Fandom Camp Half-Blood Redefined

The girl flinched when she felt Evelynn... hug her? Well. This is not what she was expecting. She was honestly expecting another biting remark that I was nothing but a wimp, a coward, all of the normal insults. And being called Helena, not "Hades bitch" or "Black haired tramp" or whatever else. This sudden tenderness from Evelynn- an Ares child, no less- kinda shocked her so all she could do was stare at the other girl with a sort of stunned expression.

"Well... This is not what I was expecting. I'm not exactly sure what to do in this situation. Most people I know would take this sudden vulnerability and stomp all over me with it. Maybe I just have that 'I'm the kid everyone bullies, nobody loves me' mindset, I don't know. I genuinely don't know what to do now..." The words just flowed out of her mouth without really thinking. Damned filter in her brain must be broken. She felt a nervous laugh rise up in her throat, but she held it down, for fear that if she said anything else, what had just caused this tenderness would be shattered, if she hadn't shattered it somehow already.

Pulling back from the hug, Evelynn smiled at her. "You think too much. Sometimes, you don't need to do anything other than let it happen." The fact that she hasn't been hit once so far both surprised, and for some reason delighted her. She hadn't hugged anyone in what seemed like forever. They usually ran or fought, as she expected Helena to do. Apparently, both of them expected something rather different from what happened. She could live with that.

She went to brush some of the girl's hair from her eyes but stopped herself. She sometimes had issues giving people their personal space and didn't want the hostility tonrwsume over something stupid like that. Her Hans fell back to her side as she spoke again. "Besides, since when have I ever acted like 'most people'?" She asked softly, but didn't expect an answer. "Though . . . I think somewhere in there you do know what to do. You just don't want to let it come up."

"Do I?" She raised an eyebrow, and looked around. This was not the normal situation she was used to. She always kept her emotions in check. If she didn't... People died. And dad didn't need anymore souls to clog the Fields of Asphodel. She looked up at Evelynn, curiously, then around once more.

"...Has anyone seen Mason?"

Evelynn nodded. It was a bold claim to someone like Helena, but she was rather sure in it. Meeting the girl's curious look with a soft smile, she was about to speak when Helena asked her question. Her words died in her throat as she fell silent and chewed at her bottom lip. Finding Mason would be rather easy for her. She gave a small sigh and peered around, names and coordinates of people popping up as she surveyed the area. "Oh . . . Seems he's not far off."

She headed that way, finding Mason in the dirt. "Isn't there supposed to be a battlefield medic? He's not doing so hot . . ." She glanced around and her eyes alerted her to the trap holding him to the ground so firmly. "He doesn't have his waffles. That seemed to be his downfall." She reached into her armor and pulled out a M1911 and aimed it at the device, locating its critical points and then adjusting for the drop caused by the pressure field. She fired once, missed, adjusted again, and scored her hit.

"Ugh. I hate guns . . ." She commented as the field died down. She tossed the gun backwards into her armory with disdain and looked down at Mason. "I know combat medicine, but I think he might need a bit more than that." Evelynn said, locating the broken ribs and slight internal bleeding.

Mason squirmed and his face grew dark with pain. '--affles... those yummy waffles... what was I think---' he murmured out loud with blood slowly falling from his lips.

Helena walked over and looked at Mason, then knelt and picked him up, walking off. "GROVER!" She shouted. "GROVER, WE HAVE A CASUALTY!" She looked around for the stupid satyr. She found him being tortured by Fred, who was chasing him around a tree. "Fred! Down! Sit!" The hellhound immediately sat and his tail thumped on the ground, his tongue lolling out of his mouth, slobbering only slightly. "Bad boy! How many times have I told you not to eat the satyrs?"

Grover yelled, "GAH! That was horrible! Ew!". He went to them and saw Mason on the ground, "Remember the rules? Someone disobeyed the rules! Who did this to you Mason?"

He then looked at Evelynn, "This has been one of the longest games of all time. Where is their flag? Go take it to the other side so it's all over! I want to get ready for the cabin mixer tonight!"

Alec walked up the hill with the flag in his hands. "Yeah I already did that." He dropped the flag and looked at Mason, confused. "You okay?"

Helena sighed and knelt by Mason, pulled some ambrosia and took a tiny chunk off the square and opened Mason's mouth, then stuff it in. "Now swallow that. That's ambrosia, food of the gods. It'll heal you in a few minutes. Don't eat too much god food, though. Otherwise you might spontaneously combust."

Evelynn stared exasperated at the damn little satyr. She wanted to hit him incredibly hard for telling her to end conflict before it was meant to end. Managing to control her desire to beat the bleat out of him, she ground her teeth and grumbled, spinning on her heel and then turning back again in frustration as Alec announced himself. She needed some fruit . . .

Grover yelled, "Woo! It is over!"

Ryan heard Grover from the distance, "Thank the gods...I thought I was never going to see the end of this if you brought out your deathly squirrels again" He said jokingly to Vitus and went over to Grover and the rest of them, "Woah what happened?"

Mason was force fed the ambrosia and his body began the mending process. His bones forced there way into place and melted together. His eyes opened wide and quickly turned over to throw up the remainder of blood inside of his lungs. He wiped his face off and started at the goat. "Waffles. Waffles did it...." He said then trailing off into his head, "I'm off waffles for now...."

