Fantasy Beast Souls OOC

BugDozer73 BugDozer73 if you're ok with the post I made, it'll be Shikoba, Xaman'Ek, and Anu the lemur archer going herb-hunting. Plus anyone else who wants to come if they're fast enough.

I hate you all so much right now. The Idea is these are not normal throwing knives. These are (for all intense and purposes) Hawk feather throwing knives, exclusive to the Thuehir hawk tribe. Each one resembles a silver feather, weighs virtually nothing, and can be packed incredibly close to the body. Each one is specially designed to be as areodynamic as possible, maintaining as much velocity for impact. You also have to understand that the whole thing about them going 200 ft with perfect accuracy is like the peak performance. He's not always going to be perfect, and most of his targets are going to have body armor and be moving. ANY MORE QUESTIONS?!

If it weighs nothing, how does it have enough weight to sustain the momentum needed for a 200 ft throw?

I dunno dude, how does the world have giant spiders with acid for blood? I’m pretty sure we’re not all bound to regular laws of physics either. It’s a make believe world, so work with me here ok? Just say it’s an ancient technique of the hawk crafters. The way they shape the blade, it is able to use velocity to penetrate.

Lol, Bug I'm just messing with man. Trust me I'm not offended by your feather knives, they're actually pretty cool. Though I am wondering what happens when you finally run out. I mean it's not like they sell these on the streets right ?

Actually, one of Newton's laws does state that an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an external force. Your knives don't necessarily go against the laws of physics. With practice, I'm sure that someone could actually use knives like them.

Heheh, I'm just playing. I like to know science things though. Like maybe the spiders just have an abnormally low blood ph? or maybe the blade amplifies airflow so that it's being propelled by aerodynamics, rather than brute force? Just speculation

Well the external force in this case would be gravity (I think). If I threw a foam ball, it wouldn't travel very far, even if I tried to launch it with an air gun, simply because it's so light. It stays in motion until it can't

Plus air resistance and friction are constant acting forces.

Indeed. The external force would be gravity, or the body of a target. A skilled user though would be able to throw them at such speed that gravity will not be too much of a factor for some distance. It's like you throwing a foam ball compared to a MLB player throwing one. It's all skill

Or using the air resistance to further propel the blade, like when you throw playing cards. All about the angle.

Yeah, It'd probably be something like that

Plus if you have height advantage you can use gravity to your benefit.

BugDozer73 BugDozer73 we've figured out the logistics of your throwing knives. Now you can make and use them in real life xD How cool would that be? (And dangerous)

If you made use of air as the primary propelling agent, it would take little effort to use, and less effort if loaded into a weapon

Good lord you guys are so into this. Ok so the shape of them causes them to be thrown with force, but they don't need a lot of thrust and initial force. It's a certain technique. The way they are made and thrown creates forces to equal gravity, wind resistance and friction enough so that they can do what I want them to. They cant go forever though. Also, I try to retrieve as many of them as I can after every fight brendan, but after each fight I have to get more. I'm going to say for this RP right now i'm also carrying an extra 2 boxes of knifes in my traveling gear. When I run out i have to restock. that means going home to the only place that makes them
