Fandom Beast Boy and Raven (Closed)

Rachel hissed at the wound. She probably should have changed that bandage earlier. “I’ll get the first aid kit.”

While the pizza warmed up, Rachel brought the first aid kit to the couch and unwrapped the bandage. “Uhh, I don’t know. Shortly after, it happened. I kind of fell asleep for a bit then cleaned you up. You were asleep for a long time,” she said as she finished unwrapping. From the first aid kit she picked up a cleansing wipe to clean up the wound.

“This might sting a little,” Rachel warned before lightly wiping his stomach. She instantly felt the pain emanating from it and flinched a bit at it.

HHHHuuuuuunnnnnggggrrrrryyyyyy.

Rachel moved faster, quickly cleaning up all the pus and grabbing a new bandage “There. Should be good for a while now. It’ll probably stop oozing soon.”

Garfield was touched Rachel had gone through so much to take care of him. He felt bad all he could see her for at times was a demon though she was much more than that. Much more to him especially. He held his shirt in his hands as Rachel did her nurse work.

“How bad is it gonna hu-“ Garfield was cut off by the answer to his own question. He grit his teeth and grabbed his shirt harder, hoping he was being a better patient than before. After she finished and began wrapping his midsection, Garfield watched her hands pass the bandage around his waist over and over again.

Once she was done Garfield dropped his shirt and followed after her. “Are we gonna live together for real?…”He was slightly excited to do so but wondered if this was what Rachel really wanted or she was just trying to make him happy.

Rachel went back to the kitchen to grab the pizza slices from the oven. “We haven’t seen the townhouse in person yet. Pictures can be deceiving on these sites,” she said nonchalantly, placing the pans on the stove. “But yeah, I think it’s a good idea.”

When she had originally offered for them to live together, Garfield was really excited and happy about the idea. Things are a little bit different now, thanks to the trauma that was yesterday. She wasn’t sure it was something he still wanted.

“As I said before, I think we should live close to each other in case there’s an emergency.” She handed him a pizza slice. “But you know, if you want your own space to get away from it all, that’s ok too.” She took a bite of her pizza. A moment or so ago she was hungry, but waiting for his reply made it hard to swallow, losing her appetite just a bit.

Garfield walked to the stove and took both of the slices that he sat in the pan for himself. Supreme Vegan pizza. Sweet. He took a bite of the pizza and nodded along with Rachel. Honestly he knew nothing of purchasing a home but whatever she said would be alright with him.

Halfway through the pizza slice Garfield looked at Rachel with a confused look. “Get away from you?… I wanna be with you for like a long time…” He needed to think about it for a split second but everyone has there problems. At least she didn’t attack him right?

Garfield finished one of the slices in a modest time before putting the other one on the counter. “You’re not mad at me for being afraid?…” He rubbed his eyes before reaching out and poking Rachel in the stomach. “Don’t think I can’t still beat up some demon…” He teased. The second the words left his mouth he sort of regretted them since the same woman He spoke of haunted his dreams.

Rachel raised an eyebrow at him. She noticed the change and his face, but decided to play off of the joke. “Oh yeah, how could I forget you are Garfield Logan, first of his name, apex predator, slayer of demons,” she said with a grin. But really, she did need to get her point across.

“Of course I’m not angry. I’d probably be angry if you weren’t afraid. I just wanted to give you an out if you wanted it,” Rachel explained. “Because if we live together, you’re also living with her. Living with what you fear is not something I’d want to push onto you. Even demon slayers need a break from their demon girlfriends.”

Rachel finished her slice, glad that he now knew where she was coming from. “But I do want to live with you… if you’re sure you want it.”

Garfield felt that he would likely pay the costs of this talk next time he fell asleep but the opportunity to joke with Rachel was too good to pass up. “Apex predator…I like that one..” He said while leaning against the counter in front of her. The green hero paused to think for a moment. Would he forever be scared of Red Raven?

Garfield nodded his head “I dunno, I think I could get over it!..” He sounded optimistic but weak toned. It was annoying not being able to use energy the way he normally did. Nothing the demon did would keep him from Rachel, no matter the consequences. That was just the type of person he was, afraid of no consequences minus dish duty.

