As expected there was no sting. It was fairly easy to figure out only direct skin contact triggered whatever Kae's quirk was. Which explained the sexy skin-tight costume she had. As Aruka went through the usual angered response Sumi just danced around to stand directly before the emerald beauty clasped her arms behind her back as she looked at the other girl. However the words that followed the usual response brought her smile down a touch. "What's this we business?" She repeated quietly, the confusion evident in her tone. "Obviously we'd team up. Not like I know anyone else ya'know?" Her tone had dulled ever-so-slightly compared to her usual speech.

She glanced over her shoulder at the display that had caught Kae's attention only to quickly snap back at the other girl's words. The sarcasm was thick and the statement blunt. It wasn't often she was rebuked so soundly. She stood there in silence, a faint smile upon her lips as Kae's words filled her ears. Before she could speak the teacher had decided for them, pairing them up against another pair she hadn't heard of. She took a few steps back, her arms still held firmly behind her back as Kae tried to contest the pairing.

With her roommate giving up in defeat she took a small breath, resuming her trademarked grin along with an awkward laugh. "Haha.... seems like we're teamed up after all..." She shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she spoke. At the obnoxious comment she brought a hand up to her chest triumphantly. "I'll have you know I'm way more useful than I am obnoxious!" She quickly let her arm drop to her side and spun on her heel to face her back towards the other girl and began making her way to one of the forts. At the prospect of a plan she spoke back at the girl behind her. "Well I am a pretty good catch, what did you have in mind?"

Kaoru was really upset, what the hell did the teach seriously not notice they were already pairing off. The only thing that made it okay was that she still got the same partner in the end. It was probably for the best though that the matches were randomized. After all Toki already saw and knew how her quirk worked. She only had vague information on Toki’s though. It would be more fun to go against someone she knew though. She let out a light sigh more for being noticed than her actual feelings on the matter. She twirled around and faced Toki with a coy smile and making a circle with her index finger that lead into pointing at Toki.
“Guess it’ll have to be next time for when we go against each other. Watch carefully alright~ By the time we face off I’ll be ten times better.”
She turned to back to Avery and grabbed his hand dragging him along. She was giddy finally something to stir her up. She made it into the fort before she turned to face her opponents. She took in a deep breath intending to scream out her intentions to the world.
“LISTEN UP ME AND AVERY-SAN ARE GONNA… WHOA DATSU-SAN?”
Shit there goes her intro. She messed up badly. She was quick to turn back to Avery. This was gonna throw a wrench into their plans. She couldn’t very well focus on distraction when they won’t be distracted. She’d be playing for keeps then. Time to get ready for it all. She started to focus her energy. It was time to make a tier two. As she started the summoning she turned back to Avery and started to whisper to him.
“Okay Datsu has poisonous skin, I dunno how potent it is since I haven’t seen her in awhile. I’m making one of my decently strong shadows. It’s gonna take half my energy though, luckily that means it’ll be twice as strong as I am. I’ll have it go after Datsu since they can’t feel so it should get around it.”

Hidari listened in to Hitsu's idea, leaning in close to the little guy so he could whisper it into his ear. While Hitsu explained the details to him, Hidari nodded in understanding. When he was finished, Hidari pulled out of his partner's personal space to reflect on the plan. It was an alright strategy; it made the most out of both of their Quirk's while crippling their opponent's performance. Hidari chuckled in his throat; this could work out very well for them. "Yes, yes, yes! Daddy likes!" He could barely contain his excitement. No matter what his opponent's skills were, only a select few would be able to deal with what they had in store. So far, it seemed like it was going to be a smooth victory for the two of them.

"You know what, Okuhito-kun? I like you a lot," Hidari said with a smile on his face. Hidari moved over to Hitsu's side and once again squatted down to his level. Wrapping his arm over his shoulder, Hidari leaned his face in close to Hitsu. "We haven't known each other for long, but I feel like you and I are the same in a lot of ways. You're smart, and you use those smarts to make up for what you might lack in physical strength." Hidari then released Hitsu and stood up to look around at some of the other students, looking around for the ones with muscles on top of muscles. People like that Ryo guy, big tough guys who think they're untouchable, really pissed him off. He thought he was such tough shit, but Hidari knew he could wipe the floor with him in a fight, no sweat. Hidari was really hoping they got matched against each other, he still needed to pay him back for his insults earlier.

Hidari looked back at Hitsu, only this time he wasn't smiling anymore. He seemed dead serious now, as if he was ready to get down to business. His hands were clenched into fists and his brow was furrowed like some kind of CEO. "In this world, it's not the people with the biggest pecs or the strongest punches that should make the best heroes. It should be guys like you and me, people who actually think things through and strategize instead of just punching through whatever obstacle comes in their way." Squatting once more, Hidari held out his clenched fist for Hitsu to pound. As he said, he barely knew this kid. But together, the two of them were going to show everyone here that it takes more than brute force to be a good hero, no, a great person. "Come on, let's you and me show this school who rules."

