Imagine giant fire ants chasing ships over the water as they lock together to reach them? Omg that would be... Silver please make this happen/if it happened we'd all be dead though/maybe don't make this happen XD

omfg thats actually horrifying. They're using the dead bodies of their friends as a life raft. Literally the idea of giant bugs differing from each region is so scary and perfect. In the desert its giant scorpions with huge stingers, capable of killing an Elephant.

Actually no, the truth is much worse. The fire ants are from rainforests and experience flooding regularly. As such, they've evolved to adapt to this, and when it rains, the worker ants lock their bodies together in such a way that their living raft is virtually airtight, allowing safe transport of the queen and her eggs while they wait for the water to recede. They stay like that for as long as they have to. The raft is not dead. It is alive and capable of shifting form based on the weight they have to carry, becoming tighter or more spread out.

Maybe each bug has an ability. like of course, giant spider webs that they trap and eat us birds in. The ants of course can do that swimming thing, maybe they can also attract lightning bolts with their giant pincers like rods? Also What about giant wasps and praying mantises?

Fire ants could be... electricity? I guess bc water conducts electricity and they can float on water

scorpions could be poison or fire
