His food source was usually grumpy when he awoke. He was used to it. Arata had never been cheerful, even when they were just children. But he wasn't sullen like Makoto was. He was always yelling and demanding the attention of everyone around him. Even now, he wasn't the easiest human to be around. He would often still get into scuffles, causing Mako to drag him by the shirt away from everyone. Hence why he couldn't really leave his angry human alone.

Mako nearly scoffed when the smaller male spoke. "I wish to see what's causing the noise, I do not need to be spoken to as if I'm a dog." He answered in a flat, unamused tone. He opened the door to the dorm room and walked in front of Arata. His eyes, like a shark's, scanned the halls until he found the source of most of the noise. There was a group of students, there, and he glided over.

"What seems to be the issue?" He asked curtly, raising an eyebrow. The group in front of him reminded him of his siblings, all different looking, but all rather loud, considering they managed to wake him.

Kent continued to silently walk until he came across the entrance of the library. When he opened the door, he found that it was almost like heaven. Books of various shapes and sizes filled the massive shelves and it seemed almost endless. He walked by another male and saw him holding a red riding hood book. Why would they even carry that? Was it really that hard for people to learn how to read? Oh well, to each their own. Making an odd face, Kent walked by the other male without saying a single word and began to browse some more "appropriate" books.

Hecate began to walk away from the group only to pass a boy with glasses that gave off an uncomfortable aura. And as she passed him her eyes quickly looked down as she brushed past him. The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she kept walking. She just wantes to get to the library.

As she wandered she realized she had no idea where she was going.
"I shouldnt have left that handbook.."
In a hurry to get out of her room she realized she left it in her satchel. She frowned as she looked around aimlessly.
It wasnt until she came upon some doors that she had some hope of finding what she was looking for. She looked up and noticed a small plate on the wall that read 'LIBRARY'.
"Finally"
The door was pretty tall to accommodate bigger species so she huffed a bit as the doors opened wide. And what she was met with was the smell of old and what she assumed was new books. Books of all kinds and sizes.
"Wow..."
Her wide eyes sparkled as shebstood on her tip toes to get a look at allbthe books.

More students.
It seemed like everyone was coming out of the woodwork now. Lucas couldn't help the slight frown when he saw the newcomers approach. The shorter one was definitely human, but the taller one had an unmistakable presence. Vampire. Lucas was hoping not to run into one, but he supposed that it was inevitable at an academy like this. Vampires don't live long by being kind, which often leads to some significant problems. He gave the human a concerned once-over, but he appeared fine. The...boy? No, this academy wouldn't accept someone so young. He's probably just short for his age. The adolescent seemed to be at ease too, despite his companion's unwelcoming demeanor. Certainly not all vampires were malicious, but this vampire's expression seemed to imply that he was not one of the gentler ones. Stepping forward and in front of the ladies, it'd be cowardly to leave the women exposed, he offered the vampire a short bow. "I apologize if we've disturbed you, but I assure you that everything is fine." Giving the ladies behind him a careful glance, he added, "We were actually just discussing about the possibility of locating a dining hall."

Hecate was sure to stay quiet which wasnt hard since she wasnt wearing shoes. So quiet in fact if you werent paying attention you probably wouldnt even know she was there walking from bookshelf to bookshelf trying to find the best place to start. One of her personal goals was to find a special book that would answer a life long question shes had. She walked by a boy with fuzzy ears, wolf maybe? Reading Little Red Riding Hood which made her smile. She loved that book and if he was a wolf she couldnt help but see the humor.

She finally saw on one of the bookshelves the genre she was looking for. She turned and looked down the expanse line of shelves and books and for a moment almost felt overwhelmed in her search for a certain kind of book.
"Oh my.."
She whispered and with some quick work of her hands put her long hair up and into a messy and still quite long ponytail. She started to browse through the books one by one, each in alphabetical order by author and the many books each had written.

Shaking his head a bit over-dramatically, Keaton put the storybook back on the shelf, making a mental note of where it was so he could bring it to the attention of a staff member later. There were a lot of wolves that he knew would fly into a bloodthirsty rage. Over a children's storybook. Keaton was a bit embarrassed to admit that his kind really could be just that sensitive about these things, especially around the time of the full moon.

Speaking of the full moon, he would have to remember to ask about any accommodations offered during that time. Surely, he wouldn't be made to stay in the dorms during such a time. He would need to find out about that as soon as possible. The full moon was only a week away, after all, and he'd have to sniff out the area he'd be in before he changed, or risk losing total control from the unfamiliar scents.

