Futuristic C&C Warlords Act 2

Battaglione Del Tuono

ACTIONS TAKEN
FREE ACTION: Deploy for Mission 1-A (TO be Resolved on Discord with assistance from Solace of Choir and The Artic Dreadfleet)

ACTION 1: Establish a suitable beachhead for preliminary assault on defensive fortifications

The enemy beachhead was quite well defended with lots of hardened positions and troops to prevent easy landfall. But, there were a few options available to them.

Choose one:

- Make beachfall at a sizeable cliffface that seems to be much more lightly defended. (This will disallow any Vehicles for this mission)
- Make beachfall at a HEAVILY DEFENDED beachhead. This will make things harder, but allow you to bring in an additional 500 points of units. (Does not affect your allies)
- Distraction play. SACRIFICE 500 points to allow an EASY LANDFALL

ACTION 2: Falsify leaked military intelligence with the intent on diverting enemy forces to a fake landing point

The military data was sent out for a fake landing point. Some of the army was sent out, but most were still sticking towards the most likely landfall positions.

Outcull

Mission: 1C (This Mission was already resolved by another player and resulted in failure)

Action 1: Research how to research way betterer.

In your attempt to push your research team further ahead in their research, they uncovered a couple of options while trying this:

Choose one:
- Spent 2 CP to construct a Hadron Collider.
- Hire a world renowned scientist to your team for 1 CP and 2 TP

Action 2: Scout local areas for free stuff and parts.

Scouting out the local area, you manage to acquire the wrecks from a recent battle between GDI and Nod forces.

Choose one:

- Gain 6 Scrap
- Gain 2 Scrap and a Mammoth Cannon equipment
- Gain a Scrap Medium Tank

The Librarians Guard
Turn 1

Wenert massaged his forehead with one hands, eyes closed as his headache began to fade slowly. After a few more long moments the aged man returned to the report in his hands, reading over the logistics of the settlement he had been given control of. In the background the radio continued to play lowly, smooth classical music echoing throughout the room as the up jumped librarian continued his work peacefully. That was, at least, until a piercing alarm went off and the music shut off instantly. Werner's eyes shot to the radio and he listened in horror as the news of the Philadelphia's destruction was played.

"Was!? Lieber Herr!" The elderly man's native tongue slipped from him in shock as he pushed himself to his feet, grabbing his cane and rushing to the door almost before the news stopped. "Kira! Kira! Get me the council!" The old man called out to his assistant, the woman in question staring at the small TV in the corner.

"Herr Hafner, what are we going to do!?" The german woman looked panicked even as she grabbed the phone, preparing to gather the small council that the librarian had created to assist him.

"That is something that we will have to figure out," Wenert's face was grim, the Oxford graduate already going over everything that would need to be done mentally. "Send any messages that come in to my office, I will go over then when I have a chance."

Action 1: Construct a factory

Action 2: Recruit to the Defiant Battalions forces

Neo-Druids
Amirjah sits quietly, listening to the broadcasts carefully. Once it's over, she stands, sharp canines bared in a grin, her claws flexing. "Vietnam. Light guard, in a forest? They've practically invited us. It would be shameful not to show up. While we're there, let's see if we can't find some new friends to bring back here. Home team, make sure they'll have plenty to eat."

She turns to leave, getting her orders spread through the camp. This is going to be fun!

ACTIONS:
Forgotten mission 1B
Scouting Vietnam for any new unit types not already obtained.
Work on engineering a farm that'll function well in a red zone.

The Librarians Guard

Action 1: Construct a factory

The construction of the factory goes extremely well. It seems that the people are all for bulking up how well their vehicles perform. And making improvements to their existing factory is the most sensible thing to do.

Choose one:

- Gain an Improved Factory
- Gain a new vehicle Type
- Upgrade one of your existing vehicles

Action 2: Recruit to the Defiant Battalions forces

The recruitment drive goes much better than expected. The people want to help protect what is there's from the coming chaos. Time will tell how they can perform.

Choose one:

- Gain 1 MP
- Gain a new infantry unit
- Upgrade your existing infantry unit

Neo Druids

ACTIONS:
Forgotten mission 1B (To be resolved on Discord)

1. Scouting Vietnam for any new unit types not already obtained.

Vietnam seemed to not have too many new types of Tiberium Creatures in it. Although, it seemed more likely that they were just good at hiding. The Neo Druids could bring in one if these creatures:

CHOOSE ONE:
- Neo-Plant- A mobile and carnivorous Tiberium Plant creature.
- TiberMonkey- Small monies that are covered in Tiberium Crystals.
- Iron Hawk- Hawks with Thick played tiberium "feathers"

2. Work on engineering a farm that'll function well in a red zone.

Construction on the farm goes well. They manage to gather food stuffs that can grow in such a harsh environment. Mostly various mutated fruits and vegetables. But they are edible and can be delicious if properly prepared. GAIN 2 CP.

Turn 2: UNLOCKED
(Mission briefings will be posted in Faction specific channels. Attempt to hack to find out enemy missions)

MAJOR WORLD CHANGES THIS TURN:

Due to major destruction in Canada, Nod has free reign in the region. NOD BASES IN CANADA HAVE BECOME STRONGER.

Even as NOD forces begin to get pushed out of the Eastern USA coastline, MAJOR CAMPAIGNS have begun in Ireland and France.

There has been much talk of MUTATED ANIMALS attacking Mercenary and NOD forces in ASIA.

The Titan Corporation has seen its stock rise several points with the recent acquisition of a private research group. Apparently, it was well received. Though whatever they are researching is kept under lock and key.

    Talasin's Compassionate Leap of Faith
[Section Theme] - Sunset Grove - Shortly after Mission 1-A

    [Talasin]

Key: [~Italics~] Dialogue between the deep bonds of the twins, deeper beyond normal telepathy.
[\italics/] Dialogue deep in another's mind in which a stronger bond is not present.

Mother, you always said that to get anywhere, you needed to get out of your comfort zone. Well, here goes nothing. And I hope you can forgive me. I... have to hide this from Maxim until its done. You told me not to keep things from him. But, he's in rough shape. He's losing his humanity. If he was himself, I wouldn't need to. I feel more and more everyday that he's becoming a stranger. As if he's dying right in front of me. I need to be brave. So, to help him, I need someone other than me to be around. I need him to see that people can be good, to believe again in the brighter vision you saw. That light. To remember who he is. And as the tanks of father come from the pillaged research station, as the occupants came out, as Maxim punched and scraped the tanks apart, I found someone to help him. Our first cerebrate. I should start at the beginning, shouldn't I?

Maxim and I stood at the edge of the grove as they approached. The survivors of our brood and the various vehicles kicking up dust until they reached the grasses, the soil we made. We released our brood to the springs to recover from their battles. Calm day, little wind. The feral tiberium glowing and irradiating around. I do forget how desolate the outside world is. How most of the world is a wasteland and hellscape. I wonder what others would think coming to our grove. A pristine environment not seen by anyone alive. As Talia says. But, I think my father might have seen it too. Seen what once was. Not that it matters. Maxim rolls his shoulders as our molen pass by. His eyes narrow as he compelled the occupants of the tanks out of them and onto their knees. Their minds blank besides our commands. Themselves buried deep. Box them in and take the wheel. He approached the first tank driver. I could hear a rush of thoughts then a clenched fist as a head scattered into pieces all along the ground. Their blood seeping into the soil. Tiberium crystal claiming their bodies, their nutrients made for other purposes. Maxim then stepped to the other. Repeating the process. Before he reached the fourth, I stayed his hand.

