Fandom Beast Boy and Raven (Closed)

Garfield was a bit worried when Rachel was silent for as long as she was, probably thinking about something to do about his loss of a costume. He did take this opportunity to get a bit ahead of her and began washing and rinsing the pot and pan Rachel used. Garfield leaned against the sink with his back to the soapy water while she spoke to him.

He did like the idea of sticking together since there was a good chance Baldy would have a bunch of villains to fight. Maybe it would be a good idea to practice becoming an actual dragon so Rachel would be surprised when he did. Garfield nodded his head “Yeah that would be super sucky.” He could only imagine if a powerful rich villain had his information and what he could make happen with his life.

Once they finished Garfield rolled his eyes and splashed Rachel with water using only his fingertips. He snickered “Thank you Miss Rae. If it wasn’t for you, that woulda took foreeeever.” His tone was slightly sarcastic but mainly playful towards the end. It seemed being around Rachel so much was causing him to use her minor sarcasm as well. “Does that mean we can chill out and lay down now? I’m super tired…” Garfield asked before yawning.

Rachel crossed her arms, knowing he was messing with her. When he started yawning, though, she remembered just how long of a day it was. To think, the morning started with them painting themselves all in black and grey in Metropolis.

“Fine. I think we’ve done enough for today,” she agreed. “How about you get ready for bed and I’ll set up the couch for you?”

Rachel walked over and made sure the front door was locked before going to close the window curtains. Finally, she moved to the couch and attempted to make it as comfortable as possible, covering it in spare pillows and blankets. She sort of felt bad Gar had to go back to sleeping on the couch after being in a comfortable hotel bed. Hopefully soon he won’t have to.

Garfield stretched his arms out and exhaled. “Awesome, I’ll be right back!” He said before grabbing his toothbrush and such from his bag and heading to the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, poking at his canines and spitting out the toothpaste. After the mouthwash and washing his face he came back into the living room quietly.

Garfield watched as she laid the blanket down before creeping behind her and wrapped her up in his arms. “Boo!” He laughed before letting her down. “You got got by the Night Stalker!” He was enjoying his little prank and fell back into the couch.

He spread out and sighed in relief. “You really know you’re to make me comfy.” Garfield said as he snuggled up with the soft blanket. A small part of him didn’t want to leave Rachel but he didn’t want to be weird about it.

Rachel felt her soul self leave her body at the shock of being jump-scared by Gar. She realized she must have been more tired than she realized, having not been able to sense his presence. Reaching up, she grabbed her soul and shoved it back in place. “Cute,” she said sarcastically.

She watched him snuggle up into the blankets and felt the increasing need to do the same. “It’s no 5 star hotel bed, but I tried,” she said, fighting back a yawn.

“Anyway. Make yourself at home.” Rachel shifted from foot to foot. “I’ll see you tomorrow, I guess. Get some sleep.” Why was she being so awkward all of a sudden? It must be the exhaustion. “Good night, Gar.” She gave a small smile and made to leave.

He smiled back and responded softly. “Goodnight…”Garfield held the blanket at his waist and stared at the ceiling. It felt like an eternity but while Rachel had her back turned and walked towards her room. It felt like an eternity in his mind but it had been literal moments since Rachel turned. What was the issue? Why was he so afraid to just ask her? If he didn’t hurry it wouldn’t matter anyways.

Suddenly Garfield was to his feet and his voice found itself right as Rachel was about to leave the living room. “Wait Rachel….” He hadn’t intended to use her full name but he tried to let his thoughts explain themselves instead of backtracking.

Garfield rubbed them back of his head “Uh..I was wondering if you wanted to..stay out here with me?…” It felt like the weight of an elephant had been lifted off of his chest yet only to move to his mind due to the anticipation of her answer. “You don’t have to if you don’t wanna! I was just….I like it when we lay down.. you know, together…” Was he always this awkward? Garfield facepalmed realizing he was making a fool of himself, both more than usual and unintentionally.

Rachel stopped at being called by her full alias name. He never called her Rachel, so he must have to ask something really serious. She turned around a bit too quickly and eagerly for her liking.

She listened with a raised eyebrow as he stuttered his way through his request. He’s cute when he’s flustered.

“What’s the matter? Night Stalker afraid of the dark?” She teased, even though she very much didn’t feel like hiding out alone in her room tonight either. An idea occurred to her, a way to get back at him for startling her. So, without an answer, she went into the bathroom and shut the door.