Aruka Datsukaeru
CS
Labyrinth: 1023-1024
What was this girl on about? Not knowing anyone else with how friendly she was? As if it would take someone like her long to make dozens of friends, she wasn't like Aruka in the slightest... Aruka's mind wondered for a short while, it didn't matter, she... They had more important things to worry about now.
"See that clump up there?" Aruka questioned, attempting a serious tone through her higher pitched voice, looking straight at Sumi without indicating the area physically as they moved toward the fort. "Yeah just give it away!" She hushed at the redhead, not eager to let their opposition in on anything. "There are few on the ground nearby, some you might be able to grab uncontested, but brawling over the scraps with a pair we know nothing about isn't what I'd call a solid strategy." Aruka stated, beginning to stretch her arms on the back of her neck.

As they arrived in front of the fort, Aruka continued to stretch, bringing her body down toward each leg. "Now, when..." She began to continue, before a voice boomed out, it sounded almost... Familiar. "Is that...?" Aruka began to think to herself as she got up, eyes open wide, looking over toward their opponent. She clearly knew her, and Aruka wouldn't be surprised to who she had in mind being here, not with what she believed to be such a useful quirk. "I think I know that girl." She mumbled, the visor was blocking full vision, but the similarities were definitely there. Bringing a hand to her chin, Aruka continued to ponder their situation. "If a small creature comes running out, that's hers, though who knows what it's like now... Used to take a lot out of her, so keep that in mind." Aruka noted, before looking toward Sumi once more, eyes filling with shock at the sudden gap lacking between them, causing her to shuffle back slightly. "That means she'll know not to come too close to me... Good." She emphasised toward the red head, a small smile forming at the realisation. While she tried to explain it all as a plan, in truth the green girl had no interest in using her quirk on anyone, not after what it had done before.

Things seemed to be starting up now, it wouldn't be long before they began. Now she would need to put her trust in a girl who couldn't follow basic rules, or chose to ignore them. "Go for the close ones first Lang-San, no reason not to, distract the others if you can, the less they focus on what we're doing the better. When the time comes get close to the fort." Aruka stated, still trying to put on a serious character, nodding toward Sumi.

After Hitsukiri was done explaining his idea to Hidari, he patiently waited for his objections. This plan was somewhat functional at the very least. Their quirks weren't strong like the others he'd think. When Hidari started to speak in a rather unique way, he was confused at his word choice. Of course he preferred to stay restricted, so his emotions wouldn't tumble out and hit him. Why would Hidari call out 'daddy?' Does that mean he has some high affection to his father?

Though those thoughts didn't matter as he resumed back to looking at whatever Hidari was doing. He had an huge urge to punch him straight in the chin right there, and then for invading personal space. Then again he violated personal space by punching his friends repeatedly, so he had no right in punching him. 'Connected?' Hardly, there was one huge gap between them that separated them from being relatively similar. "Yea..." Hitsukiri just said as he stopped making a fist, and delved his hand into his pocket. He gripped onto his knuckle, as Hidari continued to ramble on about his nonsense. It only just made him despair more on how Hidari's rivalry, or animosity to Ryo was going to grow. It only made him drop his guard, but he regained his composure.

When he looked back up after finding the his item, he looked at Hidari. His face didn't hold anything as he spoke. It almost startled him when he compared to this guy in front of him, and the guy two minutes ago. Though at least he made his point about strength. It really didn't matter on how strong you were. If you didn't have the technique, nor skill in fighting then those muscles were just purely trained out of pride. How could you use those muscles if you couldn't properly punch? After he took off his goggles, he saw Hidari offer him his fist. With a sigh he softly fist bumped him back. "Of course," Hitsukiri said in a more confident tone he used before. This was so going to be hell.

At Kae's question she turned her gaze upwards at the chasm above, assuming the emerald girl was talking about the mannequins on the ceiling high above. The urge to secrecy caused a faint smile to tug at her lips. The two of them truly were different. She felt no need in secret strategizing. They'd just go out there and grab mannequins, save people, that's all there was to it. Either way she obliged and gave a quiet "Mhmm" along with a nod at the girl's question. Given Kae's focus on the ceiling mannequins she was beginning to wonder what Kae's quirk truly was. Stingy skin doesn't help you get up to those, and she was positive Kae didn't expect her to be the one to get them.

She came to a stop at the fort, spinning around on her hell to face her comrade to listen to the rest of the plan. Only the rest of the plan never came, instead a voice called out from the opposite fort and stole Kae's attention away. She looked over at the girl who wore a costume similar to the emerald beauty beside her. Both of them clad in skintight black outfits, only the other girl had some high tech visor obscuring her face. She glanced over at Kae, now curious as to the relation of the two. "Friend of yours?" She looked back at their opponents. She knew nothing about either of them, but based on what Kae said the girl at least had some kind of summoning type quirk. A small creature wasn't anything she couldn't handle... probably..

The sound of shuffled footsteps brought her gaze back to Kae only to find the other girl a few steps further than she once was. She took a deep breath as Kae resumed explaining the plan. Although it was sorely lacking in details she could figure out the gist of it. "Keep them distracted as you get the mannequins from up high and hand them off to me. Got it." She spoke in a relatively low tone so as not to let the other team hear, although given the distance she doubted they'd hear even if she spoke normally. But she didn't need to invoke any more of Kae's ire at the moment.