~Let me handle this. Scrap the tanks. We have better organic reclaimers here. Our scrap reclaimers deeper can handle the tanks.~

~Fine. These animals make me sick.~

I continued. Rapists, terrorists, overall bad people; people you detested, people like those that used you at Nod. Used your talents. So, another four were killed. Seven killed, the last remained. Supposedly, there would be more. But, as Dmitri mentioned, the station was rather unguarded. Leaving the worst of the tank division behind to guard. And that mother is when I met him for the first time. Joel. Out of the drivers, he was the most pathetic, scrawny, diseased one. So much so, I could barely hold back tears. What kind of horrors had he experienced? Why was he in a tank, not in a hospital? What sick game were they playing? My hand rested on his shoulder and I could feel his muscles barely manage the weight I put on him. Little as it was. The hold on him was enough to control, to get a glimpse into what laid below. But, it was a hold, not a link. Time to go deeper, to learn more. The grasses felt nice, soft and comforting, as always. I sat down on a small hill, commanding the survivor to my side. I didn't know his name yet, but I wanted to know. He sat down with shaky legs. I laid his head across my lap with his body in the grass. A beanie covers the mess of dying, thinning hair. His skin scaly and dry. I leave it to the side. Nod uniform, smelled of body odor, oil, and smoke. Not a good sign. A small tiberium blade cuts down, cutting away the disgusting uniform, revealing a thin body. Visible ribs, sucked-in stomach, dried blood from old wounds; a sorry state, a horrible state of health. When did he last eat? My fingers find their way to his neck. A physical connection leads to less problems, less chances of complications. Problems in the body lead to problems in the mind. Maxim... has made a few heads explode for that reason. Crashing in and destroying them. So, I knew he had some time if he survived our mental onslaught. Slowly, carefully, I entered his mind. Leaving the hold to keep him calm and unaware. My other hand found its way to his chest, feeling out the irregular and struggling beat of his heart. A constant as I entered the spiral of his mind. Then momma, was when I learned his name, Joel Scarlett Aturnas. Twenty-four, from the east coast of Australia, his memory of his hometown had faded. A red flag I didn't notice right away. Afterall, our holds can scramble some things. But, it wouldn't elude me for long. His middle name after his bright auburn hair which was entirely absent now. It was grey. But, I could tell as I viewed his memories. Younger, brighter days. Though, not as bright I though they were.

He went to a place called a highschool. Deep within the blue zone of Australia. Looked much better then. Youthful and alive. Did a thing called lacrosse? Oh, a game about throwing a ball around with a net on a stick. Interesting. Three sisters, last to be born. Okay relationship with all of them. Nothing close it seems. I do forget that not everyone is like Maxim. Joel didn't have the luck to have a Maxim. And I felt that he didn't many other luxuries either. Slowly, I dipped further and further. Joel was deep as the hold does. But, I could feel him. Terror, sadness, resigning himself; my progress into his mind exposed me to the overwhelming problem he had. Numerous nodes of scar tissue in the lips, inner cheeks, nose, and other facial areas. Ulcers all along his digestive track, cancerous lumps in his liver and pancreas. I believe you would say he is stage 3 mother. Maybe even 4. I didn't notice a limb on him before. But, I could see where the cancer was affecting his ability to move. Acting strange. A stage of starvation, muscle atrophy, close to kidney failure. It was all so much. It all hurt so much. An entire body in pain. And more to uncover. How did he have the strength to move? I felt his thoughts, drugs. Everything from Nod tiberium drugs, old world street drugs, stuff from Titan Corporation. A cocktail of drugs. And in those details I noticed even more problems. Dying... he's dying. How did he live this long? As I asked the question, I finally reached his consciousness. No more simple records, the full images of his life. And in them, I heard a voice. His voice.

\Do I love you? Do I hate you? Hard to feel something at all./ What was he talking about? Is he dreaming right now? That will have to wait. I need to get him to a pool. I can't let him die. Nothing in here shows he's a bad person. More of the opposite. I have to save him. A friend for Maxim. With the thread there, I return to my body. A kanga beside me. I jump inside with Joel wrapped in me so that I protect him as the kanga hops deeper in the grove. I return back down to him. \Why do you do this to me? Why did you sire me if you were going to leave me? If you were going to hate me?/

All alone. I look down, seeing a younger and healthier Joel. Scrawny still, but in a normal sense. Six years ago. Yellow zone, I turned around, where he was looking. Parked GDI vehicles. Humvees? That what it appeared to be. Guns drawn, mounted guns manned. As if they were interacting with opposing forces, not a single person, a single eighteen year old. A name came to me from him, like his mind wanted me to understand. General Harman Aturnas. His father was in the command structure of GDI. Where exactly or how prominent, Joel had not a clue. As I scanned the small convoy, General Harman stood out. He sat on the hood of the Humvee looking out to his son. His arms crossed, one foot on the ground. Wearing the dress uniform of GDI. At least, I guess that is what he wore. And your memories, mother, are hazy on GDI. Father didn't let you have interactions with them. So, I understand. I pray that Harman is not typical for GDI. But, I feel that it is a strong possibility. But, as returned to the scene, Harman called out to his son, snark in voice.

"So, the party excuse this time? Really? You going to a party? Who the hell would invite you?"

Joel gritted his teeth, kneeling in the dirt and tears striking down his face in pods of droplets. I approached him, a memory. A scene I cannot change. I sat down beside him, wrapping my arm around his shoulders. Rubble, scrap, and dirt; a t-shirt, light coat, and shorts is all that he had. Maybe, one of those talkie things... a phone. Maybe some money. Nothing else. His changes of survival barely anything. Practically zero. Cuts across his chest, the ravines in his shirt. Did they hurt him? He rolled his head before he snarked back.

"I could give you every proof, but you never listen. Dragging me out in front of mom, ripping and cutting me up, dropping me off here all shows that no matter what I say, you finally found the balls to murder me. So shoot me. Fucking shoot me. Or are you a bitch? Shoot me yourself. Kill your son."

Harman hopped off the Humvee, unholstering his pistol. He approaches Joel in a powerwalk. As soon as he reached him, Harman slammed his gun across Joel's face. Blood splattered as Joel's shoulders hit the ground. He held his face, spitting out blood. Yanking him with a death grip on his hair, Harman pressed the barrel of his gun to Joel's forehead. Blood spilling out of the front of his face, dripping out like an overflowing pot, Joel grinned at his father. He didn't look afraid. Harman growled, "Because you know your guilt. Bombing the mall is your fault, your plan. And I am going to put you down."

"Oh, judge, jury, and executioner now huh? Hating me isn't evidence I did it."

Harman rolled his eyes, "Not everything is perfect. And why wait months for the same outcome? You don't get away with murdering forty people. Injuring a hundred others." The gun pressed further into Joel's forehead. Everything still, not a person was moving. But as the moments pass, Harman kept his finger off the trigger. Just above.

