Kent let off a sigh of relief. "Finally, someone who understands. Now get what you just said, and forget every other magic you know. Then, you have me." He said.

Heading out to the halls, Kent actually found the book to be rather interesting. "Huh, this one isn't like the other books I've read. The last few I read basically just told me 'try harder, you're not doing this right'. This one is actually giving me some tips on how to focus during the summoning process." He said while flipping through a few more pages. It actually made sense to Kent, it was more a step-by-step breakdown of the process and how it works. Now this, he could work with.

As she left the comforts of the library and entered the long narrowing halls once more she felt her body go stiff.
"Yea..i mainly came to learn more about the modern magic in this time. I only know the old ways of magic. Which I guess isn't bad but if I'm going to make it in this world as it is now then I need to start learning what other people use"
She traced the spine on one of her books and then looked at kent.
"So..are you a witch of a sort? Warlock maybe?"

Kent chuckled at the question. "One of the only questions I can't answer. I can summon...and that's more or less it. I guess that would make me a summoner. But at the same time, I can reverse summon myself and sorta teleport. That seems more reliable than me actually trying to summon something else." He said while looking at the witch. "It's weird, I can't just summon creatures either, I've summoned demon guns, living armor, all kinda of stuff that I could only dream of using."

Callisto raised an eyebrow at the newcomers; appraising them. Vampires she knew, at least. They had wandered into the forest on occasion, although they usually didn't stay long. She hadn't had an opportunity to actually meet one yet, though. He did have an intimidating look on his face, and the air around him wasn't exactly welcoming.
The human wasn't a particularly welcome sight to her, but she knew that she would have to interact with humans fairly often if she wanted to convince them to stop destroying her brethren.
"I don't think he intended to be rude." She commented with a chuckle at Vienna's words. "Then again, perhaps he did. I don't know him after all."

Neferati felt sort of awkward at the interaction with the human and his friend , after that whole situation had passed she looked around and sighed " well if you'll excuse me ill be exploring this place a bit more. it was nice meeting you all". she gave them all her farewells and went down the hallway . Honestly she was more hungry than anything , but she started to have this odd aching feeling in her gut , as much as she loved talking to these new people , beings shes never seen , cultures she hasn't known she just didn't feel like she belong. Maybe that was just her stomach talking.

She walked past a few places , seeing a bunch of other students talking or walking around like her , she passed by a library . and though to herself why not? she opened the doors and was surprised to see so many books , so surprised she walked into a boy with wolf ears "ah.. sorry" , she then noticed hecate and another boy she had not seen

Keaton turned a bit of a deer-in-the-headlights look (oh, the irony) on Neferati, having been caught up in his mumblings. "Umm... Hi, sorry. Hi. I'm Keaton... Hi..." Okay, he was ridiculously flustered. This was getting annoying. Why were words not working for him today?

“Well if he did not intend to be rude, then he could have at least spoke with less of an attitude.” Vienna said to Callisto. She looked at the two of them, but said nothing and stepped back. Vienna didn’t entirely sit well with them and considering the fact that hundreds of years ago, she was taken captive by a vampire who bit her. When a vampire bites a dragon, the bite doesn’t do anything to them except give them a small case of hallucinations. But since Vienna isn’t a full dragon entirely, she had ran a terrible fever that left her in bed for about a year since he had injected her with poison from his fangs.

Vienna just let the other converse while she tried to contain herself. If her mother was here, she would have already given Vienna a lecture about the way she treats others when it comes to meeting a new person for the first time. This explains the reason why Vienna doesn’t have any friends, she’s too touch, intimidating and blunt which scares them away.

Hecates eyes widened as he spoke, only noticing some words from books she had read.
"Demon guns...living armour...that sounds, amazing"
She looked at him in disbelief at his words.
"Summoning magic..thats very interesting. My mom was good at that but i never saw her summon something that in which you speak of. Ive summoned animals and creatures of kinds but thats all"

"Well....you see..." Kent said as the look on his face began to drop. "I uh....can't control it. I can't really decide what I want. Only if I really, really focus will something actually work. Watch, I'll try and summon a minotaur."

Kent closed his eyes and held out his hand. What ultimately ended up happening was a small plant-like creature appeared on the ground, not even standing at a foot tall. He was green with small buds for eyes and a leaf that was made into a cute little hat. He held a small rose thorn in his hand like a sword and held a small rock as a shield.

Smiling, Kent picked him up gently and placed him on his shoulder. "Some minotaur Clover here is." He joked while the small plant-creature sat happily on his master's shoulder. "See. I'm taking self-defense class because I care about my summons. I don't just want to throw them into combat, I don't want them to be nothing more than weapons to me. They're some of the only friends I have, I won't lose them."