"Just say the word and I'll be there." She stated matter-of-factly as she held her gaze firmly on the opposing side. She reached for the small flash-light sized pole hanging on her belt. As she pulled it off she gave it a small flourish during which it extended to full size, being just as tall as she was. She held the pole vertically, one end firmly planted on the ground giving her the demeanor of a castle guard. A very flamboyantly dressed castle guard. As the seconds ticked by to the start of the match she once again spoke without facing the other girl. "I..." She paused for a brief second before continuing. "Let's do our best, Kae-chan."

There was a uncomfortable feeling in her stomach. Junsou was aware of that but at the moment, she was preoccupied with her thoughts. She hadn't been able to stay calm ever since she heard they needn't to rescue mannequins as a pair. It made her recall the day of the exam which she honestly had forgotten. Probably due to the excitement and awe.

Either way, the memories brought forth emotions that weren't exactly positive. She not only remembered how the exam went but who she teamed up with on that day. Subsequently, she was reminded of the second time she encountered her impromptu partner. Junsou was amazed by how she had forgotten about the girl who almost punched her in a ramen cart. The girl who she felt both guilty and distaste towards.

Still, Junsou couldn't help but think to go and search for her. Just like that day, Junsou felt utterly useless due to her lack of physical skills and combat abilities. Again, she felt that her Quirk was rather useless. Which was why she was tempted to seek the twin-tailed girl. She was sure her Quirk would actually be helpful in a way if it was with her.

Even with those thoughts, Junsou remained where she was. She buried those thoughts deep down. She shouldn't rely on others. If she ever wanted to be a good Pro Hero, she needed to learn to utilize her Quirk to the fullest in the best way possible. Besides, Junsou would rather not be stuck with Shiri.

As she was thinking, she noticed the teacher calling forth two pairs of students. The first pair were girls. One with short orange hair and clothes that were... interesting. Her partner was a green skinned girl with black marks. Next up, a guy and a girl. She recognized both of them from Support Class. Kaoru and Avery.

Just as she finished assessing the two pairs, she heard a familiar voice call her. Junsou could guess who it was and as she looked at the source her eyes lit up though she kept her neutral expression. She was right. It was Akacha. Her senpai. Junsou had to lift her head up since Akacha's hero costume was a large suit which looked cool and badass.

Junsou stayed quiet as she listened to Akacha which was a bit hard considering her words were kind of jumbled. Junsou kept the happy aura she had around her. Still, she understood that Akacha was asking if she wanted to pair up. She never had the chance to talk more with her after the auditorium gathering but she knew both of them had their own things to do. Which was why she was happy with that invitation. Not that anyone would notice. The only thing visible are her eyes, due to the gas mask.

"Of course. I'd love to be partners with you, Senpai!..... But are you sure you want me? I mean, I'm honored and all but my Quirk isn't really grand or awesome. I'm not going to lie to you, Senpai. I'm like, one of the unhelpful choices." At first, Junsou sounded cheery but as she went on, her voice got softer and more unsure. She would absolutely love to team up with Akacha but she would hate to drag her down.

Alarica Schinder, Labyrinthian Chamber
1022 Hours
Mmm. Mmm. With her little eye Alarica spotted it. A Hero in need! This time, not in her reflection. Their face may have been masked be she could tell, their ambitions were pure. Or ah, something along those lines. Those definitely sounded like the sort of words that a Hero should be thinking with, at the very least.

"Ahem." Alarica didn't waste much time in her attack. A, er, mostly heroic flourish and a bid for the masked student's attention were all that preceded her offer. "Good day!" Greeting, rather. "Ah, yes, well I saw your spirit and your, er, passion just a few moments ago..." Her voice was noticeably stiff. "...And wanted to offer my services. Ah! No no, I wanted to offer my help! I mean..." Ah, gods, she was making a fool of herself right now. Especially in front of this mysterious ball of bravado that stood in front of her.

Breathe deep.

While not oblivious to the student in front of her, Alarica took a moment to calm herself. It wasn't like she was nervous. Well, maybe a little. Rather she had a 'mile a minute' brain attached to a 'meter a minute mouth'. Truly, the greatest frustration of her youth. She still got embarrassed when she thought about the time when she asked her first crush to date her before even asking his name.

"I mean, sorry, do you want to partner up, Kamen-san? Er. Can I call you that?"

Scolded by a teacher on the first day, it was fucking perfect. She growled as she left the room, everyone else already gone. No matter, hopefully that was her only class with the edgy dragon boy.
Time: 10:15 AM
Location: Dressing Room -> Labyrinth
Riba walked out of the dressing room, now with her skin tight jumpsuit and new skeleton-like features. She then went with the group, paying close attention to the walls of the labyrinth in an attempt to memorize the layout. She was impressed by Gravedigger, their maze seeming to get more complex the deeper you got. No two ways were the same and that just made it harder to travel through without a guide. The girl looked around at the rest of the students in their hero suits. Some went for practicality, others went to simply looks; she didn’t enjoy those types. It wasn’t her time to bicker, rather she had to find a teammate that could help her take advantage of the situation. Riba spotted the boy from her mentoring class and walked towards him. She grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around. “Hey, you. Never got to ask what your quirk was. Want to work with me?”