Joel stare into his eyes, "I'm waiting." General Harman pushed his son to the ground, on his back. Pointing his weapon down, popping a shot into each of Joel's legs... his thighs. Stepping back, he holstered his weapon. I... is that how he was going to do it? Cripple Joel and leave him to die? As I tried to understand why you would do that as I could feel... the mutual hate, Joel's father waved his people into the vehicles. And in moments, they drove away as Joel winced in pain. Hold his thighs, yelping. I adjust back over to him. Instinct, as I could do nothing to change it.

    \I'm sorry I couldn't be the son you wanted. Now, what's next?/

Then, I heard his voice. But, it was not part of the memory. I felt around, walking out of that memory to a dark, void space. Steps, then I was face-to-face with him. The real, present Joel. Even in his own mind, the wounds and decay of his body followed him here. I looked into his yellow eyes, the shade of your favorite ice cream mother. A sweet lemon. If the memories of yours and the few others we have is a good sample, he has a rare eye color. Some lightened, more saturated amber. Yet, something that felt different entirely. He was wearing a tank top, a fluffy, furred jacket, and a sweatpants. A hoodie tied across his waist. I think that is what everything is called. A tab of the jacket open outward, held by a button. He looked clean and a sense of presenting himself well. Maybe he can pass that onto Maxim. I swear Maxim can't dress himself to save his life. I stared at him and so did he. Holding his stomach, his eyes soft yet tight and focused.

\So, you've come for me at last./ What was he talking about? Did he knew Maxim and I were coming. I took a step towards him, and he looked down with his face losing expression. Resigning himself. I could feel it. I searched his mind for what he was talking about. \That's you looking around isn't it?/

\Yeah, that's me. How did you know we were coming? Why didn't you warn them?/ Did he realize what was happening. Did Maxim mess up the hold?

\We? There's more than one of you? Man, did I cause a storm over there? And who was I suppose to warn? Other parts of myself?/ He must not understand what I am. What could he be referring me to? What is he saying I am? He laughed a little. \I'm dying./ He shivered, the words rocking his representation of his body. He fell to the surface of the void, holding his stomach. His knees buckling. My feet gravitate towards him, then a single message from the world came through. The kanga had reached a pool. Tiberium ready. Dying, but he's not dead yet. Even now, he held himself together. I... like him.

\Joel. I'm not here for the weird thing you think I am for. I'm here to save you. My brother and I raided the research station you were... guarding. We took control of you and used your tank to help the assault. Your friends are dead. Dead for their bullying. But, you're not them and you need a miracle to save you now. So... I intend to save you. Save your life. But, you can't turn back once I start./ Joel held his forehead as he hunched over. Slowly, softly, I could feel a constricting in his mind. Outside his mind, I lifted him into the pool. Clean waters, shade of the trees, covered and isolated from the rest of the grove. I do not remember why we made this place. Perhaps something within us told us to do this, to make this pool. The walls of the pool made with care for what I was about to do.

    1708612667046.png

I laid Joel down, letting him float with my hands guiding his back. His body limp as while I speak with him, he was far from lucid with his body. And as I cradled him in the pool, I heard his voice again, it was more of a moan. I returned to him in his mind. Where was he? My eyes focused, I couldn't see him. He moaned again. He's... below me. Laying on the surface of the void, on his back. In a moment, he laid underneath me. I got down and slowly held his shoulder. He rolled his head over, struggling to look over at me. I could feel his mind weaken. Fast approaching, his death. I looked into his eyes, quivering and sighing. He reached up for me, his arm weak and quaking. I lean him up, sitting down to support him on my chest. \Save me. Please. Save me... I don't even know your name, but if you can save me, please save me. I'll do whatever you want. I don't wanna die./

\Talasin. My name's Talasin. I promise. You're not going to die. Joel, I promise you./ Joel laid his head on my shoulder. His breathing ragged. I could feel him slowing down, getting weaker. I put my arms around him and returned to the real world. The pool ready, I could see the tiberium coalesce and feel it as it brewed under the rocky cove. Flowing from green and blue to the shimmering, glistening orange I remember from your memories. Multitasking. It came naturally. As I focused on Joel, the means to save him would come to me and be done. A reflex, an instinct. It was a lot to take in every time. Was it from my father? Or what I am now? But, that expansion, that reflex was not some deeper layer of me. It was me. Like a chorus of my voice. You were part of one momma. And it seems that is what it is. As if my will expresses itself in many ways. And through your memories, I've understood one way and the others remain there, unexplained. But, as they always been, being a part of both Maxim and I. Maybe one day, I will understand.

Not here. Joel needs me. And my hand pressed against his chest as the pool glowed orange with a fine spore-like dust. Coalesce complete. The cerebrate transformation has begun. Probes of tiberium flowed from my hand into Joel's body, one seeking into his heart. I felt a jolt. An automatic response. With a connection to his pain receptors. I could feel out his injuries. Feel out where his body was failing the most. Which was hard, considering everything was. His heart to be a major issue. Its muscles failing and his valves clogged by the various drugs he ingested. Among a terrible diet. Didn't seem like after his father abandoned him he received the best of meals, if enough to keep him energy stable. You always said mother that heart should be first in situations like these, but his stomach should be next. It scares me that you've come across this enough to know. Just how much did father do to them? Focus. I cleaned out his heart valve and let some probes mimic his heart rate to assist with pumping. Keep him alive as I guided the spores through his skin. Otherwise, it was pointless. His body so disfigured, I don't know what else would work. And with the drugs, it made any change dangerous to him. I remind myself that this is his only path to live. I shouldn't doubt my judgement. The tide of spores and clean water cascade into his skin, rushing over his broken body, feeding him, and giving all the nutrients he lacked for so long. I could feel more and more crystal form inside of his body. The probe in his heart retreated. His crappy pump heart was replaced with a stellar sonic heart. More and more probes retreated as the finer details came in. I could feel the tide move around in his skull, his eyes close as the tide reached his eyes. More time passes, but slowly, the process is complete and Joel's skin glows orange before returning to normal. No need for the spores to come out. They are apart of him now. And in a click, I felt him in our command lattice. Soon, he will be able to assist us in commanding the grove. Only a matter of time before Maxim notices...

Then, I will protect Joel until Maxim can understand. One of us now. One of our own. And someone who I will help us considerably. We both running everything ourselves has been okay, but it could be better. Joel can do that. He will need some time to adjust and get used to command. But, he can pick up the basics as he learns. We had a natural talent for it. So, maybe he will as well. But, all in time.

ROYAL MECHANISED REGIMENT

“While we were focussing on the situation in the US, Nod forces have made their way into both Ireland and France. We should forgo attempts to regain the eastern US coast to ensure we protect our own interests here.”

Carwyn viewed the holographic map of the world before him, the blue areas seeming smaller than they ever had before.

“It’s a difficult choice, we should be there for our brothers but ultimately if we were to lose the British Isles we’ll be no help to anyone.”

He pointed at the hologram and began to move and adjust it with his fingertips.

“The Irish still control the vast amount of the country, we should reinforce a counter attack to ensure that the Nod forces are not able to establish a strong foothold within the country. If we provide our heavy firepower we should be able to drive the Nod filth back into the water.”

"Cornelius! You should stop overburdening your body." A lady in a simple yet elegant dress called out. Cornelius wiped the sweat off his face with the towel hanging around his neck.

