Jigajig so like Shine has the ability to use something kinda like 'spiritual comms' to link up a squad. but nowadays she only uses it to connect guards she trusts. do you want Levina in on it? it would be a retcon whereby levina would have gone thru a major daylong ritual which was arduous, mind bending and frightening. But benefits are great.

Aviator if you want cyrus could have it too. which could be a running subplot with Shine tryna peer pressure doppelganger boi into it and the body double constantly putting it off? lmk

yes she does. think of her like turning on a chat room and having like insta mod powers. so once she turns it on, she basically @'s all those she made ritual with. then she hooks people up like an old switchboard. For all intents and purposes like lets just say when she's clocked in, its always on in Belle Reve and its like group telepathy to make it easier IC'ly.

Like if its not on but you are connected you can try to reach her but she usually wont answer immediately unless she feels you are desperate. without doing a proper ritual before 'turning it on' could lead to bad, dirty things sneaking into the chat and tryna possess or curse the people on the connection other than Shine.

But once you are disconnected you have to go through the connection ritual again. I'm thinkin Cyrus was cut off as a security matter just incase something unseen from another dimension 'connected' to him and hitched a ride back to home reality? So like that's the reason Shine cant even get a sense that this is an imposter. Now if she tries to enter the imposter's dreams then yeah insta ID but she has no reason to and won't unless asked by superior. But if he is demonic or has demonic powers she will be told by her ally spirits right away so prolly retcon something to hide that if he is?

That's why i was thinkin to keep up the drama just have Shine ignorant but keeps on peer pressuring him to re-connect.

naw fr tho some transparency: I'm halfway through my post and there's a bunch of superguards gathered. And like theres this one part where one of the inmates tries to rush Levina and so a super guard that controls negative energy sucks them dry of strength while another that manipulates bio-electricity puppets them to faceplant and painfully snaps their limbs in place over their head.

And sooooooo Rachael seems like a good bean so like i don't wanna have them to do that to her lol