Taking her time, Rachel brushed her teeth and readied herself for bed. When she finished in the bathroom, she went straight for her bedroom and shut the door. About 5 minutes later, decided she let him stew long enough, she teleported herself right onto the couch.

“Scooch over,” She said, wiggling herself in.

Garfield scratched his head, realizing Rachel was teasing him just then. “You know I’m not scared of the dark.” He said with a small laugh before watching her leave. He raised a brow before letting his arms droop to his side. “Nice going Gar, you ruined it again…”

Garfield made his way over to the couch and sat there near the middle trying to think of what he had done to upset Rachel. Maybe he worded it weird? Maybe he should try to explain himself again to at least cost things up?

When Rachel opened the bathroom door he parked up a little bit before the bedroom door shut and she didn’t come back. Garfield laid down under his blanket and faced the back of the couch. He didn’t even bother to turn off the light, he just wanted to get the night over with.

All of a sudden there was something pushing against his back and he heard Rachel’s voice. Garfield turned over and his ears rose up like an attentive animal. He wrapped her back up and this time he hugged her tightly to his body. “You changed your mind?! What was it I said? Was i being creepy or something?” Garfield was still lost on the fact Rachel had in fact pranked him.

“Woah!” Rachel didn’t expect the sudden big hug the moment he realized she was there. It became clear that Gar didn’t understand her prank, hugging her like she’d been gone for ages instead of only a few minutes. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to prank him after he expressed his vulnerability to her.

“I was just grabbing my pillow, no need to get all excited,” she replied, pushing a little from the tight squeeze so she can get some air. The hug was relaxed and she was able to maneuver herself so they were both laying on the couch facing each other. She pushed some stray green hair out of his face with her hand and grinned at him, holding back a laugh.

“You? Creepy? I don’t think you can be creepy if you tried. That’s my thing, remember?”

Garfield loosened his grip on Rachel and chuckled nervously. “Whoops, my bad hehe…” He let her underneath the blanket and smiled a little. He felt a little silly about thinking those things while she was getting her blanket but tried to look past it. “You’re not creepy Rae, you got that cute goth thing. I totally like it though.” He confirmed without a single thought behind what he said besides that it was true.

Garfield never realized that Rachel had changed since they were younger until then. Her hair was longer, her facial features had gotten more full but the look in her eyes remained true to the person he met all those years ago with a hint of something else. Something new and happier.

He reached out and placed his hand on Rachel’s cheek as if he were a moth and she were a light. His leafy eyes locked onto hers. “Thanks for coming out here Rae, I know you didn’t hafta.” He said with a chuckled. Garfield brushed his thumb across her face gently before moving his hand back to his side. “My bad I just- You’re just-“ Sometimes it was difficult for him to express himself through words.

Rachel put her finger on his lips to stop him. “It’s ok, Gar. I get it. Me too,” She smiled at him. She of all people understood how hard it was to express feelings. Luckily for her, she could sense it in others. That, and he had already said the “L” word just the other night. She didn’t know what that meant for their future, but the future can wait.

She removed her finger to cover her mouth as she yawned. Her eye lids were getting heavy, but she fought to keep them open so can keep looking at Gar. Rachel knew she had to hold on to the good moments in life, because they were the only thing that kept her from breaking down during the bad moments. This was a good moment she would hold onto for a long time.

“Say something interesting so I stay awake,” Rachel told him almost lethargically.

Garfield for once was glad for once that Rachel told him to be quiet, regardless of how it was done. He got the message that she also felt the same about him and that in its own right eased his mind one hundred percent. He could see the sluggish look in Rachel’s eyes and it made him smile a little bit.

Normally he could say something interesting on the spot but for some reason the pressure was felt immediately. Garfield had a thought from before when they were talking about suits. “Oh, Uhh I was thinking about getting a new suit. You know something different. Maybe a cool red and white!” He was a bit excited just thinking about it but remembered the issue his brain ran into. “But…I dunno where to get a suit from…”

Rachel shut her eyes and imagined a Red and White suit on Gar. “You’d look good in red and white.” Now that her eyes were shut, she was having a hard time getting them open again, and she was quickly losing the will to fight it.

“We could always try…heh…Spirit of Halloween,” she managed to joke. A smile crept across Rachel’s face and she leaned forward to meet her forehead with his. She couldn’t see him, but at least she could feel close to him.

