At the Adventurers' Table

Hee hee. That was the picture closest to the one in my mind. I wish Google had something closer. =)

Can I make a Knowledge roll to identify the kind of dragon it is?

Oh, definitely. =) Knowledge: Arcana FTW (For The Win).

Before you roll, keep in mind that in Sharseya, dragons don't always abide by the typical color-alignment profile. In fact, two of the baddest dragons out there are a mated pair, one a silver dragon, the other a red with something else mixed. While a Knowledge: Arcana roll can likely identify things like the breed of the dragon (and therefore breath weapon, immunities, approximate lifespan, and general alignment), it is far better to have figured out which dragon in question it is. Like adventuring parties, dragons have reputations.

Luna would automatically know this about them - Dragons in Sharseya are rare enough that knowing a certain color can narrow things down quite a bit, however no dragon in Sharseya should be treated lightly - they all play a game of power and knowledge that is older than humankind on the world - and in it, only the strong and cunning come out on top. Each dragon alive today is a creature is among the best of its breed. Dragons are often smart, somewhat scholarly, wise, and wicked. They are an interesting people, and their treasure hoards are like none other on Sharseya.

If Luna (or anyone) has any specific questions about the dragons of Sharseya, let me know.

My big question on dragon type is that some dragons are immune to fire, and if there is a pending fight with this critter, I don't want to waste an attack action casting a spell that just won't work. Hopefully, we won't be getting into a scrap with it; perhaps it was trapped and we freed it, so it will be glad to see us and not toast us.

I've been asked to do a "player's guide" on Sharseya's dragons, which I shall do when I get my act together (hopefully tomorrow). Fair warning: I don't actually know much about dragon types and element immunities and all that, so I don't know how much help it'll be for the sort of thing Sherwood's looking at - but I hope it will be fun to read. :)

A quick question to confirm: Did all of my spells recharge, or just the fire-based ones? I'm wondering about my Force Missiles, since they are a part of my Evoker powers and are not a actual spell.

That will only work if you are a donkey...

And I was thinking, 'If it worked for great-grandma, it'll work for me!'

Ah, hadn't seen that. Was thinking more Shakespeare.

Heya, folks! Our story continues with Chapter Three: Vardadraug and the Cosmic Ore!

After you have read it, I have the following things to share with you:

Pronunciation guide:

Koshianth
is pronounced "Koh-shy-anth."

Grimauldin is pronounced "Grim-all-dinn."

Powerpaw is pronounced "Fuzz-ee-kitt-ee-fayse-wif-moar-Moar-MOAR!!" How do you pronounce your character's name? Here's another opportunity to get silly. =)

(Bria is pronounced "Bree-yah.")

To our beloved Cap:
*chuckle* I have to offer an apology for Koshianth's demeaning treatment of Otiorin - Cap, this is exactly what "she's telling me" she would do - I only hope you find it funny, too. Otiorin on the other hand is probably far from amused. Poor guy! =)

Experience points:
Your characters have gained 5 RP points each. That's half a level of xp in one adventure. I feel you've earned it. This places each of you only 2 more RP from reaching 7th level. This xp was awarded mainly through your excellent role-playing, your OOC posts, your ideas and teamwork, your availability (I haven't had to "track anyone down."), your maturity, your senses of humor, and the tremendous amount of fun you add to our journey together. =)

Behind the storytelling screen:
If there is interest, I will post many of my "behind-the-scenes" thoughts on "The Road of Kings" and "Bilal's Menagerie." There are several thoughts this storyteller would like to share with you (including the many surprises I had along the way). Is there interest?

Re: The Road Before:
I think it was Cap that brought up the idea of telling of your party's previous adventures together? I'm up for that if you are. It can only flesh out your team as teammates as well as individuals. Plus, it is yet another avenue to create and share together. I'm all for that. =) What do folks want? What would you like to see?

A word of heartfelt thanks to every one of you:
Creating Sharseya for online RP here on RPNation has been so very worthwhile! Thank you all very much for playing in my game here - I am having a great time with you. Your OOC comments alone on the Adventurers' Table alone are worth re-reading when I want a laugh! Hee hee! I love seeing what your characters say and do in what I see as the infancy of our road together. Thanks for giving this hyperactive storyteller of yours a great place to focus his energy. =)

Huh? I thought we were level 6...

