[QUOTE="Pink Gorilla]Stefani wandered around here apartment, searching for leftover food. She didn't have a lot to begin with and she just finished her supply. Stefani groaned slightly and grabbed her rifle and slung it over her shoulder. She opened the door into the hallway slowly and checked around. When she saw that no one was there, she made her way quick to the stairs and began descending floors. Stefani pulled out her pistol just for safety. (I didn't have any other ideas...)

Emilia walked the same route as everyday, hoping to again find batteries. She meanwhile played her favourite game, TETRIS. She had gotten quite good at it by now. It wasn't quite effective to play while searching but she did not know that. It fitted together in her world. But suddenly, she bumped into something. Or better, someone. She fell to the ground, holding on tightly to her game to not get it damaged. She looked up afraidly, trembling she would be dead within the next seconds.

Stefani points her gun at the girl who bumped into her. She looked very young, but she didn't let her guard down. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Stefani asked, hostile. She stared right through the girl and slowed her breathing.

Emilia stuttered in fear. "My name is Emilia, please do not kill me. I am very sorry I did not see where I was going...", Emilia said. She tried to smile but it looked rather creepy.

Stefani stared hard at Emilia before reaching down and pulling her up to her feet. "I won't kill a child who isn't hostile. What are you doing out here by yourself? You should know that is dangerous." She asked accusingly.

Emilia nodded. "Dangerous. I know. I walked this route a lot. No threats here. Just me. And you. I'm Emilia. I search batteries for my game.", she said, searching for batteries in the ruins.

Stefani looked at Emilia oddly. "You're only concern is looking or batteries for your game? Where are your parents? How have you made it this long?" She asked.

"I can care for myself. I have no parents. They left me. They didn't like me. No one does. But this game is my favourite one...", she said, still looking for batteries. She clapped her hands as she found one. "Yay, one more!"

CLAK

The sound of a wooden cane striking the sidewalk sounded through the air. The source of this sound was a withered and wrinkly old man walking with a cane. The old man seemed to be leaving an alleyway. If an onlooker had taken the time to look into said alleyway, they would find the bloody mutilated corpse of a man lying in a pool of blood. The man had been a meta-human. In fact, he had been able to manipulate fire. The old man who had left the bloody alleyway was the meta-human's grandfather. His grandfather that had died 2 months ago.

CLAK

As the old man walked, his body began to change. He grew taller, and his wrinkles disappeared as he became younger. His scrawny, shriveled arms grew muscle. Soon, the old man was replaced by a much younger, much taller young man with long black hair and a tattoo running down his right arm. Vladimir threw the cane off to the side, and took the old man's shirt off, as it was much too small for him now. Fortunately, the old man's pants had been a few sizes too large, so he could keep those on. Reaching into his pocket, Vladimir pulled out as cigarette and a lighter as he glanced back at the alley that he had just left. That was the eighth person he had eaten today. As he smoked, he continued to walk down the street. He'd have to get a shirt. Maybe kill another person and take their shirt before he starts eating. He had a few female bodies that would be perfect for luring prey....Vladimir chuckled at the idea. As he walked, he snapped his fingers, creating a flame. Fire manipulation. Not the best of powers, but still useful offensively. It would do. With another snap of his fingers, the flame extinguished itself, and Vladimir continued down the street, on the hunt for new prey...and a shirt.

Even though Seto's apartment was on a 7th floor, it felt like the trio was climbing the stairs for a really long time. There it is. Seventh floor.

Matias looked in the nearest window. Oh, New York. Already ruinous and beat-up, with occasional screams, gunshots and laughter wafting from the streets. How did it come to this?

- H-hey, Seto, you said it was 708, right? There it is, I guess... - Matias pointed at the door.

@xandr

"yeah, 708--" Seto replied, approaching the door. He fished through his key ring until finding the short golden one for his apartment, quickly unlocking it and popping it open. The door had a nasty habit of getting stuck, and he had to force it slightly to open.

The apartment itself was clean, for the most part. It was small, barely above a studio, and a few boxes of canned food were stacked in the livingroom/kitchen area. The large wall to the left of the door was covered, head to toe, in Polaroids, notebook papers, and various news articles, all of which were semi-organized and covered in writing.