Still lost in thought, Keaton decided to go looking for a book on botany. He had a bit of a side project going, trying to make a potion that would make his human mind more aware while in his wolf form. There was still something missing, and he wasn't willing to test the potion until he figured out how to keep the various ingredients together without diluting their properties so much as to be ineffective.

"Well, there is no need to raise your voice love," Vienna said as she saw another newcomer. He seemed tensed and uneasy, he was too forward which Vienna didn't like. Vienna let out a soft chuckle, coming from a whole kingdom of dragons, her people would have never apologized without straightening out their reason for what they have done. Vienna looked at Lucas and she shook her head, "You know you could ask nicely to tell us to keep our voices down?" Vienna told him as she made eye contact with the vampire in front of her. Vienna had come across his kind in her times, and it didn't go so well, so she hoped that this time there would be no blood shed.

Kent was able to make sure work of the library system. It seemed to him, that each and every book was organized by subject matter and the very books themselves were organized in series depending on the author and were in perfect order. This was Kent's no favorite place in the entire school, hands down.

Browsing the various books, he saw the wolf from earlier doing the same. So he could read? Or maybe, he was just looking for some more children's books? At this point, it was honestly hard for Kent to tell.

While he wasn't looking for anything in specific, Kent did manage to come across a book called "Summoner's Guide". It seemed like the perfect book for someone like Kent. Taking it and putting it carefully under his arm, the boy continued to browse. He saw the young lady next to him and let out a sigh of relief as he realized she too was human. It wasn't so much that Kent didn't like other races, they were just so unfamiliar to him. That's why he decided to take a current events class for them. He wanted to know their cultures better.

Even though he didn't really say much, Kent offered a small smile and continued browsing, a few fantasy books catching his eye. One about lycanthropes (aka werewolves), one of the most interesting subjects in the boy's opinion. It was a mystery book on who the wolf was during a full-moon. Kent would happily be checking that book out.

((Good chance to get some wolf protests going on lol))

Hecate brushed passed most of the newer looking books, assuming they wouldnt have the answers she needed and she also avoided books that seemed to mostly be about myths since what she needed couldnt be based of a persons wondering. She then sensed someone come into the same area she was in while also catching the movement of the wolf boy from earlier and realized so far that they were the only people in here besides the librarian. It was nice to see that others were into books and research as she was. She looked at the person next to her right as he looked at her and offered a smile. It shocked her for a moment before she nervously smiled back, looking at the book he picked out.
"Werewolf..or Lycanthrope. A person with the ability to shape shift. In the early 15th century around the time of the Witch hunts there was also a wide spread hunt on supposed Werewolves and didnt end until sometime in the 18th century.."
She stopped suddenly when she realized she was going on, quickly closing her mouth and turning back to the books in front of her.
"I-im sorry..I get a little ahead of myself sometimes"

Kanji grinned at his new masterpiece currently covering the entirety of his dorm room, a large mess of ink meticulously crafted into perfected triangular patterns throughout adorning both the walls, floors, and even some of the ceiling. Satisfied with his new creation, he decided to start wandering the hallways searching for new inspiration from his fellow students. It was the most foolproof plan! At least, in the mind of the slightly burnt out artist.

And so, ink brush and sketchbook in hand, he started off into the hallway, having already tucked his room keys into his sash for safe keeping.

As soon as Keaton heard the word "werewolf," his attention was caught and his head whipped around to look at the other two, eyes slightly narrowed as he slowly moved closer. He really couldn't help but to growl at the mention of the hunts on his kind. "If those humans hadn't trespassed on our territory, there never would have been attacks that lead them to hunt us. We defended our land and they responded by slaughtering scouts, caretakers, even pups!" Though Keaton himself had not been alive at the time, he clearly had intense emotions on the subject.

Before she could react Keaton was on them almost out of nowhere, the sounds of his growl making her drop the two books she had picked up and beyond them she could see the librarian leaning over to look at the small group intensly. The intense feelings Keaton was giving off maybe her recoil as she leaned into the bookshelves while looking at him wide eyed. And as usual her magic was flaring up and starting from her fingertips as its energy worked its way up and into her very soul as she prepared to defend herself. She scolded herself for saying those things out loud.
"I-im sorry! I shouldnt have said those things..I-i was just repeating what ive read from other books and gathered about the history on the werewolf species. I-i think its horrible what happened to your people..."

