Realistic or Modern ☆ café roleplay II anime ☆ hiring!

Letting out a small huff Emiko nodded in thanks before nibbling on the biscuit. "Well then how am i supposed to guess?" She complained - though her voice was muffled somewhat by her eating. Taking a hold of the tea Emiko smelt it, a habit she had developed since she was young. It smelt wonderful, just how a fresh cup of tea should smell, but of course, smells can be deceiving. Taking a sip her eyes widened and she couldn't help but splutter and cough, whilst attempting to swallow the unknown liquid. "Th-this is tea?! I don't know what's worse, how deceiving it is or the actual taste... Well, i suppose it is still freshly brewed." She asked in disbelief, shaking her head to herself yet chuckling. "That's a shot alright.... challenge accepted!" And with that she tried to gulp down the rest of the tea - yet only managed a half.

Sighing in defeat her shoulders slumped. "I blame it on the temperature, i would not let such a mere cup of tea defeat me in the battle of wits" She stared at the teacup, as if challenging it.

Like any other day, Kagari has awoken and began to get ready for the day. Rolling out of bed, he took a quick shower and got dressed. One thing he noticed was that his king sized bed was always half empty, forcing out a deep sigh from the male. He was almost 22, and already had most of his life together, but a partner was what he lacked. Maybe his new job at the café will be an opportunity at settling down with someone. Yes, Kagari was one who favored love, well, like anyone else would. It was a nice thing to have in life, especially when you work at home and have no one else to share your three story house with. Nonetheless, Kagari had to get on with his day, get on with his life, and become part of his new recreational leisure job.

Kagari ran a brush through his thick red locks and pulled on a coat. It's cold today... he thought while buttoning up his vintage brown coat. He then slipped on his eye patch—in which today was adorned with a small circular jewel embellishment—and stepped out of the house. He flashed a glance at his watch, noting the time. They must be just setting up at the moment... he thought while walking down the old sidewalk. Puffs of white air blew out when Kagari exhaled, forcing out a small smile shown by a soft upwards curvature of his soft pink lips.

Once he arrived at his destination, the small café, anyone could see that there was multiple events going on. He, himself, was assigned to whatever he would be needed on, today being a barista. He smiled once more at the thought of hot gourmet coffee peaking at his lips, the steaming liquid flowing like a dying creek down his throat. Kagari made his way to the counter and then behind it, and pulled on an apron like the rest of the staff was seemingly wearing. Some working individuals were fabricating small and idle chatter, while the esteemed author awaited directions, leaning his elbows forward on the edge of the counter.

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE: 2001— FOREVER

Yano took a bite of the biscuit he held, which resulted in crumbs falling down his chin and rolling down his white shirt. As he looked up at her, he met a pair of eyes with one of the weirdest looks he had ever seen before. It caused him to burst out in laughter. His eyes teared up as he laughed but after a little while, it silenced down. "Y-You should see the look on your face" He managed to say through the leftover chuckles. "Don't blame me, I did warn you!" Right after that, he noticed her litteraly throwing in the rest of the tea. To this, he burst in laughter yet again, this time wiping the tear that rolled down his cheek. Once his laughter calmed down for the second time in two minutes, he looked down on the ground with a slight smirk on his lips.

Emiko couldn't help the smile that spread across her face when she saw how much the man was laughing. "Well, you can't blame me. I don't count that as safe" She raised an eyebrow at the cup of tea on the counter, sitting there looking harmless. Giggling softly to herself she turned back to the waiter. "Well, i'm glad i amuse you Mr Waiter" She actually quite liked calling him that, not knowing his name didn't really matter to her, in fact, it would make a good place in one of her many stories.

"I think it's perfectly safe, you didn't die. That counts as something, right?" Yano grinned and looked back at her. But after even an instant of staring at her, he turned his head towards the clock behind him. There was only one hour left of his shift. Some would consider it a very short shift, but this particular guy rarely signed up for more than a few hours, almost never more than three hours. But well, he did have other jobs on the side, so he still made quite a way of living. Snapping back to reality, he blinked a few times and looked back at the girl next to him. "So, Emiko, why don't youu tell me a little about yourself? Not to be a bother" He said and cracked another smile to crack the silence that had appeared out of nowhere.

Emiko noticed him glancing at the clock before him and it suddenly struck her that she had her interview extremely soon. "Not a bother. Well, I'm a seventeen year old female?" She stated, questioning slightly whilst racking her brain for information. How does one define themselves? "I am unemployed, looking for a job... that is what the interview is for, obviously. I wish to be a journalist or a writer of some kind... for now i just post novels online which brings in a unlivable profit and sends me into a spiraling oasis of despair. I've gone to interview after interview but with no luck. It must be something to do with my age..." She trailed off in thought, shaking herself off. "But no worries. What about yourself?"