"Mother, I am in the middle of training." Cornelius was breathing heavily as he waved off his combat instructor who was his sparring partner.

"Well... I brought you treats." Arabelle, Cornelius' mother smiled as she gestured for the maids behind her to place the plate full of pastries in a nearby table. "I know your training, but I want you to eat them afterwards. It's gonna help you regain your energy!"

"But, mother-"

"No buts!" Arabelle insisted as Cornelius sighed helplessly. "Fine... I'll eat them... after the training..."

"Good boy." Arabelle rubbed her son's head who just willingly accepted it. "Don't be late for dinner too. You haven't been paying attention to time lately. I don't want to have the servants keep fetching you."

"I'm busy, you know I have an exam coming up in the Officer Training School. I can't let that stupid Liam outscore me!" Cornlius snorted as he remembered his rival in school and love - Liam Brighton. He can't wait to beat him up in the upcoming exam. In fact, he's gonna beg- err... request the supervising instructor to pit him again his rival.

"You boys and your meaningless rivalries." Arabelle sighed before leaning forward and whispering to her son, "Beat him up good."

Cornelius looked at his mother a bit shocked before laughing. Arabelle seeing her beloved son laugh also laughed with him. The servants smiled at the duo.

"By the way, Cornelius-" Before Arabelle could say more, they were shaken from the sound of a massive explosion. It didn't seem to be nearby but from the sounds, it seemed to be massive.

"What's going on?" Arabelle looked at her servants who was also looking at each other - also shaken. Victor, Cornelius' combat instructor approached the duo. "That explosion came from the city. There might be an attack. We should relocate to the nearest shelter."

The family guards quickly arrived to escort them out but Cornlius just stood there with a conflicted face. Arabelle, seeing the expression in her son's face asked, "Cornelius, what's wrong? Surely you are not thinking to go to the city center and fight?"

They could hear more explosions coming from the city and even jets were flying overhead. Their estate was located towards the edge of the city in a less populated area so they were a bit far from the chaos. However, this area was where the homes of high-ranking military and civilian officials were so it could be a possible target for attack.

"Mother, I might not be a fully-fledged officer of the GDI but I am still one of its agents! It is my duty to respond when I am neededd so yes, I must go and defend the peace of this city. Sergeant Victor, you should stay and guard mother."

"As you wish, Young Master. What about you? Do you want guards to escort you?" Victor asked but before Cornelius could answer, Arabelle interrupted them.

"Absolutely not, Young Man! I don't know why you are following in the steps of your father. You could lose your life! You will come with us and take shelter. I will have none of your-" boom!!! They heard a loud explosion and the sound of gunshots nearby.

"It must be them. They've reached the subdivision entrance. The guards won't last long against the enemies..."

Mission 2-C

The Arctic Dreadfleet

The ship was alive with activity all throughout it's many halls. Despite the lose of lies on multiple different ships during the battle within Japan, they still managed to not only cripple Naval support along the coasts of Japan but also the fact Kane himself had congratulated them from pulling in some of the attention from nearby sectors into one spot. The mere thought alone of being praised by Kane and being gifted with a powerful vessel only made the crew more escatic, they were being recognized for their efforts in the fight to securing the world under NOD control. If anything, this only fueled their fanatical enthusasim, working twice as hard. No spot in the ship was left unpolished, the navymen began to carry shells around in storage by themselves without the aid of machines, even the officers were busy with talk when it came to battle strategies.

And yet, sitting on his chair with a frown on his face was none other than the Admiral himself, a grumble echoing from his throat as he slouched down in the chair he was in and kicked his legs up and down as if he was nothing more than a bored child with nothing to distract him with. After all, he can't help it after seeing the results of the battle in Japan, it was far from the grand and seemingly impossible victory that he would've originally thought it as. Especially the fact that it required a kamikaze attack to blow up the navy base and even then, they didn't manage to defeat all the planes and ships there. He should've been proud to be recognized by the leader of the faction he was serving... and yet... he felt unsatisifed. His lust for a grand and spectacular battle where both sides attempted to outwit the other... was left unfulfilled. He was supposed to only provide the best, the greatest that Nod's navy has to offer... and yet, he could only give a small bark as he was resorted to sacrifice a ship serving under him to win a battle.

William let out an sigh as he sat up, cupping a glass of red wine in his left hand and moving it over to his lips to get a drink of the liquid... before moving it all the way back to gulp it all down. He certainly needed that drink. The admiral was just about to pour himself another drink before one of his officers walked over, giving a salute

"Admiral, Sir!"

Placing his cup down and swerving around in his seat, he properly sat upright and placed his hands onto the armrests of his chair.

"At ease, Officer... what is it that you require aid with?"

"Sir, we need you to confirm these orders."

As the Officer handed over a small tablet, William had accepted it and began to inspect it's contents. Of course, another reason as to his bad mood lately was the lack of oppurtunities when it came to missions, with all of them being majorly land focused. Without a chance to properly show himself, how was he supposed to try and aid in the NOD efforts directly? But at the very least, he had a few backup plans, mainly, providing indirect support to one of the war efforts, mainly creating a Naval Blockade around Ireland. After all, it's essentially the most he could do to try and help his fellows within Ireland and prevent the GDI from sending as much reinforcements as they can to Ireland. Or at the very least, damage them enough to make their efforts far more difficult. But William did grin when it came to the secondary orders being called, mainly the aid they shall be sending to towns and cities in Canada and not only reinforcing / convincing others to join NOD, but the very fact that it would make it even harder to drive out the influence NOD has in the region. And the dredging buisness shall help well when it comes to the lack of passive income within their group.

All it took was a simple returning of the tablet to confirm the orders, the officer already moving over to begin relaying orders to the other ships of the Dreadfleet, William turning around on his chair to look out the window yet again. Hopefully.. he'll be able to get some actual enjoyment sometime soon instead of being bored as he is now.

Royal Mechanized Regiment

Mission: SECRET

While the forces were on route via sea to Ireland, the Loch Ness Transport Fleet with Wyvern Air Support is intercepted by a NOD Fleet patrolling the Ireland waters to protect Nod Assets in this field of combat.

Intel alerts that this is known as The Arctic Dreadfleet, led by Admiral William.

Start Mission with 7 Loch Ness and 5 Wyvern
(Each One that Survives can give you a bonus to your upcoming Mission. If all Loch Ness are Lost, you are unable to participate in your original mission.)

Action 1: Administration System- Improve Interoperability of departments by creating a single administration system to cut through Red Tape

The Administration System seems to go pretty well. Departments gain better efficiency and coordination then they have had in years. Especially as the Mech side of things has over the years been shoved back into the corner.

They seem to find funds that they had never had thought they had before to allocate towards the war front.

CHOOSE ONE:
-Gain +1 Bureaucracy (This would bring you to 0)
- Gain an additional 500 MP
-For a Single Mission, gain an additional 1000 MP

Action 2: Production Improvements- Research Ways to improve production efficiency to decrease the unit cost for each mech

Working night and day, the research team tries to come up with ways of making the mechs cheaper, but still keep their strengths. They didn't want to sacrifice any of what made the Mechs of their faction. ANd they managed to come up with a few solutions.