Garfield took her hand and pulled on her arm towards the door. “Then hurry up and take us to the place!..” He was prepared for the worst later when he inevitably fell asleep but the best would come now in the form of spending time with Rachel. The good with the bad. The bad that would eventually become a distant memory with time. Leaving only him and her. Garfield and Rachel. BB and RaeRae.

“All right, weirdo,” Rachel said, allowing herself to be pulled to the door. “But we’re walking. It’ll do you good.”

With the front door locking behind them, BB and RaeRae set out on the streets, holding hands the whole way. Rachel kept a close watch on Gar, making sure he wasn’t over exerting himself.

After all that had happened, minimal though had been put into the battle they had before. Jump City, however, had a lot to say on the matter. Newspapers, reporters on small televisions in an electronic shop, and just word of mouth discussed the attack on the museum and the mysterious heroes who stopped it.

“I heard Robin was there and he used this dental floss to detain Chertah.”

“It was Cheetah?! What was Cheetah doing here?!”

“Are you sure it wasn’t Wonder Woman who stopped her?”

“My Aunt Sharon saw an Elephant!”

“Well your Aunt Sharon is nuts.”

“Ridiculous gossip,” Rachel commented as they walked passed it. “They obviously didn’t see anything.

Garfield felt the urge to quickly transform into something, wanting to feel free to stretch his metaphorical and literal wings. Due to doctor’s orders he remained grounded and put his hand in Rachel’s. When they passed the surrounding ‘witnesses’ he was surprised Robin’s name but figured where one Titan was mentioned, others would follow suit.

At the sound of Cheetah’s name Garfield could feel the wound burn a little. Of course it was more a placebo effect that actual symptom but he raised his free hand to touch the spot on his abs. “Don’t be mean Rae.. That might mean they like us again..” It may have been his optimism speaking but it was something that could be true.

He held her hand tight when his pain started fading and shook his head at her. “I’m all good…promise..” Garfield waited for a second before continuing walking next to her. They eventually arrived to the place and there was a lady in a pants suit with a jacket on, clipboard in hand.

“Hello! Are you two here for open house? I was expecting people the day after Christmas. That Christmas bonus really helped out did it?” The woman smiled as she opened The door. “My name is Angela Johnson, here’s my card and welcome. I think you two will love this place.” Garfield looked at Rachel a bit confused about what was happening but followed his partner’s lead.

Rachel took the card, not trusting this Angela Johnson for a second. Real estate agents always try to make a house look better than it is so the client will want to pay more money for it.

“It’s an open house, right? So we’re able to go in and see it by ourselves,” Rachel said in her usual monotone tone.

Johnson’s face didn’t falter at the lack of excitement, in fact her face grew wider. “Of course! If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them.” She stepped aside and let them enter the front door. Rachel didn’t answer her, simply walking passed and going inside.

As shown in the pictures, the stairs to the upstairs was right by the front door on the left. To the right was the living room with a couch, two chairs, and a flat screen tv. The stainless steel kitchen and downstairs bathroom were in the back passed the living room.

“Looks like the pictures didn’t lie about the first floor,” Rachel said. She went over to the couch and sat on it, getting a feel for the land. The shades of the window were opened, brightening the room and showing the view of Titan Tower right behind the TV.

Garfield figured Rachel wouldn’t want to interact with the lady directly but he tried to be all smiles so he wouldn’t feel bad. She was trying her best to give them a house right? In his mind it wasn’t clear that all she cared about was selling the place but maybe that was better.

Garfield looked around and his jaw dropped at the style. It was exactly what the pictures showed but it looked much better in person. He walked over and sat next to Rachel, leaning back and closing his eyes as if he was about to take a nap. “This is pretty sweet…” He was loving the place so far, that much was obvious.

Angela spoke up from the front door and Garfield’s ears perked up. “I forgot to mention if you have any specific questions on the house I can give you my coworker’s number.” She walked over to the couch and placed the card in Garfield’s lap before walking back.

Unfortunately the mean, green, demon slaying machine had to open his eyes as he picked the card up and read it out loud. “Kory Anders?…” He handed the card to Rachel and shook his head. “That’s a weird name…” There was a familiar element that set off internal alarms in his mind but he was in no mood for deep thinking.

Angela interjected when she heard the confusion, staying at the door this time. “She’s been working with us for a little over a year but she’s really good at her job. They offered her bigger sales but she says she wants to stay close to home I suppose.” A part of the woman sounded jealous, wishing she had the opportunity to take the job instead.

