Joseph frowned deeply taking a shaky breath when he saw the blood on her arm "Shit! Shit! I'm so sorry Carmen. I didn't mean to." He said before he rushed to her side to help her up and take her to the bathroom "Let me clean you up."

Max smiled softly as she found a small pond taking a few photos before she sat down. She looked around taking in the sites before her. It was a shame to think no one in this town knew how beautiful it was up here.

She frowned and let him do what he needed to feel better, just sitting on the toilet seat. “You were having another nightmare. And your fever is getting worse.” She mumbled as she let him clean her up. “Would you please let Danny take a look at you?”

Serge was almost finished with his morning escapade when he caught her scent and headed in that direction, chuckling when he found her in one of their secret hideaway spots. “Are you stalking me now?” He asked her, chuckling when it made her jump.

Joseph cleaned her wounds and bandaged them quickly. He sighed heavily abd shook his head some "There is nothing he can do for me. Its...I'm not sick in a way he can cure." He explained

Max nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard a voice behind her. She whipped her head around and gave a small laugh seeing the frenchman "Oh Serge, I um...I could say the same to you." She said wondering why he would be up there "I thought no one came up here? Atleast my roommate said the towns people don't come up here."

She frowned and just watched him. “Joe… please… just to put my mind at ease. I know it’s not rational but please.” She begged him quietly, leaning forward into him and holding him tightly.

He chuckled some. “They don’t… do I seem like I follow what the rest of them think?” He asked her and sat near her, taking a swig of his water. “There’s wolves all around here.” He told her smiling, “not too bad during the day but definitely not safe at night.”

He gave a heavy sigh but nodded wrapping his arm protectively around her "Alright love, alright." He said softly kissing the top of her head repeatedly "I love you." He said softly

Max gave a small nod watching him some "Well I don't plan on making any late night trips." She said before smiling as a deer came by the pond to drink "Oh! This will be a lovely shot." She murmured as she pulled her camera out and took some quick photos right before the deer ran off

She frowned and gripped at his t-shirt until she pulled away a little "You should take a shower.... You've been sweating all night." She mumbled, gently cupping his face for a moment before getting up and heading downstairs, frowning when nobody else was up, finally seeing Danny get there "Who is meant to be up and doing breakfast?" She asked him frowning. "Cause there's no one here."

He sat and chatted with her a while longer before glancing down at his watch "Shit! Shit shit shit!" He muttered, "I have to go I'm late." He smiled at her and got up quickly, running off without another word

Danny frowned a bit and groaned some "Frenchie.." he muttered before starting to pull shit out to make food "How is he?" He asked her frowning as he noticed the bandage on her arm "Did he do that to you?"

Max chatted with him some more before he had to leave "Oh okay, well I'll see you around!" She called as he started to rush off. She shrugged softly at how odd that was and made her way back into town

She frowned and shrugged. “Kind of… he was having a nightmare. I tried to help and he lashed out soon as I touched him but he was asleep he didn’t mean to.” She explained quietly. “I’ve told him to come ask you to check him over. Just for my peace of mind that he’s not actually sick sick outside of all this crap.” She mumbled, looking up when Serge got back and just shook her head. “I’ll see you later.” She told them, heading out.

Serge rushed inside and looked up, looking like a deer in the headlights when he saw Danny and carmen there, waiting tik she left before turning to Danny. “Here I’ll do it. Sorry I got caught up on the border.” He muttere.

Danny gave a heavy sigh but nodded "Alright I'll look him over." he said softly to her giving a small smile "We'll figure this out alright?" He said before she made her way out. He looked over at Serge frowning a bit "Yeah yeah just get breakfast made French. You gotta start taking fucking responsibility, with the way shit is going we need you here as a leader." He told him seriously before he went off to start waking the others.

He frowned and and shook his head, muttering in French under his breath about all the things he’d like to do to Danny’s face but soon let his mind wander back to max and he relaxed off, smiling to himself.

Danny made his way to carmen and Joseph’s room last, knocking on the door and opened it frowning some seeing Joseph sat on the floor “hey, hey, you okay?” He asked him, crouching in front of him.

Joseph look up at Danny as he came in shaking his head some "Too much...she's....pushing too much." He said gripping his head some "I'm trying so hard to stop it.." he muttered just as Carmen came into the room again

-2 weeks-
Serge got himself ready for the evening, double checking in the mirror and grinned to himself. For the first time he had actually planned to meet max at the bar rather than just appearing out of nowhere. He knew for certain that she was his mate now and everyone he got to see her just confirmed it more.

Carmen woke up from her nap in an empty bed, frowning some. She’d been a little under the weather for the past week or so, losing more and more grip on Joseph but the past couple of days had taken a nose dive. He kept disappearing at random times and she felt more and more like he just wasn’t going to come back.

Max looked herself over once more in the mirror before heading to the bar. She was excited to see Serge officially tonight. She had seen him quite a bit the past few weeks and it made her always so happy to see him, even with Lana's protests.

Joseph stood on their balcony outside smoking his third cigarette. Things had been bad lately, he was slowly loosing his grip on this curse and it was scaring him. He didn't want to hurt Carmen no matter how badly Cassandra was telling him to in his head.

She wandered out there after getting up, just in some sleep shorts and a bra, wrapping her arms around his waist. “Talk to me…. Before I lose you…. Who is she and why does she do this to you?” She asked him quietly. At this point it was only a matter of time.

