Fantasy Bermuda Academy - Courtyard/School Halls/Clubs

Upon hearing the word ‘ruler’ Lucas immediately straightened his back. He took a moment to gauge the apparent goddess in front of him. Now that he took the time to concentrate, she didn’t feel like a yokai or a demon. Although a part of her did seem reminiscent of a dragon, there was something else too. Perhaps she feels different because she’s of royal blood? At any rate, she didn’t seem malicious. That didn’t mean that he could relax though. A Queen deserved respect.

Offering her another smile, this one tinged with some embarrassment, Lucas replied, “Ah, well I was searching for a parlor. I assumed that the academy would have one for the students. It appears that I got a bit turned around though.” He gave the handbook in his hand a somewhat sour look. “It also appears that I do not know how to read a map.” Shutting the handbook, Lucas held out his arm for Vienna. “If it pleases you, perhaps we could search for the parlor together? I would hate to leave Your Highness unaccompanied.”

Keaton watched his roommate with some trepidation before shrugging and moving to stand, stretching his arms high above his head as he did so. "Well, if you need me for anything, I'll be scouting out the common areas. Getting to know the place. All that good stuff." He gave a slight wave to the other before turning to the door, checking his pocket to make sure he had his key before leaving. "Talk at'cha later, Kanji."

She looked at Hecate surprised , she would've never suspected that hecate would of lived a life of such seclusion well she only just met the girl. " well, if it makes you feel any better , i consider you my friend.." she blushed a bit " i've never lived anywhere besides under the sea.. i've only heard of other beings besides my kind in textbooks." she stopped and look to see two more people consulting each other and called out to them " Excuse me? Hello!" she called out , maybe they could help with Hecate's problem

A smile krept on her lips when he began to treat her like the queen that she was. Vienna shook her head to him, "Please... I am just a normal 'teenage' girl who came here to make friends." Vienna said with a soft chuckle. He was sweet and cute and something came to her when she remembered who his father was. Vienna had heard of the Remmington family since they had tried to make a deal with the dragons trying to request guidance and protection. "Sure, why not. But please do not fret yourself with the formalities." Vienna said to Lucas since she saw how his whole personality changed when he heard she was a ruler. Vienna looked around as she heard something and when she turned around, she saw that it was a girl who was calling out to her and Lucas when Vienna took Lucas's arm, but slowly let go when the girl approached them. "Well...hello to you to. Are you lost as well?" Vienna asked, seeing that everyone who went here had a confused look on their face.

"You be careful now! Don't forget to write!"

Those were the last words Kent heard as he gave his mother a tight hug and received a knoogie from his dad before he pulled out his key and turned it in his bedroom door, it swinging open and revealing an entirely new room. Smiling at the dorm room, Kent moved in his few belongings and smiled. "Bye." He said quietly and waved to his parents before the door shut.

After unpacking all of his belongings, Kent let off a short sigh and looked out the window and saw the beautiful day outside. Even though Kent wasn't the most social person on the planet, he wouldn't argue that it was nice out there. Stepping outside, Kent took in a deep breath of the new air and smiled. Before, he was extremely nervous about coming here, but a sudden calm washed over the human. Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as he had thought.

Her heart lept at the thought of a friend. She had read many books that talked about the main antagonists friends and she always dreamed of the thought. Though she was never lonely at home this was something she had wanted to experience. She smiled brightly at her.
"And I you! Ive dreamed of seeing the sea..maybe one day. Theres so much I have yet to experience and its a little overwhelming to realize ive been completely cut off from this world. Though my mother didnt do it to hurt me. She wanted to make sure I was ready."
While she was warming up she wasnt prepared coming face to face with two more people. Not only that but two more amazing looking people. She was still human after all and only knew what she read in her books or experienced in the woods. Not to mention there was a boy. How was she suppose to act around the male species? She couldnt turn to her books for that answer since more often than not they girls were flustering, blushing messes and she certainly didnt want to be that.