Avery stepped out of the dressing room with his jacket flowing in the wind. He made a hero pose with his chest puffed, something similar to the symbol of peace himself. The boy followed the maze, the idea of getting lost was almost frightening to say the least. He looked at the others, somewhat worried if any would take him as their partner.

However, that’s when Kaoru came to him, yelling and running towards him. He was kinda awestruck as she grabbed his hand and tugged him towards her other friends. The girl proclaimed her want to the world, Avery’s eyes turning to stars. Did this girl actually believe in his ability? He would show his worth to this girl if that was her intent, he had to.

Soon their plan unfolded, Kaoru was starting to generate her shadow creature while Avery had a small bubble expand in his hand.
“Pardon, but would you mind if I stick this on your suit? I’m thinking attaching these could make you more light foot and allow your movements more silent. I’ll stay close and add these to the mannequins, allowing us not to worry about the sensitivity.”

Ranger Shining
She was furious. Two days in a row, her temper had risen to a boiling point. Denied once by that awful lizard, and now by this other second-rate fool! Augh, how it burns the soul! But she had learned her lesson. She did not pout, she did not show her anger outwardly. But simmer, she did. She would show these fools one day, just how much of a second-rate hero they were. They will rue the day they had made an enemy out of Dea November. She was of Deus’ bloodline, but she was, too, her mother’s child. The phrase was as such: ‘He who crossed Deus’ path, saw only the four walls of prison; he who crossed Kamui’s path, saw the hospital, or nothing at all.’ Things will change. It was either fear, or respect that she will earn in this establishment.

She was broken out of her reverie by someone who seemed to have donned a sailor costume, the other end of the spectrum of the henshin genre. Despite this, Dea nearly forgot her entire revenge plot at seeing her energy. How simply exuberant! Her energy seeped into her almost as if she were a sun herself. Dea was just so taken by her vibe that she took a few seconds to register that this sun of hers was talking to her.

Y-you would do that?” Dea coughed, then recovered her stature quickly. “I mean, yes, you may. Can. Partner with me. I seem to have lost some of my composure. If you will, please stay for the moment.” She cleared her throat, then placed both her hands at her hips, beaming from behind her mask. “I am Ranger Shining! I call upon the very power of the sun itself! It is a great opportunity to meet someone as inspiring as you on this very second day!

Shiri Itami, Labyrinthian Chamber
1019 Hours
There was a definite look of incredulity on Shiri's face when he saw his classmates. The lot of them, all dressed up like they were about to attend some sort of modern art inspired fashion show. Completely insane. Living in the society he did, Shiri wasn't exactly unused to seeing costumed wanna-bes running around the streets, but this was probably the first time he'd seen so many in person. Rather than getting mad about it, he just laughed. Specifically when Toki came to find him. Their relationship probably wasn't yet close enough for it, but he couldn't help himself.

"You guys all look ridiculous." Shiri's speech was broken up by a mix of laughter, and desperate attempts to catch his breath."No no, I don't have a partner. I don't have a costume, either. I'm uh, not really interested in playing dress-up." Deep breaths. Shiri took a moment to calm himself down, wipe the tears from his eyes, and regard his would-be partner with some degree of respect. "Sorry about that. Seeing everyone dressed up like it's Halloween day got to me." It was probably obvious that his apology was one in formality only, the boy feeling no worse about his outburst against Toki than he had about his very-different one against Junsou.

"If you'll forgive me, I'd be up for this partner business." He extended his hand much like he had with the other silver-haired partner he'd taken on. "Sound good?"

"Ah, right. Good luck..." It all happened so fast. The moment they met up with Itami Kuro and Avery were selected to be one of the first to fight against another pair. All the while Kuro proclaiming she'd be ten times stronger than she was now. That made her a little curious as to just how strong Kuro actually was. However laughter drew her focus towards Itami. The mention of her looking ridiculous caused her to, yet again, tug on her outfit for any extra protection she could squeeze out of it. Her face re-adorning that reddish hue that had abated. "It's not like I picked it..." The words were a quiet grumble of discontent. So far she had endured nothing but embarrassment from her new friends due to the costume her mother had designed.

Looking at Itami, if she knew she could get away with no costume at all she would have simply taken that offer. Wearing a simple tank-top would have been a hell of a lot better than wearing this getup. She let out a long, dejected sigh at the other girl's Halloween remark. "I wouldn't wear it if I had a choice." Still, she forced a smile as the other girl agreed to partner up with her. She reached out her own gloved hand to grasp Itami's with a small nod of her head. "I guess we should make sure to win then." As if on cue she heard the announcement that she and Itami would be fighting a pair of boys after the current fight. She didn't recognize either of them, probably from a different class. "Huh, looks like we've got our opponents figured out."

Hidari stood with Hitsukiri, awaiting their turn in the training exercise whilst mulling over their current situation with a smug grin on his face. Hidari thought they had an advantage before, but this had to be a sign from the Gods. Itami, Shiri, Hidari recognized him from that little fight the other day between him, the other two "elite" students and his new favorite teacher, Barun-sensei. Well, it wasn't like Hidari could forget him even if he tried. The guy fashioned his hair into long pigtails, that wasn't something you could forget in a day. As much as Hidari adored his hairstyle, he was none too impressed with his lack of a costume.

