Fandom Attack on Titan: The Strange Happenings(Not accepting anyone anymore)

Ken sighed as he still kept his eyes on the fire. "I know what I said and I meant it... She was lucky... She got found. I didn't I had to get out myself." He whispered before closing his eyes a painful memory passing him which just caused him to tense and go silent. He suddenly felt sick as a buried memory arose despite how much he tired to keep it away he shook ever so slightly but one could assume that was simply because he was cold.

"Sorry" Hanji says and she sighs "And maybe you were found, but you really shouldn't act rude because of your past", she wasn't good at trying to cheer someone up, so she didn't get why she was even trying "Also, you grew up in the underground, at least there was food there you could steal, there wouldn't be any snow there, so I think you both had it as bad as the other".

Ken didn't respond at first. 'Food I could steal? Barely edible, too moldy or rotten to be consumed with poisoning me... I didn't have a home, I saw my mother get raped and killed the offenders ignore my pleas as well as my sister, my father went crazy and beat the living shit out of me and my sis taking any food the two of us gathered up, once again ignoring my pleas for him to stop ... Only for me to come home to see him dead after he was tortured and murdered.... I watched my scarred/starved sister get a serious case of frostbite. And no matter how fucking nice I was to anyone no one would help.... Meaning the only person that I gave to shits about died in my arms leaving me on my own....' He thought only to stop his train of thought there not wanting to remember what happened to him next. He buried his face in his arms to hide the fact he was feeling sick now. "... Being nice never helped me... It's pointless." He whispered in a slightly cracked voice.

"The underground is full of people who don't care about others, here it's the complete opposite, everyone in the Survey Corps looks out for each other, despite not liking some people" Hanji says and she adds "Though I'm sure you never noticed that".

Ken took a deep shaky breath a few times before he returned to normal. Looking up he smirked at Hanji. "A family huh? Not very inviting to the trouble child." He said with a snicker as he looked back at fire. "You guys were never warm to me... Even when I was brand new... It's not easy for me to be nice to you if you are jackass to me." He hummed in a happy tone.

"They tried, you just didn't notice it, you pushed them all away, your first week here you could have made some friends, but you were only rude to them" Hanji says looking at him "Erwin had asked if I could keep an eye on you, so I noticed".

Ken shrugged at this. "Friends? They kept asking who I plan to blackmail so I could rise through the ranks. They asked as to how I planned to backstab them... They weren't friendly and those that seemed to be... They were probably faking it. They wanted to leave the room as soon as possible, they hated being near me because they believed I would use every word uttered from them as blackmail in the future... And the ones that didn't want to leave the room and seemed nice... I simply couldn't bring myself to trust them... Then nicest people have something dark they are hiding under that smile, most of the time."

"They were trying, but you pushed them away, your fault for not trusting them, however if you don't trust your comrades you don't know if they have your back or not" Hanji says and she sighs "You just failed to see how they weren't trying to hide anything from you".

Ken sighed as he let out another yawn. "I told you I'm not perfect... I may be good at many things, but my trust issues will stop me from getting better." He said calmly as he did a stretch. "Character flaw and all that. But you are aware just because I'm rude doesn't mean I'm bad... I know what I'm doing and I'm confident in my abilities.."

"Too confident if you ask me" Hanji mumbles and she pulls her knees to her chest "Well, you should all eat a bit before getting some sleep" he says, she wasn't going to let anyone keep watch, she knew the forest better then anyone.

Ken shrugged and took a few berries and some roots for himself before passing it on. "Here." He said to one of the cadets that took the food and passed it on. "Get ready for bad bowel movement." He muttered as he ate slowly not caring for the taste.

"It's the best we have for now, we'll look for something else tomorrow" Hanji says and she sighs "Erza and Levi are so lucky... Erza can ask animals for help and Levi has Luna in his squad, she can also ask animals for help".

"The hell? Are they both princesses?? Do they break into song at every event as well? That makes no sense.... Animals don't just listen to people." Ken said before shaking his head. "Then again titans exists... Still think that doesn't make sense." He said with a shrug as he let out a yawn.