CHOOSE ONE:
-Decrease the cost of each mech by 100
-Decrease the cost of a single mech type by 200. (To a minimum of 100)
- Gain a Hero Mech

[Together] Mission Action TBD

[Free] Stop Pylon Spending

[Free] Check-in on Beyond the Stars (Anything new?)

Action 1. [Talasin] Special Project:The First Cerebrate, Joel Aturnas; For all their lives, the twins have managed everything themselves. Done everything themselves. A new face, a new commander in the lattice of the grove would be adventurous, unknown. A lieutenant. It was natural and built into the hivemind for the formation of cerebrates. Didn't mean that the twins were hesitant to make one. Especially from another person they just met. But, the weight of Maxim's problem and the sympathy Talasin has for Joel dashes away the reservations. Talasin isn't sure how to save him without making him a cerebrate. With his drug abused and emaciated body, Joel has little time. So, if Talasin is to save him, then Joel needs to join the crew. Become the first of many friends. Have his life saved with renewed health in exchange for his help on many fronts. It made sense. He could be useful. And Talasin knows what his mother would want him to do. So, he does what needs to be done. Talasin uses the remaining free tiberium and brings Joel into the fold.

Resource Expenditure: 3 TP

Relevant Context: Mind controlled Nod tanks last mission. Forgotten Mission 1-A. Joel was part of one of the crews and while most of the crew was killed for the animals they were. Joel was not. His tank scraped. (If it matters, did crit for those rolls.)

With a large amount of Tiberium, entire vats worth of the stuff and psionic ability, the task went about to create another would could lead their forces.

A cerebrate who could control their forces in the field.

The task took days and days. It almost seemed like it wasn't going to work. That is until Joel emerged from the Tiberium a stronger man.

He no longer looked emaciated and on deaths door. Now, he looked like a strapping young man full of vitality.

Gain Joel The Cerebrate
Hero
Attack- 6d10
Once More With Feeling- Joel can have a single unit reroll 3 times per battle
A Greater Connection- When Joel leads from the front, the units under his command gain +1 to hit and +1 health

Action 2- [Maxim] Construct/Finish Structure: Complete the Mineshaft; The exploration of the underground went fairly well. But, to continue what he started, Maxim decided to use the money they got to procure supplies to complete the mineshaft. Allow the molen to continue their work with more support. Hopefully, the minerals could be used to feed tiberium or sold for money. Either was fine. Though the twins prefer tiberium growth for obvious reasons.

Resource Expenditure: 2 CP

The Mining goals much better than expected. They manage to hit a tiberium vein.

Choose one:
- Mine the Mine dry for 10 Tiberium
- Mine slowly for +1 TP a turn
- Sell the Mine for 6 CP

Comandante Pancrazio stood in his new office, staring outside as the construction vehicles slowly move to and fro, clearing out the wrecked hulks of vehicles. The base was mostly intact, and they had even managed to reclaim 4 GDI AA turrets. What luck! He held his hands behind his back, watching with a measure of pride as his units settled into their new forward operating base. It was nothing like their primary HQ back in Italy, but it would suffice. He even had memory foam installed on the couches. Or at least, he had... He turned a baleful gaze towards the young man standing before him, then at one of the couches, whose brand new memory foam cushions were irreparably damaged. Seated around the conferecne table in various chairs were his commanders, each one waiting idly for his input.

Pancrazio turned around and coughed softly, drawing their attention. "Fratelli, it is my distinct pleasure to give thanks for your commendable performance. In particular, Capitano Lorenzo stood far above anyone else, having accrued several kills, along with Capitano Alessio."

"That's bullshit!" Capitano Angelo argued. "We chose to attack from the cliff, so neither me nor Arpeggio could do anything!" Arpeggio said nothing, instead quietly taking a drink from his flask. "We will get to that later. For now, I introduce to you Segretario George. George here was tasked by me to find some valuable data. However, he found nothing. Worse, he...well, fratello, confess to your sin." The intern gulped, hesitantly speaking. "I-I accidentally d-damaged the Comandante's couch..."
"More than that, bastardo!"

"I accidentally d-damaged the Comandante's b-brand new patented m-memory foam c-cushions, i-imported f-from...from...."
"Fucking Paris you deficiente!" Pancrazio snapped angrily. "They were very expensive, and I just had them placed!" The Comandante took a deep breath and exhaled. "In light of this trangression, Segretario George here is hereby relieved of duty. In other words, licenziato! Get out of here!" George tried to plead, but there was no mercy in Pancrazio at this moment. With sullent steps, the intern slowly trudged out of the office. "I task these cretinos to do ONE simple thing and they horrendously fuck it up!" After a few more insults, the Comandante took a deep breath and calmed. "In either case, Capitano Angelo and Arpeggio, you will have your chance to shine, because we've received a brand new debrief from the Voice of Kane, the revered Brother Bartholomew." He tapped a button on the table, and a hologram flickered into existence, revealing the handsome visage of Bartholomew. "Congratulations, Commander..."
=======
After the briefing, Pancrazio nodded. "Never fear. Your hunger for battle will surely be satisfied." Whatever else they discussed about the mission was anyone's guess, but you can be assured they were confident in their plans.
======
After the Capitanos had left, Pancrazio pulled out his personal phone, answering a call. "Petrushka, have anything for me?" The Battaglione DID have its own intelligence gathering, believe it or not. It just...wasn't well developed. It was something lacking that Pancrazio hadn't gotten around to figuring out. But those in the Information gathering field sometimes did some astounding work. And Petrushka did deliver. "I understand. Patch it to my office." He hung up, then turned around, eyes glittering as he tapped the button on the office table. This time, another hologram popped up, revealing an entirely different individual. Captain Denver... Pancrazio involuntarily snarled in disdain. What a nuisance. "Great work, Commander..." After the video finished playing, Pancrazio inhaled, then exhaled. "So, it's like that, is it? You GDI cagne just don't know when to quit, do you?" He turned around, pressing a few more buttons on the table and paging comms. "Yes, Comandante?"
"Visionario Luigi, patch me to this region's Commander."
"...that place? Alright, done."

The line was open. Pancrazio coughed, staring into the small optical camera. "Comandante, I am here to advise you you will soon be targeted by GDI forces. I am forwarding the relevant information to your Operations Center. Do with it what you will, but do not disappoint Kane. Stave off the unruly dogs, and fulfill your duty. Glory be to Kane." And with that, he ended the transmission, swiping left and shutting down the table. "Things are moving so fast..." Pancrazio muttered, turning to gaze at a nearby wall. There, a larger than life painting of their leader Kane hung prominently, in all his glory.
"Does your all knowing sight see the outcomes of these fights, too?" He asked softly of the magnificent painting. "Give me guidance and glory, Reverant One."
=======
Lorenzo quietly exited the main building serving as their field HQ, approaching the large mech. "How is he?" He asked the technician, who was currently fiddling with some wires through an open maintenance hatch. "All fine! We took no casualties, and better yet, this bad boy barely has a dent in him!"
"Excellent. Get it up and running, we're gonna need it again."

"So soon?" The technician asked. Lorenzo quietly lit a cigarette, taking a drag from it and then exhaling softly, sending a cloud of smoke into the air, then offered the box to the technician. Hesitantly, the technician reached out and grabbed one, placing it in his mouth. He then leaned forward, allowing Lorenzo to flick open his lighter, lighting the cigarette. The two spent a few moments enjoying the flavor of the tobacco before Lorenzo spoke, this time much softer. "Kane is expecting much from us. We have the advantage. We must press forward." He turned around, watching the base's activity ramp up as they geared up for their next mission.