"No idea... I gave him some ambrosia. He'll be okay." She looked at Ryan, shrugged and pushed Fred's open jaws away from Grover, the hellhound whimpering and snapping is jaws at his refused goat meat. "No goat for you buddy. Cmon." She grabbed him by the rope tied loosely around his neck and lead him out of the woods.

Jason trudged up the hill, his mother had given him directions, but he still felt weird asking the driver to stop in the middle of nowhere. He had just turned sixteen and his mother was shipping him off to some camp, So he could meet the others as she put it. "Thanks mom" he muttered, he almost didn't realize he had reached the top until he was gazing down into a beautiful valley waith odd looking cabins and a wide array of Greek styled structures. "No way." He said in an awed gasp, He hurried down the hill his duffel bag smacking against his back, but he didn't mind dispite his appearance he was quite strong. He came to a stop in the middle of the cabins and looked around gazing at the design and individuality of them, no two were alike. He stopped, seeing no one around disturbed him, so he did the normal thing he said, "HELLO! ANYBODY HERE???" he figured it was a stupid question but it should grab someone's attention.

Grover responded, "Well apparently Ryan, waffles severely wounded Mason."

Grover looked back at Mason, "No waffles for two weeks! Now let's go back to our cabins and get some rest. Feel free to wander around or something...." Grover started walking away and he thought to himself, Waffle...that's what I was craving for. I'm going to get me a waffle.

Braiden Waffleton saw Jason enter the camp. Waffleton ran back to his cop car and quickly drove off to the city.

Ryan looked at Alec, "Good job" He smiled then felt the pain of the squirrel scratches on his arms, "I'm going to go to the cabins now..." Ryan started walking toward the Zeus cabin.

Loud barking sounded as the hellhound broke free of his mistress's grip and ran directly at the new boy, pounced, and flattened him, entirely on accident. From there, he proceeded to lick the newcomer's face throughly, in an extremely friendly manner. "FRED! BAD BOY!" The black haired girl ran over to the giant mastiff and dragged him off. "How many times?!" She scolded, then looked at Jason. "....GROVER! We've got a new kid!" She dragged Fred the hellhound away and into the skull encrusted Hades shed. When she again appeared, she walked over and offered a hand to the new boy, offering to help him up. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. Don't mind my hellhound, he's excitabble and friendly."

Grover went over to Jason, "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! Land of the awesome!"

Ryan decided to see who the new kid was so he went over to him.

Grover said, "My name is Grover and that is your cabin" He pointed to the Poseidon cabin and smiled.

"Yes, Grover has goat legs. Yes, Grover is a satyr. Also, how do you know his dad is Poseidon? We have Jaycee, or whatever her name is. Whats the likelyhood that Poseidon sired TWO demigods?" Helena looked at Grover susiciously.

Jason hadn't even seen the ...dog coming, it looked odd like it was burned yet okay. He thought it was going to attack him but ended up getting a faceful of sandpaper instead. He laughed even after the dog was pulled away, he took the girl's hand and stood up, "Thank you I'm uh I'm Jason." He grabbed his bag before standing straight again, "Satyrs...real...Ok I've heard weirder, but son of Poseidon god of the sea? You gotta be kidding."

Evelynn never involved herself much with greeting newcomers. He just got here and several people greeted him promptly so it wasn't like she needed to. Raising a hand in the air, she gave a wave, to the newcomer but headed towards the dining hall. She needed some strawberries, badly. Entering the hall she made a quick raid, piling strawberries, and a few other fruits, into a bowl and escaping back into the yard. Locating a nice perch, she sat down. She bit into a strawberry and sighed happily, her troubles seeming to melt away with the juicy deliciousness.

Grover responded, "Very likely, too likely....just kidding I don't know. But I know he is a Poseidon kid...because I know."

Grover turned to Jason, "You feel a strong connection to water don't you? And you can manipulate water as I have heard? Yes? Yes. Now I need to go eat now! DON'T ASK ME QUESTIONS WHEN MY SATYR ESTOMAGO IS HUNGRY! Believe me Jason...I'm a lot nicer than this, but I'm pretty hungry so see yah!"

Ryan said hi to Jason and went to the clinic. He got a few cotton balls and alcohol, and brought them outside. Ryan sat next to a tree and started to clean the stupid squirrel scratches.

Helena sighed as Grover ran off, then looked at Jason. "Well, I guess I'M your tour guide." She held out her hand aagin. "Helena Imuuno, daughter of Hades. Yes, Hades. The Lord of Underworld."

"Uh okay bye." He looked towards thegirl that just introduced herself and took her hand shaking it this time. "Daughter of Hades? Awesome, Yeah so I guess I'm the son of Poseidon, Jason Michaels. Mind if I drop off my stuff before the tour?" He looked around wanting to get to the beach and see what he could do.

"Sure. We don't know if your a son of Poseidon, yet. So, you'll be in the Hermes cabin. Thats where all the undecided go. It's the one with the cadecus above the door. Don't leave anything precious or valuable in there, it'll be stolen the second you leave it." She nodded. "If you are found to be Poseidon's kid, you'll be in the big blue cabin, you know, right next to the Hades shed- I mean cabin."

She was so involved with her fruit she didn't notice Ryan's arrival until he spoke. Giving a bit of a jump, she looked at him and wiped her mouth on the back of her sleeve. "I . . . uhh, don't know." Ace was someone she tried not to think about too much. "But he's a tough little pest. I'm sure he's fine."