Her heart ached at the thought, knowing what it was like to hear about your peoples loss. The witch hunts were devastating on Hecate's kind as well and to this day there are almost none of the original witches left, the only once living she knew being the mother who raised her and right now she knew any day that her mother would be gone.

She started putting her hands up in defense as she stared at Keaton intensely, her eyes penetrating and serious.

Kent sat there, amazed. Finally, another scholar! Oh he had waited for this day for years upon years. "No, you're fine. It's always nice to meet a fellow book-worm. Did you know that their fur almost serves as a thick hide, offering them incredible endurance?" He said, a sudden look of intrigue on his face as he began to talk with this young witch. Until suddenly, another male came in, clearly enraged by their conversation.

"I-I'm sorry?" Kent said as he placed his books down and looked at what he presumed to be a werewolf and back to his new companion. As he spoke, Kent shook his head. "That's not true." He said calmly as he tried to offer a new perspective. "According to humans we were attacked first. It was a werewolf that attacked a European town and initially kicked off the hunts in the first place. I'm not at all condoning what happened, I know there was a chance at peace between the two races, but both were more so concerned about killing off the other." He didn't realize that this sounded a bit rude. He was merely listing off the facts as human understood them. Of course, he had no problems being around a wolf, but he was still definitely nervous.

Keaton closed his eyes, taking deep breaths and trying to not let them come out as snarls. "I... I apologize if I frightened you... It's really no excuse, but my emotions tend to run high around this time and I already feel strongly about the wrongs done to my kind..." His ears flattened against his skull, his expression somewhere between embarrassed and apologetic.

"I suppose I can accept that the blame for the past is shared by all." His expression became a bit more sullen as he continued, "I wouldn't go around saying those things right now, though. Not all werewolves are willing to listen to the defense of humans, especially around the time of the full moon. Just be careful, okay?"

Hecate kept her back up against the books, their familiar edges pressing into her back gently, almost reassuringly as she watched the two. She had come across beasts and animals in the forest where she lived but they were only doing what they do naturally and this..though his actions were a bit justified was a knowledgeable person, werewolf or no, which almost scared her even more. She didnt want to be scared though, she couldnt afford to be that person. She looked at Kent and how well he was handling this despite some of the things he had said and she took this as motivation. She straightened up and calmed her magic down enough to feel grounded.
"You dont need to apologize..I said some things that was easy to take offensively. Ive never had to filter before. I apologize to both of you truly for starting an issue when im sure we were all just here to find some books"

She leaned down and picked up the scattered books she dropped, making sure their pages hadnt bent and the spines were still in good shape.

"Yes, I really didn't want to offend anyone on my first day." Kent said as he put the offensive book down and back where he had found it. "Really, I'm sure if the roles were reversed, we'd be in the same situation, so there's no need to apologize." He added with a soft smile.

Trying to be as friendly as he could despite what had just happened, Kent held out a hand. "I'm Kent." He said, waiting for the other male to shake it. "I wish we hadn't of met like this, but it's still nice to at least get formalities out of the way."

Keaton simply stared for a moment before taking Kent's hand and giving it a firm shake. "Keaton. Seriously, sorry for freaking out on you with no warning. I swear I'm usually only this high-strung a few days out of the month. I hope we can become friends, even though my first impression kinda sucked...?" He trailed off, tilting his head slightly with wide eyes. He didn't know anyone in this school and he was missing his pack, making him try to seek to form a new pack among these strangers.

Hecate held her books close as she watxhes the two who seemed to be growing friendly fast. Do males forgive and forget like thia usually? She started to slowly step back when another book caught her eye, one with detailed symbols on the spine and in a language she recognized. With a gleeful smile she snaggrd it and put it with the other two books in her arms. She looked back at the two gentleman and sighed. She couldnt figure out how these people made friends so easily and could interact so well.
"I guess ill just..go check these books out"

Andrew didn’t have many possessions since running away, but his friend Sinclair the Shaman had provided him with what he would need for the academy. Even though it was just some clothes and books Andrew was very grateful to his mentor. He had expressed this gratitude when the old Shaman dropped him off at the school. Sinclair said that he wasn’t good at goodbyes so he quickly disappeared into the cover of the trees in the way that only a mage could. So now it was up to Andrew to make the best of this. So he started to walk toward the front door.

As he entered the building he noticed other students in the hall. Some were clearly non-human, something that Andrew was still getting used to as he hadn’t encountered many other supernatural beings. So for now he just wanted to unpack his stuff and give himself a little bit to adjust to this new situation. After several minutes of wandering the halls Andrew found dorm room five. Pulling out the long silver key he had been given he inserted it into the lock. As he turned the key there was a creak that made the door sound centuries old. However, when Andrew opened the door, he realized his room was not centuries old, rather it was quite modern.