“Goodnight, Ninja turtle,” she said, giving up the fight and allowing herself to slip away.

Garfield smiled knowing Rachel approved of his color scheme change though from the looks of it Rachel wasn’t in the condition to continue conversation. “Really? I think it would be cool too. We’d be the best duo team in the world!” He said while reaching his arm over her and resting it on her side.

Garfield tried to think of what exactly Spirit of Halloween before remembering it was just a store for Halloween that was open year round. Even he knew that was stupid since Halloween was only one day. Garfield felt Rachel’s gem press against his forehead and chuckled to himself as she fell asleep. “Goodnight Enchantress….” He scooted himself back and pulled her slowly to him so she wouldn’t fall off the couch in their sleep.

It didn’t take long for Garfield to fall asleep as usual and this time his dreams were more good than bad. He dreamt of himself as a dragon, a proper sized one, and Rachel was riding on his back. It was good and all but it saddened him to an extent considering he hadn’t turned into a dragon of that size yet. Garfield should probably practice that if he wanted to truly grow as a hero. Maybe Robin was right when they were younger. Training is important.

When Rachel woke up Garfield was still asleep next to her with the shape of her crystal imprinted on his green skin. He seemed to mumble in his sleep swiping for her as she got up. “Mmhm…watch this fire….” It seemed he was showing Rachel his dragon form in his sleep, grabbing her pillow and hugging it as her replacement.

Rachel had a very unusual dream, unusual for her that is. She dreamt she was flying on a big green dragon in the sky. The Dragon was of course Gar, and he was showing off what he could do in this new form of his. Rachel had never had a dream like that before, so while she was content in the dream, she was also confused and curious.

When she woke up, she found herself face to face with Gar, and then she understood the dream. Removing her forehead from his, she saw the indentation of her gem. She must have unintentionally went into his mind and saw his dream, thanks to the proximity.

“Oops,” she whispered. Carefully she pulled herself away from Gar’s arms and rolled off the couch. He started mumbling in his sleep, having a conversation with her about fire, then reached out his hands as if wanting her to go back in and see for herself. As sweet as that was, Rachel wasn’t going to intrude again without permission. She moved her pillow and he snatched it from her, giving it a big hug.

Rachel shook her head. “Weirdo,” she whispered to herself, and slowly made her way to the closet. She pulled out her winter jacket and threw it over her pajamas. There was a bagel shop she knew of that sold the best bagel’s in Jump City (her opinion). She figured they might serve as good motivation to finish all this Brotherhood business and save the city.

Rachel enveloped into her soul self and stretched up into the sky. Landing within moments on the side of the bagel shop building, away from onlookers. She knew this bagel shop well because it was right across the street from the city’s largest museum, a place Rachel liked to visit every once in a while. As Rachel stepped out into the street and headed inside the bagel shop, she wondered if Gar would like to see it with her sometime.

The bagel shop was a very small building, holding mainly the kitchen in back, the counter, and two 2-person tables. Most people didn’t stay to eat at the shop, just grab the bagels and go. There was a small line to the counter, but in a very short amount of time, Rachel made it to the front. She decided on getting half a dozen bagels of a mixed variety, not knowing which one was Garfield’s favorite.

“Here ya go, Miss. Merry Christmas!” The man behind the counter said, and Rachel choked on her own spit. Today was Christmas? How could she have missed that? Did Gar know? Did he get her a gift?

“Thanks,” Rachel said quickly before rushing outside. She needed to get him a gift. But what?

Garfield relaxed himself and started to drool a little on the pillow in his sleep. Suddenly his dream turned sour but not in a dangerous way. The flying green dragon was alone in the sky in the blink of an eye, feeling confused. The weight of Rachel had disappeared from his back and the fantastical reptile was not happy.

Garfield dove to the ground instantly and landed in what seemed to be a agricultural area with dirt and crops saturating the ground. He stomped around hopping to find a intact Rachel that simply fell off his back and flew to the ground. There’s no way she could’ve died right? She could fly, no way she’d let herself just splay on the ground.

In the distance Garfield saw Rachel at what appeared to be a store of some sort. She had a bag but he was more interested in her well-being than what was in the bag. He took flight keeping his body lower to the ground than normal, flying at Rachel full speed. As he closed in on her, Garfield woke up due to having fallen on the floor.

