Futuristic Brain Burger

The moment he saw the car Hunter took refuge behind a parked sudan, SCAR already out and trailing the car. He didn't fire, but was tempted to if he saw any weapons. His army camo could be seen from the car barricade, but knowing the people were probably bandits, it didn't matter what he was from.

Noah rolled his eyes at the speech, it reminded him of his father a bit too much. Skylar let out a small laugh as she placed a hand on Noah. She knew how much it reminded her of their father and it saddened her a bit since he was no longer here. Even if Noah didn't show it, he hated the fact that he was gone, despite their pretty bad relationship.

"Going to need a little more commitment then just a couple military phrases." He wasn't lowering his gun, not just because someone thought they have the voice of an officer. Hunter flipped on his red dot sight, letting the reticle trail on the back of the drivers head.

Getting irritated Logan reverted to using the commanding voice he had used when he was disciplining a soldier from his military days.

"Soldier I swear if you do not lower that weapon I will lower your face to the pavement now do you understand me? Drop the weapon now!"

Hunter was at least drawn back by the sudden outburst, but remained slight bearing as he lowered the weapon. "Sir I meant no disrespect." He was now just a survivor, but he was still in the military and he would act as such.

Belinda Dawn ripped her combat knife through a zombie's skull from behind, running desperately away from the three other zombies who had surrounded her. They were following her and making no hurry about it. They never made any hurry about anything, didn't have to. They had all eternity after all. Huffing quietly, she climbed up a tree further down the street, sitting on a limb and waiting for them. They saw her and made the strange noises of the undead as they reached the bottom of the tree. This was her chance. They weren't terribly smart; this had worked more than once, and she was confident it would now.

As the three were grunting oddly at each other, she forced herself to jump from the tree limb, landing on the back of one of the zombies and splitting the rotten contents of its head in two. Managing to land on her feet, crouched, she fingered her karambit with her left hand, slashing the leg of the second closest zombie. It wouldn't bother it, but at least it would mess with its balance for the second it took to spring up and twist the combat knife between its eyes. One more. She hopped backwards, facing it for a moment. It came lumbering towards her, groaning hungrily. Yanking her push dagger out of its little sheath, she moved in close, using it to knock the creature's arms away from her with her left hand. With her right, she dug a deeper hole into its ear canal.

She panted and did a thorough self-check for any bites, as always. And as always, she realized almost in disappointment that she was unscathed. Wiping the reddish, greenish, black goo from her knives on her very dirty shirt, she sheathed them again. Belinda looked down at her hands, covered in the same disgusting substances her knives had been covered with, before wiping them. She always looked first, to make sure she never forgot who she was. Quickly, she made her way further down the street. She was unfamiliar with the place, as she never stayed in the same town for very long. There was the sound of a few shots, and she hesitated. She drew a little closer, cautiously. She always tried avoiding highly populated areas, partially because that usually meant more walkers as well, but partially because she didn't trust herself near them anymore. She hadn't spoken a word in weeks now.

A sharp voice rang out, and she flinched at its severity. "Soldier I swear if you do not lower that weapon I will lower your face to the pavement now do you understand me? Drop the weapon now!" It wasn't addressed to her, at least. She was no soldier, and wasn't raising a weapon, but it still put her nerves on edge, and she inched closer warily. When she was in sight of them - two men, a woman, and... a boy - she stopped, not daring to move a step closer.

Logan stepped out of the car, replacing his weapons on his back and looked over at the other man.

"Using a .45, Soldier do you have some kind of death wish or are you just stupid?"

He asked, he knew some people wouldn't like this treatment but he knew this was how he had to be. Officers had to be set apart from the enlisted and this was how he went about it.

"Are you healthy or infected?"

Rylee heard gunshots and shouting, as well as the normal soft groaning of the undead. This did not faze her, it was the norm ever since the world went to shit. She lightly wondered if she should go see what the commotion was about, but she decided against it. People were so hostile nowadays, they'd put a bullet in your brain before you could even say hello.

She came across a parking garage. "Bingo." A smirk came across her lips and she headed inside, jumping up to slap the sign that signaled how tall the vehicle had to be to enter the garage. There were a couple of cars here and there, some messed up beyond repair, as well as some undead. Rylee had knifed the undead that came up to her, not wanting to use her gun. The gun would just attract more of those walking dead and that was not ideal.

Even if I don't find what I'm looking for, I hope there are at least some things of use here... She thought as she pulled her blade out of the undead's skull, letting it drop to the floor with a thud, and continued making her way to the upper levels of the car garage.