He watched the numerous infantry playing a large game of poker in the middle of the base, happily drinking and enjoying some well earned liberty from duties. After the near flawless victory shared between the Choir and the Battaglione, no one dared stop or interrupt their celebrations. "Glory be to Kane." The Technician intoned softly. Lorenzo laughed softly, taking another drag from the cigarette. "Glory be to Kane, indeed. May the GDI blood we spill satisfy him, and lead him further along the path to Ascension."

the operation in Ireland had been a rousing success the GDI forces were smashed by the combined efforts of the multiple commanders. central consensus laughed, he'd not seen such teamwork for ages, Perhaps just maybe there was unity now but the AI doubted it everyone had their compulsion and vices eventually they'd bubble up but hopefully it didn't interfere with their overall plans.

"hmm what do you think Sinclair? Will things go welll? I do hope so you've been around longer than I no?" He'd say with a small chuckle tho the AI seemed to be expressing some level of worry.

"oh well I'd not be so worried about that, so far no major.. deviants have formed though I would say that we have time before any fractures form.." they'd reply musing softly as he stared at a video screen.

"aaah I see then we should keep an eye out no?" Consensus would add in as it got other operation ready in the background

"no no my friend not yet we have people to free form the tyranny of GDI let us focus our energy outward before looking back the knife stay steady when the enemy is at the gates"

The Arctic Dreadfleet

Scene: Initiate Naval Blockade around Ireland to prevent GDI reinforcements to Ireland (Concluded in Discord- FAILURE)

Action 1: Spend 5 Credits in order to provide support (Such as aiding in construction efforts, providing food/weapons/water, etc) to Nod/Neutral aligned Towns/Cities in Canada in an attempt to gain support and reinforce Nod influence in Canada.

The propaganda along with the massive amount of supplies put into the towns in Canada went a long way towards further winning the support of the people. There were many that even wished to join up, if they were allowed. Technicians had ideas. Even Defense Contractors were willing to pitch in.

CHOOSE ONE:
-Gain 1 MP
- Gain a new Boat type
- Gain Additional Defenses in the Region

Action 2: Spend 2 Credits and use 1 Energy in order to build a Dredging Building with the Focus of Dredging up wrecks/parts/items from the ocean floor and either selling such to gain credits or repurpose for use.

The Dredging structure seems to go well at first. That is, until it begins its first dredging activity. It pulls up a MASSIVE WARSHIP of unknown origin. Pulling it up destroyed the structure in the process. But this strange Warship(?) seems fully in tact, but there seems to be absolutely no way to open it.

Damocles Airfleet

Scene: Mission 2-C (To be done on Discord)

Action 1: Research & Development: Iterate on the drones currently in the arsenal of the Damocles Air Fleet. The goal is to have [Tiberium Extracting Drone] that will hopefully be able to collect TP to support the research of the Air Fleet.

Allocated Resources: 1 TP, 1 CP

The Research is a HUGE success. The Drones are capable of working overtime and gaining even more TP than originally anticipated.

CHOOSE ONE:
Gain 3 TP a turn
Gain 1 TP a turn and BOOST THE Drones attack capabilities
Gain 1 TP a turn and Improve the Drone’s hacking abilities

Action 2: Develop a Cloaking System for the Entire Airfleet

The Cloaking system doesn’t go as well as they had hoped. It ends up being a MASSIVE DRAIN on the power plants and can only work on the Capital Ship. Using the Cloak costs 4 EP and while cloaked, is unable to attack.

Turn 2

Babalu sat atop a few plush pillows within the chamber of the Mystic's shrine , the red and black banners of Nod emblazoned on the walls and ceilings alongside African trinkets, waiting for the swirling haze of smoke from his hookah and the hypnotic rhythms of drums to seduce him into a trance. In all the other chambers, La Mula Muti's mystics underwent their own visions, dolling out their wisdom to the countless visitors that visited this upscaled opium den. Within Morocco, many such dens existed for those who wanted escape and respite for the chaos of the Tiberium infested world thanks to the generosity of Babalu.

The Commander inhaled deeply the Straitjacket from his hookah, a drug infamous for its ability to unravel the mind but he surrendered himself to its embrace. Yet, unlike the fate that befell Umagon, the Forgotten hero driven mad by its influence, Babalu was no stranger to the intoxicating allure of Tiberium-laced substances thanks to the true cure of La Mula Muti research, the Tiberinus Solution.

As the drug coursed through his veins, Babalu's senses were heightened, every colour and noise echoing in to the depths of his consciousness. The air was thick with the scent of exotic spices and the tang of Tiberium, mingling with the smoke of various substances. In this surreal atmosphere, he felt a presence, a whisper in the recesses of his mind.

Eshu, the Trickster, manifested before him, cloaked in the guise of a well-dressed man adorned with an African mask. His wooden eyes gleamed with mischief as he watched Babalu fall into the labyrinth of his drug-induced vision. Babalu stared wide eyed, doing his best to focus on his most trusted advisor.

Eshu stood tall, his form striking yet ethereal against the backdrop of shifting smoke and shadows. His mask, a masterpiece of African artistry, loomed large upon his visage, adorned with intricate patterns of black and red that seemed to dance in the kaleidoscope of colour of Babalu's intoxicated state. His suit, crisp and immaculate, was a stark contrast to the chaos that surrounded them, its pristine white fabric reflecting the enigmatic allure of the Trickster.

"Welcome home, brother" Eshu's voice boomed in Babalu's ears, though it was naught but a whisper, weaving through the tendrils of smoke and distant drums. "Come for more wisdom?"

Babalu nodded his head absently, his tongue sitting uncomfortably between this teeth. Eshu stifled a laugh. "You, Babalu, have done great things. You have cured the sick, profited from the weak and have strengthened your hold across the world"

The God's tone was mocking as he listed out the Commanders achievements, but Babalu was not present at that moment, visiting within the four walls of his mind every notion, the scenery morphing around him into shifting locales and various people. "But now, brother, you must strike while the iron is hot, and go even further. Deeper into France, and Canada"

Babalu found himself transported to the streets of French Canada, where the whispers of Nod sentiment hung heavy in the air. The familiar red and black banners fluttered defiantly, a symbol of the Brotherhood's influence in this distant land.

"But... the... Prophet.. " Babalu slurred, biting deep into his own tongue under the sway of the drugs.

The Trickster chuckled, his laughter echoing like distant thunder. "Do not worry Babalu. Everything is in hand"

Babalu smiled dimly, his eyes rolling into the back of his head....

3rd Armored Infantry 'Argonauts' Division

≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡

Xavier dismounted the dropship, his armor melted and fused to the point he was likely going to need to be cut out of it later, but that was a problem for later. The battle for New York had just ended, and ended in a GDI victory as was inevitable. But still.. It wasn't enough. He could feel it lurking in his chest, that rage, that resentment, coiled around the core of grief he was not able, or willing, to process. The rage would keep him going. Tempered and honed, forged into a fine point, something cold and strong.. Let it temper his will. Let it guide his hand, let it guide their actions, let their broken and shattered bodies be the salve that soothed his broken heart. At least, for now. Until NOD has been beaten back to the shadows, hiding under the bed where they belong, then.. And only then, would he sit down and let himself break, shatter into a million pieces never to be put together again.

