Dylan Vega

Mood: Wide Awake| Location: Hebe Table | With: Himself

zDYlxAaYwnk0wtXaw637vyw5BynRegzC7O2p64f8aj_Rs57-xieIeSTD7qgRLVRbQSDShn3-HPNdMZsqREHyiCwH8GHPXAU8-qldf47bY1-7eDLbIxbJz5hUX-LATQNa0lYzhoU

Dylan, as was his usual habit, had woken at the crack of dawn. It was a remnant of when he'd been a child - and actual child, not his normal semblance of youth - when he'd had to wake up at the crack of dawn to assist his family on the ranch. Then, he'd had to wake up just as early when his father moved to the United States because his father had to be at the university very early, and Dylan had to be dropped off just as early.

All of this was perfectly fine with Dylan. He enjoyed being up early. There was something oddly relaxing about being one of the only people up, and the quality of people up so early was typically much nicer than those late to rise. They were the ones that liked to work out in the morning, or the ones that wanted to sit quietly before the day became loud and hot and chaotic. They were the ones that were less likely to cause trouble, but more likely to help him deal with the trouble if it did arise.

He liked being up early.

He took his early morning walk, checking on all the usual suspects before finally heading over to the pavilion to take his place at his unfortunately quite sparce table. His mother was not known for having many children, so he didn't find himself with the plethora of siblings that those at the Hermes table for example had. But he took this bit of misfortune, and turned it into a desire to get along with pretty much everyone at camp. Sure, he might not be as closely related as some, but they were all basically family.

He ate quietly, smiling at those campers he knew who walked past - which was most of them - and continued to eat silently as he listened to Chiron state that they were goning to be playing capture the flag. While the event wasn't as fun for him as it was for some of the more powerful campers, he was still excited. He wondered what team he was going to be put on.

Asha Kapoor

Mood: Joyful | Location: Next to the Zeus Table | Near: Zeno @G4hardcore , Agatha @too much idea & Derek @Yuuki Kuran

After dropping her new friend off at his cabin the night before, Asha had walked back to her cabin, and had happily found that the series of pranks she'd set up for the newbies had worked out swimmingly. She simply walked past the now soaking wet and cold campers, winking. "Welcome to Hermes house."

As she plopped into bed, she couldn't help but contemplate the day - as unusual as that was for her - and finally decided that she would have to take action on this new prophecy thing that Chiron had mentioned. She wasn't one to not take action, especially if it had to do with the outcome of her life.

She was actually frowning when she heard a splash and a scream as a latecomer to the cabin found one of the few water balloons and the frown quickly changed to a satisfied grin. With the Cheshire-like grin on her face, Asha fell asleep.

----------

The next morning, Asha woke up late. Typically, she would enjoy getting up early and setting up traps and pranks for those around the camp, but during the night she had found herself plagued by strange dreams that she couldn't quite remember. It had left an odd taste in her mouth, and had left a number of Hermes cabin members feeling uncharacteristically safe as they prepared for their day.

Asha threw her hair into a haphazard yet somehow good looking ponytail, threw on a simple, comfortable outfit and slouch-walked her way to the Pavilion. She was greeted by the smell of her favorite breakfast and quickly took her place at the Hermes table - the other kids knew not to sit in her spot.

Glancing around at all of the new faces, she happened to catch sight of Dylan, sitting a few tables away. She shot him a guilty look, hoping that he might possibly suspect she had set up some kind of elaborate prank (which she hadn't) just to make sure he had the proper amount of anxiety built up for the day. She knew that he secretly wished he could look his age, and scientific studies showed that anxiety prematurely aged people, so in theory, she was actually helping him reach his dreams!

Then she caught sight of Zeno - over at the Zeus table - and quickly stood up and walked over, abandoning her tray to be dealt with at a later date.

"Zeno. How are you this morning? Derek, Agatha, good to see you." The mischievous daughter of Hermes grinned at the people sitting at the table.

Caspian "Cas" Phillips

And once again Cas was lost. Well, at least he wasn't lost physically this time. But he was pretty darn sick of being lost and confused.

In fact, his confusion had almost developed into aggravation and he had almost swore.

Almost.

A gentleman doesn't swear.