Seto stepped in, waiting for the others to join him before closing and locking the door. "Small, I know, but it doesn't draw attention and there was a bunch of food in this building when I found it, so.." He finished with a shrug.

Wallace gazed at the restrained captive they had acquired for a moment. He realized it would take some time for her to regain consciousness. It was quite awkward in fact to just stand there and wait around.

"Would you like a drink? I have a lovely bottle of Cognac in the-"

"Now is not the time for small talk sir." Mia responded with a strict and firm tone. He cleared his throat but did not say a thing, rather putting his arms behind his back while he walked towards the doors to the balcony.

"I think I'll have a look outside. Call for me when she awakens." He stood in front of the doors and opened them.

"Understood." She reaffirmed, feeling for a seat. She grabbed one near the couch and pulled it in front of the girl, sitting down. She gave the captive a poke on the knee, slouching on a free arm and waited.

Wallace looked over the balcony. The streets for now were empty. He sat down on one of the seats, his chin resting on his hand, a slight furrowed brow as he gazed out to the sky. He couldn't sit here and wait. He had to keep on moving. There was mercy hospital, the place where it all started. He could begin investigation there. He needed more information if he was going to report to his affiliates outside of the city. He needed something if they were going to help him in any way. He got up and walked back inside, immediately focused on Mia's gloved hand constantly probing at the unconscious girls' restrained one.

"Mia, mind unbinding the young lady from the chair? I figure we might as well take her on foot, we need to investigate the hospital."

Mia rose to her feet and unfastened the knots that restrained the girl to the chair. Her arms were still tightly restrained, as was her torso, but with the extra rope available, she tied it to her ankles, putting her in a hogtied position. She lifted the girl up and held her against her own back, her hands holding onto the rope strands as if she were a backpack. Wallace walked toward the elevator.

"Let's go." He spoke to her. She followed behind and they rode the elevator shaft down to the main lobby. They left the penthouse together and walked out onto the streets, heading straight for mercy hospital.

"Or we could just kill them." Astrid stated. Porter was used to her quick changes. Her shifting persona based on whatever merits she mentally assigned to situations. He laced his fingers across the table top and looked her over before addressing Artemis again. "So say we get you to the hospital, and get your vaccine? What if there is no cure?" Porter proposed, nibbling on the skin of his bottom lip. He could easily reach the hospital alone. Going from body to body was no issue. But the journey would be tiring and what would make it worth his time? Even if they cured the metas, there would still be the dome over the city, keeping them there. Reality often weighed against the boy when his nose wasn't buried in a book, or tending to Astrid. The reality that the world should take responsibility for their failure. People should die. The laws of karma made it so. Even if they cured them, life would not just proceed where it'd left off.
Artemis Fletcher

The shock was clear on his face as he heard Astrid's words, his mouth forming a hard line as he quietly listened to Porter express his doubts about his plan. Artemis shook his head in slight frustration, pinching the bridge of his nose, folding his arms against his chest as he looked up trying to make his face as stoic as possible. How the hell do I get through to these people. "I don't think you two are thinking about the long term, sure you can survive here for the time being, but what happens when you encounter a meta whose power far exceeds your own? What happens when the food runs out? What if the government decides to just level the entire city? All of these things are beyond your control. The clearest course of action, as risky as it might be, is to make a cure. That's our best chance of getting out of here alive, otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if the outside world just let us rot in here...and swooped in to take back the city once everyone's dead."

"The entire world has its eyes on this city right now, they're probably watching you and me at this very moment, hell they might even be listening in on our conversation. What we do, and what we don't will not only reflect us, but it could very well reflect the worlds opinion on metahuman's in general. To see meta's protecting humans, and fighting to save this dying city, this just might be the chance we need to change the worlds view on metahuman's as a whole. What's so hard about putting your abilities to use not only for the betterment of yourselves, but for the good of the world?"

A single crow stood at the edge of a nearby building, giving them a sideways glance, before taking off into the air and following after them. The bird had no shadow, so they would only notice it if they happened to look up.