As his heavy boots fell on the concrete, Xavier allowed himself to breath, the helmet supplying him with recycled, filtered air, but still, somehow, it was refreshing. He was back 'home', or, well, as close as he had these days. He closed his eye, his tiberium one never truly shutting, and tried to draw in this moment, this fleeting instant of peace. The sound of the dropships engines slowly cooling, the sound of heavy armored boots around him as his men disembarked, it was the sound of victory. The sound of his boys and girls making it back home to see their friends and families, to know that the people they saved would get to do the same. His eye snapped open as he herd a strange sound, the furious light pattering of parade shoes on the tarmat, storming towards him, in all her short fury, was Lieutnant Cho, who he noted, had found time to finally tuck in all the lose wisp of hair back into her ponytail, her uniform still a bit dischevled but otherwise looking like the prim and proper communication liasion she was.

"Sir," Cho said as she snapped a salute, her dark eyes trailing his armor.. How broken, melted and fused it all was, her mouth tightened as she clenched her jaw.

"Speak freely, Lieutenant," Xavier said as he returned the salute, or tried to, the fused shoulder joint refused to allow him to lift his hand high enough, but he steeled himself for the barrage of complaints.

"Good work sir," Cho said as she lowered her hand and from.. somewhere pulled out a large stack of papers, "I have the reports for you."

"That's it? All you wished to say?" Xavier said, unable to hide his confusion and surprise.

"You came back alive, as you said you would sir," Cho said although her knuckles were white as she gripped the papers, so she was certainly biting back a lot.. But if she wasn't going to say, he wasn't going to pry her complaints from her lips.

"I have, now, I heard the other battle went well and were able to recover the whearabouts of the Baron? Send the information to my desk so I can draw up battleplans so we can cut the head off this snake," Xavier said, the servos in his armor groaning as his hands tightened into fist, already imaginging what it would feel like when he squeezed that worm's head so hard it popped like a tomato.

"About that sir, I ordered them to take other actions," Cho said, while she was still doing her best to appear tacturn, Xavier could see the slightest hint of a smile on the edge of her lips.. She was enjoying this part and had no doubt looked forward to it for some time.

"What actions," Xavier said, his voice terse.

"I instead ordered them to interview the civilians to see if any had skills we can make use of," Cho said, her eyes almost dancing, "And I found a young man who is able to organize our sup-"

Xavier stepped forward, invading her personal space as he loomed over her, "We could have cut the head off the snake, crippled NOD, and instead you-"

"May I introduce, our new Warrant Officer, Ronald Higgins," Cho said as she stepped back and motioned for someone to step forward.

Xavier blinked in surprise and shock as a man stepped forward, a man who had seemingly been standing there the entire time and he had not noticed his presence once. Short cropped hair, wire rim glasses, a dirty sweatervest that had clearly seen better, non-wartorn days, over slacks stepped forward and offered a shaking clammy hand, "H-H, I mean, Hello Sir! I'm Ronald, but you can just call me Ron, um, if you want, that is."

Xavier turned his helm to look at Cho for a second, willing his glare to somehow penetrate its metallic confines to strike the woman down, but she seemed impervious to his whims, the barely held smile now breaking into a full grin as she took relish in Xavier's impotent rage.

"It is a pleasure, Warrant Officer, have you ever served?" Xavier asked as he gently gripped the mans hand and gave it a single shake.

"Yes! Well, um, to pay for college, but its been awhile, I'm currently, or was, an accountant and I'm skilled i-" Ron began to list various systems and programs he was well versed in, none of which made any sense or difference to Xavier, man might as well have been speaknig mandarin for all the good it did, "B-But! I've already been working on streamlining our acquistions and getting out current stock in order and I think we've made a lot of progress!" The small, almost bird like man, seemed to have gained just a bit of confidence when he talked about this area that he clearly had such passion for, but now that he had said his piece, he seemed to shrink once more into the shy and unconfortational person he naturally was.

"Excellent work," Xavier said although he had no idea if it was or not, but it never hurt to show encouragement, Xavier gently patted the man's shoulder, "Glad to have you with us Warrant Officer, please, carry on."

"O-Oh! Yes! Of course! Right away!" The man paused as he tried to salute and also bow, per the local Korean customes, all at once, his face beat red as he decided to turn on his heel and scamper off, no doubt likely to beat himself up over that slip up for the rest of the day.

"Lieutenant.." Xavier growled now that they were alone again, although he took a moment to double check that there were no more people like Ron who could somehow remain unknown standing in the middle of nowhere, "We need to talk about your actions."

"Whatever do you mean, Commander? I was left in command and so I commanded as I saw fit," Cho said, something alight in her eye that looked far too pleased with herself for his liking.

His hands opened and closed as he released slow breaths before an idea crawled through his mind, "Fine work lieutenant, truly, I think in light of your remarkable skills and talents, I have a new task for you."

"Sir?" Cho said, her smile slowly slipping as she did not like his new found joy.

"How do you feel about public speaking?" Xavier said, his face contorted into a great smile, thankfully hidden by his helmet, as she managed to turn paler then snow.

≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡

Xavier lowered his new helmet over his head right before the door to his office swung open with such force it nearly punched a hole in the wall behind it, "Sir! I'm really not comfortable with this!" Lieutenant Cho's voice entered a moment before she did, once again, it seemed a few wisp of hair had managed to come loose from her ponytail. He made a mental note to notice it in the future, was a good gauge of how frazzled or upset she was.

"And your concerns are on record, Lieutenant," Xavier said as he moved his gauntlets over his desk, pushing aside reports and orders that still needed to be reviewed and signed, "But this is something we must do."

"Surely we could use the resources for something else? Protecting civilian convoys? Put in requisition orders for those new Artemis Armor that can act as mobile artillery? We are low on power, surely we could use our time to build up our infrastructure?" She said, each suggestion punctuated by a folder she placed on the table no doubt carrying details about how to best go about each one, likely compiled by the new Warrant Officer who seemed hard at work.

"We could, but that isn't what is needed. The people are scared and desperate, the exact type of people NOD lures into the fold. They need to be reassured they we are still here, still fighting. That, just like every time NOD has tried in the past, they will be defeated. Peace will be restored that, when they call for help, we will answer. To trust in one another and to not believe the lies.. We can win on the field, but we need to win in the homes as well," Xavier said as he neatly piled her offered files into a stack and pushed them into a far corner of his desk.

"Surprised to hear that from you," Cho said, her voice quiet and almost bitter.

"I did learn some things from my mother," he replied softly.

There was a small pause, an awkward tension fell over the small office as Cho was torn between her annoyance, fear of speaking and sympathy, "Sir, I-"

"I know, you're scared, but I need you to do this. You're the only one that can. I-" Xavier paused as he motioned to himself, "Am not the one they need to see. Without my armor, I'm hideous and will do more to boost NOD propaganda then any of those sycophants, in my armor, I represent military force, strong maybe, but not the person you want telling you things are going to be okay. You have to do this, I believe in you."