He had found his cabin the night before after a kindly woman identifying herself as his sister led him to a cabin and told him it was where he was going to be staying. While had still had plenty of questions, especially the whole "demi-god" and "sisters" things, he had found himself exhausted by the day and had almost instantly fallen deeply asleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning he woke to a still cabin. The sun had yet to fully come up. Cas attributed this to the fact that he never slept very well in unfamiliar places at the beginning, and if this place was one thing, it was definitely unfamiliar.
The two girls were apparently still asleep, and, not wanting to wake them, he'd left. As he'd walked around in the early morning light, he'd suddenly smelled the delicious scent of breakfast. His stomach had growled impatiently, like a dog that had been deprived of food for too long, and he'd followed the scent.
He had found himself in a pavilion. It being quite early, he'd been surprised to find that he wasn't the only one there. Instead, there appeared to be an assortment of people... and other creatures. One such creature recognized him for the bonfire, had recognized his godly parent, and had most definitely recognized the look of pure confusion in his eyes. This creature, a satyr, had been nice enough to lead him to the Poseidon table, which was where Cas now found himself quietly eating breakfast, looking around with a continuous look of wonder, in constant waiting to see what would come next.
Chiron
Mood: Optimistic / Location: Dining Pavilion / With: Near Zeus table, everyone in the Pavilion
@The Architect, @GiannaCoco, @LifeNovel, @Azalea, @Arkytior, @9forgotten, @Yuuki Kuran, @too much idea, @Songbird500,@general ostruppen
As Chiron glanced between Agatha and Derek, both requesting to be the team captain for the game later, Chiron smiled. If he had to choose between the two, it would put him in a difficult position. Derek was much more experienced, having been at camp for years, however Agatha was the more level-headed of the two offspring of Zeus despite her relative inexperience. "Yes, I suppose the blood in your veins pushes you to lead, I'm not surprised at that fact. Zeus is King of Olympus after all, however, the camp's captain for Capture the Flag has already been selected this year. I'm sorry Agatha, Derek."
Chiron cast his gaze over to the Hades table; no one seemed to be seated there for now, which wasn't much of a surprise. The god of the Underworld had the least amount of kids out of the Big Three. The boy who was to be captain was having a late start? Chiron didn't mention who the captain would be, and decided not to until the game was about to begin. "Your Captain isn't here yet, but I'll name him before the game starts. Perhaps the captain might have you help him lead the subdivisions of campers today as commanders. Now then--ah! Well that didn't take long at all!"
Chiron turned his attention toward the Forest directly west of the Dining Pavilion. In the light of the morning sun, one glint became five, then over a dozen. A large group of people came out of the wooded area, all wearing silvery jackets and brandishing bows and quivers. As they came closer, the fact that they were all females became obvious. Most wore their hair tied back, some let their hair flow, while others still wore various braids. The girls walked with a certain confidence that even Zeus would admire; every step exuded competence to the highest degree. With trained eyes, the girls eyed the campers with a hint of disdain and a healthy splash of superiority. They were obviously being led by an older woman, who walked ahead of her pack.
Her very skin seemed to glow with vibrant life, as did her compatriots to a significantly lesser degree.
Artemis.JPG
"Chiron, old friend!" The goddess spoke with a subtle smile.
"Artemis, you are looking as radiant as ever, my lady" Chiron bowed toward the goddess in a show of reverence. "Greetings! If your Hunters are hungry, there is more than enough food to go around."
"Ah, kind as always, but my Hunters have already eaten, and are quite ready to go. Your campers numbers, on the other hand, seem to be dwindling. Perhaps a lack of faith?" The goddess's subtle smile stretched into a bit of a wider grin. After a pause, "I jest, of course. Though we are ready to begin whenever your campers are."
Chiron smiled amiably. If her jocular prodding had any effect, he was either oblivious or immune. "If you could be so kind as to allow my campers to finish their meals, we can all meet at the edge of the forest. I have high hopes this year," Said Chiron.
"You said that last year as well."
"I meant it then too,"
Chiron replied good naturedly.
If Dionysus had noticed his half sister's approach, he didn't seem to acknowledge it. He knew Artemis would be coming, and he knew the Hunters would win again that year. Once they claimed victory, they'd leave and things would go back to normal again, even with the revelation that a hefty chunk of campers were going to burn in hell. Still dining on his eggs and finishing up a second helping of bacon, he was faintly aware of his daughter speaking to him. Was she saying something about her name? He was a bit taken aback by Zanna having taken a seat at a table that didn't belong to her godly parent. Before he could say anything, "Lt's chat. Honestly, if you care anything about the gods, this family, this camp, my mother or me, you'll help me out. I need to know whatever you can tell me about Persephone's garden. Will I be able to use it? Or am I just going to have to use this dagger the whole time?"
"Quite a few assumptions you're making there, considering I could care less about more than one of those options." He proceeded to take a swig of his glass, then, "Maybe you should carry a better weapon than that. The thyrsus rod--now there's a weapon with style!" The various satyrs and nymphs nodded and vocalized their agreement with his statement. "You want to know about Persephone's Garden? Of course my gift works there, but that's assuming you are alive. According to Chiron's dream, you won't just be visiting the underworld--it'll be the final stop. If you want my advice, try not to die. No need to thank me, but you should."
Almost as an afterthought, he added to Zanna, "Sandra, this isn't your table. I would absolutely hate if I had to have to turn my daughter's new little friend into a dolphin."
Mood: Excited, amazed
Location: Dining Pavilion
With: Everyone, Chiron, Dionysus, Chiron, Artemis, Hunters
"Zeno. How are you this morning? Derek, Agatha, good to see you." Asha greeted them. Agatha grinned and waved at her. She liked even, even if her pranks occasionally pissed her off. In her defense, she is the daughter of Hermes so it's in their nature to prank people. But not anyone have the guts to prank the daughter of Zeus, right? But anyhow, Agatha liked the cheerful and playful side of her.
"Yes, I suppose the blood in your veins pushes you to lead, I'm not surprised at that fact. Zeus is King of Olympus after all," Chiron replied, and for a moment Agatha thought that she's going to be elected. Either her or Derek. She let out a small groan when Chiron finished his sentence. "... However, the camp's captain for Capture the Flag has already been selected this year. I'm sorry Agatha, Derek."
Chiron gazed at one of the tables behind her, which makes her turn to see too. There's the Poseidon table, Hades's, and the rest of the camps. Agatha couldn't tell for sure which one, or who, Chiron is looking for. "Your Captain isn't here yet, but I'll name him before the game starts. Perhaps the captain might have you help him lead the subdivisions of campers today as commanders. Now then--ah! Well that didn't take long at all!"