Astrid snickered at Artemis, his speech was moving. Surely it would move those pure of heart. Believing that the world cared about the very people they'd abandoned and destroyed. Porter wondered where the swell of confidence in Artemis had come from. Something was driving him. If he were so sure about this solution, then why hadn't he gone off to find the means to get to the hospital? Why did Porter have to usher him out of danger's way? Because he didn't have a plan. He was spewing whims and nonsense. "Alive? What about this situation is worth living for?" Porter excused himself from the table and stretched his arms toward the ceiling, the bones cracking there. "Are you a meta, Artemis?" He asked then, nodding in his direction. "Or are you just practicing your persuasions?" He accused, a flat chuckle at the words.

Astrid followed suit, standing and looking down at Artemis. "You can sleep here tonight. Cause I dunno how you're gonna get to the hospital tonight. And tomorrow you can find someone to escort you." She flicked the side of his glasses and swooped past him, almost as if her feet didn't touch the floor. "Artemis. The world's opinion has already been reflected. They've sentenced us to death. And the idea that we should fix their fuck ups, well they can suck it." Porter gave him a dead stare and wandered into the living room, withdrawing a pillow and a knitted blanket from a small closet. He placed them on the sofa and glanced at the boy's backside, wishing he could still see things with hope for a comfortable future.

Guess these people aren't as gullible as I thought they'd be. Artemis sighed, taking off and folding his glasses, then placing them neatly on the table. He leaned back in his chair, his feet hovering above the ground, running a hand through his hair as he contemplated what his next move should be. The legs on the chair began to wobble as he shifted his weight, and before he had time to react he found himself tumbling backwards, his arms flailing through the air as he and the chair fell backwards. Who am I kidding, this is who I truly am. He said, grinning from ear to ear as he now stared up at the kitchen ceiling. A moment later he burst into laughter, bringing a hand to his mouth, trying to hold back the laughter although he quickly gave up. His chuckles echoing throughout the entire house, until they finally died down a moment later, his laughter petering off into a long drawn out sigh. "You know what, I think I'll just take a moment to rest right where I am." he said, closing his eyes with his hands resting on his stomach, making no move to rise from his awkward position on the floor.

Porter watched. He watched the boy place his glasses and topple to the floor, laughing. He watched even when he decided to stay put. Something wasn't quite right about Artemis. Though who was he to be the judge of what was right and wrong? He lifted the folded blanket, pillow resting atop it, and dropped it onto Artemis's stomach, eyes beating down on the odd male. He loomed over him, simply observing. The three dogs found Artemis's presence on their level to be quite a treat, and the ceaseless licking of his face and hands began. Porter made no move to stop them. "Good luck resting there." He muttered, eventually taking a seat on the far side of the sofa. It was one of those shaped like and "L". He pulled a book free from the bookcase and snapped it open, ears listening for Artemis to stir. He couldn't stay there forever. Not with the dogs nosing him all night.

"Okay, okay guys! Enough, enough!" Artemis giggled, covering his face with one hand, and using the other to playfully claw at the dogs. "Ewww!!!" he gagged, wiping their saliva from his face and mouth, miraculously managing to rise to his feet despite their continuous onslaught. He reached down for the blanket, grabbing ahold of one end and beginning to walk away, before realizing that one of the dogs had the other end in its mouth. "So that's how its going to be huh?" he snickered, pulling as hard as he could, but to his surprise the dog seemed to anticipate this and simply let go of the blanket. Letting out a yelp as he stumbled backwards, Artemis tripped over the edge of the couch, his body falling backwards with his head coming to rest on Porters lap.

"Um, sorry." he said quickly, his cheeks red with embarrassment, sitting up and scooting as far away from Porter as possible. "S-so...uh, what are you reading?" he stammered, avoiding eye contact, his head swiveled in the dogs direction. He gave the mutts a death glare, bringing an index finger to his neck and pretending to slit his throat.

Wallace took the lead, his posture upright and proper. Mia followed behind quite closely, having slipped her arms between the ropes, literally turning the girl into a backpack. Had Wallace looked behind, he would be treated to an awkward view of a small girl carrying another girl of equal size, as some sort of packmule would. Although cars were no longer present, he kept to the sidewalk. His gaze kept spanning the horizon, trying to get a read for any meta's in the area, but his monocle did not pick up any. It was for the best, he thought. It would be easier if they did not encounter anyone.

He went down the main street, coming up to the town square. He stopped to get a good look at the hospital in the distance, the big 'H' clear in the sky. Mia bumped into his back shortly after. He staggered forwards, looking backwards in fear, then shock, then relief, and finally worry as he raised an eyebrow to the awkward girl backpack.