The recognition of the name didn’t hit Rachel until she read it on the card. “Kory Anders.” She sat up straight on the couch, holding the card with both hands as if denying it from disappearing from existence.

“It’s too much of a coincidence. It has to be.” Kory Anders. Koriand’r. Rachel should have known she’d give herself an alias as well.

She stood up from the couch and paced the room. “No wonder I couldn’t find her at the library. Why didn’t I think to check that? She’s been here this whole time!” Then Rachel noticed Garfield did not catch up yet.

“Gar. It’s-“ She stopped and eyed the real estate agent watching them. “-time to look check upstairs. Let’s go.”

Rachel pulled him to his feet and practically dragged him upstairs. She didn’t take the time to look at the nice bathroom, making a hard left into one of the bedrooms and closing the door behind them.

Holding up the card in front of her, Rachel caught him up, “Koriand’r is a tamaranian name. Translated into English, it means Starfire.”

Garfield wasn’t sure why Rachel was overreacting to one of the the real estate ladies when she clearly didn’t like people. It was times like this he realized how much he didn’t know about women. He started looking around to make sure there wasn’t anyone else that may have been mind controlling Rachel, maybe some new villain because this was odd of her to do.

“Wait who? Do you got some friends or something?..” Garfield had peaked at both curiosity and confusion before being told they needed to check out the upstairs. “But I like the cou-!..” The next thing he knew they were up the stairs and behind a closed door.

Garfield leaned in and squinted at the card trying to piece things together. “Koriand’r…” He rubbed his eyes and stood up straight. He held his hands as if her were a balance, weighing out the two names. “Koriand’r…Kory Anders…Koriand’r…Kory Anders…” He went back and forth before his eyes widened.

He took the card from Rachel and held it up to his face. “That’s means this is Star!…” It seemed the apple had finally fallen far enough from the tree that was Garfield’s intellect. (I just made that saying up 😂). Garfield eyes looked towards Rachel and he smiled. “Wait, does that mean we can finally see her too?…”

Rachel grinned back at him. “Well, we know how to reach her, anyway.”

She looked around the bedroom they had ended up in, finger tapping her lips in thought. “Hmm, I really like this townhouse, but I think I have some specific questions about it,” she said aloud.

Rachel opened the door to the bedroom again and stepped out. Angela Johnson was waiting for them at the end of the stairs.

“You went up so quickly! Do you have any questions I can help you with?” She asked.

“We are interested, but we would like to speak to the expert on the house before we make our decision. Right, Gar?”

Garfield put the card in his pocket and looked around. “What kinda question?…This place rocks…” He said before being yoinked out of the room and back downstairs. He really needed to learn how to keep up.

He moved down the stairs sluggishly and came to a halt next to Rachel, blinking slowly. When she said his name he nodded his head, agreeing to whatever she said. “Yeah yeah we gots to do that…” Garfield nodded. Angela was bitter once more than it would be Kory could close another deal instead of her.

She gave a fake smile and nodded. “Yes I understand. I’ll just be outside until you leave or she gets here!” She turned heel and Garfield leaned his head on Rachel’s shoulder. “This is gonna be awesome!…I can’t wait to see Starfire again….” He said with a yawn.

He realized he was the one with her number in his pocket and pulled the card out. “Should we call her now or do we gotta wait?” Garfield asked rubbing his eyes.

“Here, let’s sit you back on the couch and we’ll give her a call,” Rachel said. She took the card back and led Garfield back to the couch.

“I forgot you were still recovering. Just relax a bit while I call Kory Anders.” Once sitting back on the couch, Rachel took out her phone. Her fingers stopped over the buttons, hesitating and wondering if Starfire would even want to see them. Rachel was a little less than thrilled about seeing Gar again. But Rachel and Starfire were two very different people, Star would be happy to see them, Rachel just knew it.

Ring ring!

The dial tone rang two times before the call was answered. Rachel put it on speaker phone so Gar could listen too.

“Home Sweet Realty, your Home is just a Sweet offer away. This is Kory, how may I help you?” The voice said on the other end.

It was hard to tell if the voice was Starfire’s or not. The tone of the voice sounded similar, but Kory spoke clearly and without strange usage of words.

