Realistic or Modern Be Ready For Me

Carmen had just finished up with her only client of the day and gone to treat herself to some lunch before heading home. She was doing surprisingly well and had spent the last six months trying to keep herself busy. Noah had ended up buying her half of the house from her which had saved a lot of the hassle of having to sell together and she was in a rented house about an hour away from him now so she didn't risk bumping into him all the time. She had thought about moving back to New Jersey but she had a life in LA now and she didn't want to leave it all behind. She had just turned the corner to go to her favorite coffee place when she finally looked up and saw him stood there, having to stop in her footsteps for a moment before continuing on, planning to walk right by until she caught him look up and they made direct eye contact.

Will was sat up when her and Maya arrived, smiling a little as she was immediately scrambling to get up on the bed, wrapping his arms around her as much as he could, "Have you and Mommy come to break me out of here?" He asked her, smiling as she nodded, looking up at Max and winking at her "How's little man behivaing?" He asked her, slowly moving so he was sat on the edge of the bed. This time round had kicked his ass and even now he was working at getting back to 100%, just forever grateful that he had at least survived. "You okay?" He asked her frowning a little.

Noah looked around just scoping the area when his eyes fell on her. He couldn't help the genuine smile that came across his face as he saw her. She was beautiful as ever, and all he wanted was to pull her into him. He gave a small wave at her and walked over "Hey.....how uh....how are you doing?" He asked her gently hoping she'd talk to him.

Max smiled softly at him as they got into the room and nodded "Yeah he's doing okay. Doctors still want me to keep an eye on my blood pressure." She explained before kissing his cheek gently "How are you feeling today?" She asked while she watched Maya cuddle into him the best she could.

He nodded a little and watched her tiredly "Worn out. Ready to get home to my girls and the cats." He smiled, "Did you bring me clothes?" He asked her, thanking her when she handed them over, moving Maya to sit where he had been while he slowly got himself dressed, having to sit down after to catch his breath for a moment then finally stood up "They already did my papers before you guys got here... I'm free to leave with you." He told her happily, reaching for her to step closer, placing one hand on her bump "Mmm... just a couple more months til it's really a mad house at home." He chuckled quietly

She sighed quietly and nodded "Hi... I'm uh, I'm doing good. What are you doing round here?" She asked him. There was so much that she wanted to say but she was a little surprised by suddenly seeing him in her neck of the woods for the first time that it had thrown her off guard. "I hear you guys are fully in the studio now." She said, "Listen uh... I'm actually running late to get to a meeting with a client but maybe we could catch up or someth-" She cut herself off when she saw the gorgeous brunette walking directly up to him and take his arm.

"Okay I'm ready to go. Some lady spilled her coffee all over the table so I was helping her clean it up." Laura smiled up at Noah. She'd met him through mutual friends and they'd hit it off really well. She knew nothing of his music or the alternative scene at all, she had just liked him as a person. She glanced at the woman talking to him, assuming she was just a big fan and smiled sweetly, "I'm so sorry, I'm gonna have to steal him away, we got plans we're running late to." She told her, waving to her as Noah took her hand and led her away.

Max nodded with a small laugh "Yeah it will be." She said before yawning and helping him get dressed the rest of the way. "I got the downstairs room set up better with a bed just in case you ever need it okay?" She murmured before getting Maya in her stroller and starting to head out with him "Your mom is also going to come by too and help around."

Noah nodded some "Yeah should be out soon, hoping its as good as the last." He said softly before tensing ever so slightly as he felt Laura's arm go in his. He looked down at her and gave a small smile, not nearly as genuine as he had given Carmen "It was good seeing you." He said quietly to her before heading off with Laura.

Carmen frowned as he walked off, feeling like she was going to be sick, deciding to forego the coffee and head straight home, calling up Poppy and just sobbing down the phone to her, not having known he'd moved on or that she would be quite so upset by it, eventually hanging up to go make herself some ramen and curl up with a movie and the animals.

Laura sat at home with Noah sighing quietly "You okay babe?" She asked him yawning a little as he'd been quiet all afternoon since they'd got back to her place. "She wasn't like... a weirdo fan or something was she?" She asked him concerned

He nodded and moved to help Maya down off the bed, frowning when she kept reaching for him to pick her up "You gotta walk sweetheart." He told her gently "I'm sorry but Daddy can't pick youup right now." He told her quietly frowning when she just started crying instead and ran to hug Max's legs instead, blubbering about him being mean, "When we get home you can have all the cuddles you like okay?"