"Hey, why did we stop?" Mia questioned him, her lip lowering slightly as she did.

"er..umm.." He scratched at his temple, with slight confusion. "The hospital is in the distance. We are almost there."

They continued their pace towards the building, now in sight and will soon begin searching the place.

Pike has been walking for a while now. He has been looking for a place to rest. He saw that he was coming up to a hospital. He really hated hospitals, they brought back memories of his mother. He really had no options, though, the hospital could have supplies and could be a good base for him to stay at. It's been a long time since he has wandered around the city. He tends to stay in one place for as long as he can before he moves to the next location without being detected." it's weird, then I haven't run into anyway for a long time" he state searching his surroundings. That when he comes across two figures coming up to the hospital. "This can either be my lucky day or the worst day I had in a while, " he said while trying to find a place to hide, hoping not to be spotted. he prepare himself anyway by taking out his combat knife and waiting to strike using his powers, just in case a fight breaks out. he wont let himself died in this place and if he need to he will kill any one that needs to be killed, for the good of the world. @Azuria

Maxwell looked around. "Yes. A little small. But its still a flat, is it not, and that is more than a lot of people have." He went to a window and threw his cigarette out of it.

Stefani contemplated her choices. She thought about leaving, but against her better judgement, she placed her hand on Emilia's back. "Here, follow me. Let's get some food." She said.

"yeah-- I mean, it's kept me alive. I owe it that much, have to give credit where it's due." Seto meandered over to the kitchenette, digging into one of the boxes and pulling out a bottle of water for himself, popping the cap and taking a satisfactory drink. He nodded towards the box, looking at the two others.

"help yourself to whatever, by the way. I've got more boxes in the bedroom, so it's all good." He said with a shrug, setting his bottle down on the counter top. He knew it probably wasn't a good idea to let people take his supplies, but what else was he supposed to do? He had enough for himself (for now) and couldn't bring it within himself to not at least offer the two men some help. Hell, if anyone wanted to make it out of this situation alive it'd have to be a cooperative effort, he figured, so a few bottles of water or cans of food was something worthy of sparing.

Emilia turned around. She looked at the Woman who touched. "Ok...I'm very hungry...thank you kindly... Did I mention that my name is Emilia?", she said, smiling at Stefani.

Matias looked around Seto's apartment and, dazed, sat on a nearest couch. Tired policeman blissfully smiled and closed his eyes.

- I'll be damned if it is not the best place I've ever seen, Seto. Ooooh, so good. Comfortable, well desined, full of...

He reached for a bottle of water, made a sip.

- ...supplies!

Suddenly, Matias realised that, without him knowing, he immideately started to leech of Seto's reserves and hospitability. He blushed, immediately stood up and gibbered:

- B-but, we will be as modest as we possibly can, right, Maxwell? I bet he will too. For all the troubles we've made for you, Seto, you'll get a compensation, once the order is restored. I promise.

Maxwell looked out of the window. "Yeah...modest. Sure why not.", he muttered, not really there with his mind. He was thinking about something that he always had to think of when he was around others. 'Should I care for them? Should I kill them? Ignore them? What should I do...', he thought to himself.

Porter listened to Artemis knock around behind him, tussling with the dogs. They were too good for humans, they really were. Nyx was no fool, however, and trickery was his forte when need be. Artemis tipped over the backend of the sofa, and as if he were expecting as much, Porter lifted his book out of the way of the boy's head--giving him no indication of irritation or the like. Though Artemis wouldn't have been able to see such an expression with the book fanned open in his face. He raised the book again with the apology, glancing as the other's cheeks flamed and he fled to the opposing end of the couch.

"The Prince." He told Artemis, as if everyone should know the book. And when he realized that it wasn't likely, he elaborated, though as minimal as possible. "By Machiavelli." Nyx blinked at Artemis's glare and wagged his tail, tongue hanging as if he were smiling. Porter chuckled quietly at the exchange. "Hmm. The dog outsmarted you, yet you're advocating saving the city. How noble." The remnants of a smirk were present as he flipped a page and found that his eyes were a bit heavy. He could always leave this body to rest in favor of another shell. Energy was ever available to likes of someone willing to steal it away.