There is this aura of elegance and power as Artemis led her Huntresses out of the forest into the dining pavilion. Agatha had already met them last year, but she's still amazed by them. Each of them looked self-assured and very confident, prettier than people in television and magazine and each of them are very skilled in combat. All of them looked as young as she is, but Agatha knew that their real age are probably a hundred year older than her... Especially Artemis. Agatha watched as Chiron greeted Artemis, from their conversation it seems like Artemis is pretty sure that the Hunters will win again this year. Agatha won't let than happen, she will help leading the team to victory this year.
Camper: Derek Newman, the Prince of the Skies
Mood: Excitement then disappointment and annoyance
Location: Zeus' table in Dining Pavilion
With: His siblings, (
@too much idea & @G4hardcore) Asha, (@GinjaGen) Chiron, and Lady Artemis with the girls that shut him down on multiple occasions (@G4hardcore)
Derek greeted Asha with a smile. "Good morning, beautiful." He winked at her, just as he does with every single girl, minus his sisters. "I hope you had a lot of rest last night. I personally didn't, but I suppose I'll just have to adjust." Derek chuckled at how stupid he was being toward his friend. Slipping his arm off of Aggie's shoulders, Derek huffed in disappointment. "Hades cabin leading Capture the Flag? They're already leading the quest, man." He couldn't help but groan as Artemis and her Huntresses joined them. Each one of them, minus the goddess, turned down his advances, and each of them were going to understand what happens when you mess with Derek Newman. "Come on, Chiron, give me a chance, pal. I thought we were buddies." Derek grunted, giving up. "Ya know, if this was a quest to Olympus, I'd be runnin' things. Instead, we're at the mercy of our severely emotional and hateful campers." He understood them leading the quest. Absolutely! Hades' realm, Hades' rules, but Capture the Flag too? Damn! "And...Aggie, if it weren't for me and Nicanor, you would probably still be hanging by your ankle in that tree." he grinned from ear to ear. "Remember? I rode Nicanor up into the tree and used Keravnos to cut your leg loose." Talking about the gryphon hurt badly. What was keeping him away from camp? Derek was determined to find out. Derek got up and bowed to Artemis. "M'lady, I look forward to this game. May the best fighters win." His words were genuine. If Artemis and her gals weren't top notch, when he led his team to victory, it would mean nothing. "Please don't go easy on us." He worked up some of that old charm again. Spinning around, Derek took his plate to the fire and dumped a still warm pancake and a succulent bacon strip into it, praying to Zeus to help him on this quest and keep Nicanor safe. "I can't let anyone else get hurt, Father. Please keep Hera away from him." Derek waited on the edge of the pavilion for Chiron to call everyone to the forest, scratching Keravnos in the dirt. "And, Aggie, while you will do your best, I can guarantee a win."
Camper: Alana Jameson
Mood: Annoyed because Dionysus doesn't seem to care about anything and is insulting her weapon, excited because she can actually use her power in the Underworld, scared because Dionysus threatened her friend and angry that he wants her to be more like him and doesn't care to remember her name!"
Location: Dionysus table at the Dining Pavilion
With: Zanna (
@Federoff) Dionysus, nymphs and satyrs (@G4hardcore)
"I knew it. You better be careful with your words, Father." She was growing increasingly angry with him, to a point where she just wanted to scream. "You don't care about anything, do you? You're a god, for crying out loud, but you lack this false confidence you put up around camp with your mortal partners! That's why you get them drunk and leave them the next day!" Alana couldn't handle being around this man right now. Perhaps the madness her father was capable of was actually effecting her for once. "You don't want to involve yourself with anything that you're responsible for, do you?" What truly pissed Alana off was how Mr. D so quickly insulted her weapon. "You're absolutely ridiculous! Your weapon is a pinecone on a stick! There's nothing manly about that!" She got to her feet and began to walk away. Plate still in hand, Alana hastily dumped her offering into the fire, then came back to her table. "Tell me why you don't care, Dionysus. Is it because you're stuck babysitting while the other gods," here, she indicated Artemis, "are being productive? Is it because Zeus' other children are able to leave while you stay here? If you don't do something, there won't be an Olympus or a Camp Halfblood for anyone! The world will be destroyed and once you're sent to Tartarus, you won't be coming back through the Doors of Death! The gods will blame you for all of this if they survive!" Alana didn't expect an answer. "Instead of whining about your current situation, you should be proud. You're the first to witness new heroes being trained from the ground up! The next time you're on Olympus, you get to rub that in their parents' faces, you old idiot!" You couldn't even pay attention during the meeting last night. If you wanna talk about embarrassment, you embarrassed me!"She inhaled deeply, then Alana looked to her friend then back to her father. "Leave Zanna alone. You're extremely ungrateful. Maybe next time, you'll stay away from Zeus' partners! And the next time there's danger and many demigods die, I'll be sure to let the gods know that you didn't want to get involved. And, by the way, it's Alana! A-L-A-N-A!" She stormed off, all of her anger over the duration of her life poured out at once as she waited for Chiron to start Capture the Flag. "I'll never be like him." Alana stomped on the ground and out sprouted a tree. She climbed up and disappeared in the branches.
Avalon Quinn
Mood: A bit anxious | Location: Hecate Cabin --> Dining Pavilion | With: just her dog
In the end, Ava decided to head down to where everyone was gathering for breakfast. She'd have to leave anyway at some point since capture the flag was today. Sighing, she pulled her jacket around her shoulders and headed outside. Squinting into the bright daylight, Avalon just stood on the porch of her cabin for a moment before shoving her hands into her pockets and making her way down to the dining pavilion. Luna automatically trailed behind her, trotting happily by her side.
Letting out a yawn, Ava arrived about 5 minutes later, sliding into her empty table. Sighing, she leaned back some, looking up at the sky, feeling a bit bored. A moment later, some nymph brought food over to Ava, setting a dog bowl down next to where Luna sat. Ava gave a small smile and slowly started to ear her food. one hand drummed against the table lightly in a nervous fashion as she sat there easting.
Her attention was distracted as Artemis appeared with her hunters, greeting Chiron. Lowering her hand, Ava's green eyes watched the two interact from where she sat. She couldn't hear everything that was being said between them but it seemed amusing enough. Smiling slightly, she glanced over at Dionysus to see him totally ignoring his sibling and his own kid. Chuckling slightly to herself, she glanced down at her dog. "Well, at least it's lively this early. I hope Capture the Flag will be just as interesting." she remarked.
Luna just barked and jumped up on the bench, sitting next to Avalon and looking at her plate with a wolfish grin. Rolling her eyes, Ava tossed her pet some food as she resumed eating herself. Occasionally she'd look around and just people watch, taking her sweet time with her breakfast. She really didn't wanna get up or anything, somewhat enjoying breakfast.
Alex Grayson
Mood: Amused....just a bit | Location: Hades Cabin > Pavilion | With: Most of the camp