"Luna and Erza both have a strong bond with animals, though some are easier to befriend then other" Hanji explains and she sighs "They can ask animals for food... we can't".

Ken looked at Hanji and pointed at his head. "Then we will use our heads. You are a genius scientist and I know how to survive without everyday things, and they are the extra muscle." He said as he pointed at the other cadets. "I could get us a feast if you let me get meat... But even without it we'll survive."

"No we are not killing animals and they are not extra muscle" Hanji says getting up "That was rude, but you don't even notice you're doing it now get some sleep" she says and adds "And do not come to help me with watch duty".

Ken blinked as he remained in his spot by the fire. "That wasn't an insult, how was that rude? It was a fact. These guys are extra muscle, if it was just the two of us things would be hard. But with four more guys life will be easier in terms of having to move heavy things or building." He said confused. "And I don't get why we can't have some meat... Out in the wall there is no guarantee there is edible plants out there, so learning to hunt in this weather would be a useful thing to know.."

"You sound like they can't do anything else!" Hanji says and she adds "That's what I mean you don't notice you're being rude, surviving isn't only about being smart of having the right skills, it's about teamwork, something you can't do! Now get some sleep!". She couldn't believe that guy just said they're extra muscle.

Ken stayed by the fire a bit longer before standing up. "You didn't answer my question about the no meat thing... As for the other thing I know they got brains in their heads, but what are the chances they had an opportunity to learn survival skills? I'm not calling them useless or a lost cause." He shook his head and let out a sigh. "Forget it, you won't listen to any logic so I'm wasting my breath." He grumbled as he walked over to a tree to sleep in.

"And you don't questions order you get from a superior" Hanji calls after him and she looks at the fire, she had to be hard on him, or he wouldn't listen, he looks at the sky "I hope the others have better lucky..." she mumbles, she was responsible for the group and the cadets already were nervous as hell, he only made it worse. "Find your own tree" a cadets says glaring at Ken "Since you seem to know everything, shoo, we don't need you!"

Ken blinked at the cadets for a moment before sighing. "Yeah yeah." He mumbled as he turned on his heel to go else where. He honestly didn't see how he had insulted the cadets as to him that was a compliment if anything. He said they were extra muscle instead of saying useless trash that they had to waste supplies on. He admitted he thought the cadets were strong and could be helpful in this survival drill. Shivering in the cold he looked for a suitable tree and he grumbled under his breath. "Everyone here makes no damn sense..."

"You're the one that makes no sense" Hanji says and she sighs "You made it sound like they're not smart enough" she adds, she was laying in the snow, she rarely got cold, thanks to her being a werewolf, that was also the reason she was going to keep watch, wild wolves had never once attacked her.

Ken looked around a bit but he had a hard time finding any place that was good enough to sleep in safely. After a bit he tripped over a root and landed face first in a muddle puddle. Getting out of that filth he dried himself off the best he could as his teeth chattered in the cold. Getting up he moved further from the cadets and the fire as the only suitable tree seemed to be some distance away.

Levi sighed " maybe it's your injuries... you body is trying to heal and at the same time fight the cold... so that could explain why" he said as he put an arm around her and help her closely.

" I don't think so... " Erza said with a sigh " they won't hurt us now... trust me" she said as she looked down the cave and then outside. The two bird she sent out came back with a huge leaf that had edible berries in it. It was enough for everyone. Erza smiled and petted the birds " thank you" the two then few off. 5 minutes later Armin came back with a bunch of leave and stuff to tie them up with and Mikasa came back with some more food. The set them down and then sat down to rest. " good job" Erza said as she went over and got the snow off the two.

Luna nods "Probably" she mumbles and sighs "But I won't quit halfway" she adds, she wasn't someone who would give up that easily. Petra looks at the guys who were getting nowhere "Come on... you said you could fish" she says and Gunther says "I got three fish so far, but it's cold".


Victoria nods slightly "But I'm staying as far away from them as possible" she says and ruffles Armin's hair so the snow falls out "You look cold" she says and sighs "So... what do we do now?"


Hanji looks at the sky "Levi shouldn't have any problem with the cold either, though I wonder how Luna's holding up with her injuries" she mumbles and sees Ken leaving "You are staying with the group!"