Neferati giggled to herself a bit , her claws touching the tips of lips as her hand was near her face while giggling. "No need to apologize , i was the one who bumped into you , sorry if i bothered you , i'm Neferati." she said as she looked around " this place is amazing , i love to read on my spare time.. Oh! pardon me, what is your name?" she asked tilting her head. with a pleasant smile on her face

She grinned widely as she looked at the small creature before them, her eyes following it as kent placed it on his shoulder.
"Ah! Thats amazing! Ive never seen something like that! Hes so small"
She wanted to reach out and touch bit knew better.
"Thats still amazing..you know humans have very low magical tendencies. The fact that we can even do it at all is amazing"
She smiled reassuringly at him and started walking down the hall once more.

"Yeah, he was one of the first things I was ever able to summon." Kent said while gently patting the small guy on the top of his little hat with his finger. Clover smiled at this and waved as Kent put his hand over the small plant creature and sent him back home. He followed behind the witch and let off a short sigh. "I've had armor try to force itself onto me and make me it's wearer, demon guns almost weld themselves to my hand, a dragon that tried to eat me, and so much more that I'm probably forcing into the back of mind so I don't have a panic attack." He replied while opening the book back up and beginning to read once again.

Hecate stroked the spines of her books nodding.
"That sounds horrifying..this generations magic is so..."
She sighed and shook her head.
"I dont know. It just seems like it will be too much for me and it seems like it was all made to either attack or defend the user. Its nothing that im used to. And everyone here is so used to it already and have such an easy time getting to know everyone"
She hugged the books too her chest and shook her head.

"Yeah, really horrifying. Have you ever tried to fend off living armor with a broom before? Let me tell you, it's bad." Kent said with a nervous chuckle as the memory came flooding back to him. It was no fun trying to fight off a suit of living armor, not fun in the slightest.

As the witch began to talk about "this generation's magic", he raised an eyebrow. "First off, talking to other people nearly makes me faint half the time. Secondly, what exactly are you used to then? I'm not exactly all that familiar with magic myself aside from what I can do."

She couldnt help but laugh a bit at the thought, also remembering a time with her mother.
"Not living armor no but there was a time when I forgot to close a portal and let a mischievous spirit into my home. And my mother took our broom and started trying to shoo it back inside"

The memories were nice and gave her a sense of calm but also the longing to be home. When the question came up she blushed.
"I-im sorry I know its probably strange its just that my mother was very old fashioned in her ways and magic. This is the kind of thing im used to"
She handed the old book to him with writing on the spine that looked more like symbols than letters. And inside it was filled with the same type of language and some illustrations.

"I'd take a mischievous spirit over that any day of the week." Kent said as the witch told her story. "And of course since I couldn't fight to save my own life, still can't I mean, I ended up throwing it into the washing machine and slamming the door on it."

At the mention of not being able to fight, Kent lowered his head somewhat. "Isn't that pathetic? I can summon all these insane weapons and I have absolutely no idea how to use them. I feel like I'd hurt myself instead of the other person if I tried." He said while rubbing the back of his neck. "I kinda doubt the teachers would have any idea on how to make 'em work either."

As he was handed the book, Kent opened it up and looked at the pages. He was maybe able to distinguish one sign out of the thousands that were in the book. He tilted the book as if it would help him read and merely looked up at the witch. "You have to teach me how to read this." He said with a grin on his face.

"Hey now..dont say that. People shouldnt talk down about themselves like that"
She frowned and wanted to cheer him up but was so awkward with how she should go about doing so she simply felt offering some good words would help.
"No one becomes great at something overnight you know. Ive spent everyday of my life pretty much learning about all the things I do, and thats 15 years that it took just to read a book like that among other things. I think just being able to summon some of those things is amazing."
She smiled and nodded.
"And id gladly try and teach you..though I cant say im much of a teacher"

Laughing at the fact that it took the girl nearly her entire life to learn to read these texts, Kent pushed his hair away somewhat. "And here I am, still nearly being eaten by half the things I summon and having the other half either be useless to me or try and corrupt my mind. I'm honestly even surprised I got accepted to this school, most schools turn me down since they know I'll put about forty different holes in my dorm alone! that's why I don't like using my magic, it always finds a way to backfire on me." He said as his grip tightened on the book. The look on his face was one of worry and almost immediate fear. Everyone else here practically outranked him by miles. He had no control over his powers whatsoever while the rest could rip him to shreds. To make it worse, he was sure that some of those people were in his self-defense class! Kent could already feel faint coming on as his breathing grew heavy.

