That was made waaay before the Vivids so it can't be helped. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the vivids, especially the latest season. Loli MMA is fine and all but I much prefer beam spam and actual stakes. First vivid season wasn't bad, but the last one was just.. meh...
I'd say there are actual stakes and great fights in both seasons of Vivid. The Corona vs Eugemon and the two newcomers of the second season were a couple fights I really loved and that I think pose real meaning as to how to do a fight well regardless of knowing who's gonna win.

Strikers' problem, especially when it was airing (week between episodes after all) was it was so unbearably fucking slow. It was just agonizing slogging through it. When you can marathon it it's not so bad. But when you spend like 2 and a half months doing boring mundane shit, eesh. I didn't hate it, but that's why it's rated so low on the chart. Things really picked up in the second half as denoted with the high point of episode 17. Lots and lots of really badass moments in the second half of strikers.
Maybe? I loved the first half too, I don't see the problem, but then again, I binged watched all of Nanoha so I wouldn't know...

Since it was all just sports there weren't any real risks, it was just standard sports risks of "I don't want to lose". Coming off three seasons where there were actual stakes of life and death and all that, just didn't draw me in as much.

And yeah, binge-watching Nanoha makes strikers way more tolerable. The slice of life training of the first half isn't bad until you have to spend months and months on it lol. It gets kinda old after 3 months D:

I just wish they could do a Strikers movie, or more probably a pair of movies. I'd love to see all those iconic moments with movie-budget quality.

This, but with Nanoha vs Vivio or Caro summoning Voltaire would be so fucking good.

That's a very narrow-minded view of what what "stakes" are, tbh. So long as something has great meaning to a character and that is adequately communicated, there are good stakes.

Just different genres. You can't compare the stakes of a Football player winning the superbowl to the stakes of a soldier in WW2 trying to prevent the fire bombing of a city. It's just two completely different levels. Nanoha had always been the latter, it was serious business where failure meant a lot of people were going to die. Failure in Vivid just meant some cute lolis would be sad. They were enjoyable as sports anime, but I'm not a huge fan of sports anime and I became a fan of the semi-standard mahou shoujo of the original Nanoha series. The cute lolis doing cute MMA fighting just never hooked me that much.

It's just hard going from fighting to save the world to fighting because it's your hobby.

I'm not a fan of sports anime either, though I guess that may be because most of time they focus on something I kinda hate: sports

It was neat seeing magical MMA. That's why I preferred the first season of vivid to the second. In the first season they still used magic. It was all the action you love from the originals, but regulated into a sports setting. It was neat. But the second season? Literally no magic to be seen other than glowing fists. It was just pure normal real life MMA but with cute anime girls. If they had at least stuck to the magic of the first vivid season I'd have liked it a lot better. But it's like they forgot I'm a fan of nanoha because I like magic and mahou shoujos, you can't just remove that and expect me to love it as much as the rest of the franchise lmao.

I'm really looking forward to the new movie, though. The movies stick to the roots of Nanoha with high-stakes SRW inspired mahou shoujo combat, and I liked the last two movies so I can't wait for this one to come out. Although it'd probably still be a long time until we get to see it.

I think Koinu would be more like half dog half fish, rather than part bird as the pic seems to suggest, but nice :P
....That's a Scottish terrier style Pokemon xD

I didn't like it at first, but it kinda began to grow on me later
It was similar with me and the 2nd one. I used to dislike it, but now I luv it.
Btw. Since YoungX YoungX officially left, how should I go about my student post? I kinda started an interaction with him.

I'm still alive and am still in this.
I'm really sorry that I haven't posted even though I said I would.
I'm really going to post today. Really.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a reply to write which I'm definitely going to post.