"Hey, did you see what that guy was wearing," asked Hidari, who had crouched down yet again to nudge Hitsu's with his elbow. "You'd think a guy like that would've spent a little more time working on his costume. I mean, it's kind of an insult to the people here who actually put effort into designing their outfit." Hidari slid his cap onto his head. It felt tight around his skull, but he was fine with it. The last thing he wanted was to lose it during the training exercise. He then put his right hand on his chest in an offended manner and said, "People like me."

Hidari stood up and started to do an exercise for his hands and fingers. First, Hidari made gentle fists and held them that way for thirty seconds and then release and spread his fingers wide. He would repeat this motion another three times for good measure. Using his Quirk too much could really take a toll on his hands, so he figured if he did these every so often could reduce. the painful, numbing effects. While he did his exercises, Hidari continued to speak with Hitsukiri like normal. "Well, I don't know about you, but I think it's a good thing they pitted us against that Itami kid. Because of yesterday's fight, we have a vague idea of what his Quirk is, which is he probably has the ability to punch and kick really hard."

Hidari hummed for a second as he thought about how best to deal with this powerhouse. All Hidari could do was shrug and say, "I guess our best solution is to just not get hit. That should be easy enough with our powers combined, don't you think Okuhito-kun?" Hidari let out another short hum and closed his eyes as another thought came to mind. "We'll have to keep an eye on his partner though, we still have no idea what her Quirk is." Hidari realized that Hitsu might have been getting a little nervous about what they were about to do. Whether he really was or not, in an attempt to reassure him, Hidari flashed Hitsu a charming grin like the one from before. "They shouldn't be able to see you in the fog, so you can focus on getting the dummies to our fort without having to worry about getting socked in the jaw. As long as you keep that fog up, I can keep those two distracted and off your back. No problem!"

Having finished his exercises, Hidari wiggled his fingers before reaching out to Hitsu. "We'll be starting soon," said Hidari, pointing out the obvious. "Here, give me your goggles before we get out there." He imagined Hitsu didn't want these to break the first day he got them, so, in another attempt to put his mind at ease, Hidari laughed and said, "Once again, you won't need to worry. I'll take good care of them." Taking the goggles from Hitsukiri, Hidari removed his cap to put them on, making sure they fit nicely before placing his hat back where it belonged. With his eyes now obscured, Hitsu could only see Hidari's smile. Pointing at one side of the goggles, Hidari tapped at a small bump he felt and asked, "This is the button to turn them on, right?"

Labyrinthian Chamber: Hitsukiri and Hidari's Fort

Shiri and Tokihana. So those were the opponents that Hidari, and him had to fight during this practice. They didn't know that much about Tokihana, but Shiri was an entirely new case. It was one of the top three, so it wasn't going to be underestimated. While it was clear that he was male, Hitsukiri couldn't exactly think of it as much. This however was going to be tough fight indeed.

Hitsukiri just raised an eye without batting a glance to whatever Hidari had to say. Shiri's 'costume' was just it wearing whatever it liked. A costume was made specifically to support the hero in any possible way. Granted maybe it's quirk couldn't be helped by an aid of a costume, but it was still handy to have. Though he didn't care if it put any effort into any their costume. If it was their choice to not have a costume then so be it. "Sure," That was the only response Hitsukiri said absentmindedly.

"I agree," It was natural for someone to assume that his quirk was related to some kind of strength enhancement. It was very doubtful that it would conceal it's quirk in the battle against sensei. Cracking his knuckles, Hitsukiri thought of the chances of defeating it. The chances were very thing, and not worth risking. The positives were that if he did engage it, his chances of escaping were still quite high. The same would go to his partner, but he was uncertain on how agile Hidari was.

He almost coughed at how simple those words came tumbling out of Hidari's mouth. He knew he could at least maybe dodge the blows from the club, because of his small form and quirk. Giving a nod to Hidari's obvious analysis on what to do against it, they were not talking about the girl. Granted they knew little to nothing about her, so cautious was advised in a fight against her. If only rolling one's eyes was not considered mean, he would do it right now. It was somewhat touching that Hidari had concern, but not today since he didn't take his medication. In response he just hummed in agreement.

When Hidari reached over for his goggles, Hitsukiri slightly flinched back. He wasn't use to have an acquaintance arm close to his face, but he nonetheless let Hidari take them off. Granted now it was going to be hard to fight without them, Hidari would most likely give them back later. With another nod, he started to breath in. It was still a long time that he used his quite despite the fact he used it during the exam. He only hoped he would do it right.

Part of him almost felt bad right now. He'd not known her for long, but making someone he liked uncomfortable actually ate at him a bit. Especially when she'd seemed sympathetic to the no-costumes idea. Internally, Shiri sighed, but there was no sense in moping about it right now. He didn't particularly care about whatever grades he ended up with here, but he also wasn't about to let some try-hard hero kids walk over him because he was feeling sensitive.