Yano nodded a little as he spoke, listening carefully to what she said. "I must say, you look older tha seventeen. Not in a bad way of course! But you look very mature for a teenager, and I honestly meant that as a compliment" He said, traling off a little bit. He did hear her question, the one where she asked him about himself, but he pretty much chose to ignore it. He didn't mean it in a bad way, it was just that he somewhat disliked to talk about his personal life. Quite a meanie, asking about other's but not talking about himself. But instead of answering it, he intentionally ignored it. "So, those novels of yours? What kind of novels?" He smiled a little.

Emiko shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "I hear that quite a lot actually... and my novels aren't anything special, really" She stated, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. She didn't really know how to explain her novels, she didn't even know herself what they were about or what they may hold, let alone someone else. "I don't really know how to explain them, when i just start writing everything kind of spills out and the story starts building itself up and up, chapter after chapter. If you ask me, i don't create the stories. They create themselves, I just act as the sinister puppet master who bring misfortune upon them i suppose" She smirked slightly. Emiko was joking of course, but by the look on her face you wouldn't have known.

"So, do you have any hobbies for when you're not working?" She inquired, desperate to dig around. Most people are itching to talk about themselves, give them and opening and off they go. People who aren't? Well, it's easy enough to spot and since Emiko hadn't gotten anything yet she was itching to grasp even a smallest of thread that could unravel everything.

Yano leaned back on the counter again as he listened to every word she said. He enjoyed hearing peoples' stories, no matter what the story was about. But it was interesting to hear about how other people lived. "That's quite fascinating. I've always dreamed of becoming one of those creative souls, but well it didn't happen" he said with a slight shrug. And it was true indeed, as a child he tried to draw and paint but he would always end up copying every single thing his older sister had made. He wasn't really the one to come up with these mind-blowing ideas, so to speak.

"Hobbies? That's a funny one." Yano said with a short chuckle. "I don't have the time or money for that. I spend the time when I'm not working by trying to sleep." He said with a short laughter, making it sound like it was a joke. But it was true, he tried to sleep during his free-time. Keyword; Tried. He was yet another of the group of insomniacs. But well, not that it mattered to him. He got stuff done and for that he was relieved.

Jameson took another sip of his coffee and drained the small remaining drops of liquid that clung t0 the bottom of the cup. With a sigh he also finished off the small piece of coffee cake that he had been given. With a cough he closed his laptop and stretched. Looking about he spied the two at the counter chatting, the girl now sporting a new shirt and nibbling on a pastry. Gazing around the rest of the cafe he saw the woman who, until a minute ago, had been quite loud focused on whatever was in front of her. Raising up out of his chair he walked to the counter "Excuse me, could I get a cup of Goldenrod Tea?" He couldn't help but notice the man's eye-patch but hoped he didn't stare too long.

"Hm? What about friends, family? Don't you ever see them in your free time?" Emiko was growing unsure but still continued, wishing to have more information.

"Do you work a lot then? It seems like you do but if you don't have decent money from it then- " Suddenly, Emiko got the vibe that felt like she shouldn't pry - for once in her life - and quickly shook her hands violently with wide eyes. "Not that i mean to be invasive... i tend to do that a lot so feel free to shut me up whenever... Sorry" She groaned into her hands.

Yano looked down on the floor below him before he spoke. "I meet my family every now and then, but they don't live here. You see, I'm actually from Hokkaido but moved here a few years ago." He said and looked up at her with a smile on his lips. Then she started to ramble on about something but she cut herself off just before the end of the sentence. Yano raised an eyebrow at this and ran a hand through his hair. "Then what? I don't think I work quite that much actually, but if you say so." He said and let the warm smile re-appear on his face.

@Emi

Emiko warily smiled back. "Sorry, i just assumed. By the way you were talking it seemed like you didn't get much time to yourself, and when you said you didn't have any kind of hobbies i just figured you may have been working a lot." She gave an effort to explain the process that was going on in her head, but her words came out in an incoherent jumble.

Clearing her throat she pulled her bag on top of her shoulder. "Well, i should be going now Mr Waiter. Don't want to be late now!" She winked at him and patted his shoulder as a goodbye.

Yano blinked a few times but quickly shrugged it off. "I never said I didn't have any hobbies, I simply said that I didn't have the time to actually do them." He said with the same smile glued to his face but before he could realise it, she was already making her way from him. "Good luck with the interview" Yano said with a cheeky grin followed by a silent sigh. After that, the young man stood up from the counter and brushed away the few cookie crumbles on his black jeans. With that done he waltzed away from where had been standing to take orders from the customers who had just entered the little café.
