Alex walked inside and sat on one of the desks in the music room. To say his heart was hammering was a major understatement.


His hands fidgeted and trembled slightly, scared yet hopeful of Rhett's response.


He may not have told him in the best way but he did not regret how he felt.


Looking up he spoke, in a voice that kind of betrayed him regarding the nerves he had

Rayna:


Rayna gave a soft sigh and accepted Ash's comfort willingly.


She could not help but wonder what was happening right now with her brother but she could not go charging in.


It was up to the both of them to figure things out and what would happen next.


She knew 1 thing though, she was going to be there for her brother whatever happened next.

Ash smiled and leaned up against the wall by the door that led to the music door and sat on the floor and said "Well lets wait for them to come out so you can comfort your brother when he comes out or be happy with him, and if he comes out either way ill be there to help" he said as he smiled a little trying to hold in the anxiousness thinking "Hope everything works out in there one way or another"​

Rhett closed the door once Alex was in and shoved the key back into his jean pocket. He was anxious about their meeting though looking up from the floor and meeting Alexey's eyes with his own he felt a little better. At least he still had his friend even if Rhett had vanished. Sighing, he slowly goes over to the desk next to the one Alex was sitting on. "How are you..?" It was small talk but he had seriously been worrying about Alex ever since he spilled his feelings. His throat felt tight with guilt. "You're looking well, at least...." Smiling nervously, this was all very new to Rhett; the boy who smoked, hung out and almost never got involved with lovey dovey shit. Who knew that his best friend had actually fallen for him? Not Rhett, obviously.

Alex nodded, he relaxed a small bit as there was no shouting or punches flying. Considering everything that had gone down. Taking a breath he spoke.


Things have been....ok.


Pretty sure my sister is into Ash but thats on her.


I....I was worried when you vanished.





Alex sighed running a hand through his hair. He was the Sarcastic smart ass so this made him feel awkward but he did not regret how he felt.


Rayna:





Rayna nodded and rested her head on his shoulder, watching the door.


You could cut the tension with a knife.


She sent a text to Athena explaining where they were and that they were waiting.


She was also curious as to what would happen with Ash and Sabrina but that was up to them.


She would have to prepare herself for whatever happened but she could not deny she was beginning to feel things for Ash

Jon runs up to Brooklyn and says "are you trying to one up me?" Jon kinda looks mad but not really more mad at himself. Not mad at her but looks mad.

"Woah, Rayna into Ash? Huh..I can't say that that's a shocker though." Rhett pushed away the awkwardness that he felt and smiled a real smile this time. "You know I always come back!" It was the truth seeing as Alex had known Rhett from when he had gone through one of the hardest parts of his life, dealing with his brother's alcohol problem. Since then they had been close and if Alexey had thought that by a simple confession that he would shut him out, he was wrong. "I just needed time to think." Shoving his hands into his pockets to keep them from trembling from the anxiety and looks away. "...it was a pretty nasty shock..ya know?" His breath caught briefly but was soon recovered. "I still don't know, man...surely you could do so much better than a drug addicted nobody." He sighed at the words having thought about it a lot. He put a hand over his eyes then moved it up to brush his hair back.

Brooklyn laughed "believe me if I were trying to one up you, you would know" she stopped running and finished the lap walking​

Alex gave a small chuckle. They had not come to discuss his sisters love life but he agreed it was not exactly world altering. Wincing slightly he nodded.


Yeah you know me blunt as ever, but I meant it. Does it mean I want to skip around holding hands?, fuck no but I feel how I feel


He shrugged. He put it plain as day. He could do no more. Taking his hand he placed it carefully on your free hand.





Cut the Bullshit dude, you know I don't care about that so don't try it. Maybe I need someone who was there with me when I came out to my bigoted dad. The one who punched out the guy three times his size for calling me a I'm uncultured and then holding me back when I wanted to hit him


He gave your hand a gentle squeeze before letting it go


But I'm not going to force you into anything either

It was true; Alexey never gave a shit about what others thought nor the titles that people were given. It was a relief even though the uncertainty remained. The touch of his friend's hand holding his own made him feel more comforted than anxious now and gave him more confidence. "That guy sounds pretty fucking cool, man.." He smirked, Rhett had learned a lot from Alex including how to be a sarcastic ass when he pleased. His smirk faded slightly as the warmth left his hand and looking up, he shrugged. "Maybe you don't have to...for the time being let's just be us." Moving closer, Rhett hugged Alex glad to have him around again. He would keep his mind open and felt fairly certain that things were going to work themselves out. Ryder let go and stepped back, "you might wanna go get to class..I have to go replace this key." Pulling out the small golden item, he smiled. "The things I do for you."