"Because you have no other choice?" Lieutenant Cho said with a small smile, the hint of bitterness was still there, but she squared her shoulders which.. didn't make her seem any larger or imposing, "I can see why they like you."

"The perks of being the commanding officer," Xavier said, the servos in his armor whining as he offered a shrug, "If they don't like me, they have to wait until I'm out of earshot to complain... Hasn't stopped you though."

"Ha ha, so funny," Cho said as she took a deep breath, "So how are we doing this?"

Broadcasted message on all emergency, open and private channels that could be hacked by GDI

A korean woman with a long black ponytail sat behind a wooden desk. On the walls were pictures of other soldiers in the unit as well as a large symbol of GDI above her chair. The woman was small, almost mousey, her hands were crossed in front of her and her shoulders were squared and set as if she was about to head into battle, "Hello, I am Lieutenant Mi-Sun Cho of the GDI, currently serving within the 3rd Armored Infantry, Argonaut Division. I am reaching out to each and everyone of you to say, we are with you."

Cho unclasped her hands and gently set them on the desk, "I know you're scared, NOD has returned and has launched terrorist attacks all around the globe. You're worried about friends, your families, your jobs, your security, your livelihoods. I am too. But we are still here. We, I, will do everything in my power to protect you. To keep you safe. But I can't do it alone. I'm not asking you to fight, or risk your lives, you must stay safe because you are the future that we are protecting. What I ask is that you look out for each other. That you help one another in these trying times. That you share what little have with those who have nothing. That you open your doors to people who have no home. Alone we are scared, but together we are strong. Together we are one, that was the idea that founded the GDI. All nations of all people coming together to build a better world. At times we have forgotten that, but I believe with all my heart, that it is an ideal worth preserving. Not built towards the vanity of one man, but to the ideals of everyone."

As her voice trailed off, Cho took a deep breath and looked deep into the camera, her dark eyes drawing people into their depths, "In time, I have no doubt NOD will be sending their own transmissions to copy this. I will not tell you to close your ears, but I will ask you to keep one thing in mind that no matter what NOD tells you, their actions have always spoken the loudest. They kill those who disagree. They steal aid and pretend it is they who are wronged. They indoctrinate young men and women into their cult and ask them to murder their families.. But we've beaten them every single time, and we will beat them again. For those members of NOD who see this, I beg you to take a moment to consider what you've been doing in the name of a single man. These people you've hurt, these lives you are ruining, is it truly justified? Step away from those that tell you what you must do, must believe in, must die for, and think for yourself. Look within and decide what you feel is just. If you doubt, even for a moment, of what you are doing then I urge, no, I beg of you to stop. To lay down your arms and join hands with me. Let us truly build a better world. Not for 'Kane'. But for all of us. Every day you have a choice. To do the right thing. To be a better person then you were yesterday. I just hope you realize that before the end."

Cho intertwined her fingers, "I want to thank each and everyone of you for listening to me. The 3rd Infantry is fighting and we will keep fighting until everyone is safe, until the world is back at peace, until the idea of a better world that GDI was founded upon is made reality. If you need help, look to your neighbors, band together, be that first step towards change and when it looks bleak, when you're alone and afraid, I want you to remember one thing. We are still here."

“Huh. I don’t suspect that’s something you see every day.”
“Told ya it couldn’t be all that bad.”

“Fucking GDI,” Sam pinched the bridge of her nose, already feeling a migraine coming on, and the late hour is doing her no favors. “What do you mean we sent them two units of product for no payment?”

The three men seated around the table with the doctor are unable to make eye contact, suddenly very interested in this week’s supply report lying in front of them. Eventually one of them, Jacobi, pipes up, “It just kind of, slipped through, Sam. Frank and the rest of the lads got moved into quarantine last Monday, so there wasn’t really anybody to check what was going out until we finished inventory this morning. Can’t we just, I don’t know, call it in?”

Sam sighs, the Tiberium was shipped out days ago, and if there’s one thing GDI can be trusted on, it’s that the Tiberium isn’t even available anymore. Greedy bastards. “Odds are it’s long gone, all we can do is clarify the terms and renegotiate. It’s what we get for trying to keep our heads above water,” if they had just received something in return it wouldn’t have stung quite so badly, but what good was a contract that was sure to get torn in half in the name of the ‘greater good’ by the year’s end?

She flips through the report again until she finds what she’s looking for, the status on the mining site. “Even if they throw a fit, it won’t do them much good. Like it or not, we can’t afford to send out shipments for nothing every cycle and still be operational. Every day more folks get pulled off of full-rotation, we have just as many folks stamped with quarantine now as we have on full-rotation. We’re gonna have to make a choice soon,” she trails off, flipping through more pages of the report, as if somewhere in the numbers that sit far too low there’ll be an easy solution.

“We need to keep the site going, Sam. I know it’s not exactly standard but…” it’s Maxwell now, the small, mousy man piping up from his corner of the table, “If the site shuts down, that’s it for most of us. No place to go when you’re already at the end of the line, and you said it yourself, half the folks here can’t even make a proper living in the blue zones anymore.” The other men are silent, but it’s clear from their faces that they’re in grim agreement.

“We’ll…” Same flip, flip, flips through the report. A dire picture. “We’ll try to ramp up production while we still can, see if we can’t get somebody to send us some decent fucking supplies if we wave enough Tiberium in front of them. We can’t get people back up on their feet with all this ‘promises’ crap.” There’s a murmur of agreement at that at least, and Sam flips over to a blank spot of the report and starts scrawling notes, “And somebody needs to tell those God Damn Imbeciles that if they want somebody to do their dirty work and pull these blasted rocks out of the ground, they need to pay them.”

The three of them smile at that. After all, how much worse can it get when you’re already at the end of the line?

Czechoslovak Legion
2km away from Prague with an armoured convoy
"Private Wojtek! We gotta move, where are you?"
"Coming Sargent."
private comes running from the treeline zipping up his fly
"Jesus private, what took you so long?"
"Sorry Sargent."
"Well get back on the humvee and let's get moving"
"Yes sir!"

climbs into the gunners position and humvee continues moving
10 mins later

"Jesus Wojtek you haven't even drank anything, get a move on"

Wojtek returns and engine noises are heard

"Uh Sargent, I thought we were the only patrol active in the area."

"We are. GET ON THAT DAMN TURRET!"

Private gets on the turret and the Sargent alongside 2 soldiers take positions besides the humvee and wait

After 2 minutes a column of 5 Humvees headed by an APC under the banner of a nearby GDI unit.

"Stand down!"
Sargent approaches the convoy as it slows to a halt
"Who are you and why are you here"

"Headquarters was unable to contact you via radio and so they ordered us to fit you with a new radio"

"Do you have proof?"

proof is shown and they go to Prague where the radio is fit and we discover the situation in the outside world

Actions

Action 1:
Intervention

After discovering the situation across Europe, Karel Janoušek has decided that it is time for him to intervene. He has decided to send an expeditionary force into France to contain the NOD presence there.
He will send out the I, IV, V and X Centuaries alongside the III and II Auxiliary cohorts to assist them.

Action 2:
Defence

He has also decided that, given the ease of which GDI positions fell across the fronts, that Prague's defences are inadequate. As such he has decided to put his new civilian engineers to work alongside his military ones to devise a new defensive system and construct new fortifications around the city.