“Uhh, Hi. I, uh, we are in the Townhouse on Bay Street and were told to call you if we had specific questions?” Rachel said.

“Oh of course! If you are still there I can be over there in five minutes to answer any questions you have,” the voice said enthusiastically.

“Yeah. That would be great,” Rachel replied, a shiver of excitement going through her. This was actually happening.

“Great! Feel free to continue to look around and have more questions! I’ll be happy to answer them all. See you in a bit!” The line went dead and Rachel turned to Gar.

“It’s hard to tell. Do you think that was her? You have better ears than me.” Rachel asked.

Garfield wanted to debate Rachel on making him sit down but before he could even say anything. He place a hand on his wounded area while she called Starfire, or at least who they believed was Starfire.

He leaned in to listen to the voice while trying to simultaneously keep his eyes open. Garfield recognized the voice immediately and held onto Rachel with joy. She definitely sounded more human than she use to which was odd.

When Rachel hung the phone up Garfield nodded his head. “That’s totally Star!…” He said while smiling. “I glad she’s okay and we get to see her! I can’t wait!” But of course, wait he did. He became a bit impatient and his excitement was fighting with his lack of energy, fortunately keeping him awake.

After several minutes of Garfield checking the front door fit every time he heard a sound, the front door open and a redhead woman walked through the door. “Goodbye Angela, I’ll be done in a jiffy.” She walked through after closing the door, shoes sounding off on the hardwood floors.

“So what questions were you both having?” Garfield turned and stood with Rachel, staring at Starfire across the couch. The Tamaranian took in a split second of information before flying over the back of the couch and hugging them around the neck. “Friends! I’ve missed you both so much.”

Garfield wasn’t sure but it seemed Starfire was happy to see them. She backed away from them to see their faces, clearing her throat. “I-I mean you guys.” She didn’t pay for those speech classes to digress now. She also hadn’t flown in a few weeks since she last met up with Dick but she was back to her floating self.

Starfire hugs are always a force to be reckoned with. Rachel felt all the warmth and love that came with her alien friend while also being choked to death. Rachel gasped for air as Starfire released them and took a step back.

Star, or perhaps she should say Kory, did a great job dressing like a human, foregoing the tamaranian attire for a business suit, pencil skirt, and high heels that were now floating in the air with her feet. Her long flaming red hair was currently pulled up in a tight business bun, a few strands loose in the front to border her face. Her eyebrows, which used the be quite short, now seemed to be penciled in to look more average looking. Though her skin was still orange, makeup on her face diminished the hue, it could be mistaken for a bad spray tan. Regardless, she was still a bombshell, and still one if Rachel’s closest friend.

“You look different,” Rachel said with a grin. “You almost look human.”

“Oh thank you! I’ve been practicing and taking speech classes, although sometimes your language is still strange to me,” Starfire replied, posing and showing off her look. “You also look different. More human as well, even though I know you two were always human. Oh I just can’t believe that you are here!”

“How long have you been here, Starfire? We thought you went back to Tamaran,” Rachel asked. Starfire frowned, instantly inflated by the question.

“I did. For a while. But after living here for so long, I didn’t really belong there anymore…” Starfire said slowly. Her mood changed quickly and suddenly once again. “Oh but we have so much to discuss! We must go to the cafe and do the catching up over a warm beverage. I mean, we should grab a coffee! Say you’ll come with me!”

Rachel looked over at the still recovering Gar. “Uhm I don’t know if we should.”

Garfield tried his best not to overdramatize the hug with a yell, mainly because that was a lot of energy that he couldn’t waste on a joke. Well, not one that was that mediocre. Maybe something bigger. He shook the thoughts from his mind as he looked over his friend. Starfire still send like the same person they meet all those years ago, at least on the inside.

Garfield found it awesome that Starfire could breathe in space but kept that to himself as he drifted in and out of focus with the conversation continuing beyond him. Once the attention was back on him he snapped out of it and nodded his head. “We gotta go Rae…Or at least you can..”

Starfire looked between the two and flew to Garfield’s face, cupping it in her hands. “Beast Boy, what’s the matter? You look…tired.” A frown grew on her face as Garfield was standing there with a squished face. “Actually I’m all good but call me Gar in public…” He mentioned, remembering that she didn’t know about that yet.