"Well, you make shields right?" There wasn't much hesitation Shiri's voice. He wasn't sure of the rest of the student body but this wasn't his first rodeo. He'd been fighting punks since he was ten, and had already had his ass beaten more times than he probably ever would in this place. And if there was one thing he'd learned, it was that overthinking things was definitely his enemy. In his experience, simple was best, and the first thing that came to mind was usually the simplest. So-

"How big are they? They the huge kind? I figure we could just hide behind one and march our way through this thing. They try to get around it and I knock em flat." Not exactly exhilarating, but he'd simmered down from his last fight. He was will to put aside a little of the pomp and circumstance so things would go a little more smoothly this time. Maybe it was because he felt a little guilty about the costume thing, but he was inclined not to get his new friend on the loser list just yet. Shit, man. Someone shows one glimpse of like-mindedness and he was suddenly concerned about them like some sort of chump. Some 'Demon King' he was.

Ahhh!

Suddenly, he clashed his fists together while thinking something along the lines of 'Get over it, loser!'

"Right! You ready to tear those losers a new one and get you back into some real clothes?" He was smiling, despite his guilty thoughts. Even if he was pretty sure the guys they were up against probably hadn't been in a fight all their lives, Shiri was still looking forward to this. It wasn't like he didn't want to get to know his classmates, after all, and there was no place he was better at doing that in than in a good old fashioned brawl.

The match had been interesting to say the least. It was nice seeing Kuro's quirk in all it's glory. A far departure from what she envisioned it as. But now it was her turn and she had to focus on making sure she didn't let Itami down. If it was up to her she'd just half-ass her way through to get it out of the way. But she couldn't bring her friend down with her. She let out a silent sigh before Itami's voice pulled her from her thoughts. "Huh? Ah... yeah. Although they aren't what you're probably thinking of." She made her way to their fort as she spoke, looking at their opponents from the corner of her eye as she went. She had seen Itami work, she knew he could fight. Just made her wonder if their opponents could also fight, as that's probably what it'll come down to.

As they reached the fort she was bombarded with a few questions and suggestions, to which she hastily responded. "They're pretty big, although I'm not really use to using them that way." She recalled her sessions with her mom. Slow approaches weren't usually on the menu. Speed, power, overwhelming the enemy or quickly defending targets was what she was taught. With that in mind she shook her head. Best to play to her strengths for the first time. "I'm more of a reactionary fighter, or like... a brawler? I don't really do the slow approach that well so it might be best if we just go at it." With the fort obscuring her from everyone else she brought her hand gently rest under her navel.

With a breath she slowly pulled her hand away, her skin seeming to follow for the briefest of moments before giving away to the hard metal. The shield grew in size, slowly taking it's shape with only it's handle tethering it to her. She gave a silent thank you that they were allowed to activate their quirks prior to the match as the entire process took a good thirty seconds. Once the shield finished forming it detached from her and gently floated in front of her until she brought her hand up to gently tap the metallic surface, after which it quickly floated to her side. "See? Not what you were expecting, is it?" She offered Itami a coy grin as she began to repeat the process. Another thirty seconds later and she had a second shield floating a good foot off the ground beside her. The shields were taller than she was by several inches with even their thinnest point wider than her. Even one of them was more than adequate of offering her complete cover.

With the pair of shields summoned she let out a small breath as she turned to face Itami, the shields following her movement to remain steadfastly at her sides. "They know what you can do after your fight with Barun Sensei, so it's probably best if I go out there and draw their attention. Not like they're expecting these." She said with a smile as she gently wrapped her knuckles against one of her shields. Of course there was also the fact that she didn't want to waste time with the slow approach. Timed or not she wanted to get it out of the way. The teacher signaled that they were up and with no complaints from Itami she focused her attention ahead. "Let's tear them a new one, I guess." She repeated her friend's proclamation and quickly sprinted forward, dashing from the fort with the pair of shields keeping pace beside her as she charged headlong towards their opponents.

Hitsukiri glanced in front of them seeing a girl with two metal 'slabs' following right beside her. It was almost insulting on how much of a strategic approach it was. At least they knew her quirk involved the two metal 'slabs' following her. Without sighing he unbuckled one of his flash bangs, and tossed one towards Hidari. In that same instant he exhaled fog out of his mouth, that quickly covered the distance between him, and the girl was now currently running into it.

His part was done at least for now. All he had to do know was for Hidari to lead him towards the entrance of the labyrinth. After that Hidari would go, and find the hostages while he would face against Shiri to stall for time. That was at least the plan for now. Glancing towards Hidari he waited to follow him, since he currently had his infrared goggles currently. He could only hope for Toki to not have enhance hearing somehow, as he waited for Hidari to make a move.

As soon as they got the go-ahead, Hidari rushed out of the fort with Hitsukiri at his side. While he had originally been looking for mannequins, he couldn't help but notice that Shiri's teammate was rushing towards the two of them, with what looked like two shields flanking both her sides. "Now, Okuhito-kun!" And just like that, Hitsu had breathed out a fog thick enough to conceal the both of them, as well as Toki who had been caught in the middle of it. Turning on the infrared goggles that Hitsu had lent him, Hidari could see Toki all lit up like a Christmas tree even amidst the fog. Keeping her current position tucked away in his memory, Hidari touched the goggles with one hand and used his Quirk to swap them into his left hand. It was quicker and easier way of taking them off. Hidari knew it would work as he often used his Quirk this way whenever he was in a hurry to change his clothes.

