Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"The hell did I even do?", Jack grumbled, looking at the shack. "Fine, be angry, but I was right and you know it!" He stormed into his own house, leaving Hardhead looking very confused and Janus unsure of what she was to do.

Anna leaned on a storage box to avoid joining Roan on the ground, but she was nowhere near coherent through the laughter for a while. "Oh, my god," she wiped a tear from her eye, "That's amazing." She shook her head, "And she said he was the leader!"

Anna shook her head, getting a hold of herself. "Come on, while there's still daylight." She started towards the wolves, still giggling from time to time over that scene. Never a dull moment around here!

Roan nodded, joining her with one of his wolves, "lets get some keratin."

Roan and Anna had a much easier time than Jack's bulky self when it came to staying on the wolves. Not seeing Jack some out any time soon, Janus padded over to join the pack, and all six wolves and two humans went down the slope to comb the beach for anything with horns or spikes.

After a few hours, and many, many beasts killed off, the two had more than enough keratin for the saddles. Sitting on the beach, Roan was looking through the Wolves' inventories, "They collect pretty well."

"I hope they're that effective about fur," Anna agreed as she looked through inventories, "We've got the stuff for the saddles and space to screw up." The best kind of space, really.

"I would think they should be," Roan commented, "And at least we don't have to worry about running out soon."

"Yeah," Anna nodded and got on the backs of one of the unencumbered ones, "Let's get back and see if they've cooled down any." Back at camp they could hear the sound of building inside Jack's house, but the doors and windows were locked, even the side door that led into a small yard where he'd parked Hardhead and Rocky when they weren't in use.

As they got back, Roan noticed the locked doors and sounds of building, "I think that's a no."

Anna sighed, "Great." she started taking keratin from the wolves, "Let's just get this in the workshop, then, whenever they come out we'll sort them out." Their workshop was still just a tiny platform with a smithy, refining forge, and a couple mortar and pestles on the ground, Jack hadn't gotten around to building something that could accomodate everyone needing to use the workshop yet. "And we'll light a fire under Jack's ass about the workshop."

"Maybe not today," Roan suggested, "I think he's had enough for one day."

"Fine," Anna rolled her eyes, "Tomorrow, then, but we need a workshop and a warehouse, and he's got the resource dinos." Sure, they had the engrams for what they needed to build a workshop, but the mammoth was in Jack's possession and the doedicurus was always sleeping in his side yard if she wasn't running around quarrying, so Jack pretty much had a stranglehold on all building projects.

"Yea, we can bug him later about it," Roan nodded, "How about an early dinner?"

Roan shrugged, "Sure. Why not?"

He got some stuff and noticed a paper that had been stuffed in a storage container. Looking it over it was a a recipe, so he decided to try it.

"Where'd you get that?", Anna asked, not recognizing the recipe in Roan's hand. "You been writing those down?"

"Me? No, I just found it in a storage container," He answered as he made the meal.

"Huh," Anna frowned at the cooking pot as Roan's concoction came to be. "I wonder if we can make other stuff in the cooking pot." Maybe they could make medicines to help them when they were hurt. Having a broken leg sucked.

"Maybe, but I dont know where we got this to look for more," He answered, "I mean, imagine what we can make."

"We can probably make our own," Anna shrugged, "But we can find out." She actually had an idea, but the cooking pot was occupied with Roan's cooking.

"Yeah!", Anna nodded, "I think I'm gonna give that a shot, actually." They had the materials for a few extra cooking pots, so it would probably be fine.

"Good idea, " Roan said as he continued cooking, "We can test out recipes."

Anna got up and went over to the storage boxes for materials. Fortunately, in all their hunting, they had no shortage of hide, and thanks to Rocky and Manny stone and wood weren't in short supply either. Before long she came back with a handful of cooking pots being crafted by her implant. "I think I'm gonna make an area special for experiments," she decided, looking at her hut, "Think Jack's gonna get angry if I expand on the house?"
