Hestialuna Hestialuna , Eldor looks good and is approved. I like what you have in the History section, but make sure to also have a tie/relationship to at least one of the player-characters as well. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to seeing how he interacts with the other characters.

Everyone, all these characters look great and are approved. I love the mix of character types and personalities we have. This is going to be fun.

We have a few other characters we're waiting on who said they'd finish over the weekend. I can't wait to see how they turn out. In the meantime, I'm going to get the intro posted with the opening post so we can start playing.

Some things that I want to mention about myself. I've run a bunch of games over a lot of years. I won't bore you with the details. The point is, when I run a game, I care about two things:
  1. Your characters. I want to play to hear their story and see where it takes us. Playing to find out is the best part about running. I don't have a set agenda or story. The story results from play. I'm looking forward for us to create our story here.
  2. Player agency. I'm going to either say yes to what you want to do, or challenge it in-game. I want you to feel like this our story to tell through your characters.
One last thing. As this is our story, I plan to ask your guys questions about the world and things in it. I may ask you to tell me about something that isn't established yet. People, places, events. Feel free to get creative and put what you want to see in the world.

Sounds like fun!
I have the renewed history section:
Eldor worked with Elias Beast-Bane to clear away a spot that was blocking the way to fresh water.

Im thinking perhaps Tanner needed help tracking down a beast that had been eluding him for weeks on end, avoiding even his tracking talents. He couldn't give up the hunt, and so forced himself to work with your guy to accomplish his mission.

Oh he would have noticed, but the only times he is seen in public is when he is getting incredibly drunk and wasted, so she might not have noticed him. As for in the field, he is a bit of a brutal fighter, and she could probably follow the trail of bodies to wherever he is.

As to how he would respond, he would most likely play it cool and disinterested, and generally just trying to avoid getting into any long term conversations.
I have a rough idea: the Forty Elephants are docked in a city (name to be determined), and the crew—as natural buccaneers—decide to celebrate a recent voyage at a tavern and somehow wind-up in a drinking game with Tanner who, apropos, ends up crushing them.

Tanner could offer Ash a drink amidst drunken chaos and she politely refuses and hauls her crew away.

That sounds good to me. I think Finch would be very eager to impress a talented wanderer and receive a boost in status. :p

If they were criminals and what not, Tanner would definitely take them down like that. Maybe he would more question Ash.

So it would be appropriate to write them down as 'familiar strangers'. Acquaintance is too friendly a terminology and pure strangers is too harsh.
They could recognise each other in Oakheart as a familiar face and encounter, nothing more.

Most likely, I agree.

My sheet is up, but a massive work in progress.

Please, if anyone is interested in having a past with my character, let me know. If not, I'll decide myself after I've completed the rest of her sheet.

If you need an interaction you can use Tanner.

I'd like to talk with you first about what they could have done together. It doesn't necessarily have to have been a good encounter.

It could possibly have been a fight. Tanner is stubborn, and it wouldn't take much to push him into a fight.

It might be a little out of the ordinary, but Voxi is a former professor. If anyone has characters that may have fiddled with magic long ago, he had taught some students bits of magic and sorcery when he taught in school, so that could be our history. It'd be a slight stretch, but it's not so far-fetched that it'd be completely unrealistic.

Hello again all, apologies for joining in on the conversation so late. I work all day most days so expect my posts to come around the evening Chicago time.

Ronan Ronan I'd be happy to set up some prior connection between Elias and Ash, as well as anyone else who wants to do so. I feel at least one prior relationship he has should extend beyond "is aware they exist," though. Perhaps he and Ash shared some monster-hunting adventure together at some point? Something like chasing down a ship crewed by people-turned-monsters.

My post count isn't high enough yet to start private conversations, but if anyone wants to work out the details on character relationships feel free to PM me, I'll be on all night tonight.

Monster-hunting! Love it! I'm going to steal an idea from the Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt—perhaps Elias and Ash team up to exploit a town's secrets and darkness? On the surface, the town could've passed for a normal one with the races intermingling and peace, but with the veil lifted, it's discovered that it's denizens are all some horrible Eldritch being ruled by a Baron.
