Apocalypse.

She looked over at him and watched for a moment, her lips pursed as she sighed. "I-its ok.. I'm not to keen on going in anyways." As much as the water entranced her, she had no inclination to submerge her self into it. The thought worrying her slightly about being completely covered in such a weird new element. The thought made her shiver and she pulled the jacket round her a little closer. "W-Wouldn't want anything to happen to the water if we took our eyes off it.." she added as she sat down beside the trolley, resting gently enough to lean but not enough to move it in any way.

As she sat she pulled her legs crossed, rubbing at the badge mindlessly. She soon found herself thinking about the crash, her eyes shut in a meditative kind of way.

'It was cold..' She didn't like that feeling.. 'and dark.. v-very dark' the mere thoughts of darkness cause her to open her eyes, not blinking for a bit. She huffed "Would be easier to relax if I wasn't so jumpy" she tried to be quiet so Roland couldn't hear her negativity and then looked up at the clear sky.

Although there weren't any clouds in view she wasn't really looking at the sky, she eventually just zoned out, humming something weird to herself as she did. Doing so her shoulders slacked and she at-least didn't look as tense anymore. Her hand laying the badge close to her chest and she let out another breath. She may not have been fully relaxed as Roland as asked her but she did manage to unwind just a little.

Normally Bishop would have stripped down to nothing, but with a young lady around, he chose to keep his pants on. It wouldn't do him any good to make things weird between them. After a few minutes of swimming around, the young man headed back towards a shoreline a little ways away from where the water and X where. After getting to shore, he headed back to the water and X, feeling clean for the first time in a long time.

Once he was back, he noticed that X seemed to actually be somewhat relaxed, so instead of calling out to her, he just smiled and put his shirt and jacked back on, then went and grabbed his pistol. "Hey." He said softly to X, as to not disturb her too much. Roland then proceeded to lay down next to her and the water, as to let the sun dry him off a bit. "It's nice out here, isn't it? Quite. No real threats. I would have loved to live out here, but it's just too far from the city, and the food."

"Hm? oh yeah..It's a nice spot" she replied distractedly, opening the eye closest to him and peering to him. "E-enjoy the water?" she asked, holding the badge in a tight fist.

After his reply she nodded, opening her eyes and looking at the badge in her palm. "U-uh.. y-you wouldn't mind taking a look at this would you?" she asked hesitantly holding the badge in his view.

It was a rather sleek, Its surface a cool and metallic looking . Although it looked like iron it felt more like cold clay, as if it could be softened. Its shape was odd in itself, like a thickly lined V that outlined the thinner V shape inside that seemed to bend in a dome curving into outline, similar to the way a button sticks out on a toy. If turned over its obvious that it didn't have a pin, but two small dots, and a small line on engraving.

Roland smiled at the girl, nodding at her question and answering it. "Yeah. It was nice and cold. Just what i needed." Once X had asked him to look at her badge, he sat back up and moved a bit closer to the girl. He leaned in slightly and had a look at the badge in her hand before taking it and having a proper look at it. "I've noticed you wearing it before. I have no clue what it is honestly. It's probably something important from your past, and that's why you keep noting it and fiddling with it. Perhaps if you find another one it can give you a clue as to what happened." Roland suggested as he held it back out to X.

"mm.." she hummed in a slight disappointment. 'He doesn't know either then.. Was worth a shot.' She made no move to grab it though and instead looked at it in his hand. "I doubt there is a-another one really..." she noticed she felt a little calmer without it in her grasp, seeing someone whom had been so kind to her holding it delicately.

"h-How about you hold onto it? Perhaps if you ever get the chance you m-might have better l-luck finding out what it is. or does...y-you wouldn't mind would you?.. I mean you don't have to." she half pleaded half asked looking at him timidly.

"Sure." Roland told X as he had one last look at the badge before slipping it in his pocket. "I promise i won't lose it." He told the girl before standing back up and holding his hand out to help X up. "We had best get going again. Daylight is burning." He told her while thinking of the next place to go. Food was next, so they would have to head into the heart of the city, then metal supplies, so they would need to go into the industrial part of the city. The young man quickly made a map in his head of the city he knew so well and planned the quickest route.

