Fantasy Anything Goes

Hunter nodded and opened up the main pocket to hold the book " and I'll be careful with it, I promise."

"Thank you," she smiled kindly up at him before gently sliding the book into his bag. "Alright, back home now?" He was probably right about her omelette, but she wasn't too worried about, it would probably still taste better than anything she could've made.

As they started home, Hunter decide to bring up the past "hey, remember when first met?" He asked Aileada with a nostalgic look on his face

Victoria stands on the other side of the motorcycle. "This was quite a short adventure, but I am. Unless you need me to go get something... Food, water, body bags, duct tape, bricks. Anything?" She smirks slightly and looks up at the sky.

Zodiac sat alone in the café. Grey skies. Rain was coming. Zodiac shifted his glance at his reflection in the window.

Briefly, he could envision Trebuchet waving back at him. But Trebuchet has long since went off, approximately four hours ago. Zodiac was crashed. Exhausted, hurt, and scarred from yesterday. He looked at his basket of bakery items and picked a scone from the bunch, unwrapping it and biting into it.

She let out a soft laugh as she was taken back to the day. It had been so many years since then. She nodded, looking back to Hunter with a smile.

Zodiac looked up from his scone and saw the two. Alieada and Hunter. He stood up, linked the basket onto his belt, and strode out of the café, his cloak buttoned up all the way, hiding any hint of the existence of his torso and arms.

Hunter let out a chuckle "I still remember your face when you saw me shift that day, I could've sworn that your eyes were going to pop out of your skull!" Imitating her face at the time, literally, he shifted his facial structure to look like hers at that age hair and all.

Aileada held her sides as she laughed. Not only was the expression of her younger self funny, but seeing it connected to Hunter's body made it even better. She stopped walking for a moment trying to contain her laughter. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she took in a deep breath. "That was beautiful." Aileada giggled. A figure caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She turned, a smile still formed on her lips, as she saw Zodiac. She waved to him.

As Hunter shifted his head back to normal he noticed Aileada look at something, he looked to see what she was looking at he noticed Zodiac, and tensed slightly as he wasn't sure of what he would do.

Zodiac seemed to have that dark haze over his head again, and he walked closer. When he was only a foot away, he spoke in a trembling voice.

"I-I'm really sorry for being overactive and almost killing you guys. I was just so caught up in the moment, I-I..."

Zodiac paused and looked up through his mask.

"I'm sorry I showed you what monster I truly am..."

"It's alright," Aileada smiled reassuringly. "We all have our demons. And," she paused, studying his mask. "You're not a monster." She wasn't sure why, but after the events of last night she felt a connection, a point of understanding, with Zodiac. Even though he had tried to kill them she didn't feel in danger around him anymore.

Hunter stared Zodiac down, still not entirely sure of he's intent, but let his guard down anyways "If Aileada forgives you, I'll forgive you to." Pausing slightly and taking a few steps closer to Zodiac and whispered to him with a glare "But if you ever, and I mean ever, try to hurt Aileada again will personally deliver you to hell in a body bag."

"Nah, That'll be my job, Runt."

Trebuchet tapped Hunter on his shoulder.

"That wasn't the worst of Zodiac, I'll tell ya what."

Zodiac's arms shifted under his cloak, and his gaze fell upon Trebuchet, who was holding something dripping in his right hand. Trebuchet caught Zodiac's gaze and looked at his right hand.

"You came back..." Zodiac muttered.

"Aye, not with good news either."

Trebuchet revealed the thing in his hand to be a blood-soaked portion of yellow clothing.

"Electricity assassin got into the Earth Palace, but my guards took him out. Cracked his skull wide open so you can see inside his noggin, brain scraps everywhere."

Trebuchet made a laugh at his Morbid remark.

Hunter jumped slightly as he felt a tap on his shoulder and turn around to find another masked man and heard Zodiac mutter something about coming back and the other man started to talk about electricity assassins "um, sorry to interrupt but what are you talking about?" he asked the unknown

Trebuchet turned back to hunter.

"Aye, theres this sorta element war goin' on."

Trebuchet motioned at the bloody rag.

"An electricity Assassin got into my palace, but my guards dispatched 'em."

Hunter just blinked processing what the masked man said, then shrugged "I've heard weirder, and I don't believe l ever caught your name"

"Name's Trebuchet, Kid."

Trebuchet got into Hunter's face. The neon lights on his helmet blinking a little.

"Don't call me by my first name, Ever. Only my family is allowed to."

Hunter's eyes widened as Trebuchet got in his face "um, you never said your first name, and get a breath mint" He responded pushing the helmet away from his face while waving a hand in front of his face.

"Bad breath? Nah. It's all under here. You're probably smelling the dried blood right here."

Trebuchet motioned at a dark stain on the shiny metal face of his helmet.

Zodiac, not wanting to see a fight, shoved Hunter and Trebuchet apart.

"Human, don't mess with my cousin.

And Trebuchet, you're older. You know better."

Zodiac suddenly realised how mother-like he was for scolding the two and he burst into laughter. Trebuchet cocked his head and shrugged, dissapearing into a hole in the ground that was suddenly covered by more rock.

Hunter looked at Zodiac with a raised eyebrow "I may look human" he said to Zodiac holdup a hand and shifting it into a deadly looking claw (think prototype 2 claws) "but I'm sure as hell not."

Zodiac looked at Hunter with a breif expressionless gaze and turned his back. "I've seen worse..."

He muttered under his breath. He changed into a large Drake-Dragon and seemingly slithered on the air, and flew away.

Hunter watched the dragon like zodiac and shifted his hand back to normal before turning to look at Aileada for her reaction to the interaction.

Aileada crossed her arms as the two males began to butt heads. It seemed that no matter what species you were, the males were always trying to top each other. Though she supposed that females did that as well, especially when others were threatening what was theirs.

Zodiac was resting on the roof of a thrift store. He laid flat gazing upward at the sky. He just wanted full acceptance from what would be his friends. Maybe. what he really thought was that they hated him. A terrible monster devoid of all feeling. He knew he felt things, but maybe not emotion. Zodiac looked at the setting sun and looked at his palms. Maybe he could do something different to whisk away his boredom, so he jumped off of the roof and unbuckled his mask from his head and went back in the direction he came from on foot.