“Dude…” He groaned as he got up to his feet, rubbing his head. Garfield meandered around before looking at the couch and noticing Rachel was gone. “Rae?..” He called out before walking around the place. He first knocked on the bathroom door only to find it unlocked and empty, doing the same with her bedroom. “Guess she left. Wonder where to?”

Garfield was only slightly worried given their circumstances with the villains but then again if something was wrong she would’ve at least woken him. Also there’s no way they knew where the heroes lived now. His mind was eased before heading over to the freezer and grabbing some waffles, tossing them into the toaster. Garfield felt oddly at home here with Rachel in comparison to when he lived by himself. Sure he didn’t have all his things but he was certainly comfortable mentally and physically.

When the fluffy treats were finish, he snatched them out of their heated coffins before tossing them onto a plate with a blanket of syrup. Garfield moved to the living room and sat the plate on the coffee table before fumbling with the TV remote until turning it to the cable. Of course the default channel was the stupid news which revealed some surprising news to the young man. “Merry Christmas Jump City, hopefully your day will be better than todays weather. We’re looking at chilly wind…” Garfield stopped listening to the man as he droned on about the weather.

“Oh man! I forgot to get Rae a present!” He hopped up and ran towards his things, tossing on some sweatpants and a thick hoodie with mismatch socks before putting his shoes on. What were the things that Rachel liked? Garfield thought to himself before heading out the door, locking it of course and changing into a bird. Mid flight he thought about his dream. He’d never become a dragon that big without practice so why not become the dragon he already was. Once he changed into something once it became more and more natural so turning into a small dragon midair was a cinch.

Garfield thought of three things in particular. Music CDs, Spell stuff like candles and incense, and of course books. These were all things Garfield knew nothing about but perhaps Rachel would like one of them? Why not get all three just to be safe? With that Garfield began heading towards the CD place Rachel took him when they first met a week or so ago.

Bag of bagels in hand, Rachel looked around at the shops, waiting for inspiration to strike. Many shops were closed thanks to the holiday, but by some Christmas miracle a Game store right next to the museum called Press Play was open. She wrapped her jacket tighter around her and jogged over to it, dreading she didn’t get dressed out of her pajamas before leaving her apartment.

Along the way to the store, she couldn’t help but notice a new exhibit coming to the museum. Something about Ancient Greek Mythology. She was intrigued, but forced herself to go on, which was walking right into a woman who had also stopped to look at the museum. The woman was covered mostly by a long black jacket and big round sunglasses that took up most of her face, but really stood out to Rachel was the woman’s skin.

“Sorry, I wasn’t-“ Rachel began, but the woman ran off at an impressive rate. “-looking,” she finished. Rachel watched the woman go, thinking she must have just been seeing things, or didn’t see what she thought she saw. Anyway, it was none of her business, and she had a present to buy.

Rachel walked into the game store and immediately knew she didn’t belong there. Like the book store there were rows and rows of shelves, but these were stored with many different types of video games that Rachel knew absolutely nothing about.

“Uhhh. Hello?”

“Ahh! A customer!” A boy of about 12 years old popped up from behind the counter. Rachel took an instinctive step back as the boy ran over to greet her.

“Do…you…work here?” Rachel asked hesitantly.

“Kinda. My mom works here and she just stepped out to get hot chocolate so she left me in charge because I know all there is to know about video games. I’m an expert,” the boy said quickly and eagerly. Rachel moaned. Kids.

“All right. What’s your expert opinion on what game I should get my friend?” Rachel asked. “He likes animals and, uh, the Switch?”

“Oh that’s easy. Just get him Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s all about-“ and the boy went on and on about the game. Rachel tried to understand all the was being said. Finally she had to stop him.

“I’ll take it. Thanks. Do you gift wrap games?”

“No, but I think I still got a gift bag from Christmas morning in the back. Hold on!”

About 10 minutes of useless chatter later, Rachel stepped out of the shop with a red gift bag for Gar. She hoped Gar didn’t go all out for her, because she certainly felt guilty for the last minute excursion. If she was lucky, maybe he was still asleep on the couch. Rachel looked both ways before portaling back to her apartment.

Garfield dove down to the ground and rolled into a standing up position, now back in his human form. He opened the door to the CD store before heading in and running to the front desk. Luckily Jenna wasn’t listening to music or he’d probably have to wait even longer to get Rachel her present.

He ran past and went to the rack which held the disc they listened to together for the first time. It took a lot of his brain power to remember the actual artists name but when he did he picked a different album by the same person. Garfield picked an album called Evocative and figured this would be something Rachel would enjoy after giving the first song a listen.