Starfire let his face go and he started massaging it with his hands. “But you should go Rae, I don’t wanna mess nothing up…” He took her hand and gave it a squeeze. She would’ve done the same for him If Cyborg was visiting.

Rachel frowned, not thrilled about the idea of leaving him, especially because she was the reason he was in such a state. But she couldn’t say no to Starfire either, but after all this time.

“Fine. But we’re taking you home first and you’re getting a nice long rest,” she told him. Looking back over at Starfire, Rachel noticed that she was eyeing them with interest. She was never going to hear to the end of it, she could already tell.

“Glorious!” Starfire finally responded, kicking herself out of her stare to giggle happily and clap her hands. “We will have the girl’s talk! Oh, this will be so much fun! Where do you live, Raven? We shall go immediately!”

“I think we’ll take the express way this time. Do you think your coworker will notice?” Rachel asked.

“She is already gone! I’ll just lock up the house!” Starfire bolted to the front door and locked it from the inside. “But Raven, when you say express way, do you mean-?”

At that, Rachel created a portal right next to her. Starfire gaped at it. “You still use your magic?”

“We have a lot to discuss,” Rachel replied, before leading the way into her portal and landing right in the center of her apartment living room.

“Hey Gar, how about you rest in my bed for now? Maybe you’ll get better sleep in an actual bed.” Rachel suggested as soon as they arrived.

Garfield was glad she decided to still go and spend time with Starfire. He wasn’t typically the wet blanket when it came to making plans but he figured every dog had it’s day. “Yes nurse Rachel.” He teased before watching the dark eclipse stretch into existence at Starfire’s surprise.

He stepped through last and felt the dimensional door close behind him, getting chills. Garfield nodded his head, leaning his chin on top of Rachel’s head. “Okay but bring me something back…Like a cookie or something sweet…” He said before giving her a hug from behind.

This made Starfire’s eyes practically shoot their lasers when she saw the affection between the two. After Garfield slunk into the room and got in Rachel’s bed, the former princess eyed her friend with a grin. “Are you and Beast- Gar.” She made a Tamaranean hand gesture that was foreign to earth but quite obvious in dating implications.

“Don’t touch my things!” Rachel called after Gar as he went into her room. When she turned back to Starfire, she immediately regretted saying yes to going out. Rachel’s face flushed with embarrassment.

“It’s not a big deal. No need to freak out. Titles are weird anyway,” Rachel mumbled. As expected, Starfire wouldn’t let it go.

“You must tell me everything! It’s absolutely wonderful that you two finally-“

“Are we going for coffee or not? Let’s go before I change my mind about this whole ‘girl’s talk’ thing,” Rachel said, grabbing Starfire’s arm and pulling the floating girl with her out the door.

About 3 hours later, Rachel opened up the door to her apartment again, a bag of fresh-baked cookies wrapped in a clear plastic bag with a bow on top. Kory Anders walked in behind her, doing her best to be quiet, which proved difficult with the heels. Giving up, she hovered in the air once again.

“Do you think he is sleeping?” Kory whispered.

“He has to be. It’s too quiet in here,” Rachel commented.

“I do not wish to wake him up, so I’ll leave. Would you tell him I said goodbye? This is a nicer one because it is only a short goodbye,” Kory said with a bittersweet smile. Rachel shared in the exchange of sad smiles.

“Thanks, Kory. I’ll let you know what we decide about the house,” Rachel said as Kory made her way back to the door. “I’ll have all the paperwork ready! Goodbye, Rachel!”

She gave her friend one final hug before landing her feet back in the ground and leaving the apartment. Rachel’s smile turned into a frown, thinking about what Kory had told her. Deciding to forget about it for now, Rachel went to check on her patient.

Garfield wasn’t expecting Rachel’s bed to be so cozy but there wasn’t a complaint to the surprise. Naturally he raised a thumbs up in the bed as if Rachel could see him before slowly drifting of into his dreams for the second time today.

Things were going so well that day he wasn’t expecting his nightmares to return so soon. It was an entirely different situation this time around. He sat in a chair, arms tied around his back and ankles tied to the legs of said chair. Garfield would’ve looked around but there was a blindfold on his face preventing his sight. If it weren’t for his other heightened senses he would’ve thought he was alone.

