Fantasy Ascension PROJECT - The Tomorrow Era

Alright, you're good. Read up on the posts so far, and have your character make his way into the meeting room already. I am going to try and speed it along a bit.

At this point in time, we are at a spot where all the characters are meeting together for the first time. So, no, it is not too late to join. I won't be allowing many more characters soon, as I don't want too many posts dependant on someone, and they are not interested in the RP anymore.

If you would like to make a character, you may.

Full Name:

Katarina Valencia Armour

Age:

18

Gender:

Female

Hero Name:

Blair Witch

Appearance:

serenityrl4_zpsd727887d.jpg

Katarina is 5' 2" and has a very slim body. She is often considered delicate, fragile, even. She has naturally white hair, an unusual oddity that caused her to be bullied for most of her teenage years. Her eyes are a piercing blue, but turn violet when she uses her powers.

While in the picture, the dress falls to the floor, Katarina's dress falls in layers only to her knees. She wears black leggings underneath, and black boots that reach to her mid-calf.

Personality:

Katarina has a very mixed personality. She has bouts of shyness and insecurity, but can also be bubbly and excitable. Sometimes, she is overcome with anger and has to lock herself in her room until she regains control of herself. She rarely shares her thoughts, feelings, or ideas. She thinks herself to be less than the people around her, believing her hardships and struggles not as important as everyone else's. Katarina finds pleasure in making other people happy, and is always looking for ways to help or cheer up her friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. She always has a smile on her face.

Katarina is much more intelligent than she gives herself credit for, a quick thinker with the ability to remain calm when stressful things are happening around her. She is able to come up with plans and escape methods almost instantaneously, which helps her get of sticky situations.

Though Katarina is constantly acting content and upbeat, underneath the facade lies an immense feeling of sadness, coupled with an overwhelming sense of loneliness. When she's left by herself, she will become furious and will cry and scream for hours until she can manage to calm herself down. She would never allow anyone to see her in that state, and, so far, few have. The only time her anger gets in the way is when she uses her powers, sometimes losing control of herself and what she's doing if she uses them for a prolonged amount of time.

History:

Katarina was born to Cecilia Armour on October the 31st. Her father was out of the picture, having left her mother before Katarina was even born. For as long as she can remember, her mother would verbally and, sometimes, physically abuse her. Cecilia would make awful comments about how Katarina looked and acted almost constantly, and the children at her school did the same.

Katarina found solace at a small library near her house, close enough for her to walk to. There, she wasn't made fun of or ridiculed constantly like she was anywhere else. She would spend as much time there as possible, reading books about anything and everything. She made friends with the librarians, particularly Brooke Mist, or Misty, as she preferred. Misty would comfort Katarina when she had a tough day at school or felt upset with her home situation. One day, Katarina discovered a book about magic and began avidly reading the printed words, mesmerized by the information and unable to put it down. Katarina soon began teaching herself spells, memorizing verse after verse of incantations, becoming someone obsessed with the subject. Before long, she successfully cast her first enchantment.

Only a year later, Katarina had developed her skills and now called herself a practicing witch. She left school on a Friday and went on her normal route to the library, now able to drive rather than walk. She pulled into the parking lot only to see police cars with flashing red lights and caution tape around the building. She tried to go inside, but a policeman stopped her. Panicked, she drove back home, and the next day she found out that there had been a murder. She frantically dialed the number for the library and asked who had been killed, and, to her horror, it was Misty. Furious and consumed by grief, Katarina bought a book on Black Magic and learned a spell to bring back the dead.

She locked herself in her room and performed the ritual. In the middle of her chanting, she felt a sense of fear. Something was going wrong, but she wasn't able to stop. It was as if the spell itself were forcing her to continue. Some sort of ghostly creature appeared in her room and tried to kill her. It almost succeeded, leaving more than one nasty gash on Katarina's body, but she managed to push it away with a minor spell and complete the spell, causing the spirit to vanish. Before the ghost left completely, it uttered an almost indiscernible curse. Katarina didn't have time to make out what it said, as she immediately felt light-headed and blacked out, not waking up until the next day. Needless to say, Misty did not come back to life, and Katarina was left feeling devastated and empty.

Since that night, someone has been off with her. She doesn't feel as happy, as caring, as compassionate as she used to. She began seeing what she thinks are ghosts, though they come and go randomly, and she's never had the chance to speak to them. They scare her immensely. She also seems to be developing a sort of addiction to black magic, which terrifies her. She suspects that the creature did something to her, but she doesn't know exactly what.

To keep her mind off of what happened, Katarina began going out at night, helping people who seemed to be in peril. She would scare drunk men away from fearful women, stop animals from being hit by cars, anything small that she could do with her powers to aid people in need. Soon after she began doing this, she received a strange letter in the mail, from a company called DYNasty. Though apprehensive and a bit suspicious of the job offer, she accepted. Besides, what did she have to lose?

Abilities:

Magic/Dark Arts

Mediumship

Likes:

Drawing

Nature

Magic

Reading

Music

Dislikes:

Small/cramped spaces

Darkness

Spiders

Mean, rude, or selfish individuals

Feeling lonely

Ghosts

Strengths:

Katarina has a lot of experience using her magic, and has gotten quite good at it. She is able to use many different types of spells, and learns new ones easily and often.

Katarina has always had a natural ability for medical skills, such as wrapping wounds, being able to figure out which herbs will help with infections, and, probably most importantly, she is good at providing comfort to people in pain.

Weaknesses:

Despite how good Katarina has become at using her powers, ever since she attempted to bring Misty back to life, she often gets out of control. Smaller enchantments and spells are normally fine, but when she tries to do something more difficult or complex, especially something to do with dark magic, she loses focus and it's almost as if the spells takes over her mind, causing her to become confused and seemingly evil or malicious.

Fears:

Hurting someone with her powers, being taken over by the evil that seems to be growing inside of her.

Being totally alone.

Others:

Fennec Fox

Sorry it took so long for me to get this up! My internet has been really spotty and I was also taking an obnoxious amount of time on Katarina's history because I wanted her to be well-developed.

Whoopsies, left a couple details out, but I just edited it :)