"No sir! It was the pistol I grabbed, so I'm stuck with it." Hunter was still behind the cover, not wanting to move what so ever. Once he saw the man step out of the vehicle though, he stood up slightly. He was a soldier, but this wasn't a military operation, and therefore the only possible casualty was himself. "And I'm healthy sir!" He then began to look over the man not mention his companions.

There were two other people in the car, and by the looks of it, a woman and a man. Why on Earth they were at this small town was beside him, but he was outnumbered. But didn't he come here for survivors, wasn't he tired of being alone. Then again, trusting random strangers was a test on its own. With this in mind Hunter crouched down again, not wanting to waste the one life he had.

Noah looked around, they were making too much noise. Way to much noise. He could see walkers making there way towards them and they didn't have much time until they will reach them. They came almost out of no where. Noah looked at the rear mirror, ''Skylar. Get the Ak-47 and make sure the silencer is well placed. Don't waste the ammos.'' he said seriously. He then looked at Logan, ''Wrap it up already. '' he said closing the closing the door of the passengers car. Skylar went to the opposite window that Noah opened, she prepared herself and placed the gun near it.

Noah immediately made his car roll and drove fast towards the crowd or zombies walking towards them. He made a wide turn making the wheels of the car squeak and leave black marks on the road. Skylar started shooting at all the zombies. It took barely a minute before she finished the job and high fived her brother. Noah rolled up the window and slowly made his way towards the group. He was a very good driver, the main reason why he was able to pull of such a tight turn in this small street.

As Conner cycled into the town, he couldn't help but think it was being rather active. There hadn't been that many gunshots in that town since the beginning of the out break. He had to be careful today, get in, greab the supplies, and get out. He disn't have the ammo on him to get into a gunfight then kill the zeds that showed up.

About half a quarter mile out, Conner was getting nervous. Those people were taking supplies he needed. Chips couldn't be made again and Mountain Dew wasn't made out of dew from a mountain. Perhaps he should try and find some seeds, start a food garden. As he was thinking about where to get the seeds, he entered town and blindly went to a hardware store to get some nails. Getting off, he walks into the store, M1911 up and ready to shoot. Luckily, nothing but rats were there. So grabbing what he could and shoving it stratigically into his pack. Then off again he went to a place that may have some food seeds, the gardening store.

Belinda pressed herself against the closest tree as shots flew by. The woman was an excellent marksman, that was for sure. Before her eyes every last one of the walkers was rendered motionless. She gripped her knife and her chest heaved with adrenaline, but there was nothing else for her to do, no other threats were around. Guns were so much simpler to use. She stayed where she was, watching these other non-infected. It was either that or start running, and for sure they'd shoot if she did that.

Logan looked around the area, he thought he spotted another survivor in the distance but he could not be sure, for all he knew it was another walker. However, there seemed to be a lot of survivors in this town. Sure, some like to go lone wolf but that path only ends in death. The only way to make it through this apocalypse was by taking risks and learning to put one's trust in others.

Logan rolled his shoulders then looking over at Noah he said,

"There seem to be a good number of survivors in this town but we can't band together because all of us moving around and looking for them will draw walkers in like crazy. So, here is what I am going to do. I will draw the walkers attention by making noise. I'll call out down the street for survivors to make their way to the parking garage we were just in. I leave it to you, Skylar and this guy here..."

Logan pointed at the newcomer.

"To ensure that those who show up are not infected and that they stay safe. Sure the lone wolf stuff is cool and all but that is not how we can survive. I'll draw the attention and spread the word. You keep them safe."

Noah opened his drivers door and leaned on the roof of the car to look at him. '' So basically, you are going to call out any survivors...it can be rapists, killers and all kind of people? Do you realize how dangerous that is?'' he asked looking at Skylar. He wanted safety for her and calling out all of these survivors who all seemed to be man was not a great idea to him. Skylar looked at her guns and back at Logan, ''We'll do so..Noah, just let it go and listen.'' she said knowing what he was thinking. Noah looked at her surprised, '' What are you talking about. Why should I listen to this completely stranger? How do i know he doesn't want to harm us.'' he said almost shouting. Skylar looked at him straight in the eyes, '' Noah, Trust me on this. I can see the guy isn't lying and he can help us survive this mess.'' she said almost hushing. Noah slammed the door of the car and bent to look at his sister from the window, ''We can perfectly survive alone. I don't need him to go all Commando on us.'' he said to her. Skylar looked down, she wasn't one to usually go against what her brother said. He had more experience in all aspect and usually knew what he was doing, but she knew that they were struggling more and more. They needed another strategy to survive.

"Noah listen, I am submitting myself to possible death to help you and your sister survive. Did you hear me say anything about how I was going to get away from the walkers once I have their attention. If that does not earn your trust then nothing will however, when it comes to the survivors I leave the judgement in your hands. You decide who we can trust and who we can't. I am doing this to help you two out. Is a little trust really too much to ask?"