She smiled sheepishly and accepted his hand. 'i-I'm sure you wont" Feeling somewhat relived that he had accepted it she dusted off her legs looking up at him. "Which way then?" she asked looking around curiously.

"Back home" Bishop answers X as he walks over the the trolley and begins to pull it. "Then we are off to get some food and some stuff to upgrade the barricades so we don't have a repeat of last night. I would rather not have my head bitten into." Soon the pair where back on the road, headed home.

Once the pair where home, Roland put the water back into the shed before locking it back up. There was still a little water left inside, so he didn't need to replace it. "Alright." The young man said as he began to head inside. "Give me half an hour to catch my breath and not die from pulling that thing up so many hills, then we can had out." He told X between gasps of air. Roland then proceed to collapse back first into the sofa to rest for a little.

She nodded and followed, sliding her knife out and examining the goop as they walked. 'Yet another thing we have no clue about' And although unhappy about not doing anything didn't wish to interfere with him pushing the trolley even though she worried near the midway point.

She stood bedside the door and nodded to his words as always not realising until a full minute she hadn't actually been breathing. taking a small gulp of air she watched the tired man guiltily. "p-perhaps you'll give me a more s-strenuous job next hm?" she smiled shyly "D-don't need you passing out or anything.." she scratched her arm 'I'd be s-screwed if he did..'' she thought panicking slightly that she hadn't offered to help like she should've.

Passing the time she continued to experiment with the goop in the jar leaning against the wall and tapping the jar childishly. "I wonder why it went through you jacket" she whispered, though loud enough to be heard. "It didn't go through my pants.." she followed wiping the substance on her jeans and watching it sink in. 'Weird..' she thought with a sigh 'A-and unknown.. just like everything I have' she stood and stared at the jar, a small frown crossing her face.

Roland lay his hand over his head and waited for his body to calm down. He listened to X as she spoke, straining his ears to hear her at some points. "I won't pass out. I'm used to doing hard jobs. I'll give you some hard jobs once i know what you are good at. I don't want you trying to do something when you have no clue what you are doing." He told her. It was a poor excuse, but it was the only one he had.

After a few seconds of thinking, Roland really had no clue why it didn't melt through her pants, and it did his jacket. "Whatever the reason, i'm glad it didn't melt through your pants. I wouldn't want you getting burnt or anything because of it." In truth, the fact that it didn't burn through X's pants did worry him a lot. It was another thing on a growing list of things wrong with her.

"Hey. If i get the radio working, we may find more people. If we do, i plan to go find them and help them. What will you do? Will you come with me?" Roland asked the girl. In truth, he was beginning to become attached to the girl. It did him a world of good to have someone around, even if they where as weird as she was. He didn't want to leave her behind.

She continued to frown feeling a little useless. "N-no harm trying though.." she said quietly. before flicking the goo back in the jar and shoving it back into her satchel. She looked up seeing catching his worried expression "Silly of me, I a-actually didn't think about that.. when I did it that is.."

"o-others?" she questioned tilting her head. "Y-you'd properly not w-wanting me scaring them off.. I can see I'm a little odder then i thought.." she replied wiping the frown of her face with her thumb. As much as the thought tugged at her, she felt like she was merely a burden on the man. 'What would I do?" she thought about it gnawing on her thumb as she did and like most things here all she could respond with was a rather quiet "I don't know."

Roland slowly sat up, feeling his abdominal muscles burn from the pulling. He then put his arm around the couch and looked over to X. "You wouldn't scare anyone off. Heck, you would probably have boys chasing after you. You are quite the cute one after all." He told her in a teasing voice. Though Roland had no real interest in the girl, as he had a lot of other things to worry about then emotions, he could see a lot of other people, ones closer to her age, falling for her.

"It's decided then." He told the girl. "You can come with me. I'd feel bad leaving you alone. Besides, people would be more ready to trust us if we came together."

Blushing slightly she practically felt the embarrassment burn her cheeks."uh..um t-thanks?" she gushed slightly standing quietly.

"i-it Is ?.." Gulping slightly she had no other option then to nod. "o-o-ok."

Roland's smile turned devious as he watched X's face become flustered. He had forgotten how fun it was to tease girls, and oh boy was it fun. But he didn't want to give her the wrong idea, so he didn't push any further for now. Instead he got up off the coutch, ignoring the pain in his muscles, and walked past the girl to outside. As he went past her, he lightly ruffled her hair and told her "Yes. It is. Unless you really don't want to go" Once he got to the door, he grabbed a plastic bag sitting in a bin next to the door and shoved it into his pocket.