Garfield went up to Jenna and put the CD on the counter before digging for his wallet. “Hey Garfield, how’s my Rachel doing?” He gave a smile and put his card into the reader. “She’s doing good. Just gotta figure out where I can get some candles and stuff for Christmas.” He explained while Jenna put his album in a bag and handing it to him. “If you go a couple stores down after taking a left there should be a store called Bath and Body Works.” Garfield smiled and pumped his fist. “Thanks Jenna!”

The young hero ran off and turned the corner with the bag in hand, looking for the store in question. He came across some automatic double doors and a sign that read Bath and Body Works: Christmas Day Sale!! He walked inside and heard the Christmas music that was playing, knowing that this must’ve been the place.

Garfield looked around the aisles, feeling quite out of place for such a nice and fancy place, at least in his eyes. He eventually got to the candle and incense section and the overwhelming smells combined with his sensitive nose gave him an instant head ache. He scanned through the names and found an herbal tea scent along with vanilla and grabbed the both of them.

Garfield wasn’t sure about what incense to grab so he grabbed the same smells and walked to the front register. Since the green dude was in a hurry his card was already in his hand and he gave it to the cashier. “Would you like a thing of wrapping paper for half price?” The smiling man asked but Garfield shook his head, knowing if he even had the time, his wrapping skills were subpar.

Garfield waved at the man as he ran out the door, “Merry Christmas!” Before heading to an alley and putting the bags on the ground. Garfield turned into a pterodactyl before grasping the bags with his claws and zooming home. When Rachel entered the house there was half eaten waffles on the coffee table and, of course, the couch was unmade. Ten minutes later Garfield landed in front of Rachel’s place and knocked on the door softly. “Hello, Rae?” He called, holding the bags behind his back.

Rachel appeared in the center of her living room and the first thing she noticed was the vacant couch. Slowly she took in the surroundings, the TV on showing the news, the waffles not completely eaten. Gar’s presence nowhere to be found. She closed her eyes, trying to sense him. He was somewhere in the city, not too far away, but she couldn’t make out where exactly he was. She looked at the TV, wondering if it shown something that caused him to run off. It had to be something important enough for him to leave good on his plate.

“I have to go look for him,” she said to no one, throwing the bag of bagels on the counter and running into her room to quick get changed. She opted for a green sweater and black jeans, something casual so she can blend in the crowd if needed. It hadn’t felt like he was in danger, or at least that he was aware of. She put her present on her bed and started throwing on her jacket again when she heard the knock at the door.

“Gar?” Rachel dropped her jacket and went to answer the door. Behind the front door was just the person she’d been worried about. She frowned at him.

“Gar, where were you? I was just about to go out looking for you,” Rachel said, standing aside to let him in.

Garfield was never good at keeping secrets very long and knew that Rachel would like these gifts. “We’ll I had to go pick up some stuff fooooor….” He shuffled sideways through the door, holding the items he purchased behind his back. He walked backwards until he was a decent distance from Rachel. “You! Merry Christmas!”

Garfield grinned as he walked up to Rachel and gave her the bags. “I woulda got you a book but I don’t know a bunch about them.” He admitted with a rub of his head. He then turned the subject to something else “Buuuut I did get you some stuff for when you meditate or whenever you wanna do your thing.” Garfield explained.

That explained the TV and uneaten waffles. He had forgotten about Christmas just as she had. She raised an eyebrow as he gave a big hint as to what he got her.

“You didn’t have to get me anything, Gar,” She said as she gratefully took the bags from him. Using powers, Rachel brought her present for him from her room. “Buuuuut I got you something too. And bagels, which was the original reason I left this morning,” she confessed. The present floated over to him so he can grab it.

“Merry Christmas. Now come on, let’s open them up.” Rachel led them back over to the couch so they can sit and open their gifts. Rachel opened hers first, taking out the tea, incense, and CD. She gravitated to the smell of the incense, bringing it up to her nose to sniff it. “Nice choice,” she complimented. “Thanks. These are very thoughtful gifts.”

Which made her uncertain of her own gift. He put a lot of thought into his gift for her, meanwhile she just picked the game a 12 year old boy recommended. “I, uh, hope you like yours. I don’t know a lot about it, but.. you’ll see.” She put her gifts aside and watched him open the bag.