''Tshh...'' Noah stepped back inside in his car annoyed by all of this. He hated the turn of event. They were suppose to get out of this town and hit the road to go south. Now here they were thinking of others. He didn't mind one...two....but not a whole bunch of them all at once. He raised his eyebrow as he looked at the kid that was defying Logan a few moments ago and made a small head sign for him to move his ass in the car. Skylar smiled and ruffled in the very short hair of Noah before kissing his cheek. ''See! It's not that hard.'' she said sitting back in her seat her guns next to her.

"Sir, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I have a 6 by 6 truck back a little ways, I can make a lot more noise then you could." He didn't want to get in the car with the frantic one. "Y'all go find the people, let me make some noise.". He didn't trust this guy with his life, so he put it in his own hands. Plus one man with a gun couldn't attract all the walkers in this town.

"No, that is not what is important here. A truck can get caught up, I can slip through things that those walkers will have a hard time following. I'd rather you go with them, I need Noah to give me a read on you so I can know whether or not you can be trusted. No offense but I have known him about five minutes longer then you. I trust him about five minutes more then you if you'll excuse my poor word usage. Go with Noah, let me handle the noise."

"I'll go with them, but not in the same car sir." Again he didn't trust the group. "I'll be back with my truck shortly.". With that he jogged off, not wanting to be with these maniacs any longer. The group was poorly made with no structure in it, yet here he was going with it. Mostly from the fact of not wanting to be alone, even if it was only til he inevitably died. By the time he got to the truck their were a few walkers, but that didn't matter as they couldn't catch him. Starting up the truck he drove into town, letting the exhaust alert them of his coming.

Noah rolled his eyes and looked at Logan, ''If you don't calm this hormonal kid.....I will certainly do it my way.'' he said before starting the car again.

Rylee didn't really find anything useful in the car garage, just a bunch of zombies and unusable vehicles. However, she wasn't going to give up. She started to search the still bodies of the walking corpses she had put down.

"This would have been great if this still had use..." She muttered as she tossed a wallet she pulled out from a pocket that was filled with money. If life had been normal, she would have probably considered doing this for a living.

"Finally..." She said as she found a ring of keys, an alarm to a car hanging off of it. She brushed her black hair away from her face before she stood up. She pressed the unlock button on the small control and down the lot, she heard a beep to signal the car was unlocked. She jogged over to the car, it was just a regular grey car, nothing special about it. At least it has a roof to keep the rain out... She thought, remembering how she drove through the pouring rain in her jeep during a thunderstorm.

Before Rylee got into the car, she searched the car to see if there was any undead in it. There was nothing of use in the car, just a rosary hanging from the rear-view mirror. As she sat in the car and stared at the dangling cross for a moment, she couldn't help but laugh, though rather dryly. She grabbed the rosary and yanked it off, beads falling everywhere, and dropped it.

"Where is your God now?" She backed out of the parking spot and carefully drove the car to the bottom floor to park it there. She got out of the car and locked it, putting the keys into her pocket. She might as well scrounge a bit for some extra supplies while it was still light out, she decided and then left the car garage.

"Noah please, lets just try to survive here. Now Go!"

Logan said as he pulled his shotgun off his back and fired once into the air. He took off running down the street yelling,

"Any survivors looking for others go to the parking garage with the dodge challenger parked out front. Move it now! I am keeping the walkers busy, now get moving!"

Logan continued running down the street repeating the sentence as he ran. He fired another shot into the air but continued moving yelling louder and louder as he went. Slowly the mob of walkers grew behind him until it was a substantial mass.

At the go, Noah shook his head and speeded towards the parking garage. It was on the other side of the town so most zombies were where Logan was. Noah parked the car next to the parking garage and stepped out of the Dodge with Skylar. He made sure to lock all the doors and kept the keys in his pocket. His rucksack on his back, the machete in one hand and his handgun place in it's sheath with the AK-47 hanging from his side., Noah was pretty much ready to explode some of their heads.

Rylee as soon as she stepped out, she heard the commotion becoming louder and the gunshots were closer. She also saw a horde of undead gathering and she wondered who can be idiotic enough to do such a thing. Fuck this... She thought and headed back into the garage quickly before any of the undead saw her. She unlocked her car and got in, locking the doors. She slipped her rucksack off, placing her weapons and her bag on the passenger seat. Thinking about whether she should stay or go, she decided it would be best if she just sat in the car for a while, waiting for the zombies to disperse before actually leaving the city.

"I wonder if I could get reception here..." She muttered to herself as she fiddled with the radio. Maybe she could get some news.