It was another sleepless night for Alex, taunted by memories in his dreams. The scene so many years ago when he saw his brother's head ripped off his body and he was covered in blood. He still quite resented his father for not coming earlier and saving the trio. He looked at the clock on his bedside and let out a sigh, it was breakfast time and the conch horn had blown already. He slipped on his shoes and before exiting he took a glance at the mirror and touched his face. The lack of sleep caused him to have a bit of a black outline around his eyes.
He couldn't do much about that now, could he? Making his way down to the Pavilion he didn't know he was about to walk into a total shitfest. He watched as Dionysus's only daughter Alana literally told him her father off. The expression on Alex's face could only describe as "What the fuck did I walk into" he decided to just skirt around the mad duo and stopped. What did Zeus's brat just say about him and his siblings? A fake smile appeared on Alex's face as he walked up to Derek. "So, you think all Hades kids are inferior, hateful and emotional?" he said in a deep but honey sweet voice.
Things not to do in Alex's presence:
1. Don't insult his father
2. Don't insult his siblings
Though taking his food is kinda taboo too. "I'm sorry that the most of us Hades kids are hateful to you." he said and shrugged. "Though not all of us are privileged little bitches like you." he hummed in a nonchalant voice. "Though hey that's just my opinion." he laughed and made his way to the Hades table and sat down. Food was brought to him and he went to sacrifice some of his food to Hades and some to Zeus as an apology. He didn't mind pissing off Zeus's offspring, but he didn't want to piss off the god himself. He made his way to the table once more and started to eat.
mood:shy as usual
Location: thanatos cabin by her self going to the dinning area and the thanatose table
Annabel had woken up early like the rest but hated the thought of seeing any one today she already knew that even though she's only been here for about two weeks she hadn't made any friends whatsoever so why would today be different for her. It seemed like there was some exciting stuff going on at the dinning pavilion but she wasn't hungry either nor did she feel like sitting alone but what was she to do with her self. 'Why do I even go out there.' She thought to her self as she had finished up a small painting of the ocean then started to undress from her pajamas she wore and then quickly got redressed in some black skinny jeans, a bright pink tank top with a black loose fitting sweater that hung over one of her shoulders and covered half of her hands and some black hightop vans. As usual she grabed a pencil and a small black drawing book that she kept by her bed then started for the door quickly stopping at a mirror to check her sort of turcois blue hair to see if it looked ok then put one a little bit of eye liner and then started out and for the dinning area a shy and distant look about her presence as she walked along with the sinister and dark aura of death that she hadn't figured out how to mask yet. One of the down sides to having death as her daddy in her eyes.
She gladly avoided all of the gossip and conflict and moved to her table where she sat alone hopping no one gave her glares because of her sibister aura. It truly wasn't her fault, it wasn't like she could make it stop or anything and if she could she sure as hell didn't know how to so she didn't bother trying and just opened her book to a detailed picture of a dead tree then started to draw in any details she had missed on it hopping no one came over to tease her
Zeno Ukwtakun
Mood: Positively Charged! / With: Siblings @Yuuki Kuran, @too much idea, Asha @GinjaGen, near Chiron and Artemis / Location: Zeus table
"Zeno. How are you this morning? Derek, Agatha, good to see you." The mischievous daughter of Hermes grinned.
Zeno greeted his new friend with a warm smile, and an acknowledging nod. "I am well, thank you. I slept soundly for the first time in a while." Internally, he wondered how strong the barrier was around the camp. Surely nothing was truly impenetrable? Zeno listened to the exchange between his siblings and Chiron. It sounded like Derek was very disappointed. Zeno was just glad that he wasn't chosen to be the leader, unlikely though it was. He was a lone wolf by circumstance; being responsible for such a large team wasn't something he felt confident about, especially if someone was hurt.
His mind wandered to capture the flag, as he gazed at the Goddess of the hunt and her band. They all seemed so confident, it made him doubt himself for a moment. He had to give himself mental positive reinforcement, but he wouldn't give up. "I'm going to wait for our team at the forest's edge," he said to Derek, Agatha and Asha. He hoped the exchange between Alex and Derek didn't hold them back as a team. Although from what he heard, the Hunters of Artemis were unbeatable. 'How could they be undefeatable? No one is invincible... right?' As he walked to the growing congregation, Chiron and Artemis conversed not far away. He wished he had the ears of the wolf so he could discern what was being said. All he could make out was something about a journey and some girl named Thalia.
Zeno examined his weapon set as he waited. One camper had been kind enough to help him with a quick lesson on metal, and his celestial bronze weaponry suited him better now for the possible monsters in the heart of the forest. He wondered if he might recognize any of the monsters from his childhood on the run. He looked at his muddled reflection in the shiny blade of his pipe axe. He stuffed the pipe end with an herbal blend and ignited it as he waited, blowing out large clouds after each draw. They reminded him of the storm clouds he could generate through concentration. Unbeknownst to him, the despair he had felt was the result of a certain daughter of Thanatos emanating her aura of death as he walked by her.
Samantha Yu
Mood: Anxious / With: Avalon @9forgotten / Location: Hephaestus table > standing at Hecate table with Avalon
Samantha finished her food, thoroughly satisfied, before finally reevaluating her surroundings. Calculating dark eyes took in Artemis and her Hunters, and Samantha couldn't help but sit a bit straighter. They were all beautiful, in a sort of moonlight kind of way. Samantha gave the rest of her food to Max, who practically inhaled the bits up ala Scooby Doo. The white dog licked his lips, before jerking his head to look out in another direction. Max jumped onto his feet and raced off to the other end of the pavilion. There, he saw Luna again and barked happily.
Sam hated when Max ran off that way. Something about being here at camp made him significantly more excited. Perhaps the new smells and territory. Sam exhaled and walked over to where Max was. She was pleasantly surprised to see the girl from the night before, Avalon. "Oh hey! How's it going? You, um, ready to... fight?" She punched at the air meagerly as if she'd never fought a day in her life. Truthfully, she hadn't. She remembered her equipment back in her room and as the thought popped into her head, "I don't think I'm going to be very useful during this game."
She had her mother's fire, Dionysus had to admit. It had been part of her mother's allure. As Alana went to town and back on her father, the wine god went silent as death. His face went red with anger as her rant became progressively more insulting. Dionysus realized that his methods of communication were sometimes lost in translation. He almost felt bad that his own daughter was so over the top upset with him, almost. No, Dionysus was a being far too complex for such limiting concepts. However, before he could respond to her, she stormed off. She even took the time to offer up her portion of food, and Dionysus had to wonder if she neglected or acknowledged her own godly parent.