Callisto
Callisto phased through her tree into the center of the courtyard, coughing and covered in ink. Her clothes didn't have a speck of ink on them, it was only on her skin. The few bags she had with her fell onto the ground beside her. She was wearing a light green dress with a white sash around the waist.
Callisto turned around and glared at the offending ink on her tree. She placed the palm of her hand onto the Ash tree, releasing a gentle white glow. The ink slowly faded from her tree and her own skin until there was nothing left. After she had done that, she left the courtyard with her bags to go find her room. After entering the school, Callisto stared at her map as she walked, trying to make sense of it.
After a bit of effort, Callisto came across her room. Upon entering she realized that her roommate had already been there, and had since left. Callisto put her things down, and made the quick decision that she wanted to meet some fellow students.
After she left her dorm room, it wasn't very long until she came upon a group of several people who were talking to each other in the hallway.
"Hello all." She greeted them all with a smile.

"Do not fret yourself with formalities,” the Dragon Queen had said. Certainly, that will prove to be easier said than done. Lucas felt Vienna grab his arm but then let go as two more ladies approached. He couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed at a missed opportunity to get to speak with such an interesting woman in private. However, two more arrivals meant an opportunity to make two new acquaintances. Turning to face the two ladies, Lucas examined them. The woman dressed in a robe appeared to be nervous, but he didn’t mind. Rather, he gave her an excited grin. He hadn’t seen a witch in centuries! The magic around her was unmistakable, even after all of this time. He had begun to think that they were extinct. After all, the Witch Hunts and sudden boom in technology had struck a significant blow to the magic practicing human population. Turning his attention to the third woman, Lucas couldn’t help but become curious again. Like Vienna, this woman was of unknown origin to him. An unfamiliar race. This year certainly won’t lack excitement.

Before he got a chance to properly greet the women, a new voice spoke up. “Hello all.” Once again, Lucas found his attention redirected to another lady. She appeared more human than Vienna and the third woman, but she certainly wasn’t a human. Lucas gave a quick bow to the women before he could be interrupted. “Good day ladies,” he greeted politely.

Neferati was about to explain her situation but heard another voice and looked behind her to see another girl , Upon examining at her she noticed how soft and delicate her features were . " ah hello! , its nice to meet to you" , she did a small curtsey remembering her manners this time. "Im Neferati."

Kent had chosen to stay away from the large collection of people, feeling that it wasn't really his cup of tea. Instead, he went off and found a nice tree to sit under. Reaching into the messenger bag that he would need for school, Kent pulled out a worn novel that he had read at least fifty times at this point. Cracking it open once again, Kent began to read. It was just something to take his mind off of these new surroundings and hopefully center himself somewhat.

At this point, all Kent could wish for was to just live a normal life here on campus. He probably wouldn't leave his dorm much after the first few days, but that's to be expected of someone like him. Oh well, at least he would pop his head out once in a while to get something to eat or maybe go and visit a teacher if he had a question.

Callisto
Callisto smiled and offered a graceful curtsy as a further greeting. "My name is Callisto. It's wonderful to meet you, Neferati." She paused for a second before addressing everyone else. "It's a pleasure to meet the rest of you as well."
She noticed several of the people here were very visibly not human. It was interesting to her, as she had never been outside of her forest, so she hadn't seen any other beings beside Dryads and Hamadryads. She noticed everyone here seemed to be very well-mannered, especially the boy with the horns. She was looking forward to learning more about the other students at the school.

"The more the better," Vienna said with a smile as she saw newcomers. Vienna looked around and saw how many new acquaintances she would be making and possibly friends. She had never had a friend in her life, apart from her father and mother who were only playing the parental role. Vienna wanted more people 'close to her age,' or at least seemed to look like they were close to her age considering the fact that half of the students here were old as hell, Vienna is one of them. At first she didn't think that going to an academy was right for her considering her age, but her parents, mostly her mother forced her to go and try to bond with others close to her age so that she could have people that she could possibly lean on while her father was more against it since he knew that she could gain twice as much knowledge with the village elder dragons since they had been around for more the centuries. Too old to fly that's for sure, they fall out of the sky as if they were flies. Vienna looked to see another girl coming their way and she flashed another smile at the new girl. After everyone had introduced themselves, Vienna went out and spoke, "Hi, my name is Vienna. It is nice to meet you all." She said.