Noah sat at home quiet as his mind raced over all his memories with Carmen. He looked over at Laura when she spoke and shook his head some "No, no she uh....she's my ex." He said giving a small sigh "I haven't seen her since she signed over her piece of the house."

Max sighed softly and got Maya to sit down with her for a second "Maya we talked about this remember? Daddy is still sick and can't lift you okay? He isn't being mean." She explained calmly giving a small smile when she stopped crying and gave a small nod "I'm sure Daddy would love to hold your hand while you walk though."

She frowned and just rubbed his back slowly "Shit. That was her? Well damn, her loss." She sighed, frowning when he just stood up and walked to the kitchen. "Noah? You okay?" She called

He smiled some and reached for her hand, walking about the same speed anyway as they headed out to the car, helping her get in and got her in her car seat at least before having to sit and regather himself for a minute

Noah frowned deeper and got up not wanting to say something that would end badly. He went to kitchen and opened a beer for himself sighing heavily as he ran a hand over his face "Yeah....I'm just gonna go play some games for a bit." He called before heading to his game room, rooting through some drawers before finding her ring box. He sat back in his chair and bit his lip as he popped it open, remembering when he gave it to her and letting a few tears fall.

Max smiled and took a photo of the two of them walking as she stayed behind them. Once they were in the car she got it started immediately and got the heater going now that it was well and good into winter. "You okay?" She asked worriedly.

He nodded and sighed a little "Most distance I've done in a while." He told her quietly, "I'm okay, promise." He murmured, glancing back to see Maya staring out the window, "I can't believe how big she's been getting." He sighed happily. It had been rough only being able to see her once or twice a week for so long but he was coming home finally at least.

Laura sighed a little, shaking her head and got up to go get the dishes done and start working on some of the work she'd brought home with her. She worked a corporate job, far from his world, and was half hoping that once they were settled fully that she would be able to quit working and just be a housewife instead, tired of the 9-5. She sighed quietly as she felt hands on her shoulders much later on and glanced up "You wanna just get takeout for dinner?" She asked him, leaning back into him some.

Max nodded and smiled happily "Yeah she is, she's starting to finally grasp the concept of a baby." She murmured taking his hand in hers before starting to head home.

Noah gave a small nod smiling a bit as he watched her "Yeah what would you like?" He asked as he rubbed her shoulders a bit "You got work at the office tomorrow?"

She groaned happily and nodded "I got the afternoon off though, thought I'd come home and we could open a bottle of wine. We got some catching up to do with Love Island." She told him quietly. "You can watch all your cartoons before I get back." She teased him a little. She couldn't stand anime and had refused to watch any with him, frowning when his phone started pinging off the hook "You should probably check that out." She frowned, standing to clear her work stuff away and go get the menus out the drawer.

Nick sighed in relief when he picked up first try "Hey, uh you need to turn off instagram for a minute. Just delete the app, don't log in.... People are tagging you in a post that you really don't need to look at." He told him frowning. His girlfriend had shown him the moment he'd got home that evening the post Carmen had made, not mentioning Noah once but the song and the expression was enough to send fans into a frenzy.

"You wanna get Thai food tonight? I don't want you lifting a finger today." He told her, fiddling with her fingers. He was beyond grateful that he was finally coming home properly and he just wanted to spend the time with Max relaxing rather than be sat watching her run around like a headless chicken all afternoon and evening. "What time is her nap?" He asked. His biggest setback from everything was his memory not being as good. That alongside working to slowly get his strength back had been the hardest of his challenges

Max nodded with a small smile "Yeah Thai sounds great. Its in about 30 minutes so she'll need to go down when we get home." She explained while she drove them home holding his hand "So I was thinking, what if we named him William?"

Noah frowned deeply and raised an eyebrow "Whats happened?" He asked before stepping out of the room "I saw Carmen today at the coffee shop....she....she looked good, real good." He said quietly before running a hand through his growing hair.

