and couldn't help but wonder why she didn't have him take care of Bismarck. After all he was still a thief, regardless of what anyone thought. He was a leader of a criminal group, and however pathetic he may be, it didn't change that fact. Yozaku leaned in attempting to grab Bern once more as she floated up a bit. He pulled her down slightly and whispered in the tiniest voice,"Why are you calling him to take out Saedor? You know I could do it nice and clean. So what do you have planned?" He asked his breath hot, and oddly enough minty, genlty blowing on her neck.

Don Hearth
Don let out a Yelp as he was pushed away rather abruptly. Only to be dragged along with Anita, he sighed, following along. A smile seemingly saying," oh well." He sat safely behind the glass, watching Anita work. He was glad she was back in action."You're just up, and already at it with the bombs."
He stopped for a moment as I he were thinking on this. Then sighed," yep that's my girl. Oh by the way I went out and got something while you were out."
Don said as he took out a piece of paper, and watched the bomb go off in a spectacular show of lights. After the coast was clear he stepped out and handed Anita what appeared to be marriage papers, which already had his signature on them." I figured since you were out I might aswell get these. You know for when you woke up. I wanted to make it official before something else happened."

Masakazu W. Fuma (Location: Tora Syndicate HQ )
Discerning that bewitching hint of soft-spoken chastising resonating from this woman’s vocal cords and into the confines of his own unprepared ear felt breathtaking as ever, Masakazu’s vivid fascination of this girl was but of a simplistic crush but at the moment he was falling head over heels and his very skin would’ve been crawling with the sensation of goose-bumps if it wasn’t for it being artificially made. As much as he detested leaving unfinished business to be sorted out of his hands, Bismark had achieved a name for himself and with that a ridiculous amount of people that were graciously willing to lob his head off from the nape. Undoubtedly transporting this person in would lead to their inevitable demise so it wasn’t too concerning, besides Masakazu would get the opportunity to meet the stunning lady in the flesh yet again, that alone would be a satisfying compensation in his eyes. “Don’t you worry, i’ll not harm a pretty little hair atop of his head unless he gets squirrely. But no guarantees when it comes to those that are around him if he doesn’t decide to come peacefully, i’d have to make a prime example out of his employees, acceptable losses i’d say!” Masakazu nonchalantly rattled the tips of his fingers against his knee while twirling himself around in his chair in a back and forth motion to contain his full excitement, at-last he had a reason to go out and cause some havoc! Sure he could’ve just went out on a whim and ordered a firing squad to come and locate good ol’ Bismark, turning him into a living cheese-grater afterwards from all the shrapnel being catapulted through him like a flimsy target stand that was made out of paper. “Underestimate?”

He thought, raising an eyebrow in response to what she had said previously. As much as he understood that statement he knew what the Tora Syndicate was capable of and it was degrading to hear such words, despite being a bit unnerved by her judgment of the organization he was operating, she did have a point. “Again, you shouldn’t fret. I’m making an exception just for you, i’ll handle this little escort of yours by myself. Obviously there’ll be a dozen or so of my men surrounding the building that have enough armaments to supply a small country buuuut i’ll be going in alone and handling the old fashion ‘Masakazu way’! I’m sure these children of mine are due for a confidence boost.” Rare occasions have spoke of the Tora Oyabun revealing his presence out in public except when it was to make a scene but he wasn’t going to let down a favor from such a wonderful friend. “Do I think I can do that for you? For you, it’ll take about an hour or less depending on how much security he has. Anyway, i’d hate to keep you waiting so i’m going to be paying our friend Bismark a visit straightaway. Maybe if you’re lucky i’ll pick up that pizza for you! Take care gorgeous.” And with a simple request came a violent turf war! Masakazu reached underneath his moderately broken desk and flipped it across the room as he stood up causing it to break into fragments of wood and other materials, finally! He was getting real damn tired of sitting at a desk all damned day and acting like some serious person! He could finally cut-loose! Unfortunately this did mean he was going to miss his favorite episode of that generic slapstick cartoon show he was watching. Cracking his knuckles, Masakazu immediately stormed out of his decorative office, but not without head-butting the double doors off the hinges that was connected to his compartment out of sheer excitement. “Let’s tear some shit up already!” His clamorous voice roared out through the corridors of his HQ, alerting his men to get ready.