"I like that one," Artemis noted.
"If she wasn't my daughter, I'd..." He paused, then took a long drink. "The thyrsus is a magnificent weapon. Clearly, the girl has no taste."
Azrael Hunt
Mood:Melancholy| Location:Pavilion | With: Most of the camp/Hades Table
Azrael had been one of the first people at the dining table and had still been there when the place started to fill up. He ate a surprisingly large amount of food, really only since he was used to skipping lunch and/pr dinner in case he got too lost in training or other events occurred. And it also seemed he was going to get a show with his meal as the drama already took it place. He couldn't help the amuse smile that took it's place on his visage as the God got yelled out by his own teenage daughter of all things. Further showcasing the horrid and dysfunctional relationship most of the Gods held with their children. And just when it seemed things were simmering down, the Zeus Spawn had to make a rather obnoxious(And rather stereotypical) comment about Hades Cabin.Azrael took those in stride. Wouldn't be the first time he had been discriminated against. Besides, he would get the male back in some roundabout way. However small the slights, he wouldn't miss an opportunity to repay the favor in even the smallest of ways.
His brother however, would most certainly
not.
'And in 3,2,1.....' And right as he is the '1' mark, the other spawn of Hades fired back, starting off pretty polite, but ending with a stinging and biting insult. This exchange would be forgotten in a year or two and life would go on as usual. Making any effort this time completely useless. That being said, he really was trying out this "Living in the Moment stuff." So when Alex made his way over to the table sat beside him, he casually took a sip of apple of juice before speaking in a bemused tone. "Now, was that really necessary?" Glancing at the male from his peripheals, and silently waiting for the fallout his comment was sure to provide, he honestly marveled at how they looked nothing alike yet shared a parent. That was Demi-gods for you in a nutshell. Nevertheless, he did consider the person next to him a sibling still.
"I mean we were going to shut up the arrogant little prick through our actions in the Capture the Flag game
and the Quest anyways..."
Seemingly ignored from his last little speech, Nate found little reason to interact with... anyone for the remainder of the evening. While the others discussed things among each other and Artemis, his biological aunt, even showed up, Nate paid little heed. He felt it was pointless to discuss what he saw with them. As a matter of fact, the young demigod was trapped in thought. They knew he wasn't crazy. They knew the origins of his problems; he shared many of them. No, they knew, and they still didn't care. Still mentally recovering from the issues created by his and those that existed before his institutionalization, Nate was now dealing with this odd feeling of alienation. It's not that he didn't feel he belonged. He knew he did, although his goal was someday to fit into the human world. No, he felt like everyone else was so consumed in themselves that he had no place.
Every single demigod that surrounded him seemed to be riddled with their own problems. Their own petty little sob story that despite overhearing, Nate carried little for. While a few of them socialized well, at heart, they were just teenagers ate-up with their natural search for identity in a world centered solely on themselves, and if others didn't fit into that, then they might as well not exist. Nate felt that he didn't fit into anyone's world, so... he went from being a problem to completely transparent. He wasn't a distraction; just another head to count. Nate had seen enough psychiatrists to know exactly how he was feeling, and why, but he had no ambition to change it or act on it. At least, not yet.
No, no, Crazy Nate wasn't about that. Crazy Nate wasn't going to strive for attention like they thought he did years before. Crazy Nate wasn't going to look for a spotlight to steal or an outsider to befriend. Crazy Nate knew he had a place in this new story being told, but he didn't know where yet. Something inside him compelled him to join, so even if he had to be in the shadows, he would find his place. Let the children of the Big Three act as if they were Gods among demigods. Let the fates, even, decide that those three were more important than Nate in some grand scheme. It didn't matter. Nate knew that destiny had a place for him, big or small, and he would fulfill it before he found his place in the mortal world.
Or maybe, Crazy Nate would live up to his name and do something that would force all the other demigods to be in his shadow. He entertained that thought, too. The gods and even Chiron so often focusing and praising the Big Three for what? Their parents? These children were not their parents and once one prophecy was fulfilled another would follow. Maybe it was time the children started chiseling their own destiny. Maybe it was time the demigods challenged fate. Maybe it was time that a generation defy those three crones and their tapestry and do something that would change history forever - utterly dissolve the status quo. But, these were just the thoughts that Nate entertained in his silence.
He wasn't that crazy... was he?
Location: Dionysus table at the Dining Pavilion
With: A leopard then him as well as her whole table and Zanna (@The Architect)
Alana sat in the tree, her legs swaying back and forth, eyes red and puffy, with a leopard at her side. Her fingers grazed the soft fur of the big cat, unafraid of him. Alana sniffled quietly. "I'm sorry, Mom. I'm trying, but he's just so...never mind." She felt the cat lay his large head on her lap, making the girl smile. "I know I should apologize. No matter what, he's still my father and he's still a god. He deserves respect." Both father and daughter were wrong and Alana knew that. Even if the God was too proud to apologize, which seemed highly likely. Alana would. She'd disrespected not only Dionysus, but everyone else at Camp with her little outburst, and right in front of Artemis too. "I'll do it." Alana told the leopard, who raised his head and blinked sleepily before stretching, yawning, and climbing out of the tree headfirst. "I'm comin', bud." Alana rode a vine to the ground then came back to her table, smiling at and hugging Nate as she passed. The leopard went under the table as Alana sat back down, right across from Dionysus. "I apologize, Father. That was very uncalled for." She looked to their goddess visitor. "And I apologize to you, Lady Artemis. I shouldn't have blown up the way I did." She bowed her head before resting it on the table, the leopard laying his large body on her feet and resting against her legs under the table. "Thanks for the information, by the way." She added to Dionysus.
Camper: Derek Newman
Mood: Frustrated then scared shitless, but willing to try and talk this out with his ever so lovely cousins
Location: Zeus table then Hades table
With: Aggie (
@too much idea) and Asha (@GinjaGen) then the Hades campers (@Celebi and @Gabriel Leko)
