Well on that note, is there a consensus on what is going to be done about the witch? We're going to interrogate her, that much is pretty obvious. I'm just not sure we've agreed on the method.

...So I just got some interesting news. I recently found out that I am being ordered to get underway for a month, and my time away will start at the end of this month. So throughout June I will be on a boat on the ocean, and I have no idea if I will be able to get access to satellite internet or not. I just found this out today so I'm going to do some more research into this, but I wanted to inform everyone what was going on so you didn't think I up and vanished on you guys.

Also I just made a topic in the GDoc about housing the prisoners. Simple enough solution for now I think.

thanks for the heads up. If I can be of any facility at all the allows you to remain involved, let me know -- If you have no internet, what about fax, texting, mail, anything like that? If there is any way to keep you looped and involved, I'm willing to consider the additional complexity. When you get back, I'll buy you dinner in SF. xD

Keep me posted. a month isn't a really long time either -- Pretty much everyone has given me "long term plans" (though I might ask the Aymarans for more unless they want to focus on making their sewer holdfast "just right"... I'm hoping I have the free time today for 1-3 posts that will give people things to respond to. I'll check the google doc before updating the prison situation -- but if nobody has plans or ideas in place, I'm rolling for events.

Going to check this as soon as I unbury myself from finals grading... But if cordyceps fungal mind control has anything to say about it, I'm sure it's a freaky list. If this interests shul, with the appropriate backing and facility he may be able to pursue fungal medicine/infusions and magic. But I'll commend when I see the media. As it is if I don't have certain RL crap done by Friday I'm the one who'll need to worry about skeletons making poor neighbors..,.KamiKahzy said:

The good news is I've had plenty of time to crystallize various aspects moving forward.
Truly sorry about all the teasing, but a game like this is bound to have bumps and barrels.
I am especially glad for the couple of posts that have been made in the interim, they are very meaningful and help keep the catalyst lit.

It's just something I found interesting and slightly relevant. Salt is very important for many old-world practices so it could become a primary export for our little colony. As the video says though it's definitely NOT worth more than gold, but it is far more prevalent so I figured it's something we should keep in mind.

Perhaps not well sync'ed to the departure of @KamiKahzy, I have returned.
For those of you who value excuses: My SSD for my computer died and wiped out all of my grad work and all of my notes for the game. The grad work is recoverable. The game notes are a minor setback but really rattled me.
The end of the school year is a hard time for teachers, especially new ones like me. I am not dropping the game and have been thinking about it constantly. If anybody ran out of patience waiting we will negotiate their PC > NPC transition at the start of "Season 2" -- but I hope everyone remains hanging in there.
My next step (Tonight or tomorrow latest!) is to post the caravan to the ruin collective action. I then hope to "wrap up" all standing orders in a semi-curt less detailed form that will allow us to begin "season 2" after a jump forward in time to allow people to enjoy some passive progress, which will range anywhere from 4 weeks to 2 months into the summer season (game time.)
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
I'm committed to making sure it all gets done anyway, but what I'd really appreciate and make things go much faster is for everyone (or one or two devoted volunteers) to PM me ALL THE STANDING ORDERS/EVENTS they are waiting for to be processed. I had an exhaustive list of these, but they were lost in my Solid-State-Drive Wipe. If you just PMed me the orders or things you're waiting to see shake out it would make the amount of re-acclimation of mine congruently smoother to the extent anyone helped. I'll do it anyway, but if each player just told me what was in their que -- stuff would roll much faster as I can channel effort into fun and creativity rather than logistics/data -- which quite frankly, after getting almost 100 kids through finals is not the aspect of the game I am most looking forward to.
I'll also be checking the google-doc to see if there are any evolutions there.
The Map will be updated for season 2, with features such as the learning square and the start of the road between attolian southern effort and Harun-Taras in the north. Whether it's a chain of path-markers, a gravel road, or a beaten swathe in the grass will be subject to rolls... but I'll also add other things to the map of significance in the story.
If, after the map is updated, you feel there are areas or points of interest that were not included, let me know and I will add them before finalizing the season 2 starting map.

Otherwise, that's on a waaaay back burner.