Bern smiled throughout her associate's entire speech, glad to see that they were on the same page but also that she had convinced him to kidnap Saedor. Of course, she knew it would be easy; from her experiences with good old 'Kazu in the past, he would bend over backwards just to please her. It was the same with Yozaku, who'd accepted her challenge and pulled her down. Fair enough. She would beat him in the battle that was bed if if came to that.

Ah, men. It was so easy to get them to do as you asked, so long as you just kept acting flirtatious and composed at the same time. Bern listened to Kazu's final words on the matter, letting out an airy farewell, then dramatically put the phone down, collapsing into Yozaku's arms. "Why not you?" She repeated, then chuckled. "I figured you most likely could use a break. How about you peruse the swimming pool for a while? I don't mind," Bern stated, looking at her fingernails boredly.

"Personally, I'm going to wait for Saedor's return," she continued, floating out of the police chief's grasp and over to a nearby hammock, gazing out into the busy streets of Hell City. She was silent before she spoke to herself.

"One day, in the near or far future, this will all be mine....this city shall fear my name...Frederika Bernkastel." She paused, then smirked at Yozaku. "Getting the police on my side was the first sign of success. I can thank you for that, Yozaku. You turned my dull fate around."

Zero stretched her wings as she got up from her nap. The building she was sleeping in had very little inhabitants. The occasional homeless person would find this place and think what a great place to live but Zero usually scared them off or killed them since they took up too much room and would draw attention to herself. She stood up and brushed off her clothes and hid her wings and tail. They were very dirty. She sighed and began to walk out of the old building and into the street. People scurried about and she blended in with the crowds walking. She felt a pain and her stomach as it began to growl at her. Zero scoured the street for any place to get food and saw a hot dog stand. She casually walked over there. The guy was with another customer. He was distracted for now. She walked by the cart and grabs three hot dogs as fast as she could. They didn't notice, humans were truly stupid creatures. Zero continued her walk while eating her hot dogs. They were good, a lot better than the rotten food she found in the garbage. They day seemed so peaceful. It was almost too peaceful, something felt off about today. Zero shook off the feeling and continued on her walk hopefully nothing would happen to make her regret ignoring her gut.

Masakazu W. Fuma (Location: Hell City, Tora district)(Currently: "Grocery Shopping.")

Patiently waiting just a few meters outside of Masakazu’s disheveled work-room was his synthetic advisor, still with the same exact cigarette dangling out from her frigid lips but with the tobacco rod midway diminished from her continuous puffing, burning the stick closer to its coffee-colored filter. Kimiko featureless expression remained unchanged, as did her authoritative posture that insinuated to her brazen perspective, only lively change from the animatronic woman’s end was her seemingly dead eyes lighting themselves up with a faint color after seeing Masakazu headbutt two doors off their hinges. “You seem quite energetic today Masakazu.. I’m guessing you’ll be heading out?” She asked, as she witnessed him scampering forward with each stomp of his foot echoing in a loud banging noise. Viewing his mood-swings was quite the theatrical performance but even for someone as nearly lifeless as Kimiko, even she thought his change in attitude was alarming. “Affirmative my pale companion, i’ll be setting onward to the general store but not just any convenient store i may add but one that smells of rat-piss and eventually the unmistakable stench of dead bodies. Please, if you will my dear assistant. Watch my humble abode and if anyone who’s not remotely important tries to contact me, make sure to schedule in an appointment where i’ll be able to stomp their manhood in! Thank you!” There it was again, Kimiko noticed. That crazed look in his dilating pupil and it was a look that his fellow Yakuza members knew all too well, mainly trying to avoid causing such a reaction out of Masakazu as well to prevent the terrifying aftermath of seeing that unnerving alteration in his expression as it usually meant someone was going to be killed. Kimiko reminisced about the last moment where she saw that same carnivorous stare, additionally it was sought out as just as a fabricated rumor around lower members to get them to listen but it was all too true.
Cyborg_Secretary.jpg
Apparently a Yakuza butler somehow managed himself to get burn-marks into Masakazu’s favorite suit, after the discover he blamed it on the dryer settings and it being faulty, some say that he was stuffed into the same exact dryer but it had been emptied and filled with sharpened ‘instruments’. Kimiko shook off the unforgettable memory of seeing the poor butler’s mangled corpse and continued to follow behind the Oyabun while adjusting her hardened wrist a few inches away from her mouth, notifying any available Tora members to get themselves ready for a potential shoot-out. “Certainly” she puffed, dying out the end of her cigarette into the elevator’s ash-tray once they made it to the bottom-level of the Yakuza HQ that was a vehicle storage for all of Masakazu’s crazy contraptions which even held an armored transit bus that could act as an APC. “Roaaaad trip, I call taking the party bus for a spin!” He leaped with glee, retrieving the bus-keys in one of the lock boxes attached to the wall as heaps of Tora enforcers came ushering down the stairwell and into the garage, piling up person by person into vehicles and loading themselves up into the armored bus, all of them loaded to the teeth with military-grade weapons. A soft but nervous gulp was taken by Kimiko as she watched the members going in full-force, this was going to attract a lot of attention and not the good kind, she was sure that there was a war brewing. “Haha! Let’s get a move-on, i’m ready to crack some skulls wide open!” Masakazu yelled out in his ordinary-whackjob tone, cranking up the stereo on the bus as he floored it out of the basement level parking garage.