With Hitsukiri still running by his side, Hidari handed him his goggles back and then made a dash to the right, trying to give Toki a wide berth without leaving the fog. He didn't know what she could do with those shields just yet, but whatever the possibility, it probably resulted in pain.

Having passed Toki, Hidari kept the speed he was going until he had left the fog cloud. As soon as he got out he would stop and look around for any dummies in need of rescuing. He kept his focus solely on the ground, he knew there was no way he could reach any of the 'victims' hanging from the ceiling. Hidari noticed one not too far off and he began to jog towards it. There was one thing his eldest brother, Sho, had taught Hidari about running and it was to conserve your energy. 'Don't go all out right away, or you'll just run out of breath,' his brother had told him. When he reached the dummy, he picked it up, carried it under his arm and started to make his way back to the fort.

Kaoru was ready for a fight. This was gonna be fine all she had to do was keep up the assault and make sure that Avery could work his magic. She didn’t know what this new girl would do. Hmmm she wondered if points got taken off if you damaged the mannequins or if they just weren’t worth anything. She got into position as she prepared to rush the orange haired girl. She’d usually need to keep her shadow in her range of sight but that couldn’t happen right now all she could do was hope that they didn’t dock her for points if it accidently hit one.
At once both she and her shadow rushed out of the base. She couldn’t split her focus while she didn’t know the power of this new girl so she just focused on her shadow windmilling their arms hitting wildly in the general vicinity she believed Aruka to be in. Granted it probably wouldn’t do much but distract, but as soon as she had some feel for what this girl was capable of she’d split her focus. Damn sometimes having some senses on these would be more helpful than just existing.
She got to just what was considered combat range and attempted to elbow the orange haired girl straight in the gut. She didn’t need to win or even land a punch she just needed to distract them both to the best of her ability. Avery could handle the heavy lifting of the team.

Hitsukiri took the infrared goggles that Hidari gave back them, and quickly readjusted them onto his eyes. Turning them back on, he managed to see Toki within his own fog. Hidari had already dashed into the fog, and was likely to come back with a mannequin. Gripping his brass knuckles he equipped prior to the start of the match, he walked slowly up to her. Carefully without many sounds he looked at the distance between her. The odd thing was he couldn't see them with his goggles. He could only assume that they had to be the same temperature as the fog itself. Another problem in their plan. Slowly he inched closer to Toki's position. He had to assume that the shield were at least somewhat close to her. That until Toki seemed to disappear, and reappear from his infrared goggles. Was she trying to disperse the mist with her shields?

Hitsukiri quickly slid between the gaps of the moving shields. The mist was almost, so he acted quickly.. In an instant he lunged out, fist rearing back to punch Toki. He had at least hoped Toki's reaction time wasn't godlike, as his attack could easily be countered. Aiming for her solar plexus (because the chin was obviously a target that he couldn't reach), he shot his arm straight forth in a straight line, twisting it in order to get to put more power into it. His jab was prepared as soon as his punch connected.

Both of her opponents came out to meet her. As she approached one of them let out a billowing cloud of mist that rapidly expanded out to encompass her. With her vision blocked she slid to a halt. It took her only a moment to recognize her current situation and as such her shields rapidly extended to their maximum range. The pair began to rotate around her, using their large surface area and speed to create a whirlwind that cleared the mist away from her. While it lacked the power to remove the mist entirely it did give her a large clearing, giving her time to react should her opponents dive at her from within the mist.

And diving at her from the mist was exactly what one of the boys opted for. Using the gap caused by her whirlwind maneuver he slid through her defenses and charged her. There was only a brief window once someone entered her range. Indeed most opponents wouldn't take more than a second to close the gap. But as with everything it always boiled down to the numbers and no matter how fast that boy was, her shields were faster. As soon as the boy had slipped into her zone she raised her arms defensively. As she did so one of her shields flew up and over the boy, slamming into the ground directly between the two of them just in time to defend against his punch. The force from the shield's movement firmly embedded itself into the floor kicking up debris fragments and some dust.

She didn't know where the guy's partner was, and normally that fact would have her worry about her own defense. But she also knew Itami was there. This wasn't the one-on-two fight it looked like. So with that in mind she extended her right arm and swung it around to bring her fist into her chest. As if following her movements the other shield came in from the opposite side, aiming to slam into the boy on the other side of her barrier. She knew better than to go all out but even controlled, taking a hit from her weapons was quite the painful experience. And the sooner she could knock this guy out the sooner she could go and help Itami.

It was no surprise that being told to stay back really wasn't really resonating with Shiri. What she was saying did make a little sense though, so for the beginning of their bout he restrained himself to the role of guard-dog. It was boring, naturally. Toki dashed ahead, leading a one-woman charge into the enemy's front lines and here he was, just stood there.

Ah, god, it was like there were ants swarming over every part of his body. Every last one of them urging him to go running after her.

He wanted to go. See what these PSA kids were made of. An inch away from giving into his urges, abandoning his post, and leading a second charge he saw it. He saw him. Some flamboyantly dressed guy breaking away from the fog Toki had been trapped in and snatching up a mannequin behind her back like some sort of coward. Immediately, he moved. Strength flowed into his legs as he began to launch himself after the boy. Each bound growing longer and more violent. He built his momentum, each leap faster and faster until-

He didn't need to waste his strength on this.