He arrived just after her and headed in, smiling once he spotted her at the bar, “Bonsoir ma Cherie!” He murmured, taking her hand and kissing the top of it like always. “What would you like?” He asked her quietly

Joseph took a long drag of his cigarette not even looking at her just staring ahead of him. "I thought she was my mate.." he muttered before giving a heavy sigh "She cursed me into thinking she was my mate. We were inseperable and I thought it was because our bond was so strong." He explained before taking another drag of his cigarette "She convinced me that humans were leeches of the world, that we needed to take them out or make all of them like us. Most humans reject the change, she wanted to start testing to make sure they didn't. The first ones were adults and then they started on the children. She had me take them and then kill them if they weren't cooperating or rejecting the change." He explained before taking a shaky breath "She finally got tired of me after I started refusing to do her work."

Max smile widely at him and blushed as he kissed her hand "Hey there, just a margarita on the rocks for me." She said sweetly to him. Once he came back she took his hamd in hers smiling more "How have you been? I haven't seen you around in a couple days."

She frowned and just pressed her face into his back, listening quietly and holding him tight. “I’m gonna find you. And when I do cause I know she’ll be there. I’m going to rip her head from her body. Cause I will not have her take you from me like that.” She mumbled, kissing his shoulder, turning him to face her. “I love you.” She murmured to him, frowning as things went a little blurry for a second and she stumbled to the side, catching herself on the balcony. The more she lost him the worse she was getting and there seemed to be nothing either of them could do

Serge sighed a little and ordered their drinks. “Things have been hard. I told you I live with some friends. We all share a place. Saves rent money… a friend of mine is very unwell and it’s very how you say… stress.” He told her but led her to a booth once they had their drinks. “How was your interview with the newspaper?” He asked her

Joseph put out his cigarette before turning to look at her. He gave a heavy sigh and nodded softly "I'm so sorry my love..." he said softly. He reached forward to catch her as she stumbled taking a deep breath "I'm trying...I'm trying to fight this." He said to her as he pulled her close kissing the top of her head repeatedly.

Max frowned softly as she sat with him "I'm sorry to hear that. My roommate has been acting off as well. Been cooped up in her room a lot." She explained before shrugging softly "It went well, I'm not sure if they're interested though. My work didn't seem to be the type the would like."

She frowned but nodded. “I know love I know.” She murmured and kissed his cheek, “I need to sit down.” She mumbled and leaned on him to get back into their room.

He frowned and nodded, playing with her hands while they spoke.

Joseph gave a small nod and helped her inside and to their bed "You need anything?" He asked softly as he pushed some hair from her face

Max sat with him for a bit before her liquid courage started to take over "You wanna get out of here? Maybe go to my place?" She asked softly biting her lip as she watched him

She shook her head, biting her tongue from saying that she needed him back. She knew this was hurting him too but there was only so much more she could take "Actually... Just sit with me?" She asked him quietly "You don't have to talk... Just sit with me?" She asked him quietly.

Serge chuckled some as he watched her "You my dear are drunk... I will escort you back to your place but no funny business." He told her smiling and helped her up, taking her out of the bar and followed her lead "You know you are the first woman I have been this close with in a very long time... I mean ten to twelve years." He smiled

Joseph frowned softly as he listened to her giving a small nod "Yes I can do that beautiful." He whispered before moving to lay with her "I love you beautiful." He said softly as he traced patterns in her arms

Max pouted some but gave a small nod "Fine, I'll take that." She said as she made her way out with him. She blushed a deep red as she heard him "You're the first man I've been this close to in years as well." She said softly going to her car. As she took him up to her place she started to cling a bit to him just wanting to be closer to him

He chuckled a little and supported her up the stairs to the apartment, "You're gonna have to wait til you're sober to get closer. The people here already think I'm weird... Just waiting for an excuse to hunt me." He scoffed, helping her use her keys to get in and then to her room, "Get changed... I will wait out here I promise you... But you will not be comfy if you fall asleep in this." He smiled, kissing her gently and guided her to her room before waiting, looking around the place. Something about it seemed so familiar until he glanced into the other bedroom and felt his heart sink to his feet, right at the same time Max came out of her room. "Hey... Hey we need to go.... Right now." He told her, looking panicked as he picked her up and carried her over his shoulder, using as much strength as he neeeded to keep her pinned to him so she couldn't get down

Danny came up and knocked on the door an hour later, frowning some, "Hey... I got her some painkillers and some lemsip, just make it like tea... It's great stuff." He told Joseph, setting it down on their dresser, "We're still looking. We haven't given up man... None of us want her back in this hell hole." He muttered.

Max laughed lightly as she came out in her PJs an over sized shirt and night shorts "Serge what are you doing put me down?" She teased hitting his back gently. She frowned though feeling his grip tighten on her making her sober up a bit "Serge put me down. Now please!" She said more sternly this time

Joseph nodded some and thanked Danny as he gave him things to help Carmen "Thank you Danny. Listen if....if something should happen...you take care of her okay?" He mumbled before starting on the lemsip.

He shook his head "I can't do that... I'm so sorryl... Hold on tight." Hen told her quickly before he started running, heading straight for home, "I'm very aware that you think I am taking you to kill you in the woods I promise I am not! I am taking you to safety! S'il vous plait just trust me!" He begged her, making it to the house in record time, barging into the living room and finally set her down "Hey! Hey! Meeting! I need a pack meeting!" He shouted through the house.

Danny nodded and frowned "I hope it doesn-" He cut himself off when he heard a crash downstairs followed by Serge yelling "What the hell does he want now?" He muttered, growing more concerned when it was soon followed by Charlie yelling and he headed downstairs, leaving Joseph to it for now.

Max screamed and thrashed against him as he continued to go "Serge stop!" She yelled whimpering as he continued to keep a grip on her. She frowned as they were taken into the old mansion in the woods "Serge what the hell is going on?!" She yelled frowning more when she heard others yelling

Joseph frowned when he heard yelling downstairs and a human scent come in "What the fuck is going on?!" He growled pushing past and going downstairs "Why the fuck is there a human in our house?!" He yelled feeling himself start to loose his grip.