Yozaku laughed, watched with a delighted smirk as Bern floated to the hammock."Haha, how thoughtful, I may take you up on that offer."
He said walking over to her, his body leaning over her. His eyes closed slightly as if he could drift off into a deep sleep any moment.

He smiled and his face got closer to Bern's as she thanked him."If you really want to thank me you know what you can do."

He pressed his lips against Bern's, beginning to remove his shirt at the same time. His chest while scarred slightly, was truly fitting of his position. It seemed to show every little detail of every event he had been involved in. Taking down criminals, crashing after being attacked by a gang organization, even the scars from his more rough interactions with lovers.

The Rouge

"thank you sir" Rough said, taking the piece of paper with the coordinates of the building "and dont worry, we'll send a clear message to them". Now standing up from his position on the wall, he walked towards his new assassin partner. it seemed like Kakazu was on the phone with what seemed to be the Devicto Mortis. he had woked for them before as well. maybe he should be careful on this mission. after all, The Devicto Mortis had some pretty scary members.

Standing right in front of his partner, he got a better look at her. indeed she was young, and was obviously new to the game of hit men life. He stared her down for a few seconds and walked out of the door of Kakazu's office "Come on kid". he said, walking to the elevator assuming that she would follow. This time he was going to exit the proper way, through the front door. when the elevator opened, he stepped inside and so did the kid. on the way down, he though about something to say to her "listen kid, you seem to be new to the life of an assassin. there are a lot of things you should learn, so how about i show you some things before we start" he then changed his calm tone to a more serious one "after all, we both dont want you messing this up because of some rookie mistake. ill let you think about it"

After he was done talking, the elevator doors opened and they entered into the main hall of the Tora headquarters. He noticed that Kakazu's assistant Kimiko was there. it had been quite some time since he had seen her. back when he was about 20, they actually had a short relationship. after all, they had so much in common. but it didnt work out since he had been hired to sabotage a Tora operation. she found out, but never told Kakazu. thats one of the many downfalls of having alligence to no one."it has been quite some time, Kimiko" he said, walking up to her.

THE HERMIT
Calmness turned to sudden alarm when Yozaku snaked his way over, leaning on top of her. What was he up to? The female looked up at him with a weirded-out expression, but looked twice as weirded-out when he shoved his face in hers....and kissed her. Taking off his shirt.

His.

SHIRT.

With that, Bern began to struggle, feeling uncomfortable with the situation she had somehow found her way in. Was he high on something? More struggling, then finally she slapped him in the face, roughly pushing him off.
"You, sir, have a lot of nerve to simply jump on top of me and assume that I will give you my body without hesitation," she hissed, slapping him again. "What do you take me for, a simple little Annie who will spread out her goddamned legs whenever you wish?" Now a rough kick in the stomach; Bernkastel stood up, maintaining the taken-aback expression on her face.

