Thing is, this is OUR game where we explore the characters we enjoy. It’s of course not 100% freedom as I don’t think we want Sailor Moon to drop in and take care of all our problems. But as long we’re enjoying it as a group, yeah. Pretty much. I might try to challenge your characters with some outside bits.

But all that wonderful and amazing lore you see? Not me. The group built all that.

The Tower Card holder and the power of the card is 100% ambiguous and can be whatever you want, the House of the Tower is a little bit harder to change as it’s directly tied to the Tarot divination, I don’t think it interferes with your plot I took that into account ;p

Grammatic I think we have radically different ideas behind the lore here. The idea being that there is no ‘royal family’, the Royal Family is merely the House in the Arcana that has controlling interest over the Empire. The Sun being the current seat of power after expelling the House of the World.

I’m not sure about what Vrenal is and the stance on vampires but I had assumed Vampirism superseded the current era of the Arcane Houses (as established through Angel) and had some sort of ancient Empire that the Human Empire has long since defeated.

In order to logically support A large diverse kingdom, Noble Houses were established who run their domains as they see fit and they themselves have countless small border wars, political strife in order to have the legitimate claim of power over the rest of the Arcane. So there wouldn’t be any true single ‘king’ just whichever house currently has enough power to assert dominion.

So if we were to blend the two ideas the “Emperor” of our Empire is the Head of the House of the Sun. And the House of the World which was cast out recently was the old ancient influence of the Vampire Kingdom, meaning that we get an excellent sense of Symbolism with the Sun burning vampires and all as well as a direct lineage for your idea of a Royal Family to be the House of the Sun.

The whole legate council idea isn’t needed on a country wide scale because various Houses would occupy those positions and wouldn’t fit in themematically with some of them but the Legate council could certainly be an internal council within the House of the Sun who advise and have links to the Emperor whose House of the Sun lineage goes back to the rebels that broke the Vampire grip over humanity.

I think that works really well in blending the ideas and making both lore plans richer in the end

Basically, the Houses are all pretty big but the Sun in accordance with the Tarot is probably the biggest and most virile of the Houses and can directly trace their founding to the rebels who brought down the Vampire kingdoms allowing for the rise of the Arcana Houses. Time passes and the House of the World takes control back but are secret vampires and the House of the Sun reignites and takes back the control of the Throne! Also that way we can totally have drama about what Noble Houses backed the Sun vs what Houses backed the World

They are the dominant power in the Known World, ruled by Humans with representation of every species, excluding Vampires, within their borders. There was not Human Empire before or after them, as they are the first nation to have ever existed in the world following the Rebellion, and the overthrowing of the Elders. Other nations formed from refugees and exiles of the Empire of Vrenal, but the Empire itself has never been overthrown or replaced.

The Ruling family are direct descendants of the Humans who led the Rebellion against the Elders, and are seen as near god-like by most people of Vrenal, as their saviors are liberators from the Elders.

The Legate council was made up of representatives elected by each region and major city in the Empire, and serving as the governing body under the Emperor. I say we can remove this group, and replace it with the Arcana groups. Maybe the Sun have replaced the former heads of the Council, who served as the Chancellor and the second most powerful position in the Empire of Vrenal under the Emperor himself?

Ah see that doesn’t work with what I wrote in because then why are there any Noble Houses at all?

I just think it’s less interesting to have a single royal line of god beings ruling than 22 Houses vying for power. Why not just make the Royal line you are describing the House of the Sun and have them in charge the same way? That way at least the other Houses serve a literary purpose, a single ruling lineage makes them defunct.

Sun continues to lead the Arcane, fights off the World to continue leading.

then all we gotta do is smush the Royal Family stuff into the Sun House, IE rewriting the House of the Sun to fit your lore!

Streamlines while providing diversity to the country and allowing for some heavy duty political intrigue with the Arcana Houses vying for the throne behind the back of the House of the Sun instead of the Houses playing lip service

Houses will have to be formed after the Rebellion, as there was no coordination or real order before then. House Sun can be formed with the formation of the Rebel leader and the Vampire union, and the name could be a calling to the Civil War where the Vampires were driven away, the Sun fighting the dark. House Sun remains the ruling House, with the other Houses still bowing to them, as the Sun lead the Empire of Vrenal through the ensuing Vampire Wars and the first Great War.

That can work, and other Houses are just now starting to become powerful and independent enough to challenge the Sun, agreed?

Hi all.

After careful consideration I have decided to withdrawal from this RP.

I'm having a blast, but even after my resolve to continue the best that I can, it is simply too much to juggle roleplaying with my obligations. Time is not found, it is made, but I need to focus on what is important right now, which is staying on track with my college assignments and other time-consuming tasks.

Please feel free to kill off Faythe however you would like, but please refrain from powerplaying my character (having her speak or move from her own POV) or tagging me in posts in the future. I appreciate your consideration.

I will reply to the Discord server to make sure all my bases are covered before unwatching all threads related to Banners & Blood. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have, but please only ask in a PM. I will no longer respond to any posts in the OOC.

Perhaps when I have free time and you all are recruiting again, I will take this up again with a different character. Thank you for letting me take part in this story and I will see you all around. C:

Oh man! Is there a house right now that is leading the pack in capability to challenge the current rule?

The House of Death is always a threat to the status quo, that’s the whole point of the Tarot card. It’s not so much a physical “death” but a death of the Standard way. I thought by making them engineers and scientists and inventors capable of creating machines and potions that eliminate the need for the past they’d be good representation of that Arcana. Plus they could do all their machinery and art with a Death motif and put skulls all over everything
