paramore
overview.
Once upon a time, a land, and a people, there was a kingdom. While seemingly idyllic, it was flawed from its roots. The citizens of the small domain were already hard pressed for any luck and fed up with the newfound tyrrany that was left of their rulers. See, the King fell ill(?) and died, leaving his throne to be run by the ruthless and spoiled Queen. But this Queen had a secret. Her family had a touch of magic. Denizens of fairy blood, people in her family ended up becoming the advisors of great kings and godmothers to women of great influence. Her twin sister had the makings to become a powerful Fairy Godmother, while she was left with no natural gifts at all. In the end, malicious wickedness grasped her heart and she abandoned everything she knew, claiming that she'd get everything she ever wanted and deserved.
And, she did.
But, in her ignorance and lavish meandering of the court, the Queen has decimated the royal coffers and all but castrated their army. With no funds or military support, the Kingdom is open to any kind of disaster. So, what does the Crown do? They plan another ritzy party--this time, in the hopes of marrying off the Prince to get some security back into the realm. No one is brave enough to confront the beast of a woman head-on, but there is a revolt and resistance to the complete idiocracy of the Royals. The two children of the royal family seem to be the only ones with any sense left. The eldest prince, whom the ball is being held for, wants nothing to do with the politics of the Kingdom. His younger brother wants to implement a parliament system for the royal family to answer to. Alas, these ideas from a newer mind are written off callously by the ones who are supposed to be changing things for the better.
Well, it just so happens there is a young man, apprenticing under a certain Godmother to his half-sister-- a fairy in training, so to speak. It just so happens that he's also closely involved with one of the princes. And, this young man has a plan of all plans: to assassinate the Queen. All they need is the right girl and a solid pair of glass shoes.
roles
roles.
The Queen
open
As beautiful as a pale rose in the light of the moon, she is not deterred from being as vile as she needs to be in order to maintain her luxurious lifestyle. Any goodness that was remaining in her was passed down to her sons, whom she values above anything. The only match for her detestable behavior has to be her insecurities. She's not vain, but worrisome about every detail being perfect to satisfy her needs. What she lacks in natural magic she makes up for with a knack for curses, utilizing rituals to make things work in her favor...o matter what the cost.
The Prince
open
Being the eldest son, he is used to shouldering the brunt of his mother's madness. He's used to having to look after her and be an adult at an early age. So, to be frank, all he wants is a fucking break. However, his mother sees him as being the key to keeping herself well off as the Kingdom falls to shambles. So, he is to be married off to the strongest and most wealthy kingdom. It's a good thing he's a gorgeous-looking fellow, though not as charming as you'd think.
The Rebel
open
While his brother was parenting their mother, this young man was learning the ropes from his father on how to rule their people fairly. He grew up with his nose in the books, becoming the person who people came to for answers on many topics. While he may not know it all, he's able to figure it out rather easily with the right resources. So, with the people clamoring for a change, he's ready to take the helm and be the ruler the kingdom deserves. He's just got to get around his mother first.
The Fairy Godmother
open
She is kind, but mistaken for weak. Her family has the largest number of Faries in it, with her taking the mantle that's been in their name for generations. She is supposed to find the One, her destined charge to lead into a great Ever After. However, while she is waiting on that, she is currently teaching the son of her long-lost best friend how to be a half-fairy. She can come across as meek and skittish, but she wants to see the kingdom flourish. While her sister sits on the throne, that cannot be. So, she is prepared to do anything to remove her from that position.
the Half Brother
taken
The eldest brother of the Girl, he was left on the doorstep of his father's home, seemingly abandoned by his birth mother to be left with the other parent. The product of a one-night stand, he wears the title of b*stard with a certain optimistic pride. Little does everyone know, he's teeming with magic and being taught by the Fairy Godmother how to control his gifts. The queen gives him a bad taste in his mouth and he owes the Fairy Godmother his life a few times over, so, the bitch has got to go.
the stepmother
open
A semi-drab woman living a wholly-drab life in the shadow of the society she longed to be a part of. The Father of the Girl and the Half Brother was a successful merchant, known for his beautiful collections. So, when he died, she thought she'd be left enough to live comfortably. But, it was all left to his children, who she still had to take care of after all. She's looking for any reason to get rid of the two brats in order for her and her daughter to finally live the lives they deserve. She's clumsy and loud but has a quickfire wit about her.
The Stepsister
open
She's genuinely kind to her stepsiblings but has to fake a persona for the sake of her mother. She's not as pretty as the other girls, but she's well-learned and very crafty. She is a very good teacher and has a humble sort of humor about herself that is pitifully dulled by the world they live in. Her goal is to see her loved ones happy...even at the expense of her own joy.
The Girl
open
Just becoming a woman in her own right, she along with her older brother are treated like objects at the ready that hang around the decorations. She has a rare kind of beauty that is only a compliment to her free-thinking mind and bold confidence. She's not afraid to say what's in her thoughts, no matter how "brazen" people call her. She's the constant target of her stepmother, who just wants her out of the picture. Could she be the one that can get them close enough to the queen to strike?
rules

rule one.
Respect the rules and regulations set forth by the admin of RPN. They're there for a reason. If you need a refresher, click here.
rule two.
Respect my authority over this rp. It's a really well-thought-out idea and I did not put this string of thoughts together to waste my time in a negative manner. I have a certain vision for this rp and I reserve the right to boot you out if you treat me or anyone else involved in this rp like sh*t. If you have nothing nice to say, don't even sign up. And, if you decide to bud in on something that isn't your business and it's in my jurisdiction to act on your stupidity then prepare to have a horrible time. There will be LGBTQ+ themes, POC, and social commentary(a little, but enough to mention). If you don't like it, the door is revolving and calling your name.
rule three.
Please have a discord. I intend on doing a lot of plotting and socializing on that platform when it comes to this rp, and it'd be really convenient to communicate with your fellow cast mates there. If you don't have one, I'd recommend you apply elsewhere. I'm trying to keep this rp as clutter-free as possible and this saves me a step (along with lore because, at its core, this is just a Cinderella story...no need for a whole lore page). Also, this is going to be a semi-literate project. I expect full attendance if you are going to be involved in the story and its characters. Please don't ghost. If you want to drop at any point, I'll understand. But, give me some heads up before the story gets rolling, because it's hard to put your neck out there over and over again--even with a great idea. Life comes up, I know this very well...but, some consideration goes a long way with anybody. Thanks!