"In case you've forgotten, I am Frederika Bernkastel. I will take over this city through fear and manipulation. I'm the mastermind, the matriarch of this fine organization known as Devicto Mortis! You hardly even pass the average ranking, nor do you have power over a demon! A demon!" She pointed in the direction of Stewart's room, then, feeling she'd done enough, stepped over to him. "If you really think you are worthy of the body of someone this esteemed, you'd best wisen up, bow to me, and kiss my feet. Delusional little gnat."

Kimiko (Side character/Plot device)(Masakazu's Advisor)(With: Rouge and Specy)
Kimiko wasn’t worried too much about Mr.Fuma going toe-to-toe against Bismark, he can definitely hold his ground that’s for sure but it was the notion of backlash that had her mind seized up with uncertainty. Tora family’s sizable profit continues to grow but for how long? How long will it take for Masakazu to flip things upside down? He was a rabid dog, unpredictable and ready to bite anyone that pets him wrong. Kimiko cupped her forehead, realizing the mistake she had made and promptly scolding herself for it. She was one of the very few that was competent and efficient when it came to calming that psychopath down but even she felt a margin of fear when it came to interacting with him, being a loose-cannon and all. Understandably she couldn’t wallow in guilt forever, she had a job to do and that the consequences have already been set in stone for them, Kimiko prepared herself for what would await ahead as she took a moment to inhale a fresh breathe of air before stepping into the elevator and arriving to the first floor which contained the main-hall with an ornamental jade statue of a dragon that gleamed faintly with the lighting around it. At least she could be left alone, she needed some time to herself after dealing with a psychotic manchild all day. But she reluctantly turned around and scowled once she heard the elevator ding, both doors retracting to reveal none other than Rouge, her ex. Kimiko thought he had already left but apparently he decided it would be best to come out through the front instead of climbing back through the open window.

“Yeah, I guess.” She replied coldly, obviously still holding a tad bit of a grudge against him as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked away from him. Kimiko couldn’t believe that she had fallen for him such a while back and still had any sentiment of admiration for him, despite being a cyborg she was young, foolish and always willing to give someone a chance. She still remembers the day that they met, it was when the Tora syndicate was still growing and she had been recently hired into the organization to file paperwork, more importantly Rouge’s paperwork who she had met after he was first hired by Masakazu. “Shouldn’t you be keeping your wife warm? I can’t believe you showed up here after all this time, you know what kind of feelings we’ve shared. But you couldn’t help yourself, you had to take that stupid contract even though you knew what that would do.” She looked back at him, but this time her expression changed vividly almost as if her emotions had broke through charade of acting like the stereotypical business woman, now more a bit heart-broken. “For your own sake, you should just do this contract he gave you and leave. Both of you are in over your heads, Masakazu is wild and even i’m losing control over him. He’s starting to go off the rails and..!” She stopped, basking painfully in the silence of it all while being deep in thought. Kimiko placed her hand once more over her face as she looked away in shame. “Hell City, it’s going to live up to its name if I can’t control him Shisha, you may think i’m over-reacting but i’ve been here for years! I know what he can do and what will happen if he doesn’t get his way.” Kimiko’s voice bordered itself on sorrow, confusion, and anger. She couldn’t leave the Tora Syndicate, Kimiko didn’t have a choice in the matter. Even if she couldn’t fully control him, perhaps just calming the insane man would moderately tone down the chaos he creates.

Yozaku Ishimori
Yozaku didn't take this beating as graciously as he had previous beatings. He knealed on the ground, slamming his arm hard into the ground, causing the ground to crack under his metalic fist.. His cybernetic eye glowing a reddish organge. As if a fire was burning inside his cybernetics. He then shot up, a solemn, grimm expression covering his usual happy love struck one. He leaned over in closer to Bern, slamming his hand against the wall pinning her." I'm not sure if you're aware, but moments ago you were thanking me for my assistance. Saying how it was me who turned your dull fate around."

Yozaku's voice crackled, now sounding metalic, almost static like. He glared into her eyes, flashing his teeth at her."I don't appreciate being led on! I help you for one reason only," Yozaku brushed a hand through Bern's hair."Because I happen to have feelings for you. But if you're not going to return them, and insist on keeping treating me like some pathetic dog...Well I guess I'll have to take my police force, and use them for more useful endeavors." He said pulling away from Bern, and turning to leave. Her next move would decide whether he continues to assist her, or if he went against her.