Suddenly more and more people started to gather and though in her head this is what she had wanted, to be meet and get to know many new people. But this many, all talking and having no issues getting to know one another was starting to become overwhelming. She thought she could handle it but she could feel her magic stirring and overwhelming her in a protective sense. It only happened at times when she needed to be defensive but for some reason was rearing its head now. She looked at the smile Lucas gave her and she managed a kind smile back before bowing and looking back to Neferati
"I-i..should get going here..I have things to..get to know. But please stop by and say hello again sometime"

Kent continued to read, flipping through the various pages of his book and more or less enjoying the time he had to himself. He knew it wouldn't last long though, eventually someone would come over and introduce themselves. Of course, Kent wouldn't be rude and insult whoever that so happened to be by asking them to leave. It was just, big groups were never his strong point. He'd much rather have his small group of friends (if he even got them, that is) than be stuck in some big mess of people chit-chatting. It just wasn't for him.

Shaking off those thoughts, Kent tried to put himself back into his book. Even though he knew the entire story by heart at this point, it was still fun to go back and reread the adventures that took place.

Callisto
Callisto looked over at the girl who seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and excusing herself. "Are you alright?" There was a strange air surrounding her, but Callisto couldn't quite identify it. She assumed it was magic of some sort.

At the beginnings of magic, Lucas whipped his head towards the source. The witch's nervousness had developed into mild panic. Ah, poor girl. A little too much too soon. He figured that her reaction was justified. Witches weren't common occurrences for a reason. "Are you alright?" The newcomer's face indicated that she felt the magic too. Good. As long as she's aware she'll use caution. We don't want to push the young lady.

Trying to help, Lucas quickly interjected. "I suspect that this day has tired you out, correct?" he addressed to the witch. "I agree that it'd be best if you retired for the evening. I trust that you can find your way back to your chambers? Or do you require an escort?" While bonding with his peers was important, seeing to the young lady's safety was a much more pressing concern.

Hecate glanced over at Callisto, focusing her mind on just her for the moment as she hugged herself gently.
"Yes I..im sorry thank you for your concern. Im afraid im not quite ready for large groups yet. I really dont wish to inconvenience anyone."
She then also picked up on Lucas speaking to her, her attention then zoning in on him with magic that was weak but potent. Something her mother taught her to use when needing to focus her minds energy on someone.
"I would say your right..but as I mentioned I really dont wish to inconvenience anyone. You all seem to be enjoying yourselves"
She then moved her hand up her arm and to her hair as she moved it from her face.
"Your both very kind though thank you"

He had hoped that a school environment would be quieter than his home. However, instead of loud, obnoxious siblings, there were hormonal, mischievous teenagers. He woke up to the sound of conversation in the hallway, so he moved to get out of bed and dress. Once he slid his spectacles on, he allowed his eyes to adjust so he could see his wardrobe properly. He selected a pair of navy slacks, a white, button up shirt, a blazer to match his pants, and black dress shoes. He walked to the other bed and looked at the still sleeping human. Slightly annoyed that he wasn’t awake yet, Mako sat down on the bed beside Arata, and sat him up against the wall.

He proceeded to pull the male’s wrist towards him, examining it for a few moments before clenching his fist around it with a grip of iron. His teeth sank into the vein that protruded out the most, and he made a satisfied sound as breakfast flooded his mouth. After that was done, Arata was very much awake.

“Arata, we’re going outside. Dress in proper clothes.” Noises that reminded him of the yelling his youngest sister was so fond of could be heard outside. What sort of gentleman would he be if he didn’t investigate?

Neferati felt sort of bad, she sort of dragged her friend into this whole mess, she could see how anxious she was. "ah.. alright.. please take care of yourself. I'll come visit if you like!" she said trying to cheer herself and hecate up. she fiddled with the halo around her shoulders and looked to the rest of the group , she never seen there kind before , but it was obviously rude to ask what they were she was quiet for a moment before thinking to herself. " i wonder if there is a place to dine here..." Neferati said not realizing she spoke outloud

Arata wasn't a particularly heavy sleeper, but he wasn't easily awakened. Especially not curled up the way he was. But there was no wakeup call quite like a set of teeth sinking into his wrist. Coming back sharply into consciousness, he took in a hiss through gritted teeth, only wincing a bit (to his credit) as his friend fed off him. Swearing under his breath and pressing his sleeve lightly over the bite marks once he was released, the human watched his roommate for a few short moments.

