Futuristic At the Edge of the Apocalypse, an Eternal Principle

So, at what point do we need to make a roll here, since I am unfamiliar with the system, or what liberties can be taken now that combat has presumably begun?

Some options Cassidy might take here would be to scan the target, reposition to gain a surprise attack (though this rarely ever mattered in the series/movies) or at least first strike, or to open fire on the Angel. What sort of roll would you request for?

As I just said- initiative, to determine whether you... or it. Go first.

For the first few rounds, it's only actions are going to be continuing to pull itself out, and ranged attacks- but once it's out, shit gets real fast.

Renee, feel free to offer strategic advice every round- you don't need to roll initiative unless you start deploying assets that do things mechanically; telling Cassidy to aim for the giant red weak spot is a free action.

Ah, we posted at the same time. I included the roll on IC tread. Rolled a 9, plus 2 from the Eva AG stat, so a total of 11.

Can Unit-01 take a defensive action, if they suspect that there is an attack being directed towards them?

Well, I am assume there is an attack next turn, so full defensive seems the best course, since the Angel is still above the harbour. Better to lure it over solid land, would be Cassidy's thinking.

Do I have any reports from my command staff? Do the MAGI exist, and is their preliminary analysis in? Are we rolling by the OD rules in the book, or is this something new?

I'm not sure what I have for turrets/barrier plates/etc. I love Dragonflies, so I'll probably use all three of my Support points to requisition a Magnitude 3 wing. I get the Magnitude 3 unit of Hornets and Tanks for free, and can't exchange them. We don't need Fireflies, we're right in front of the base of operations.

We are using the OD rules in the book- the MAGI Exist, and Prelim Analysis is available as soon as you ask for it ICly.

Oh, gotcha. I wasn't clear, then. When she demanded, 'Report!' she was addressing the bridge staff and asking to be brought up to speed with everything known about the Angel and the disposition of her forces.

To deploy the AT Field is a free action. Does that mean deployment of the field and to prepare to dodge/counterattack next turn is possible?

If I am correct, a SR50 means 5 ATS and 5 Deflection. Attacking with the Pallet Gun and Neutralising the Field both take actions, so it is one or the other?

If that is the case, can they Neutralise in this turn (loosing the potential for full dodge), but allowing for a counterattack next turn?

Sorry for the questions, but I am unfamiliar with the DH rules, and am just trying to get them straight at the start. I don't mind things being fudged pro or con for the sake of pacing and narrative drama if you have something in mind, of course.

Right. You Neutralize- then it's a free action to maintain that, as you commit your ATS points to it- weakening your barrier to negate his..

Then you can attack the next turn.

Okay. Thank you. Finished my turn then, I guess. (Deployed Eva's Field and Neutralised Angel's with up to 5 ATS.)

Right. That leaves the Angel with 3 ATS of it's own, as you negatve all five, and you with no defense- all negation.

@Sherwood , I'm going to want an Initiative check from you- your spending this round getting to the surface, next round you'll pop up with your umbillical attached, and you ready to go!

Just a note- one person can neutralize for everyone else; it's one of the big uses of an AT Field Tactician. That is- once one person has neutralized, everyone is recieving the benefits of a nerfed angel.

Initiative roll posted; just be kind with my noobieness with this system until I know what I'm doing.

It's fine. As I understand it, only me and Random actually know the system, so I am explaining actions as they are taken, and such.

But I will say this.

Eventually, the training wheels /do/ come of. I don't stop being nice OOCly, ever- but eventually the angels start getting crazy. :D

I do understand. By then, I should know what I'm in the middle of. Looking forward to this!