A cold chill ran down the boy's spine as he was confronted by his younger cousin. He hated when Hades' kids came around simply because they always ruined the good mood. But, they too were demigods and were therefore fully able to get through the magical barrier to camp. Hell, they could even leave without ever going through the actual gate! When Alex decided to confront him, Derek snickered, following the kid to his table. "Aly, baby, what's up? How are your friends on the other side?" Derek clamped his hand on the younger male's shoulder with one hand, ignoring Azrael for just a minute. Uttering a throaty laugh, he bent down in the kid's ear. "Compared to you, I'm bigger. If you want to insult me, do it properly. That's 'big prick' to you, Skully, and I never said inferior, baby boy." He pinched Alex's cheek. "You're so cute how you think you can actually intimidate me." Derek grabbed Alex's hair, moved his head back, throat exposed, and removed Keravnos, holding it at Alex's throat. "I'm sure Zeus appreciates your offering. Don't be sore because your daddy isn't the king. He may be older, but Zeus is a better fighter as are his kids, but, what are ya gonna do? It's only natural that I'm a great fighter. I'm devilishly handsome, receive top scores in everything I do, and for the most part, women have been ever so kind to me." Derek smirked at Azrael. "And, you, we'll see who does better in this game. I've trained for years working up to where I am now. Honestly, I'd rather be a prick than a big, lumbering ape man like you, but that's just totally my opinion, ain't it?" Derek pinched Azrael's nose, then quickly let go. "Listen, can you guys sense...let's say..." He waved one hand in a weighing gesture, "monsters dying? I can't find my griffon." Keravnos glowed dangerously, lighting dancing off of it as it made a similar sound to a Star Wars light saber.
Avalon Quinn
Mood: Relaxed| Location: Dining Pavilion hecate table| With: Luna--> Sam and Max @G4hardcore
Avalon was just finishing up her food as barking suddenly rang out. Looking up, the dark haired girl blinked as she recognized a white ball of fur racing over to where she sat. Luna, popped up and barked in return, jumping down onto the ground as Max arrived. A moment later, the girl from last night appeared. Smiling some, Ava gave a little wave.
"Good Morning" she greet politely. An eyebrow rose slightly in faint amusement as she watch Samantha ask about fighting, punching the air a bit as if something were there. "Sit down if you'd like, plenty of space." she said somewhat dryly as she gestured to the very empty table.
Chuckling softly in good nature, Ava shrugged slightly.
"I'm guessing you mean for capture the flag? I guess, it's certainly interesting to observe." she remarked thoughtfully. Due to her sleeping habits, Avalon hardly did much during the events, only sticking to her small role since she was often more then half asleep. She supposed that might be a bit different this time around. It wasn't like she didn't know how to fight, she just didn't put to much effort into it sometimes.
Tilting her head slightly as Sam spoke again, Ava shook her head slightly and offered what she hoped to be an encouraging grin.
"Nah, everyone has a part and it's always important. Maybe you're apart of the leading group to attack, maybe not. Doesn't matter, each part no matter how small it seems adds up and helps your team overall. Don't worry, if they can make use of a 95% asleep me, then I'm sure they can have a fully awake you doing something just as good if not better." Avalon assure waving her hand slightly.
"Best way to learn skills is to throw someone into sticky situations and work from there." she added a moment later. Avalon wasn't sure how helpful that was but she figured it'd be some help. Maybe. Ruffling her short hair a bit, feeling a tad awkward, she wondered how this year would turn out against the Hunters. Perhaps they stood a chance, even if Mr. D didn't appear to think so. Humming thoughtfully, Avalon glanced over at the Hunters for a moment before turning her gaze back to the girl in front of her. "And I guess if you want some training..." Ava paused, scrunching her nose up slightly for a moment, "well, extra training...I could give you a few pointers? Unless someone from your cabin has got that covered already." she offered with a nonchalant kind of shrug still looking at Samantha.
Azrael Hunt
Mood:Irritated|Location:Dining Pavilion,Hades table.
Azrael just looked at the male. Gazed right at him for a few seconds before speaking. Before my brother says or does something that will lead to a scuffle a, let me say this. "I pity you Derek Newman, and I hope you remain as you are. Ignorant. For ignorance is bliss and I wish for you to remain happy. Even if it means letting you live in whatever lies you've surrounded yourself with." The dark-skinned make then stood to his full height, making his nose was just barely touching Derek's as he stared at him intensely.
"You will not lead the Capture the flag game. You will not lead the Quest. There is absolutely nothing you can do to change that. Understand it. Accept it. Deal with it. You're making yourself look pathetic right now by whining about it like some overgrown crybaby and listing off all the traits about yourself as if this were some popular election. Peoples growth,development and lives are on the line and yet all I hear about is you and yourself." He didn't stop there, his verbal assessment of the male only growing more intense and louder.
"You are not a real leader. You know what real leaders do Derek? Real leaders sacrifice."Azrael snapped at this point, to emphasize his point as well as serving another purpose before continuing without skipping a beat."Would you sacrifice your "good looks?" By jumping in front of dragon fire? What about your years of hard work and training by losing an arm for a blow that was meant to kill a teammate? Would you really? Are you a real leader or just a Gloryhound? Because the latter only ends up getting people killed. So keep whining, keep crying and yelling it's not fair. But that's not going to change anything. Actions do. So with all of this, possibly useless possibly important information I took the time out of my day to hopefully impart some knowledge into your skull, I have but one more question to ask."
"What are you going to do Derek? Also, unless you want a foot long spike through your head, I suggest you remove your weapon from my brothers neck." The snap he had done earlier. A seemingly inconsequential action had formed a foot long pike of solid rock from the earth and was silently levitating right behind him, nipping at the locks at the back of his head.
Zanna Aswerlath
Location: Dinning Pavilion
Mood: Quiet, Angered, Thankful
With: Alana (@The Architect )
Zanna lifted her head up from her food when the god spoke to her, basically telling her to split and fast. She was about to respond but Alana beat her to the punch, adding on a bunch on complaints; it was kinda awkward being there right now. So she decided to stay quiet while they bickered back and forth, listening while she tired to appear as if she wasn't. It was kinda hard not to though as she was right there, and they were basically yelling. Alana then got up from the table and left for a while, during the time she was absent it sounded like more people had arrived. Perhaps the hunters were here already? Well...this wasn't going to end well, everyone knew what would happen to them...
The white haired girl looked back up to Dionysus when Alana left, instead of going on with a big lecture and all she simple had one thing to say:
"Bad things happen to those who deserve it" Zanna cautioned him, saying nothing more or nothing less to the man. He may be a god, but karma had a funny way of catching up on anyone; even the divine. Maybe his next meal would be cold or rotten, a bug could make its way into his mouth; he could stumble into a pool of sharks...; the possibilities were endless...personally she hoped for sharks. She knew something was to happen though, usually those who did wrong in her presence usually ended up having something bad happen to them, sometimes later then sooner. But either way, he would get what came to him the blind girl thought to herself as someone came up to the table, she looking towards this figure through her purple shades; the person sounded female and had a divine aura around them, a goddess. Zanna bowed her head slightly. "Lady Artemis, it is an honor to meet you" she greeted her respectfully before Alana came back to join them at the table. "Welcome back Alana" she turned towards Alana with a friendly smile as a greeting before returning back to face the god and goddess.