There was yet another pause as Bern allowed Yozaku to push her against the wall, shouting at her for shouting at him. Of course. Now that she wasn't giving her body to him again he was angry; the hermit scoffed at his words. If he only knew what he had already done just a month ago...maybe then he would leave her be. She allowed him to step a few feet away, then, with an icy voice, she spoke.

"Oh, now that I refuse to give you my body, you're angry,"she responded calmly. She flew off to retrieve something from her room, then flew in front of Yozaku, dangling a pregnancy test in front of his face.

Positive.

This was her biggest secret.

" You do realize that your award will be coming to you in eight months," she said coolly, staring him down. "You, of all people, get this. And if you don't like it, you can gain the reputation of a deadbeat. See if I care. The child will be molded to continue my work after I'm too old to do so. Yes. This is my weapon. An unwanted weapon, but suitable."

Andromeda stood a good few inches shorter than her “partner”, as young as she was. She smirked and cocked her head to the side, sticking out her tongue at him before quickly skipping along behind him. “...so how about I show you some things before we start?" Specy glanced over at him while in the elevator, the childish grin appearing once again on her face. She loved ‘mentors” because they usually were the ones who can answer her billions of questions about others. The experience, was what she was after. “But of course, good sir! After all...We are partners.”

Once the elevator doors opened, she was in the midst between some sort of one sided argument. So.. very interesting!!! And how horribly fantastic Mr. Rogue. However, as Kimiko continued to speak, her rage was revealed and Andromeda decided to at least help Rogue for once. “Umm...Rogue, we should be going before Mr. Fuma gets mad…” she smiled widely at him. Pointing to the door, she walked off without him, leaving the two behind and waited by the entrance. She didn’t want to get herself tangled in that situation, as much as she liked drama.

Masakazu W. Fuma (Location: Rainy Traveller general store)(Currently: "Grocery Shopping.")

A bone-chilling breeze ushered in through the atmosphere that complimented the mystifying night sky. Not to mention that the nip in the air had a unique but foul taste to it, foreshadowing the unforgiving copper tasting blood that will be soon to paint the city streets with a darkened crimson. Masakazu was about as lively as a disgusting rodent in food packaging plant, he felt as if he’d gained another year to his age and this was his birthday present, except these gifts were in the form of human-beings and he couldn’t wait to tear each one of them open, savoring their screams like gift-cards. Some of the members that were unlucky enough to be stuck in the same transporting bus with him couldn’t take their eyes off of him as he was shaking uncontrollably as the vehicle continued to accelerate down the freeway, his reflection showed nothing but a distasteful grin that was edging its way inch by inch up his face. He was thrilled! Could you blame him? Decades have passed since he’s made a public appearance, Masakazu wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip past him and he was going to make one good damn entrance too! He was going to reveal to Hell City that there wasn’t anything holding him back now, and those who get the same idea to double-cross him or become an obstacle in his path to glory will be receive the same punishment that these foolish delinquents are about to be handed.

Minutes ticked away as did Masakazu’s patience all until he caught a splendorous view of a fluorescent light beaming its way through the windshield, alas it was the storefront that he was desperately searching for. “Rainy Traveller general store, how cute.” He mumbled through his teeth, gripping the steering wheel tighter as he slowed down. He had to admit that the misleading front of the store was enough to fool anyone but not a man who had connections, one that ran deeper than the sewers of this horrible city. Masakazu steadily turned the steering wheel into the alleyway next to structure as he men readied themselves for combat. “Alright children, listen up! Being the reasonable gentleman that I am, i’m going to go into this fine establishment and request for that little weasel to come out, as Miss Bern wanted him unharmed. However! If he doesn’t comply well you know the drill. Half of our men will be posted on each face of the building except for the front as to not draw attention, only two will be stationed near the entrance. As for the rest of you? Stay comfy while I fetch our prince charming.” Masakazu watched and waited as his men got into position, meanwhile he casually walked into the front of the building as if he were an average customer prowling the city streets, a small ding sound being made after stepping through the front door and approaching the counter. “Ah, hello there.” Masakazu said innocently as he rocked back and forth on his feet, looking around the store for any unusual people or things that should be noted.