And how would I know if you were" Jon looks around at everyone else and then looks back at Brooklyn and brushes her hand with his hand, it might have been by accident but it sent butterfly's in to Jon. I hope she does not think that was weird. He turns and smiles at her.

Alex nodded, even though they were going back to normal and just being themselves, the confession had shifted the dynamic.


Not in some profound way but for Alex it was acknowledging feelings that had been there all along and making Rhett aware of them.


What they did now he planned to do as a pair. Not over thinking it or grinding it down but being honest.


As if you would do it for anyone else, Don't forget you love me


He said teasingly as the tension and awkwardness in the air left and they were comfortable around each other again.


Taking a deep breath before heading outside, he caught both of Rhett's hands.


And if you start getting it into your head that your somehow not worth it or that I can somehow do better. Call me I don't mind telling you why I care so much


Giving them a squeeze, he pulled you in for a hug and giving a small kiss to your forehead before stepping back

"Hmmm I don't know, probably have to run more " when his hand brushed against hers she smiled back at him, being the brave person she is she held his hand as they walked back, she acted as if it wasn't that huge of a deal but she was excited on the inside​

Ash let Ranya rest her head on him as e said "Wonder whats in store huh" he ai as he laughed a little because he could see the incoming drama wave and couldn't prepare for it at all "Its going to be rough from here on out isn't it" he said in a soft voice.​

Jon said "alright ready for another lap? I think I will be able to run this time, last time was a warm up." Jon looked down and saw they were holding hands he looks back up and in to her eyes and then back at their hands. Jons heart started to race and embraced the hand holding. This is what he dreamed of. "Does this bother you Brooklyn?" As they started another lap.

Rayna nodded, agreeing with Ash. Things may have settled between Alex and Rhett but they were teenagers, drama tended to follow them all.


Sliding her hand into his she gave it a squeeze, knowing that he was dreading speaking with Sabrina. To be honest so was she, but they had a long friendship


and they had to talk.


She heard laughter from inside the room and she knew they would be fine and she let out a sigh of relief.

"Eh, you've got me." Another shrug followed by chuckling, Rhett was feeling way better than he had about ten or so minutes ago. He started to follow Alex toward the door but paused when both of his hands were taken up into the others. He smiled gratefully after he listened to what was being said to him. "You know it." His head was a jumble of confused thoughts, however. Why does Alexey like me? Whatever reasons he had Rhett was just happy that he had his bud back. He was startled by the kiss to the forehead after he was pulled into the hug but only chuckled. "You're too nice, Alex. Now, get to class we don't need to be caught and given detention." Walking to the door, Rhett opened it slowly at first and glanced around before stepping out as though nothing had happened. That's when he saw Rayna and Ash. "What the fuck?" He raised a brow and looked at Rayna. "Hey, Rayna. Nosy as ever, eh?" He looked at the guy beside her briefly and recognized him as Ash. They had never talked or anything, just seen each other around the siblings. "Well, time for me to get going." He turned back to the door and locked it then headed down the hall.

Athena walked down the halls to meet Rayna, once she spotted her she also noticed Ash. Athena rolled her eyes as she made it them, "Hey, Rayna." Athena gave Rayna a hug and then nodded to Ash, "Everything okay between them so far?"

Sabrina sighed, she never knows about any of these things, the only way she even goes to these types of parties is because of Ash and he didn't even say anything to her.


She just shrugged, Sabrina doesn't really care about parties anyway.

As they started running again Brooklyn looked at him for a second, she tried to keep at his pace, knowing now that he didn't run. After a little bit she finally sped up from him and took off, once she got to where they had started she stopped and waited for him.​