Agatha Sthenius
Mood: Excited, slightly surprised, shocked
Location: Dining Pavilion
With: Everyone, Chiron, Dionysus, Chiron, Artemis, Hunters
Agatha was surprised by what Derek said about the children of Hades. They might be emo and all, but they are just as good and as strong as them as another child of the Big Three and deserve opportunities like everyone else. And Derek doesn't need to remind her of that embarrassing moment last year, especially not in front of everyone else. Before Agatha could scold Derek both for it and for what he said about their half cousins, they are approached by Alex. Agatha doesn't talk much him or the other kids of Hades because they looked hard to approach. After blurting out what he thought, Agatha watched as Alex throw in some food for Hades and some for Zeus. Maybe to apologize to him for speaking like that to the son of Zeus. Agatha made a mental note to pray to her father for him to accept his apologize, that was nice of him.
Before she could ask Derek to apologize, properly apologize, he approached their cousins and do the unthinkable. First he insulted the child of Hades even more and even pointed Keravnos at Alex's troat as if he want to slit it open right now and then. What he did reminds Agatha of her bullies, he even worse than them. Agatha noticed how the other campers and even the wood nymphs stopped whatever they are doing, observing what's going to happen. Things will get really bad if they fought, thought Agatha is pretty sure that Chiron or Artemis will stop it before Dionysius could turn them into a dolphin or whatever. And then Azrael retaliated, manipulating the eart to create a pike made of solid rock and threatened Derek in return. This just getting out of hand.
"For Zeus's sake, stop it, Derek." Agatha firmly said. She carefully approached him and her cousins, trying to break the tense atmosphere between them. "Alright... Calm down, okay?"
Ivy wasn't one to go straight for the sword, oh no she preferred waiting until the target was unaware before lovingly kicking them in the back. Here she sat moments before, speaking with her siblings having a nice breakfast and being the happy kind Ivy. But no, it had to be ruined by some big headed, ignoramus sparkles throwing mini Zeus. She watched as her brother, Alex go up and throw insults back. She also watched as Derek pitched it back threatening her brother with his weapon.
When her other brother, Azrael retaliated, she grinned. An amused expression appeared on her face.
She lifted a finger and looked at Derek. "It would best for your own safety that you remove your barbarian like weapon away from Alex's face and even better yet why don't you take yourself..." She paused, giving a death glare, "And jump off a cliff?" She resumed a "friendly" smile, flicking her hands to form thorns around his legs.
If he tried to move the thorns would pierce him, leaving him in pain for hours. She shook her head, "Best not to move, or breathe." She giggled, her shoulders moving up and down as she went. The number one rule in her books was: do not mess with me or the my siblings. And Derek had just made that mistake.
Derek smirked as he felt the spittle flying from Az's lips. "First of all, step back. Your breath smells like something crawled in it and died." The son of Zeus locked eyes with his cousin. "Second, big man, thanks for caring, but I don't need your pity. You have no idea what the hell I've been through in my life." He jerked his head back when Azrael talked about him being ignorant. "You're the one with lightning crashing over your head about to kill your ass and I'm the ignorant one. All I gotta do is snap and your ass is grass." Derek laughed. "It's just that easy, Bone Boy. Just look at me the wrong way and your ass is lit up." Derek grew increasingly more irritated and furious with his cousin. His fingers curled and uncurled slowly until his sister showed up. "Stay back, Aggie. I can handle this sorry ass motherf-..." Derek inhaled. "I am a leader. I did sacrifice. I do not whine. I'm fine with you guys leading the quest. Your house, your old man, your rules, I don't care about that. I want you guys at the top for once, man, but you've been too busy getting onto my ass to see that. I wouldn't be over here if your brother minded his own business." Derek chuckled. "You wanna know something? You wanna know what I've been through?" He started to crack his knuckles, thinking about his past. "I sacrificed my own life for my mother. She and I got cornered at her office by a hydra, man. I was a little kid. I thought we were safe, man." Derek turned around, eyes beginning to water. "I almost lost the most important person in my life. The gryphon I asked y'all about saved us and that's why I want to find him." If there was one thing Derek couldn't handle, it was the electrical company story and the time Hera threw him off a cliff. "You wanna know why I wanna lead? To prove that I'm not that scared little boy that was tricked by that b*tch, Hera, then thrown off a cliff all because my father is her husband!" Putting his sword back in it's sheath, Derek felt himself about to go into a frenzy with all of his emotions. "I'm tryin' everything I can to prove that I can fix what happened to my mom." Derek began crying once more. Hastily, he wiped his eyes. "Hera kidnapped me, man. She disguised herself as an old woman, waited until I was alone in the park, then told me she was a friend of my mom's and took me to a cliff. When I wasn't paying attention, she pushed me off and I almost fell into a damn river before my friend pulled me up." He couldn't help himself anymore. Derek spun around and hugged Agatha, the thorns piercing his skin, but he didn't care. He felt pathetic. Az was right. This was the first time Derek had cried or told his backstory in front of anyone but his mom. "So now what do you have to say? I don't want to lead just because of who my father is. I want to lead to prove Hera wrong and make it up to my mom for not being able to help her when we got attacked, dude. I saved her life that day by distracting that hydra so she could get out of the shop. I am worthy of being a hero." Derek bent down to slice the thorns from his legs and walked off, still holding Agatha with his arm over her shoulder and flinching in the process as a powerful surge of energy courses through him. Derek felt warmer immediately. "Say something else, man." He spotted lightning crashing across the sky.
Alana had been listening to the conversation across the pavilion from her. Before she could remove the thorns from Derek's ankles, he'd sliced them through with his lightning shaped sword. "Thanks, Zanna. I just needed that time away from the situation. I'm alright. I bounced back." Alana hugged her again. "I wish we could start this game. Everyone seems to be on edge and we all just need to chill. We need to just have fun before this quest. We need to be a team. If we don't, we'll lose and this whole world will fall." Alana glared at the Hades table, and even Derek. One thing she hated was bullies and all of Hades' kids and Derek were bullies. "Pathetic. We need some organization and space here. Let's all just go to our respective tables and leave each other alone. The gods themselves don't necessarily get along, but I bet you anything that if they really had to band together, they would."