THE LETTERMAN
The sound of the door's usual ding was surprisingly dismal to Bismarck today. Like his own funeral bell tolling in the distance. Like crows cawing out the word death until it was ingrained in his mind. Like--

No. Whatever it was, it was surely not something like that. He was just being neurotic, like always. But something was off. He couldn't fathom what, but something told him not to go upstairs. He looked helplessly at Maria; he had no choice. He had to serve his customers, regardless of who they were. But there was some hopelessness in his voice, something that fully expressed his fear as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Maria.....I....I have to go," he mumbled, kissing her for what felt like the last time. Admittedly, he delayed his fate for a few minutes by making the kiss longer, more passionate than usual. He then held onto her shoulders, a sad, helpless little smile forming on his round face, then he walked away, humming the song that he had decided to play at their wedding. Because that would calm him down.

"Just as autumn turns to winter
And the flowers bloom for spring
Just as springtime turns to summer
This life we share keeps changing
But I will love you even all the stars burn away
Just as nightfall turns to daytime
And the sun breaks through a storm
I will be here for forever
And when times are hard,
I'll still want to be yours
When you fall down,
I'll take care of you
When you're lonely,
I'm there for you
I love you
'I love you' won't change
I'll still always hold your hand when it rains...."

He reached the top of the steps. Taking a shot from his inhaler, Bismarck forced a calm smile onto his face, pretending that he hadn't been crying just now. He looked the beast in the eyes, then felt his smile slip; he knew what was coming. Sighing, he took out a copy of Fantastic Beasts, his glance shifting to the group congregated outside. Then, his voice just barely trembling, he spoke.

"M-Mazakazu F-Fuma...." He was probably here because of the stealing incident. Go figure. Bismarck held his book closer, knowing what was going to happen. "Here to take me, if I'm correct...." Just for a moment, he saw the hallucination of blood splattered across his store. Bismarck winced, his pupils small as he stared at the man before him. Soaked in the blood of his enemies. Go figure. And he....still had a gaping stomach wound, blood spilling out...

The illusion ended abruptly. There was no blood. The shop was normal. Bismarck's pupils changed back to their normal size and he clutched his book closer.
"....To take me....." he repeated in a murmur, adjusting his glasses. "If I'm correct."

Yozaku Ishimori
Yozaku wasn't sure what Bern would do to get him to stay. She was tricky, he knew that much. She'd do whatever she could to get what she wanted. But as caniving as she was, he wasn't sure even she would pull something like this."What?" He asked rather angrily, in a tone of disbelief.

He decided to make sure, and did a bio scan on Bern a light coming from his cybernetic eye, and tracing down his body. The results show a influx of a few specific hormones. As well as several other signs of pregnancy. Suddenly a spark went flying from the side of Yozaku's head. He clutched his chest, and fell against the wall.

He couldn't believe something like this happened. Although he wasn't going to lie, some part of him wanted this. He just didn't think it would happen at such a inopportune time. After taking a few heavy breaths he stood up, then walked back over to Bern. He gently grabbed her by the chin, looking into her eyes."My issue isn't with you refusing me. My issue is with how you treat me. A simply no would suffice instead of assualting me, and treating me like some sort of lower lifeform." Yozaku leaned in speaking very clearly so Bern would get the message."I'm not your dog, or some rug for you to walk on. This chil changes nothing. If you don't start treating me with a bit more respect, then I'll have you taken down, and when the child's born I'll take it."He looked down at Bern a look daring her to try him.

THE HERMIT
Bernkastel observed Yozaku's reaction with slight interest as he fell against the wall, obviously shocked that this had happened. She personally showed now trace of surprise; to put it simply, they'd shared a night in return for a hefty amount of information and a surprise had come out of it. A minor detour, but oh well. She would be able to receive her weapon in good time. And then...a whole new generation would rise. Ah, what a plan.

However, right now she needed to keep Yozaku on her side so she could keep the power that came with the police chief being head-over-heels for her. So she had to act again.