There were two beds of decent size with stylish blue sheets, meaning a roommate. Whoever Andrew’s roommate was had not arrived yet, so he decided to claim the bed closer to the window. All his life Andrew had liked staring out at the stars from bed, it calmed him down. He put his single suitcase and backpack down on the bed then gave the room a good look. Close to both beds were sturdy looking wooden desks and an office chair. What surprised Andrew was the chrome coloured laptop on the desk. He went over to it and saw what model it was.

“Who would’ve thought a magic school would have such a new computer?” Andrew muttered to himself.

Next to the desk was similar looking bookshelves, bustling with books of different sizes and ages. Most of them were a complete mystery to Andrew: Grimoire Necrosis, Veritas Inferno, Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong? However at the end of the row was something he knew, The Raven and other stories. Andrew was a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe and he wondered if there was a library with other such books. However for now Andrew was going to put his stuff away and then go out into the hall and talk to the other students. Wasn’t one of them a demon? Andrew figured he should get used to it as he put his clothes into the dresser by the window.

Kent grinned as the werewolf took his hand and shook it. "Don't worry, I understand how werewolves get during this part of the lunar cycle. I may not look it, but I know a bit more than I like to let on sometimes." He said, knowing that his words would put him to ease somewhat. Taking his much less offensive book on summoning, Kent looked over to the witch and said,"I'll join you. I just need this one here."

Keaton offered what he hoped was a friendly grin before turning to look back at the shelf he had been perusing. "I guess I'll talk to you guys later? I still need to find an advanced text on obscure herbs..." He blushed lightly when he realized what he'd said. He was well aware that he did not look like the intellectual type. "Umm... So yeah, a book about, you know, plants and... And stuff..." Ducking his head, he continued mumbling nonsensically as he shuffled awkwardly away.

He suppressed a snort, frowning to himself. "I didn't mean it to sound like that," He muttered as they headed out into the hallway. Not all vampires were as, well, intimidating as Makoto was, Arata knew; his younger siblings ran the gamut from sweet-natured to simply loud and boisterous. (While he had taken a bit of offense to simply being stepped in front of like that - he wasn't entirely sure if that was typical Mako or some sort of "protecting one's own food source" instinct or what -- he always seemed to be learning something new about his friend.)

While he didn't have anything in the way of heightened senses or instincts, Arata could tell that his friend's very presence had made everyone else in the hall uneasy at best and uncomfortable at worst. Making a bit of a grumbly noise himself, he noted the concerned way the demon (if that's what he was) looked him over when he stepped out from behind his friend. Unconsciously, he tugged at his sleeves.

"Not exactly a good first impression. Sorry 'bout that." He said, softly, that resting mild irritation on his face (although at the moment he felt none). At the female's comment that Makoto could have asked nicely he suppressed another snort, managing just a tiny smirk. He didn't think it was an unkind thing to say, just perhaps a bit short of a tone. Still, he reached out and dared to take a light, careful hold of the vampire's arm, unafraid. Just in case there was any sort of an issue, he wanted to be able to be able to head it off. "...that isn't a bad idea, actually," He mused, in response to the demon's comment. While his roommate had already eaten, it'd be a good idea for everyone else here, him included.

Hecate looked at kent and the book he was holding and was happy to see another human interestes in magic, though sometimes it was hard to see herself as just human from the way she was brought up. She nodded when he said he would join her. It would have been rude if she said no anyways even though she was worried she may say something else wrong.
"Yea, sure"
As keaton walked away she raised her hand in a small wave.
"Nice to..meet you.."
She had a lot of books on botany, had she known she may have offered her assistance but instead started for the counter. She looked back at kent to see if he was still there.

Kent offered a small wave to the werewolf as he and Hecate left to go check out their books. "Kent." He said at the awkward introduction. "But I'm uh...sure you knew that already." He added as the went to the counter. Kent let the witch go first before handing in his own book to borrow. After it was stamped, Kent immediately opened up the book and began to scan through it surprisingly quick. Letting off an annoyed sigh, Kent said,"You know how many of these books I've read? I still can't get my summoning under control."

When she turned to kent as he started talking.
"Well..i guess its good they have classes for us. Summoning is still pretty difficult for me too depending on what it is. That and i just don't like to use that magic much"
She found it very easy to talk when it came to books and what not apparently. But then again thats all she really knew.