Captain Hesperus

@Captain Hesperus You are correct... Your storyteller has an overworked brain from Real Life (work!) and has "jumped the gun." Whoops! I will edit that now. =)

Or as I'm fond of saying in Real Life, "I knew what I meant!" Ha ha. =)

Wolf for one is interested in behind-the-scenes :) And even more so for The Road Before project. You could make another subforum for that where we could have a couple of threads to actually RP some critical missions we've had (akin to my Amaranth's Link to the Past game mode) - or if that's too much, then just a single thread somewhere to discuss things in another way. I assume I'm not the only interested party?

And it is quite an honor to be here. You've chosen good people and wolves for the job, if I may say so myself, so 'tis no wonder you find yourself in awe *rawrrr*

[QUOTE="Wolf Rawrrr]I assume I'm not the only interested party?

Nope! Me is interested too!

Going totally off-topic here, but I enjoyed it so much I had to share. :smiled:

Spoiler warning: this is based on the Avengers movie (as in all of it). Except with Nintendo Smash Brothers characters.

The same guy did a series in the original Star Wars movies.

Damn that autocorrect, it was allI could do to stop it changing that name to Charming... >:(

Captain Hesperus

That was autocorrect's fault? No worries, Cap. I will change Koshianth's response as if Otiorin had spoken correctly.

But first, I must go to work. Have a good one, folks! =)

Sorry. Low brain here. Whatever the name is, I think it should be true - true to the team as well as the individuals. (If you don't mind your Storyteller's opinion) I thought the word Wayfarers was neat (what adventurers don't travel?).
In Highwind, some of the more successful Highwind adventuring team names include The Last Resort, The Light in the Dark, Death From Above, Lions of Summerset, The Wandering Monsters, Mielikki's Wolves, Hammers and Axes, and Fangs of the Forest Mother.

Um. I am kind of brain dead here (I'm overworked again. My line of work requires that, but I'm transferring departments next month. Hooray! More brain!). I will try to post today if not tomorrow. I want to share what you've done in Sharseya with all of you. Or something like that. Yeah. =)
@killfire The bucket of water is a fine idea, but your character doesn't have a bucket and there's no water nearby (within short running distance that is). Where is he producing this from, friend? Remember - If it's on your character sheet, you've got it. Otherwise, you'll have to produce it somehow (and who better to produce items than an expert crafter?). =)
Ah if this is a wagon train, then somewhere in the train should be, if not on every wagon, a barrel of water, with a dipping spoon, and bucket. Gotta water the animals, and people while on the move.

Re: Water and buckets. Killfire sez,

Ah if this is a wagon train, then somewhere in the train should be, if not on every wagon, a barrel of water, with a dipping spoon, and bucket. Gotta water the animals, and people while on the move.
A good point except that six out of the eight wagons were completely obliterated by the star fall. There are only two wagons left and one was used to imprison all of you. Last I checked, Bronze was at the prison wagon with the Meadowsweets? He's spent enough time in there to know there was not a bucket nor a source of water to be seen there. That leaves one other place to look and therein lies no shortage of water. =)

Re: Otiorin and the sometimes-evil Autocorrect. Edit complete. =)

Re: All. If anyone else has any last-minute questions for Koshianth, now is the time to ask them. =)

WEEEELLLLL FINE gosh darn it! Hops off toward the silly luxury wagon making sure you WHAPT everyone on the way with a fluffy pillow goes inside and grabs a PAIR of buckets, and fills em up with water and hauls em back to the ore and starts quenching it, AFTER toasting some fresh marshmallows, and sharing em with the group. Everyone, this is a personal request. Things went haywire in another campaign because I wasn't allowed to play the character the way >I< wanted to. So, I'm gonna ask ya all if any of you mind me playing a character that is basically the comedy relief of the group? I'm serious enough in Real Life, I do NOT want to be serious here. I will be when the moment requires it, but in places like this, whapt-ing a dragon has a certain "Oh my GOSH, he didn't just DO THAT did he? Wait... That's a Joke, it has to be, nobody is that crazy". If anyone has a problem with it speak up now or forever hold your pillow.

I don't mind silly, of course! But please bear in mind that if you whap the wrong dragon (which is most of them, not to mention various other people), it's likely to start roasting party members, and the survivors aren't going to look too kindly on you...