"Respect, hmmm....?" Bernkastel mused, thinking about it, then she nodded. "....Fair enough. We keep our bargain, the child arrives safely, and then we'll figure it out from there," the hermit said quietly. "Now, for the love of Poe, put on your shirt."

The Rouge

All Shisha could do was listen to Kimiko. He would be lying if he denied having feelings for her, even if it was still years ago. However, he had a commitment to his wife, a commitment that he would have to uphold. so as torturous as it was to not at, all he could do was feel. but he became suddenly a bit on edge after she said that Kazu was getting harder to control. he could feel the distress in her voice, it was like she was almost afraid. He couldnt blame her. anyone working so closely to a psycho like that would wear down. but he became really nervous when she mentioned him having hell city live up to its name. he then lowered his head and closed his eyes "Dont worry Kimiko, i wont let him. i may be a killer, but im not heartless. you of all people should know that". it was true. even though he did not have allegiance to anyone, he was not for the city being a complete lawless slum. he had lived through that himself, and wished it upon no one. After hearing his partner leave them and waiting by the exit, he followed her, leaving Kimiko standing in sorrow. but before he wash halfway there he turned back to her "If he ever hurts you, call me" he said this with a very serious, yet comforting tone. he wanted her to know that he still cared for her, even though they were no longer lovers.

When he got to the door, he saw Andromeda lying down, legs crossed on one of the leather couches by the entrance. "kids these days are so immature" he thought to himself. when he was her age, he had already killed 200 men. he trained all day, pushing his body to the limit. oh how he would love his old body back again. Refocusing back on the task at hand, he pushed open the door "Come on kid, we have a lot of stuff to do" he said, exiting. again, he would presume that she would be able to keep up. he began jumping from rooftop to rooftop in the city, until he noticed that she was falling behind. after all, his cybernetics made him stronger and faster. he then paused on a rooftop and waited for her to catch up. while he was waiting, he began to think. All these years killing people and he had taught no one the skills that his master taught him. maybe it was time to take on a student. after she caught up, he approached her.he wanted to do something first before teaching her skills. "Hey kid. i know i was suppost to show you some things first. since i presume this is your first assassination contract, i would like to take you someplace special"

Yozaku smiled, and nodded," agreed, and fine." He said grumbling as he put his shirt back on. He yawned and laid out on the hammock. He seemed way calmer than previous."I'm taking a quick snooze, if you need me to do anything just let me know. I'll be sure to do what I can when I can."Eyelids, and body heavy, Yozaku removed his cybernetic arm, and gun. Laying them beside him, and snoozing away. As if he hadn't a care in the world.

Samson Hearth
Samson sat in his chair, and yawned, bag under his eyes. He seemed to have been reading when he passed out. Oliver twist, a book about the life of a little orphan boy. Something that in a way Samson could relate to. After all he was a orphan in more than one sense. He tossed the book into the fire place I'm the center of his office, and stood up. He watched as the book burned to ash, a dull expression on his face. The dancing flames reflecting in his eyes. He said nothing, but decided it was best to go out on the town, and find some way to entertain himself. His all seeing eyes scanning the vast chaos that was hell city."Hmm, how interesting, it seems little miss future dictator of the world is plotting. Bern's plans have taken what I'm certain are unplanned turns. Ahh it seems like things are getting pretty chaotic today. I should go say hello." Samson rose his hand, and in a flash be was engulfed in blue flames. He was suddenly teleported to the location of a certain reaper, by the name of Lily.

THE SCIENTIST AND THE EXPLORER
Sierra's brown eyes opened again to the sight of Alisa's beautiful orbs; grinning, she sleepily kissed her on the cheek as she mumbled a light "g'mornin'", rolling over to hug her as a soft green light filled the room. Kathy appeared, fast asleep, wearing the usual pink nightgown and breathing quietly. After a minute she realized she was no longer in the scythe and woke up. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes—only to freeze at Alisa's words. She wanted to say something, but since she was tired the only things it that came out was a groan.

Sierra, meanwhile, playfully kept hugging Alisa as she stood up, and, when she wasn't looking, pounced on her, smirking. "GOOOOOOD MORNING! HOW WAS YOUR SLEEP?"

"About as fine as an orc's butthole."