Azrael didn't say anything at first, and just continued to look at the Son of Zeus. After what seemed like an eternity yet was only a few seconds, he spoke. "We have all been through our amount of hardships. More than any regular person should have to endure. Loss of loved ones, moments of weakness, and even more events that should have left us broke." The hazel-orbed Demi-god closed his eyelids and folded his arms before continuing. "Alana is right. We need to be a team. We won't succeed otherwise. Last year, I took a huge risk in traveling abroad. There were times where I saw the absolute worst of humanity. People just tearing through others just to save their own skin or to further their own agenda. No monster, no being terrified me more than the ugliness I saw. The despicability of human nature."
He snapped his eyes open and walked towards Derek, stopping until there was only a foot separating them. "At that same measure, I saw the best. People caring for absolute strangers, banding together to stop injustice that didn't even pertain to them, and forgiving people who had wronged them immensely." He held out a hand to the other male, a smile suddenly gracing his visage. "I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to judge you so harshly when I didn't no much of you. Despite your...obnoxious, and sometimes arrogant exterior. It's always been what's on the inside that matters. You have an honorable goal with determination behind it. And even if I may end up not liking you in the future, Just know that you will always have my respect.
It was pretty funny. That single year travelling had him placed in more fearful spots than all of his quests combined. While he ended up getting a weapon, one that boggled him at times. Time and time again he asked himself if it was really worth it. Sometimes he couldn't even tell who the real monsters were.
But if he had to make a choice, he would do it all over again without hesitation. It made him wiser, and more knowledgeable at the cost of whatever childhood or innocence he had left.
"Can you forgive me?"
For a change though he decided he'd come to one of these camp meetings to see what all the excitement was, curious as to how the others could be so excited. He kept his eyes particularly on Chiron, waiting to see what he would announce next. Maybe a new camper? Another capture the flag game? No.. There had been one only a few days ago.. Ivy's heart softened, when the boy had spilled out all his sorrows. She willed the broken thorns away and walked over to Derek. Delicate hands hovered over his wounds. "Hold on let me remove the poison" she whispered. Her eyes zoomed in, locating where the poison had spread. Her hands made little twitches tugging at it. She sighed as a purple liquid slowly squeezed out from the wounds. With one flick the floating liquid vanished. She had soft spot for those who had experienced the rough times. Her soft voice spoke, "Though your behavior left a bitter taste in my mouth, you're reasoning is forgivable and for that I..." She made a slight face but reminded herself what the boy had experienced. With a reluctant but genuine sorry tone she continues, "I am sorry for my actions, they were too rash and like brother Azrael said let us fight together, not against each other" She repeated another apology and bowed.
As she stood there she contemplated about a smarter approach, a less crazy way of reacting a situation. Maybe Ivy should've have reigned in her inner crazy instead of letting it loose. She laughed in her head, "who am I kidding, I'll never be sane enough to be normal." When all her ramblings within her mind had stopped one bright idea formed. She turned herself to fully face Derek, "Speaking of teaming up together how about we form a treaty for capture the flag?" She titled her head slightly, a mischievous smile was slowly forming. She turned to her two brothers, an excited grin fully formed on her face. Her feet hopped from one another as she waited for both parties reaction.
Alex hadn't prepared for Derek to retaliate. He looked at the Son of Zeus as he called him Aly, he hated when he did that. Before he knew it he had a knife at his throat. Well, this wasn't expected, but I guess that was how things worked. He stared at Derek with an stoic black gaze "If a knife is suppose to scare me, I'm sorry you picked the wrong demigod." he frowned. He was pretty much at a stand still as Az, Agatha and Ivy came to the defense and soon saw the break in Derek's facade. He felt a pang of sadness as the normally confident demigod started to cry.
He was glad to have the knife off his throat, but he was worried for his cousin. He knew the feeling of sacrifice and related to Derek, he felt bad for shooting insults at him. "Cuz, I'm sorry for shooting off and calling you names." He said and put his hand on Derek's shoulder and gave a small smile, it was genuine though. "Instead of just the treaty, why don't the Zeus and Hades cabins work together to win against the Hunters. It's a way of saying, the Hades cabin is sorry and we should rather work together than fight." he said and turned to go finish his breakfast.
Annabel/ shy/ heading to Chiron next to the Zeus table (@G4hardcore) (I hope you don't mind)
Annabel eventually remembered that today was capture the flag day and a small look of fear came over her face as she closed her drawing journal and got up leaving it at her table accidentaly as she looked over at Chiron then started for him shyly and slowly squeezing past every one at the hades table sulently begging her father that no one she passed would call her out on the aura of death she gave off and walking up to Chiron a nervous look on her face. "C-chiron i-is it ok to request that I not participate in today's capture the flag." She asked him nervously knowing she would get a look of disappointment from him as she usually did when she asked him to not participate in capture the flag. She truly hated the thought of having to hirt one of the other campers plus the game actually scared her a lot, even if she was the daughter of death she hated the fact that she could easily kill one of the others in the game and never really mean to do it.
Agatha Sthenius
Mood: Excited, relieved, happy
Location: Dining Pavilion
With: Derek, childrens of Hades
That's the first time Agatha see Derek so... fragile. She occasionally forgot that Derek is, like most of them, are just a child that got dragged into this otherworldly manner just because they are half god or goddess. Derek is the son of Zeus, just like her, all children of the Big Three will never be safe. Even if they clean up every single monster inside the Underworld, Hera will still be coming after them the offspring of Zeus. Stories about Hera always reminded Agatha of the antagonist of some telenovela or soap opera. So vengeful, even if the person she hate didn't really do anything wrong to her. For a moment, Agatha feel really lucky that Hera never came after her. And hopefully, she will never will.
Agatha almost screamed when Derek turned and walked away through the thorn. He looked tough as if the pain he felt at the moment is nothing as bad as his past. And it seems that that fragile moment of his reached the heart of their half cousins. First, Azrael accepted him and apologized to him. Next, Ivy helped Derek by removing the poison and apologized as well. Last but not least, Alex. He even proposed a 'truce' between Zeus and Hades to work together against the Hunters. Agatha can't help but to smile.
"I would love it more if we can still work together even after the game and the quest. If anyone is fighting, let it be our fathers." Agatha glanced up to the sky, wondering if Zeus heard what she said or not. Just in case he did, Agatha will throw in some food and apologize. "Rivalry and competition is good, but let's not kill each other."
"We are sorry too." Agatha gave Derek a nudge as if to tell him that he should say sorry too. Agatha looked around and bowed her head slightly toward the other campers, wood nymphs, Dionysius, Chiron, and their guest. "We are really sorry for all the commotion."