His outstretched fist flew clear at true, rocketing forward with the momentum of his run. But, not at Hidari. Rather, his hostage. He remember what that guy had said. The dolls didn't count if they were damaged, right? Maybe it wasn't the most heroic plan of attack, but right now he wasn't concerned with that. The only things on his mind were winning, and getting a proper fight out of this.

And a surprise attack would hardly satisfy the latter.

His fist collided with the seemingly super speed shield. He gritted his teeth as he felt the recoil energy coming back at him, because of how the sturdy the shield was. Now she knew where he currently was, and her other shield was probably going to slam into his back given that it wasn't in his peripheral vision. Utilizing his quirk once more, he exhaled out fog and attempted to dodge to his left. He would of been successful... If it wasn't for the fact that the shield was faster then him. As soon as he did his hand, which was dragging himself behind was caught in between the shields. "Mother*****!" Hitsukiri yelled out in pain. He had to let go of his brass knuckle in his left hand in order to prevent it from becoming stuck.

He backed up once more into the safety of his fog, and moving in a different direction slowly. Engaging her into close combat wasn't going to work, even if he had the surprise factor. No matter what he did as long as she saw him, she would always be able to counter attack. Silently sighing once more, he grabbed onto his tools with his right hand. His left hand on the other hand seemed to be broken? He didn't know what was wrong with it as when he tried to stretched his fingers it ended up hurting. Hopefully it'll heal when he went to the infirmary after this.

Looking back Toki's direction, he was prepared to throw his flash bang at her. He had no chance against her fighting against her whatsoever considering that her shields were faster, and she had good reaction time. At any case he would have to go with plan B.

As the boy dodged the majority of her attack it became abundantly clear who was responsible for this fog as yet more of it billowed forth from the boy to fill the area she had managed to clear out. She took a few steps back, shifting her shield to stay between her and the boy as he disappeared into the fog yet again. Of all the opponents she could have faced she had to go up against a nuisance like this. If he could just keep spitting the stuff out it would only be a matter of time until he managed to slip through her defenses and get at her. With that in mind she took a few more steps back, one shield stalwartly before her as the other rapidly rotated around her in an attempt at both keeping her attacker at bay an clearing away the fog.

Her assailant didn't bother to show himself again causing her to slowly look around. Her sigh was hampered by the fog meaning by the time she noticed him it'd likely be too late. This fear was soon realized as a flashbang detonated off to her side. Obscured by the fog she had no time to re-position her shield to block the attack. She let out a yelp and instinctively brought her arm up to shield her eyes. As if the blinding light wasn't enough her ears were ringing to the point that she couldn't even hear her own footsteps, let alone her opponent's.

Immediately upon losing both her sight and hearing the pair of shields pulled in frighteningly close, hovering mere centimeters from her body as they began to rotate around her form at top speed. She didn't have enough shields to fully defend herself from all sides, but at least she could minimize the boy's ability to actually get at her. She stumbled back slowly as she found her balance difficult to keep, the shields remaining in position regardless of her movements. "Ita-" She was about to call out when she quickly silenced herself. Itami was surely doing her part, she couldn't saddle her friend with another problem.

She blinked rapidly as her eyesight returned to her. Although, even though she could see her vision was blurry and she was seeing after-images of her shields as they spun about her. She let out a bemused huff to herself at the sight. "I wish I had this many..." The words were mumbled to herself as she shook her head and again rubbed her eyes. Try as she might everything remained disorienting. With the boy being hidden in the fog she couldn't even retaliate. Being on the defensive like this wasn't a situation she enjoyed being in. Yet the only thing she could think of to get out of it wasn't any option anymore. If it wasn't for Itami she'd just bow out right there and give the other two the win. That fact caused her to grit her teeth as her shields once again slowly expanding their circle to clear away the fog. With no other options she'd just have to go for a repeat and hope this time she could land a solid hit.

Alari- Er, STARK NEO
"Right, er, yes. I mean... Thank you!" Alarica bowed, quick, curt, and jankily. She'd been expecting this kind of, er, demeanor from the masked hero in front of her, even encouraged it, but it was still a little overwhelming. She was just trying to match her would-be partner's pace but when faced with the genuine passion of her response, well.

Her first impression of this person was that they were 'very cool' at the very least. She cleared her throat, and got back to trying to match the mystery student's tempo.

"Stark Neo! Heroine of, uh..."
If he was the sun... "S-Shadow! Defending all those overcast with woe!" That sounded good, right? She could imagine it at a live show at the very least. Maybe not in one of the better series, but it had definitely been a while since she'd actually watch one of those, so if she were lucky... Er. Hoping luck was on her side like that probably wasn't very heroic. It was all about, like, self improvement and stuff nowadays, if she wasn't mistaken. Doing justice through your own strength. That sounded like a lot of work. Fortunately, the er, character she was playing right now, wouldn't let her start complaining about it. Well, even if she wasn't pretending to be some henshin hero from days gone past, it still would have been pretty shameful to complain about.

The kind of shameful that would have her avoiding calls from father for the next week. Probably avoiding this perky-sounding guy she was talking to as well.

"So, comrade!" Was that too Russian? "Let us find battle!"