Well well well, the demon slayer arrives…

Garfield turned towards the sound of the voice and his body tensed up. “I-I thought we were cool? C’mon Red, we can be friends.” He pleaded. The best thing about being in a dream was his energy felt replenished. The bad news was he knew what would come next.

Does it look like I want to be friends with you? You’re simply a meal on a platter.

He chuckled nervously and turned to the new location she walked to. “Y’know its kinda hard to see in this so…you could take it off and I can see if you wanna be friends.” He offered. There was a sinister laugh in the area only this time it sounded like it came from above.

When Garfield looked up there was suddenly a fingernail directly on his throat. He didn’t dare move as the demon had tricked him so easily.

Go ahead. Slay me.

Garfield didn’t like the way she spoke this time around, sounding like a garbled mix of voices. A cold breeze blew throughout the landscape and he shivered. Had he always been shirtless? The demon went to press her tendrils against his never ending wound before stopping.

Dammit. She’s back already. Guess you’re luckier than you know… See you next time Ninja Turtle.

As her laughter faded away Garfield found it weird that she called him that. She must’ve been messing with his mind was what he figured but really it only proved Rachel was inside the demon all along, regardless of what happened.

A sleeping Garfield laid in bed, surprisingly shirtless, and of course the blanket half covering his lower body and half off of the bed. He was sprawled out on Rachel’s bed and as she inched closer to him his eyes suddenly opened and he jumped a little. He wasn’t as defensive as before but was well aware of Rachel’s presence. “Geez you scared me Rach…” He rubbed his eyes while yawning.

Rachel crept into her bedroom to find Gar half naked and arms spread out wide across the bed, the blanket messily tossed about. She didn't like it, not the shirtless part for reasons that don't need to be explained, but because it didn't look natural to how he usually slept, not that she really knew he slept without her there. Moving closer, she noticed there was something on his neck, but before she could really see what exactly it was, he woke up.

"That's happening a lot lately," Rachel commented as she moved to sit on the side of the bed. Her hand lifted up the bag of cookies so he could see it when he finished rubbing his eyes. "Can someone holding cookies be scary?" she asked with a grin. Then she thought exactly how someone could be scary whilst holding cookies, like that witch from Hansel and Gretel, or the psychos who kidnap kids in white vans.

"Actually, don't answer that. Just take them. They're not poisoned, I swear." As she handed him the cookies, her eyes wandered back to his neck. She saw it again, right on his throat. It was a very small cut, not deep enough to cause bleeding, but enough to leave a mark. She knew it wasn't there when she left him. "Uhmm, you didn't shave while I was gone, did you?" she asked.

Garfield was glad Rachel hadn’t taken too much offense to his reaction to waking up to her, figuring he was doing better about the whole demon thing. He opened his eyes and gave her a bright smile. “The bag’s still warm!…Thanks Rach..” He personally couldn’t see a reason why a person with cookies would be scary but she said not to respond so he opted to listen.

Garfield opened the bag and inhaled the sheet and the cookies smelled like heaven. She had gotten him enough to satisfy his stomach but he only wanted a couple right now. He took out a chocolate chip and shoved it in his mouth only to have Rachel ask him a question about shaving.

A look of confusion washed over him since he actually never shaved. He never had a reason to unfortunately. There was a bit of hair growing on his chin but other than that he was bare. “I dunno how to shave…Do I need to?” What other reason would she say something like that.

He swallowed his first cookie and grew a bit paler when Rachel pointed out the cut on his throat. Garfield dropped the bag on the bed and swiftly examined his throat by hand, grazing over the cut. “No way…. She coulda killed me in real life?…” It was a concept he was unaware of, mixing dreams and reality. Then again Rachel constantly worried about dreams coming true so what was the difference.

“This is not just fear,” Rachel whispered. “I wasn’t even here.”

Rachel stood up from the bed and moved over to her bookshelf, books flying over to meat her and opening up to different pages.

“You may be afraid of her, but fear alone doesn’t leave physical scars,” she explained as she leafed through the books. Finding what she was looking for, she grabbed one book and let the others fall to the ground.

“I had originally thought that your nightmares were just nightmares, prompted by me just being nearby. That’s obviously not the case. Can you tell me what you saw this time?” She asked, looking up from her book.