He nodded slowly, "hmm. That's a nice name." He mumbled yawning a little, not processing at all that it was his own name, "Where we going?" He asked her confused. They had both been warned that there would be times like this at least for the forseeable future. They hoped it would eventually pass but that wasn'ta guarantee

Nick frowned and just rubbed at his face. "Oh jeez Noah... I ... Just trust me on this one please?" He asked him, "I've known you how long? Just.... Trust me." He told him with a sigh, knowing he'd probably be ignored "There's just a post on there that a bunch of people are tagging you in that you don't need to see." He told him. He'd been there with him the whole way, dealiing with the fallout of the break up. He wasn't naive enough to think that Noah had been innocent but he was still his best friend and brother and he didn't want to see him spiral further.

Max frowned a bit and gave his hand a small squeeze "We're going home babe." She said quietly. It broke her heart everytime he forgot something important like the way home or that she wanted to name their son after him.

Noah sighed heavily and gave a small nod "Yeah alright." He muttered before looking at his phone and swiping away from all the notifications.

Laura had been doing a little bit of a stalk while he was in the other room, curious now that he had said it was his ex girlfriend. She knew he'd been broken up about it and that they had been engaged but after a little scouting session over the woman's socials she was left feeling put out. They were so vastly different and she didn't know if that was a good or bad thing.

He nodded slowly and frowned, not saying much until they got back and he helped get Maya out of the car, taking her inside, smiling as she led him through to the living room to show him the cats, sitting down on the couch and carefully getting her up into his lap, cuddling her close, "You gonna be a good girl and let Mommy take you for your nap?" He asked her

Noah came back in after a few minutes and gave Laura a smile "Ready for me to order dinner?" He asked softly before kissing her forehead gently

Max waddled into the house and smiling happily seeing the two of them cuddled up. She was a bit more slow moving this pregnancy due to gaining more weight than her previous. She watched as Maya pouted but nodded and came over to her "Don't worry baby, he'll be here when you wake up okay?"

She nodded and smiled a little, slipping her arms around his waist, "I was thinking maybe tomorrow after I finish work I could come home and we could go see a movie?" She suggested, frowning as her phone started pinging and she opened it to see people were now tagging her in a post by his ex, "What the fuck? What is wrong with people? Your fans are so weird." She muttered, shaking her head, "You know they were sending me videos the other day of you and her.... Like edits with music and stuff... I don't want them making videos of me. It's so gross." She muttered.

He watched them go and just lay there on the couch exhausted from the car ride, jumping a little when Max was shaking him awake, "Sorry... I started drifting off. You doing okay beautiful?" He asked her, reaching for her to come sit with him, getting her to lean back against him while he held her, rubbing big slow. circles in her bump "I can't wait to meet him." He murmured

Noah frowned deeply and gave a heavy sigh "I'm sorry they've drug you into this. It might be better to out your profile on private for just a little bit." He said shrugging some "I dunno, some of the edits are cute, but sometimes they are weird too."

Max smiled and relaxed as she sat down against him "Mmm I'm doing alright. He's wearing me out though, way more that Maya did." She murmured as she closed her eyes to just relax more "I can't wait either."

He smiled and kissed her head. “Anything I can do?” He asked her quietly, just holding her close and trying to stay awake so she wasn’t hanging out on her own.

“No. It’s gross and weird and I’m suing anyone who does it.” She muttered, going to pour herself a large glass of wine while he sorted out their dinner.

Max shook her head and gave him a small smile hearing the tiredness in his voice "Take a nap baby, I'll be alright." She said quietly

Noah frowned deeper and shook his head a bit "I don't think sueing is the way to go about it. Again, just place you account on private and it'll be fine." He murmured giving a small sigh. He liked Laura a lot, it was a bit refreshing to have someone not from his world, but times like these is where it proved difficult too.

He nodded and hummed quietly, holding her to him as he drifted off. Once maya was up from her nap a while later and settled after being woken up she was with max in the kitchen for a bit before heading to the living room and just standing near her dad asleep on the couch, staring at him for a minute before trying to get up next to him for a cuddle.

Carmen was curled up on the couch with a couple of her current foster dogs, watching some anime with her takeout when the notifications came through of this woman pinging her constantly, finally pausing the show to take a look and tensed, recognising her as the woman with Noah yesterday.

Max came out and frowned gently seeing Maya trying to get onto the couch "Baby no let Daddy sleep okay?" She said softly sighing a bit when she noticed Will was waking up "Sorry, I didn't mean for her to wake you."

Noah had no idea Laura had been looking into Carmen. He didn't understand why she would. He ordered their food and sat beside her putting on the show she wanted to watch while they waited.