Hecate could see him growing more and more upset and see his aura growing a dark color which started to make her nervous.
"h-hey now Kent its ok I know things can get a bit overwhelming"
Things were not looking like they were getting any better any time soon for him.
"Hold on ok?"
She took her room key from a little hidden pocket in her dress and plunged it into the wall closest to them, the wall lighting up before turning into her rooms door. She quickly opened the door and when she noticed her roommate was still nowhere to be seen she gently took Kents arm and lead him to her room slowly.
"I have some things that can help just come in and sit"
She hated seeing a friend in distress like this and she had to do what she could to help.

Kent only seemed to get worse. He was just murmuring incoherent phrases at the moment and clutching his hands tightly together as if he were trying to protect himself. Why did he ever agree to come here? The reality of the situation was finally starting to make itself known to the boy as he was led into Hecate's room. His breathing was getting worse and worse. He knew that this would only end in catastrophe. He was going to get hurt, or worse. He should have just stayed at his old school. Even though he was picked on there, at least no one really had full control over their magic. But here, here was an entirely separate league that Kent couldn't hope to catch up to in his current state.

Lucas watched as the woman with a halo backed out of the conversation. He envied her slightly as she strode away from the suddenly tense atmosphere into freedom. Vienna responded to Callisto by saying, “Well if he did not intend to be rude, then he could have at least spoke with less of an attitude.” It was obviously a call-out to the vampire. A bold move. However, Vienna seemed to lost her courage and took a step back. How curious. Hopefully the vampire hasn't given her a fright. Lucas turned his attention back to the two boys and noticed that the smaller one was now lightly holding the vampire’s arm. While he wouldn’t dare place his trust into this stranger quite yet, he could at least gauge by the human’s expression that they didn’t come with the intention to pick a fight. Suddenly struck by inspiration, Lucas blinked. The human. The vampire is too careful to let any of his intentions show through his posture and expression, but the human is more expressive. I can use the human’s reactions to gauge the vampire. “Would you gentlemen care to join our search? I don’t have my watch on me, but I believe that we are approaching the proper time for dinner.” In the end, it didn’t matter if the pair joined or not. Everyone would most likely see each other during meals or classes. It was just a matter of whether they would be interacting now or later.

Hecate managed to sit him down on her bed and though she couldnt do anything to help him right then she began to work on things that could and as fast as lightning she started to dig around her pouch for her pestle and mortar. She would glance back at him now and again as she quickly moved to the desk where the laptop sat, pushing it aside to make room for her things and all the while she mumbled things to herself quietly.

With a quick snap of her fingers she focused all her magical aura into her hands and dried herbs appeared before her.
"Just a few more minutes ok kent?"
She didnt look at him this time as she worked quick to grind them up into a fine powder. She scooped the powder into her hand and quickly moved to stand in front of him eye level, powder in hand she sighed and calmed.
"This may feel a little weird but it will help ok?"
She whispered a few more odd sounding words before blowing the powder in his face and then stepping back.
"You may feel a little dizzy at first, dont fight it just relax ok? And after that it should cleanse your mind, a sense of calm?"

Kent was still panicking when the dust got blew into his face. Only after a few minutes, Kent's breathing returned to normal and the boy seemed to mellow out. A big, dopey grin formed on his face as he relaxed into the pillow. "Definite sense of calm." He muttered while smiling and drumming his chest lightly. "Sorry 'bout that. I kinda...panic...when I think about stuff like that." He added, trying to explain why he had suddenly broken out into a panic attack.

Hecate let out a sigh of relief as she sat on the edge of the bed gently.
"Im glad your feeling better. Do you want a drink as well? Im sorry i can't say i have any food at the moment to help but i can do what i can"
She stood back up, regaining her own composure as collected herself.
"If you ever need any help with that i have things that can help calm the effects of anxiety, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness and so on"

Interacting with: food

As I walk in through the cafeteria doors, dressed in blue jeans and a fitted orange shirt, I spot some food on the counter and head towards it. My stomach's been growling since I got here a few hours ago. I pick up the food tray and head to sit at one of the tables. When I sit down I notice that the room was completely empty. I hope I'm not doing something wrong I think.

I begin the process of eating the hamburger that was provided for me. If this school wanted good first impressions this was an excellent way to do it. As I finish my burger and commence the consumption of my fries I begin to think about finding all of my classes. My stomach kind of instinctually led me to the cafeteria. I finish my meal and exit the room wondering what sort of adventures I might have here, and the reason why I came here in the first place.