Once outside, the young man looked around for any signs of danger. Luckily the Zombies had yet to really wander back into this part of the city, so they where relatively safe. "Time to start getting the food." He said to X as he started walking towards the city, trusting that she would follow him.

Roland glanced back to make sure X was following him so that he wasn't just talking to himself. Once he saw her following, he turned his head back around to watch for any dangers. "Is there anything in particular you want to look for? We won't be able to find anything fresh, only canned and long lasting food. But you get used to it."

She looked up from the floor, still slightly shy from earlier comments. She shrugged lightly "Can't say I e-exactly k-know what were looking f-for." 'Not a clue...' she thought with an internal groan.

"We are looking for a grocery that's not been raided, or a warehouse that stores food." Roland told X. It was simple enough to do, but the fact of the matter was that most of these places are either completly locked down or empty. Though Roland had been plotting something to take care of the pĺaces in lockdown.

"Dear, does that goop work on metal?" He asked X, planning on melting the thick locks that boltcutters can not get through.

"Oh, O-k then." She said with little confidence.

"t-The goop ?" She gave a questioning look before realizing what he meant. "O-oh t-that? I-I'm not sure. I-it might?" She gingerly pulled the jar out her back and stared at it. She held the jar and tapped it. 'What do you do? Heck, what are you?' Her brow furrowed as she studied the contents.

Roland watched X as she pulled out the jar and played with it. Something about that jar of goop seemed wrong to him, but was chalked up to another strange thing that X had going on. "Watch where you are walking dear. Don't trip over." Roland told X. Though she didn't seem that clumsy, the young man didn't want her breaking the glass and having it stab into her while the goop are her alive.

She continued to fiddle with jar, although her curiosity faltering as she still had no clue on what it really was. She eventually just hung her hand by her side looking up to him as he spoke.

"Hm? oh.. y-yeah..W-will do."
Although slightly confused on why falling over would be the most of his concern right now, she made an effort to look at the ground a little more, while taking glaces as the goo slid slowly down the sides of the jar.

As the pair came into the city, Roland quickly noticed something. Super zombies where everywhere. Though they couldn't go into the sun, so they where safe for now. But Alleyways, tall buildings, even a few shops, they had them hiding in them. There was about twenty of them in total. Mainly fast ones, a few strong, and a strange looking smart one.

"Fuck me." Roland said aloud as he grabbed X's hand and began to pull her close to him. "We need to hurry. I don't like the look of these guys." He told X. The panic clear in his voice.

He started pulling her along, not seeming to be letting go of X's hand anytime soon. "I know a place we can get food. Though that goop better be able to go through metal."

She almost completely froze when she also spotted the eyes. 'o-oh dear..'

Her fingers rather stiff in his grasp she followed almost being dragged out of her frozen state by his insisted tugging. She mumbled something incoherent in reply. He eyes glowing slightly more in fear.

Her hand eventually complying, she began to keep his speed a little better. She shoved the jar with a bit of difficulty, in her bag as they moved. "I hope so too" she whispered.

Though there was no real reason to run, Roland just wanted to get away from the sheer amount of super zombies. They rang danger bells in his head, as they would with anyone. Pulling X around corner after corner, they where soon far enough away for Roland to remember that it was infact daytime. They couldn't follow the pair.

After stopping, the young man put his back against the nearest wall, breathing in raggered breaths. His hand still unconsciously holding X's. "We need to get a move on." He told X, but didn't start moving. Looking X in the eyes, light blue meeting electric blue. "We need to leave tomorrow. I don't think we can stay here any longer."

She made quiet noises when he had tugged a little more when they reached corners. her thoughts a little scrambled as she blindly followed him.

It wasn't until they stopped she realized she had held her breath most of the way, and took in small breaths of air as she stood, her chest bleary rising. She nodded vigorously at the mad her eyes filled with worry, panic, and were now glowing almost painfully bright. With a sad expression she whispered "Ok" in reply. She felt a pang of guilt in her chest, thinking about the nice house. They had to leave.. and something about that meant she couldn't help but think was due to her presence.