Garfield took the glowing black present from the air with wide eyes. Seeing the shape of it he could instantly tell what it was but decided to be patient for once and wait for Rachel to open her gift. “I know but what type of dude would I be if I didn’t?” He said while she actually opened up the bag.

Garfield followed Rachel before sitting next to her with his gift. He got a little giddy about watching her take out the things one by one. “You like it! Awesome, I was just thinking bout things you like and stuff.” He said while looking at the box in his own hands.

Garfield waited until Rachel was ready for him to open his present. Garfield unwrapped the video game case before his eyes lit up. “I’ve seen this game before! I wanted to try it out, thanks Rae.” he said giving Rachel a hug to show a bit of his appreciate for his partner.

Rachel accepted the hug, thinking that maybe she didn’t do such a bad job after all. “Sure. I hope it’s a fun game.”

From the hug, Rachel could hear the weatherman on the TV talking about the chilly winter weather for the day. He finished his segment and brought it back to the news anchor, who started a story that sparked her interest. She pulled away from the hug and raised the volume to listen.

“Construction has begun on the first ever Lexcorp building in Jump City at the location of gas explosion just days ago. Too soon for construction? Mr. Lex Luthor doesn’t think so. Field correspondent Betty Cander has the story. Betty?”

The shot changed from the dark mustached news anchor to a small middle-aged woman at ground zero of the blasted building Rachel and Gar were in just days ago. Rachel leaned forward in her seat.

“Thanks, Arthur. Construction began early this Christmas morning with leveling the ground for the early framework of Lexcorp’s most recent project. Mr. Luthor was unavailable to comment, but what we can surmise is whatever Lexcorp is planning with this building, it’s worth the holiday pay. Mr. Luthor has expressed interest in the past of outreach in Jump City and we’ll be with him every step of the way to cover the story. Jumping back to you, Arthur.”

“I guess Luthor doesn’t take the holidays off,” Rachel said flatly. She began to think about the address she found and the old Brotherhood base. Was there a correlation? “It could be a red herring to keep us from looking at the right building. Everyone is focused on this land, they don’t even know he’s already in Jump City.”

Garfield stopped the hug and got up to grab his switch. While Rachel watched the news report he paid zero attention to, he dug around and pulled out his handheld device only to eject Smash and put it away. Garfield opened up Animal Crossing to put the cartridge in and flopped down on the couch.

He made himself comfortable and leaned against the arm of the chair opposite to Rachel and put his feet on the couch. Garfield focused more on the game like a kid on Christmas while the news went on. He loaded the game and even got to make his character after himself “Gar”. Once Rachel began talking he peeked over the switch to look at her.

“What’s a fish gotta do with a evil rich dude?” He asked in reference for Rachel’s red herring quote. Garfield then remembered something. “Are we ‘posed to look at that place today? Can at just chill for a bit together? It’s Christmaaaas.” The green man pleaded with the half demon.

“What do you mean fish-? Oh,” Rachel was confused until she realized he didn’t understand the expression. She frowned at him and crossed her arms.

“We’ve been avoiding this building for too long. Luthor obviously doesn’t care that it’s Christmas, and he’s had enough time to do whatever he’s doing there.” As much as she didn’t feel like facing her vision, if it was the moment her vision came true. Holding off on it would only make things worse, which was not an option. She took out her phone and looked up the building on her maps app.

“Maybe there’ll even be less security to sneak around if his security is gone for the holidays. This might be the best chance we’ve got to get in and get out without so much of a fight,” Rachel added. She noticed that the secret Lexcorp building also wasn’t too far from the town house she saw last night. If things all went well, maybe they’d get more than one win today.

Garfield sort of half-watched his upset partner and half watch the game she had just bought him. He put the game down only when she crossed her arms and began talking about their constant procrastination of Lex. Personally he wasn’t exactly upset about having to do so but the chance of danger was very high.

Garfield sat up and put the game next to his thighs in between the two heroes. “I mean I wanna stop him Rae I really do but…. What if something happens to you? I don’t want that to happen…” He explained looking down at his hands that were resting on his legs. If she was right about Lex not being in them it would altogether be a pretty nice experience.

“Fine but if it’s real quick we gotta do something fun after.” Garfield agreed while putting the switch away and getting up. He pulled Rachel to her feet with a smile. “Hurry up so we can do something cool.” It was now set in his mind that Rachel’s thoughts on Luthor and security being low was now fact so he just wanted to get things over with.
