Beauty of the Heart

Rhys nodded a bit. "I'd love to." He said. Teaching people was fun.

Devan couldn't help but smile a bit. "Well, Brutus isn't the easiest dog to clean, so I try to keep him out of the mud."

"Do you know any other languages?" Rhys asked him.

Devan smiled a bit. "He just likes to escape and then run around the house."

Zen: *I know many of languages. France and Germany, Italy and Spain, but not Mexico. Mexico is hard to learn after you learn Spain.* and vice versa.

Venir: "So do i, I totally get it. unfortunately I'm not a dog so i try not to."

Rhys's eyes went wide. "Wow! That's a lot!"

Devan couldn't help but smile and then laugh a little bit.

Zen: "yeah, I hope to explore the world someday. I'll need all the language I can to do that. I might be able to be an ambassador someday."

Venir: I laugh too, I like having friends, they're so fun.

Rhys smiled a little bit. "That sounds awesome." He said. "I want to be a psychologist."

Devan found that he really liked the other's laugh. It was nice.

((Sorry))

Rhys smiled a bit. "Yeah, well, it's also because there aren't many deaf psychologists out there. I want to be someone the deaf community can come to without an interpreter involved."

Devan nodded a bit at the question. "Yeah, I'm ready."

Rhys felt his cheeks get warm. "No, I'm not." He signed after a moment. "I'm just filling a hole that shouldn't even be there in the first place." He didn't think it was that special.

Devan started to walk again after a moment.

Zen: "Even so, it's a great idea." Maybe I should do something like that. Maybe a doctor or a chiropractor, or maybe i should learn all I can and then just be the all around kind of guy. Languages and medical stuff, a perfect start.

Venir: he follows, thumbs in his pockets, looking around even though he'd lived here his whole life. new things cropped up in a place like this all the time. people change their stores almost all the time.

Rhys smiled a little bit. "Thank you." He thought it was good too.

Devan also looked around, but it was more to get to know the place than anything else. Or figure out where things were.

Zen: (Where are they again?)

Venir: "That shop used to be run by an old Russian couple, it used to sell the craziest things. Old stuffed animals, crystals shaped like bugs the size of Xbox controllers, and jackets made from cow wool. My dad has one, says it's warm.

((Zen's dad's store))

Devan smiled a little bit as Venir explained the shop. "Who runs it now?" He asked quietly. He liked hearing stories about towns.

(Okay!) Zen: "Zen? Could you man the shop? My trader just came into town."

"Will do," zen wavs as his dad exits the shop. he turns to Rhys, "I have to work but we can still talk."

Venir: "A quirky german who sells the same type of stuff and one who barely speaks a lick of english. Zen likes to visit him sometimes, says he's got some good stories."

Rhys nodded a bit. "Okay." He didn't see a problem with it. "Do you always work at the store?" He asked.

Devan seemed confused for a moment. "Who's Zen?" He asked after a moment.

Zen: "yeah, my brother too, motly just when dad needs to go get stuff."

Venir: "oh, he's my brother, we're twins. he speaks a lot of different languages fluently. We live with our dad above our tea shop." He left out the wicca stuff on purpose.

"You have a brother?" Rhys asked. He didn't think Zen had mentioned that before.

"Oh." Devan looked down after a moment. "What's it like to have a brother?" He asked.

Zen: He mentally kicked himself, he should have mentioned that earlier, though it hadn't ever come up before. "Yeah, we're the same age, he's a bit of a trouble maker." Zen hadn't learned the sign for twin, so he went with the next best thing. "He's a good brother, but i don't think he likes me. I'm kind of one of those honor students and he doesn't like school. He's got more friends than I do and he likes being here more too. He put down his roots here, he's probably going to end up working locally. I want to get out into the world and make it better. I think that sort of drove a wedge between us. It bothers me but I don't know how to fix it."

Venir: "Well, I like having a brother, but I don't think he likes me. He's the grade A student, has a bunch of colleges pining for him to enroll. We're both smart, but he wants to do something with his life and I already know what I'm going to do so, I glide by on C's and he over achieves in honors classes and extra after school college classes." Venir shrugs, "It doesn't bother me. I don't want to leave my town, I think Zen does. I wouldn't be surprised if he became a world renown doctor or something like that." He sighs, "he's my twin, we're supposed to be close like those stories. Our difference is like a wedge between us. It bothers me but I don't know how to fix it."

"I'm sure he likes you." Rhys said. "Besides, siblings are supposed to be really different and that means nothing. Just because you're different doesn't mean anything." He added. "Maybe you should talk to him about how you feel? If anything, at least he'll know."

Devan felt sort of bad for him. Not that he knew how to fix it. "Why do they have to drive a wedge between you?" He asked. "Can't you talk to him? Maybe there are still things you guys have in common and I'm sure he loves you." Family was supposed to love each other, right?

Zen: "You think so? We don't really cross paths much anymore. I usually leave long before he even wakes up and sometimes he doesn't come home. I'd like to talk to him though. We never get to spend any time together anymore."

Venir: "We don't really cross paths anymore. He's gone before I wake up and asleep by the time I get home, if I get home. it's not a wedge, it's more like a divide. I know what he's up to and he knows what I'm up to but we never really get to spend any time together." he sighs and puts his hands in his pockets. "I'll figure it out, I just have to wake up earlier."

Rhys nodded a bit. "Yeah, just talk to him." He told the other. "Trust me, I'm sure he hates the situation just as much as you do." He added. "Try and find a time and make it happen."

Devan bit his lip a little bit. "Have you ever tried to find him during the day?" He asked. "I think he'd be willing to make some time to talk to you." He added. Devan knew nothing about siblings, but he thought he was on the right track.
