Otiorin is running to get to the first wagon he can reach. Then, he's going to stow that sparkly sword of his, no sense in letting everyone know he has it...

Captain Hesperus

Is there any chance of Luna making a Knowledge: Arcana roll to identify what it is that is causing the glow?

None. Not enough information. Good thought, though.
@Captain Hesperus Sorry, Cap. I guess I should have been more clear about it when I wrote it - only characters outside the wagons are aware of the red thing in the sky. The Grand Wagon has but one entrance and that faces the horses (plus there is a wall of purple mist that fills that doorway). Since your characters are riding north, it is not possible to see south. Now seeing the bottom of that wine bottle is a completely different story. =)

Well, from her position on the trailing wagon, Luna is keeping watch to the rear.

Oh, yeah. Luna can watch all she wants; you didn't mentioned she was entering a wagon, just that she was jumping on the nearest. Being outside, she's free to see it all.

Not at this time. I'm normally in bed right now, but since this hyper mind of mine is keeping me up... (goes to post again on Bilal's Menagerie). =)
Okies. There we go. Goodnight! =)

Umm. Last I checked it was still the middle of the night. Why is Luna looking past blinding sunlight?

Also... Just how far are the wagons from the battlefield? Seemed to me like quite a distance by now, but if we're still seeing the hydra and hearing gnoll footsteps then we can't have gotten far at all. How tall is that giant, anyway?

We're not within the red light sphere and I imagined that pretty large, so I thought we must be far enough by now.

Eh, so I goofed. If that's the worst mistake I make, we're doing fine.
Don't forget ye scallawags! Its Talk Like a Pirate Day! Arr!

Avast, me hearties! Raise a flagon an' rub yer hands together, for 'tis time fer ye brother @Wolf Rawrrr ta be rollin' the dice! That Knowledge: Nature be handy at a time like this, don't ye know? May lady luck guide yer hand, hook, stump, or whatever be at the end of yer wrist, ya tree-huggin' land-lubber!
Wolfie. Re: Distance. The wagons are about two hundred meters from the battlefield at the start of my next post. Remember - your speed wasn't very quick until last scene. Bria, who is driving the Grand Wagon, kept it at a brisk trot until Kitrin informed her that all Wardens were accounted for. Now, she and Bronze have ordered the horses to full gallop (flank speed).

Re: Frost Giant. At just over 5 meters tall, that mountain of a giant is big even for his people. He is several times taller than any of you save for Powerpaw.
Killfire. Re: Riding check. I realized earlier Bronze has 5 ranks in Handle Animal, and therefore does not require a roll to control the four huge draft horses pulling the prison wagon.

Avast yer addled bilge-sucking! Calling this old sea dog a lubber? Wolf be comin' to the timely rescue of ye clueless swabs:

Shiver me timbers!! Lady Luck be still havin' a soft spot for old Wolf, arr!

Like! Like like and like again! That is so totally terrific, Wolf!

I will include the results of Wolf's roll in the next post. I am writing it now.

What a fantastic picture! I love it!

That is awesome, Wolf! Yar an' stuff!

I edited my sheet to show that I cast my Protection From Energy scroll.

Good. Thanks, Sherwood. =)

I am going to give Kaerri and Killfire a chance for their characters to act prior to continuing. Until then, I think this song's chorus is fitting for this chapter. =) What about you, folks? Any songs, poems, etc. you find fitting?

In this scene:

The Grey Wardens (Luna, Kitrin, Bria, Powerpaw and Wolf): We have seen a thing happen! We must go and investigate the thing despite the apparent danger therein!

Otiorin (and Stewart):

Ha ha haaaaa! Yippie Kai Yai Yippie Yay!

EDIT: The other Wardens are going to walk into the Grand Wagon and see Otiorin and Stewart having their own Oktoberfest!
@Wolf Rawrrr @Captain Hesperus Before I write this next scene, I would like to know what Wolf and Otiorin will be doing, please. Seems only fair. =)

Working on it *woof*

@Dannigan

edit: On second thought, I did post right before you did. Did you not see my post or are you expecting me to make an additional one?

@Wolf Rawrrr Neither. Your storyteller is forgetful. I read your post and somehow forgot that Wolf was running along too. I guess I'm just waiting to see if Otiorin joins or stays put.

Nice avatar. =)

All. Re: The crater dilemma. Feel free to chat here and share any ideas, folks. =)