Save for what he was told directly, everything outside the dorm was a bit fuzzy soundwise - his hearing wasn't as sharp - but he could already tell that this would be more like home than either of them bargained for. Stretching and giving a small yawn, he pushed himself away from the wall and stood, shuffling over to get himself dressed as well. Proper clothes, Mako had said. Grumbling, he complied. If he had to guess, that meant nothing ridiculously oversized.

There wasn't exactly a uniform code here, which worked out well for his sensibilities. Pulling his own clothes on - a nicer shirt under a sweatshirt that was better suited to someone of his stature (also known as one that wasn't three sizes too large), dark pants, the usual pair of beaten, red sneakers - he gave another stretch and managed a slight grin at his friend. This was the only person (for a given value of person) that would see this softness out of him, if one could call it that. "You want to go see what all this noise is about, huh?"

Callisto nodded at the magic user's explanation. "You aren't inconveniencing anyone, that I can assure you. We're having fun with you as well." Even though Callisto was trying to make the girl feel better, she knew that she would probably still want to leave. She turned her attention to Neferati.
"I'm sure there is a place to eat somewhere in the Academy." She commented.

"RISE AND SHINE, BARZATH! YOU CAN'T INHERIT MY EMPIRE IF YOU SLEEP THROUGH THE CROWNING!"
Came the voice of the Devil himself, loud enough to bust a hole in the wall of his son's room. Barzath merely rolled over and moaned into the pillow, "No wonder humans think our world is where the souls of the damned end up."
Bazrath's blanket was ripped off of his body, and he twisted in mid-air in order to avoid cracking his skull open on the ceiling of his room. His wings spread wide enough to block out the light from hisw indow, and small, glowing runes began to line up around him as he began to chant:
"Ajra Nukris Borzan-"
Barzath's father caught on immediately and shouted over the chanting, "If you don't stop that, I'm going to-"
Barzath merely chanted louder. "Tebener Qabra Osennu Fronzel Raal-"
Before Barzath could say the last two syllables, Lord Satan snapped his fingers, and his son's discarded sheets spontaneously encased Barzath, becoming a straitjacket and muzzle so that he could only writhe on the floor and make muffled threats. His father grabbed the key, which sat conveniently on Barzath's nightstand, plunged it an inch deep into the floor, and twisted it 90 degrees. A giant crack opened below the two of them, and while his father merely hovered above it calmly, Barzath plummeted into the gaping hole towards his demise and had to watch as the opening, now above him, sealed itself back up... Along with his fate.
A few seconds later, another hole opened, and some suitcases tumbled out of it. Barzath hopped over, thinking that through some pipe-dream he could climb up before it closed. He failed. Defeated, Barzath inchwormed back to the bed and tried desparately to get some sleep.

Keaton wandered aimlessly around for a while, managing to find a lounge filled with squishy beanbag chairs and the biggest television screen he'd ever seen. In the corner was a table with a popcorn machine and a microwave. He assumed the cabinet above held snack foods. Before moving on, he made a mental note to ask about hosting game nights in the large area.

The next room he found was a library with more shelves than he'd ever seen, filled with more books than he knew existed. Picking up the first book he saw, a grimace scrunched his face up in a less than pleasant way. "Little Red Riding Hood? Seriously?!"

Callistos words brought a sense of peace to her being as her magic slowed and calmed.
"Thank you for your kindness..so far i have not been dissapointed in this new life of mine. I truly look forward to getting to know you all better..for now i think i will get to know more of the campus"
She bowed once more and glanced over everyones eyes' getting a sense of their auras before turning down the hall in search of the one thing she had to see.

Kent eventually tired of the book and even glossed over a few of the more boring parts of the story. Curiosity over-taking the young boy, he pulled out his student handbook along with his map of the entire school and looked it over. Judging from the way the handbook described it, the library seemed to be just the place for someone like him. Getting up, Kent looked at the map one last time and noticed that a wall was currently separating him and the main hallway. Closing his eyes for only a few moments, a portal opened up underneath the boy as he plummeted into a whole new world. Everything grew dark for a moment until he was on the other-side of the wall and was a few feet above the ground. Landing with a soft thud, Kent grinned, where would he be without that skill? Oh well, he was sure no one saw the wondrous display as he continued walking down the hall.