"Oh." Sierra drooped, casually squishing her chest against Alisa's head. "I thought you slept as fine as Yozakuuuuu~...." To that, she got hit with a pillow. Sierra rolled her eyes, smirking and knowing she'd angered the grump, blocking her face. "Hey, stop that! My skin's sensitive!" she teased. At that, Kathy laughed, jumping onto Sierra and trapping her right on top of Alisa by sitting on her.

"YOU CAN KISS MY ASS, SAEDOR—NONONO, NOT LITERALLY!" Kathy leapt off of Sierra, not looking amused. Sierra was laughing her head off.

Alisa Ann; Bearer of Life

Alisa smiled from the kiss to the cheek and stretched a little. She squeaked as she was pounced on, laughing a little at two talking to each other. "I slept great." She chimed in, shrugging as Sierra squished her chest against her head. She couldn't help but giggle at the little argument between the two, though she did yelp in shock when she was trapped under the two girls. She burst out laughing with Sierra when Kathy had mentioned kissing her ass, knowing full well that Sierra would be the one to take it too far and actually do it. "Okay you guys, what do you want for breakfast?" She asked, giggling a little bit still."Oh, and uh, as much as I like you on top of me can you move please?" She added grinning and poking her girlfriend in the side.

Maria Saedor and Elizabeth Jones
Maria sighed heavily when the doorbell for the shop rang. Remind her again why there even was one? That annoyed her greatly that people could just show up at any moment...it had actually ruined a lot of moments, this being one of them. She could tell that something was up by how Bismarck's demeanor instantly shifted at the sound of it. There was something she wasn't being told, something very important. Bismarck might of just been thinking himself to be neurotic or whatever the hell he usually blamed it on, but today it was something much more. Even she was having a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach, something very wrong was about to happen.

The second he spoke, she knew she was right. He was hiding something, something that scared him more than usual. Even as she was very passionately kissed she didn't really focus on it, no her mind was elsewhere. Something about this seemed all too familiar to the neko. When he pulled away she blinked, "No, I'm coming too." She told him, unsure if he even heard her. She quickly grabbed up her two children, wet or not, and rushed to their room to put them in the playpen. "Stay right here okay? Everything will be fine." She assured them.

She grabbed up her katana and satchel with her handgun in it immediately going to her sisters room to practically scare the shit out of her as she burst in and shoved her off the bed. "Up, now. Get your things and come upstairs." She told her. Elizabeth could tell it was actually urgent, so without protest she got up and started grabbing what she needed. Meanwhile, Maria made it upstairs to see the rather large crowd and to hear the second time that he mentioned them coming to take him. That just wouldn't do, no, not by a long shot.

Maria's eyes narrowed into slits and she growled as she drew her katana, "You aren't taking my husband. Not now, not ever." She hissed. "As long as me and my sister can still move, none of you will lay a hand on him." She said, gripping her katana in a defensive position, ready to strike at a moments notice. Elizabeth soon arrived, eerily calm for the situation, almost deathly so. This was just how she was, despite her feeling the same as Maria, she often used this state as a scare tactic. She calmly drew her blade, slowly, letting the sound of metal on metal sheen through the air for a few moments before she finally drew it and held it, ready to defend her family.

If Bismarck was going to get taken, they'd have to take them all down. That's how it always was and always would be.

Andromeda walked out of the building alongside him, till she was slightly pushed back from the air pressure of Rogue’s jump. He was rooftop climbing, which happened to be one of her favourite pastimes when Neil isn’t around. Challenge accepted, “Mr All That”. Meda used a nearby alleyway wall to help her get to the roof and started sprinting along with Rogue. At first she was ok, but of course he had technology on his side, which led him to being a good ways ahead of her. She paused, bending down to slightly catch her breath, but also grabbed the hilt of her sickle hung on her back. Welp this can’t be cheating…

Within seconds, Andromeda Was shot flying through the air like a projectile and towards Rogue. She came up with if she could harness some of her sword’s power to attack, then maybe it could help as a boost. A few mega jumps later, she arrived next to Rogue, landing with a barrel roll. She managed to be sitting flat on her bum, a hand resting on her chin and very childish grin on her smile. Almost creepy and she batted her eyes. “Sooo where to then?
